I was using Firefox 14 on Macosx10.58. Firefox crashes frequently, freezing my comnputer, not responding to force quit. also has been very slow. I have updated plugins, and cleared cache. I started of on firefox 14 an hour ago, only to find that after a freeze it reverted to Firefox 12. I uptdated Firefox again, and have reset to default. I have downloaded Flash more times than I ever believed possible. I always hated Safari, loved Firefox--but after YEARS of complaints by users, I dont see why you havent fixed these problems. If reset doesnt work, or no one can come up with a reasonable solution for me, I'm dumping

I've about had it-- this problem has reached a point where
firefox, once far and away the best browser, is virtually unusable. You have had thousands of complaints from both Mac and Windows users and I personally have written multiple times for help to no avail. I dont understand, with all the technologic know how out there, that this has not been fixed. If I dont get a reply I'm done with Firefox. Am considering negative Yelp as well.

So check this out, I tried it again after clearing the cache on the phone for the Firefox for Android app. It uploaded and loaded faster.

So in this case I would recommend clearing the Firefox for Android cache. Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.
The Firefox cache temporarily stores images, scripts, and other parts of websites while you are browsing.

Note: This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.
To clear cache and cookies, do the following:

Tap the menu icon located at the top right corner. This is the icon with 3 bars. On older Android devices you'll have to press the hardware menu key and then tap More.
    Tap Settings.
After that, you will be taken to the settings screen. In the settings screen, look under the section Privacy Security and select Clear private data.
You will then be taken to a list of what can be cleared. Select the following 2 for deletion:
    Cookies active logins
    Cache

After those have been selected, tap the Clear data button to actually clear the cache and cookies.

Did this help you with your problems? Please let us know!

Addon's are the responsibility of their respective manufacturer. If you are having issues with a third party addon you might want to contact the manufacturer (Verizon/McAfee). Also make sure that your addon is up to date. If all else fails then you can try a diffrent antivirus product such as AVG(Free), ESET NOD32, or Microsoft Essentials(Free).

Hello, try to update your driver and check it again

Intel® HD graphics Driver for Windows 7* and Windows 8* 32-bit

Intel® HD graphics Driver for Windows 7* and Windows 8* 64-bit

if you update the drivers and you have the issue again then try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.

You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).

    Then perform these steps:

Click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools Options.
In the Firefox options window click the Advanced tab, then select "General".
In the settings list, you should find the Use hardware acceleration when available checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.

Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:

Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems

Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL

Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!

Do what I did - install Chrome! Works like a treat, and ahead of Firefox in development. I don't know what possessed Firefox to try and just copy everything Google is doing, but that's not a good business model. After a while I realized: why use Firefox instead of Chrome, if Firefox is just going to try to be Chrome? Couldn't be happier with my switch.

The ones starting with bp- are the ones we need. They are ones that have been submitted and may get some processing to make them useful to us.

I have often seen it mentioned that clicking on unsubmitted ones may submit them, although personally I am not certain that works, and I could not make that happen last time I tried. No doubt cor-el will explain about that.

Certainly bad crashes may interfere with crash Reporting and may result in no submission or corrupted / empty data being sent.

    Meanwhile

Please test in Firefox's safe mode
Hold down the keyboard Shift Key when clicking the icon to start Firefox,or use the menu
Help - Restart with add-ons disabled
See Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode

AND with all plugins including Flash Player disabled.

That may prevent the crashes or allow a Crash report to be submitted.

Please post back with how you get on.

    Dear Microsoft Support,

I have noticed recently that my Lenovo laptop is running incredibly slow. It runs Windows 8.1 64 bit with 4 GB of RAM. Frequently, programs like Mozilla Firefox and the Metro screen become unresponsive. I have been receiving warnings about high memory usage.
CPU usage is around 50% but disk usage hovers at around 100%. It seems most of the memory is being used up by "Service Host: Local Service". I looked at the event manager and there are a bunch of errors related to svchost. A lot of the errors listed are error
1017. I have run a malware scan and done a registry clean. I would much appreciate some help on this issue, because it has almost completely rendered my computer unusable since everything freezes constantly. I can't have more than 2 programs open at a time

A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Trying to load www.aftonbladet.se freezes all other tabs as well. It's a heavy site to load with loads of ads but still one of the best sites for news in Sweden and very frequently used by Swedes all over the world.
The site loads very slowly and scrolling in hardly possible. After some time clicking into articles/news FireFox 4 (beta 3) becomes unstable and freezes for long periods.
www.aftonbladet.se works fine in Internet Explorer (also 64-bit) and Opera. The loading is slow in the other browsers as well but once loaded there are no issues with scrolling or browsing.

    Hello,

I'm facing several issues since I brought my first Macbook Pro five months ago. The system is slow, I have several applications hangs and crashes, which most of the people say that is not normal.

I update frequently and and only have two beta versions of apps, however most of my frequently use apps show uncommon behavior like:
    - Firefox and Fireworks keeps crashing often, my dock is often slow and stops on the middle of the fish eye (I only have 18 items on my dock), hot corners stop working and inclusive Spaces.app, most of the times I only have the option to reboot, 'cause the menu don't load correctly.

In a normal day of I have Thunderbird, Firefox, Fireworks, Adium, Things and iTunes or Quicktime playing.

What you do you recommend me to do? Should I reinstall Leopard? What may be causing this?

Thank you all for your help.

DB:2.77:Leopard Issues What To Do? 1a

Can a reinstall of Leopard help?
If there is a RAM problem, as suggested by Roger, then you need to eliminate that possibility. Perhaps run the Apple Hardware Test from the Installation DVD to check that all is OK.

    My question says it all.

DB:2.77:When Will Firefox Get Rid Of Click Me As It Continally Crashes And Freezes My Computer. 37

    Quoting the-edmeister and cor-el from https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1025706

That Click Me game is part of the Humble Mozilla Bundle promotion on the default Home Page [about:home], that loads from the Mozilla servers in the "Brand Logo" (DIV) section of about:home. A feature that was first used in Firefox 29 [IIRC] just prior to the start of the Olympic Games.

Also, part of that promotion is addressed in the "Snippet" below the Search Container on the about:home page.

If you want to block the "Brand Logo" section (and the "snippet" below the Search container) from ever being seen again, you can install Stylish and this UserStyle. https://userstyles.org/styles/104673/about-home-hide-snippets-and-hide-brand-logo

If you prefer not to see the snippets on the about:home page or otherwise experience problems with a snippet then you can set the browser.aboutHomeSnippets.updateUrl pref to an empty string on the about:config page. Delete the storage\persistent\moz-safe-about+home folder in the Firefox profile folder with Firefox closed ("3-bar" Firefox menu button Exit/Quit) to remove snippets stored in IndexedDB and make Firefox use a default snippet set. You can reset the browser.aboutHomeSnippets.updateUrl pref via the right-click context menu to the default value to re-enable the snippets and make Firefox recreate the moz-safe-about+home folder. You need to close and restart Firefox after changing the value of the browser.aboutHomeSnippets.updateUrl pref.

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.

    http://kb.mozillazine.org/about:config

You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:

Help Troubleshooting Information Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)

Alternatively you can just change your home page to another web page at:

    Tools (or

    ) Options General

    DB:2.77:Pe10 Slow Crashes In Win7 64-Bit xd

    An update on this issue:

I now realize that the problem was probably due to the number of images I have in my "catalog" (like 20,000). It took quite a while (SEVERAL HOURS) for Elements to generate the "thumbnails" -- and was running slow due to this process, I think. Once I let it finish its work... all seems to be OK. This might be a helpful tip for others: WAIT FOR PHOTOSHOP TO MAKE THE CATALOG before getting frustrated.

I also have Premiere Elements 10 for video editing -- and think both programs can share the same catalog. I think I'll create several smaller catalogs, tho -- so each isn't so large.

Mozilla Firefox is driving me crazy. Despite constantly downloading the very latest version, it is so slow that it is becoming impossible to use the internet.
When I click on the Firefox icon, it usually takes between 4 - 5 minutes for Ffox to load; today I accessed Firefox Support; it took 1.26 minutes to move from page to page. Far too frequently, when I do at last access the website I want, Firefox "freezes" and "NOT RESPONDING" appears. I then have to restart my PC and go through it all again. Of course it often works, but SO SLOWLY. I have 4 megs Broadband, mostly use the PC for playing games I have purchased, I have deleted as many photos as possible; my most frequently used site would be Facebook. This is a home computer and is mostly for casual games use, nothing fancy or advanced. No music or video downloads ever. What is wrong? Is it the PC, the Broadband or, as it seems to be all the time, is it Firefox being unresponsive?
I cannot use Microsoft Internet Explorer, but if Firefox cannot find an answer, I will have to search for a new browser. Please contact me as soon as possible. Thank you.

    - I've used Firefox exclusively for around 2 years.

    - My outlook express has no problems
    - other programs seem unaffected; it seems peculiar to Firefox.
    - my main use is surfing the net, primarily entering competitions on line via specialist competition sites.
    - every day at some stage(s) I have to switch computer off as Firefox has got very slow/sticky/freezes.

I'm not techy by any means, but I can only thing of un- and re-installing to hopefully start with a clean slate.

When Firefox crashes or freezes and has to be closed, I lose all of my pinned sites. Why are these saved somewhere?

DB:2.75:When Firefox Crashes I Lose All Of My Pinned Sites. p3

App (pinned) tabs and Tab Groups (Panorama) are stored as part of the session data [1] in the file sessionstore.js [2] in the Firefox profile folder [3].

Make sure that you do not use "Clear Recent History" to clear the "Browsing History" when Firefox is closed because that prevails and prevents Firefox from opening tabs from the previous session.

    [1] http://kb.mozillazine.org/Session_Restore
    [2] http://kb.mozillazine.org/sessionstore.js

It is also possible to use:

Firefox/Tools Options General Startup: "When Firefox Starts": "Show my windows and tabs from last time"

If you use cleanup software like CCleaner then make sure that Session is unchecked in the settings for the Firefox application.

I've noticed the crashing increasing with the newer versions. The worst thing is when I'm writing a long email and then go to a page with flash and ff locks up and then crashes. I use IE now for most flash content or mission critical emailing but IE's interface is poorly laid out so I don't like it. I've tried FF with the plugin container and without it and it crashes either way (more often without the container). I use adblock and firebug. I wonder if ppl experiencing this prob are using those plugins too.
