    Hi Manoj,

Please corret me if i am wrong with ur requirement.

    1) Sending Success and Failure Email notification by using Command Task.

If this is ur requirment you can call the Unix script in the command Task. There is a option called command in the task, please use the property for sending email.

    2) I am ot sure why you wants to write Delete Query in command task. If you wants to do that you can go for the session propery. (Pre-Sql or Post Sql).

    Thanks,

    Hi Jon,
first of all: I second Bill's motion to find the source of the problem (failed authentication attempts can be read from the Security Event Log of the authenticating Domain Controller).
If a swift bandaid however is needed first, you can do this by building a scheduled task in the Task Scheduler. Powershell.exe accepts quite a few parameters, which you can specify in this task. Remember to set an account, that has the permission to run
this command, as the executing account.

    DB:3.77:Scheduling A Command To Run 9j

    Hi,

Based on the research, if we select command prompt in the Scheduled Task Wizard, it actually only prompt up a command line interface. I assumed that you want the system to automatically execute some commands in the CLI at a scheduled time. If so, you may consider writing a test.bat file to save all the commands. Afterwards, you may schedule a task to run this test.bat file.

    1) new workflow - contains a command task, success email task for this command and failure email task for this command -- all connected with link tasks.

    2) Exisiting workflow - Contains few sessions and few command tasks.. I have added one new command task between 2 sessions. for this new command task, i have created success email task and failure email task using link tasks.

The issue is that in 1) new workflow, it is giving the email task details in the workflow log and as well as it is sending the success or failure email. But, in the 2) existing workflow, it is not at all giving any information about email tasks and not sending success or failure email for the new command task.

I am not understanding what is happening in 2) existing workflow and why it is not able to log the email task details and also not sending success or failure email.

Can anyone suggest me regarding this as soon as possible?

Is there a creative way to pass client variables to the command line of an Install Application task in a task sequence? My testing has shown that the client variables are not exposed like they are for the run command tasks so I'm looking for a creative way

DB:3.52:Is There Any Creative Ways To Pass Client Variables To The Command Line Of An Install Application Task In A Task Sequence? 7m

Hmmm. Yes, there are advantages to using the script below, but what happens when it tries to execute outside of a task sequence -- like during an automatic re-install initiated by deployment re-evaluation? Task Sequence variables are *not* available outside
of a task sequence. Using task sequence variables really should only be used for task sequence specific activity.
Perhaps if you elaborated on what you are trying to accomplish, we could suggest a better way.

    Jason | http://blog.configmgrftw.com

The above is already understood and is not valid scenario I see in my requirements. Once an application is deemed needing the use of a client variable (TS variable) I would only be deploying that application inside a task sequence due to the dependency i've
    created.
    Details on the scenario.
I'vechose to use client variables that will tell the task sequences exactly how I want to configure this device during a bare metal build, including all applications and configurations. I'm using an external custom process to create the client via
wmi and so this process will populate the client with all the variables needed to complete that install successfully. I call this a client manifest (client variables). If this device needs to be rebuild in the future we will always know how the device should
be configured based on this client manifest. An example application might be the install of printer driver along with configuration of an LPR port the points to a specific IP address of a printer. The port name and IP address will be client variables.

Informatica command tasks execute at the OS level, so you'll need to write a shell script to connect to the db and execute the sp.

Alternatively, add the unconnected sp to the mapping and configure to execute at end of session.

    echo $PMSessionName,%date%,%time%,

    $PMSQ_Joiner@numAffectedRows,$PMW_ORG_DS@numAffectedRows,

    $PMW_ORG_DS@numRejectedRows $PMTargetFileDir\$PMWorkflowName_stat.csv

I am using command task as post session success command but at the output i am only able to see 0 byte file created with name as TgtFiles$PMWorkflowName_stat.csv.

I tried to enclose parameters in quotes also but in vain.

DB:3.50:Session Parameters Not Getting Value In Command Task c7

I guess, you cant use these parameters in command task as they are defined at integration service level. You need to use the absolute value or use a parameter file with these parameters in a script and call it through the command task.

Nothing wrong with your script. However, the command task can run only one command (unfortunately). If you want to run multuple commands, encapsulate all the commands in a single script and call the script in the post session command.

If it were a mere inserts why dont you try to use Post SQL instead of a command.

    Hi,

Create a simple mapping which will read a 0 records and load 0 loads into a target. And create a session for the mapping. This is to use the email option for attaching the log files.

Then create a decision task and enter the condition link sessionname1!= Succeeded or Sessionname2 != succeeded or sessionname3 != Succeeded for all the session .

Link all the session to the Decision task and enable the treat the input like as AND option.

Use the dummy sesssion after the decision task and give the link condition as DEC.condition = TRUE .

Then inside the dummy session onsucess email attach all the log file and sent to the group

    for Sucess notification

Create a email task after decision and use the link condition as FALSE (DEC.condition != TRUE) then it will send mail if all the session succeeds

The decision task condition will be true if any one session failed and it becomes false if all the session suceeds.

    Let me know the results

The file generated or the directory does not allow the user running the scripts. I mean the user might not have execute permission hence the cmd task failing.

Perhaps it is already running but off screen? You could use ProcExp (from TechNet) as a substitute to TM. In fact, I think that ProcExp even has a way of making itself replace TMso that might be a way to repair problems with it.In any case, this is not

You can work around it by invoking JDeveloper using jdev.exe instead of jdevw.exe. You'll still have a command window, but only one, and it will stay permanently.

This was a bug in java's Runtime.exec() functionality, and has been fixed in 1.4 (and consumed in JDeveloper 9.0.4).

I am using a oledb command task to update an table. The table has around 20000 records and after processing 9000 records the task stops executing.Even after waiting for an hour it still shows the 9000 records and no updates on the task and it looks like it hanged. But when I tried using the same command Execute SQL Task it worked with out any issues? Can anybody why it is not working with OLEDB Source task? Thanks,Ram

    DB:3.39:Oledb Command Problem fd

The OLE DB Command component (not Task) is slow because it's doing updates row by row. It has not stopped executing, it is still working. The number of rows you see having "entered" the component is the number of rows in the first buffer that was sent to the component. SSIS won't send it another buffer's worth until it's done processing the first batch. When you try the same command with an Execute SQL Task, it will work "fast" because you're only executing it once, not 9000+ times. If you watch the activity on the database with SQL Profiler, you'll see what's going on, and begin to understand why it's slow. You may be able to speed it up by adding indexes or reformulating your UPDATE statement. Take the statement as you see it in Profiler and look at the execution plan - see if you can add/remove indexes to make it run faster.Or, you can stop using the OLE DB Command. Use an OLE DB Destination to INSERT the data into a "temporary" table (it doesn't have to be a #table), then use an Execute SQL Task with an UPDATE command to do a set-based update, merging your "temporary" table into the true destination table.

    ABeach, please try this:
Delete the offending file from C:\Windows\Tasks
After the file is deleted, if it is still showing on the scheduled task menu. Just sort the menu by task using the Settings--ControlPanel--Schedule Tasks--Add Schedule Task -- right click Sort By Name menu item.
I know this sounds crazy -- but your task will disappear after being sorted if there is no corresponding task file in the C:\Windows\Tasks folder.
    Good luck.

    for ex,

in a parameter file i'm giving like

    [Global]

    $$test_command=sh '/xxx/yyy/test_script.sh'

Thanks for the replies and the guidance, actually the script is not right,

when informatica log in to the UNIX it will go to its default folder, so when it tries to execute the copy statement it tries to find the files in the default folder rather than the script folder,

now i changed the script like below and it is working fine,

    Hi Santosh,

In the command task when writing your bat file if you have any error conditions make sure to trap them and exit with a non-zero return code so that the command task can know when the bat file doesn't run properly.

also in the command task, properties tab check the box "run if previous completed". This tells the command task to check the return code of the command and to fail if the command fails.

    DB:3.33:Re: Map Task Pane js

It is normally on the View menu in Map, but not in C3D. This has come up as
a wishlist item in previous versions, which is why I'm surprised it hasn't
made it's way into 2009. I can't imagine why it would be left off
intentionally. It must be too difficult to implement, or I'm sure Autodesk
would have added it by now.

    Hi Jon,

After reading the Help file to find the commands to open the Map Workspace,
I broke my own very long standing rule of never editing an Autodesk supplied
menu to add the command to the end of the Map Pop menu.

The omission of that functionality makes me suspect the Map menu was put
    together by a kindergarten dropout.

A VB script can run directly from Windows task schedule. In the task scheduler, select Add a new scheduled task. Following the prompts, browse to
select your .vbs file. Name your task and select your schedule to run the task daily and select the time of day to run. It works just the same as if you want to schedule .Bat file.
Use the absolute file path in the command.

DB:3.31:Synch Toy As A Scheduled Task dk

    Hi Bob,
•Is there any other scheduled task running?
You may try the following and check:
    i.Go to the start menu.
ii.Type task scheduler and press enter.
iii.Press “Continue” on the UAC popup.
iv.In the left pane of task scheduler, underneath Task Scheduler Local, right-click on Task Scheduler Library.

v.In the View submenu, make sure the Show Hidden Tasks option is checked.
vi.Widen the Name column in the center pane. The hidden task that is likely at fault has a name that starts with User_Feed_Synchronization, followed by a dash and a bunch of digits inside a curly brace.

vii.Select that task in the middle pane by clicking on its name.
viii.To verify that this scheduled task is creating all those taskeng.exe processes, select the History tab in the middle pane near the middle of the screen. If you expand out the Level and Date and Time Columns, you should see a bunch of errors and date and
times that are 5 minutes apart. If that’s the case, then this task is the problem.

ix.On the rightmost pane, select Disable.
x.There may be more than one scheduled task like this, so you’d need to disable any or all that were causing problems.

    xi.Restart your computer.

    Hi ConnectDebz,
According to your description and script example, do you use WinSCP.exe to perform the SFTP filestransfer? If so, you should set the Executable of the Execute Process Task to the path of the WinSCP.exe, save the script in a .txt file and set the Argument
of the Execute Process Task like “/script=C:\Temp\sftploader.txt” (without quotes).

That is correct. To modify the registry of the OS being installed you either need to place your run command-line task after the Setup Windows and ConfigMgr task or you need to load the software hive of the OS being deployed and modify it. The first option
    is far simpler.Jason | http://myitforum.com/myitforumwp/members/jasonsandys/ | Twitter @JasonSandys

How to check last run result of scheduled task? We used schtasks /query command. But it didn't displayed our manually created scheduled task status. We don't want system scheduled task status. Only
manually created scheduled task results are needed. (EX: scheduled task1: Task completedsuccessfullyOr Scheduled task1: Task completed with errors etc). Also can we create a log file with results?

    DB:3.30:Scheduled Task Status f3

No. Task Names are as Netchat_Copy, One Click Backup_Copy, Converter_Copy, etc.

DB:3.30:Run Command Line Task Sequence For A Batch File 1z

    Hi,
What's the Command line to use for running a batch file in a Run Command Line task sequence ? For example, to run a .vbs, we can successfully use cscript.exe .\script.vbs with script.vbs residing in a Package that we selected for the task
sequence. For a .cmd file, can we use .\batch.cmd or do we need to usecmd.exe .\batch.cmd in the Command Line ? Any switches needed for cmd.exe ? (batch.cmd resides in the Package that we select for the task sequence)
    Thanks

DB:3.30:Run Command Line Task Sequence For A Batch File 1z

cmd /c certainly works, but there's no real need to do that even, you can simply put the batch file's name in command-line box and by file association, cmd.exe will be called to interpret the file.Jason | http://blog.configmgrftw.com

    Hi MasterBird,
Try to double click hotfix package directly or run it in cmd without parameter, does it work? If you recieve any error message or code, please let me know.
To confirm whether the hotfix is indeed installed, we have two mothod to do that.
    1. View Windows update log or SetupAPI.log to check if the hotfix is installed correct.
    2. Compare the file version between the file in your local and file information list in website:

As Visakh pointed out that you can run the bat file directly in theSQL Server Agent job. Use the following command in the job steps:
    DECLARE @CMDSQL VARCHAR(1000)
    SET @CMDSQL = 'file path'
    EXEC master..xp_CMDShell @CMDSQL

Make sure that your Agent account has access to the bat file location. See the image:

I was wondering if there is a way to enter a command into an already open command line program (bukkit server in my case, could be anything I presume) from a batch file or Task Scheduler. I can't find anything with info on how to do this.

An example: I open a command prompt and log into something like mysql. Now every hour I want Task Scheduler to enter a command into that command prompt.

Is this possible with Task Scheduler or a batch file? (Note: I just want to know if this is possible. My examples are hypothetical.)
