## DB:2.81:Standardize A Flat File Format W.R.T Owb 7p

Hi Pat,

or anyone,

Can u help me to standardize a flat file format with respect to OWB?

I have 15 financial source systems. The client agreed in giving the data in csv format. Now I need to standardize the feed file so that it would be easy for me handle it in OWB. Please note depending on my standardization the client would give me the data and in turn it would be easy for me to handle it OWB External Tables. The records size for a single feed file is 1 million. So my questions are

1.How should I standardize a date field in flat file?. Please note target date field is default date in Oracle.

2.How should I standardize an address field? I.e. normally here I have 3 address fields. But I want the output in 1 field. What is the best possible methodology to do this? Or can I handle this issue in OWB front.

3.How should I standardize a feed file name (generic)?

4.How should I standardize a feed file folder (generic)? Please note the folder will reside in UNIX environment. The concept is, there would be respective folders in UNIX and the feed files would automatically fall into these respective folders in a fortnight basis. So what should I do to achieve this? I know I have to write a shell script for the automatic process. If so how will I do this and schedule it.

5.And w.r.t above question, how will I tell OWB to go and fetch the files in those folders. I know it is done while mapping. But my question is Is that the only best way I can achieve it?

6.If I left anything related to feed file, please tell me?

Please note that based on my standardization, the client would extract the data and give it to me. So if I standardize the feed file which would be easy for me to handle it in OWB, then that would be a great success. And also note this is for a long run. Minimum 10 years.

Regards,
rem.

i face this scenario to upload customer information in XML format from a local flat file to sap r/3 system by using idoc in this scenario i didn't understand the XML format form a local flat file statement what is the meaning of local flat file please send any one solution for this problem

## DB:2.73:File To Idoc pc

Hi.

If you read a XML text, the format this file is the same the data type structure developed. Now, if you read a Flat file, in the communication channel type file, you have to use File Content Conversion option.

File Content Conversion:

## DB:2.67:Dt Format In Flat File ma

Hi,

Instead of using Routines in the transformation to convert the Date format from PSA to ODS, try to convert the Date before you could send it to PSA i.e. in the Data source itself.

In the Data source, go to the fields and in the field Attributes you can see Conversion routine and FORMAT. In the Conversion Give as PDATE (CONVERSION_EXIT_PDATE_INPUT)

And in Format as External.

This will convert the Date from DDMMYYYYto SAP Required Format YYYYMMDD.

Hope it Helps.

Hauppauge 150MCE or 500MCE. The 150 is a single tuner, the 500 is a double tuner and both come with FM radio. I went with the 150MCE with plans on adding a second one if wanted at a later date. I'm getting very good quality TV with record/pause/playback on my 8400 which is almost exactly the same as yours. If HDTV is your bag then look at the cards from NVIDIA or ATI though I really don't think the HD setups are really worth the extra money at this time. Maybe in a couple more years they will be ready.

Oh and one other note here is you will need a software DVD Decoder and I highly recommend the one from NVIDIA. You can get it for a 30 day free trial and prices start at $19 up to$50 for the Platinum version. I have the Platinum version myself. You can find the PVR tuner all over the place cheaper than the Hauppauge site, I got mine from amazon.com.

That being said, it appears as though when creating the connection, the number of columns defined is obtained from the first row only. For example, the following flat file would process correctly: Peter,45,a,b,c,d,e Lois,f,h,i,j Brian,7,k,l,m,n,o Chris,q,r,s,t Meg,15,u,v,x,y Stewie,2,z,b,c because each of these rows have the same or less number of columns than the first row. The package does not error, its just the last column will contain 'jdd' for row 2 and 'taaab' for row 4. The system reads a binary representation of the internal table from the file. The data is neither converted nor interpreted in this case. Usually, reasonable results are obtained only if the internal table consists of a single column of type 'X'. 'DAT' The components of the internal table are filled from the file. If the table contains several columns, the entries in the file must be separated by tabs. No conversion exits are performed. [ eg: .TXT with tab delimited ] The following applies for the different data types: I or N or P or F The numbers must be formatted according to the decimal representation defined in the user settings. D The date must be formatted according to the date format defined in the user settings. T The time must be formatted as hh:mm:ss. 'ASC'. The components of the internal table are filled from the file. But why do not use an XML port to convert the IDoc to an XML file stored at the application server. You can then read it and store at some frontend or send it directly. ## DB:2.46:Bpel - Reading Xml And Writing To Edi Format Flat File k3

Hi,I need to read an XML file transaction data and write into the EDI format flat file. Could you please suggest any best practice for the same. Is that is possible simply using FTP adapter?I got some inputs regarding B2B but looks to be complex. Can I get a simple example for reading xml file and writing into the EDI format flat file.Kind Regards,

## DB:2.46:Bpel - Reading Xml And Writing To Edi Format Flat File k3

This can be done via File Adapter.. If you have a input XML file, that means, you can also generate the input XSD schema for that and read the file data.. In order to convert that input data into the EDI format, you must have EDI Native XSD schema to output... or you'll have make one, if it is not available OOTB.

Thanks.

## DB:2.46:Create Xml Using Stored Procedure Or Sql Jobs kf

I forgot to mention earlier, for this task you are doing it would be better to use a client application or SSIS package. The query you are using would be source to application or SSIS which would save the XML to file.
Hi Dean Savović,
You are right i create a application for saving XML file, I find that this way is secure, if we create the XML file using SQL it would be risk for us because we disable some security features with our database as listed below
--GO
--RECONFIGURE;
--GO
--sp_configure 'Ole Automation Procedures', 1
--GO
--RECONFIGURE;
--GO
--GO
--RECONFIGURE;

Do not use JSP for that. Use a servlet. You can find here an example: http://balusc.blogspot.com/2007/07/fileservlet.html

Only problem is that when I open the file in Notepad you see the following: which is what I see when I click on Columns in the flat file connection. I have CR LF for the delimiter and tried other settings but the columns do not appear correctly. Is this an issue with the file itself? I am not sure what process created these files, but this is what I have to work with - I can't modify these files. ## DB:2.45:Generate Multiple Xml Files From A Single Input File With Multiple Orders 1z

Hi ,

I have a flat file which is having multiple orders in it. Every Order will have information like shipping , Billing details etc. Now i need to create an XML for each and every order comes with the flat file.

Could you please let me know the approaches we can follow for this? The flat file format is a tab delimited file.

it is like this

s 100 200
p 123 500
R 345 789
S
B
P
R
t 100 300

The last t record indicates the Trailer which means it is the end of the file. So if we have multiple records there would be once trailer record for the multiple orders.

Here i need to create an XML for each Order that is till R Record it is one order.

On top of this every record type S - shipping have multiple fields in it. Shipping id Shipment name etc.

Please let me know the best way to achieve this.

Thanks,
Mansur

## DB:2.45:Nec Dvd R/W Won't Format mm

Using Roxio. Dell installed a new Nec and it wouldn't format discs either.
I installed Nero, uninstalled Roxio and installed a Memorex, which is supposed to r/w cd and dvd of all sizes. It will format regular 4.7g but not the mini or pocket size (50mb). Dell support says it's because my computer will not format that size, just the 4.7 or 8. Can anyone tell me if this is a hardware, firmware, software problem? And what can I do about it?

## DB:2.45:Nec Dvd R/W Won't Format mm

Hello,

I uninstalled Roxio before installing Nero.

Memorex claims that this drive will format and burn mini discs and it will recognize a previously burned or formatted mini.

When I attempt to update Memorex drivers, I get an error message, labeled NEC DRIVE FIRMWARE FLASH UTILITY: "Target NEC ND-3520A is not found correctly." This appears to be something left over from the NEC drive, but I can't find it. Device manager only shows the Memorex (which has 3520 as part of the serial #). I can format larger CD and DVD discs.

I like the drag and drop features. The CD writing wizard is a real pain.

Thank you for your interest. I hope we can get to the bottom of this.

You can try creating a new virtual machine and use the "Custom" option in the new virtual machine wizard. This will allow you to select "Use an existing virtual disk" when prompted to create a virtual disk. Here you can use the browse button and select your original virtual disk to use in this new virtual machine.

Of course, your virtual disk must not be damaged for this to work.

## DB:2.43:Ssis - Flat File Getting Locked 7f

Hi,

I have a data flow task and within the DFT, I have a flat file source connection. If there is an error in the source file/format, the task should fail and OnError event should execute and delete the file from the folder using File System Task setup within
the event handler. The flat file connection mngr is setup dynamically through variables.
Whenever, there is an issue within the flat file (format, data, and et al), the OnError event executes but the file system task to delete the file fails due to the file being used by another process. I see that OnError even doesn't execute AFTER the DFT
fails. It executes DURING the DFT is processing that Flat file source (Orange circle while OnError is executing). So obviously, the Flat File Source is using/locking the .csv and OnError is trying to delete the file. How to get around this w/o any .net scripting?

## DB:2.43:Ssis - Flat File Getting Locked 7f

@Harry Bal: This pkg I am working on is processing only a single file with specific name (e.g. Names.csv). I am OK if the file gets deleted when ETL fails at any step, in fact. I had originally used failure constraint for the DFT but then we needed to delete
the file if the pkg fails...anywhere. Also, if I am loading this file and it has 1000 rows and 999 rows are good and one is bad, I still want to delete the file @ the 1000th row failure. Hope this info helps.

I hope there is a way to do what I am trying to do..hehe

## DB:2.43:Load Hierachy To Infoobject With Flat File (Bi 7.0) df

In BI 7.0, RSDS doesnt support hierarchy datasources. So you cannot use transformations and DTP with hierarchy. So it isnt any different from the way we used to load it in 3.x.

## DB:2.43:Carriage Return As Flat-File Delimiter For File Adapter? m9

I need to process some flat files that include records delimited by carriage returns. This contrasts to the examples in the docs which assume each row of the flat file is a record.

Is there some way of getting the Native Format Builder to parse the carriage-return delimited flat files like this?

I've thought about pre-processing the files to translate the CRs into another character, but that is potentially messy (e.g. each line/record of the file can include, say, tab characters, so I can't map '\r' to '\t').

## DB:2.43:Carriage Return As Flat-File Delimiter For File Adapter? m9

I've done a lot of work with the file adapter and it works just fine with CSV files with a CR as record delimiter.

## DB:2.43:Reading File In Uft-8 Format Using Owb 7x

Hi

This should be fine, the character set can be defined for files, OWB can load a wide range of file based data from ascii, to binary, to single record to multi record etc..

The ascii based handling is simple, there is a post on the blog illustrating more complex cases;

Steve ## DB:2.41:Ordered My Dimension 9100 km I purchased a Dell 9100 three weeks ago and its been an unsatisfying experience. The CD Rom drives ran and sounded like airplanes when playing CD's, and when not playing music there was a hum and sporadic static from the external speakers and through the headphone jack. The only good thing was the hard drive (250 G) which ran very quiet. Dell sent me a new CPU under warranty to replace the old one. This basically solved some problems and created another. While the CD Rom drives definitely run quieter, and the hum and static are no longer an issue, the 2nd if of the 2 driveswill not play a DVD and worse than that, the hard drive is a combination of snap, crackle and grind, even with the easiest of tasks. It is much noiser than the first. This is completely unacceptable in my mind. Dell finally agreed to send over a tech, who am waiting to hear from, but I suspect the conclusion will be that the hard drive should be replaced. If that is the case, I'll pretty much be done with Dell. • RELEVANCY SCORE 2.41 ## DB:2.41:Flat File And Idoc ds Hi, Is it possible to read a flat file and create the sale order through IDoc. I know this could be parsed line by line, but that seems silly. It seems like there should be a way to ignore columns beyond a certain point (e.g. Format Delimited Ragged Right). Is there some way to do this with a directly with a flat file connection? Thanks, --Andrew ## DB:2.41:Best Practice For Ragged Delimited Text Import fc If you are guaranteed to have at least one more column than the required ones, you can configure the columns you care about with the tab delimiter, and then a final column with the CR/LF delimiter that will get the rest of the row. If not (and it looks like you can't, from your example), then you'll have to configure the last required column with the CR/LF delimiter. That way the last column will hold the last value that you want, and the rest of the row, if it exists. Then use a Derived Column transform with the FINDSTRING and SUBSTRING functions to get everything up to the tab. Thanks Regards, Shreyas ## DB:2.41:Converting Custom Flat File To Flat File Of Idoc Type Wmmbid02 p3 This will only work if you have a idoc downloaded as a flatfile in the aplication server. In all other cases you have to write a cuctom program. You need to read the flat file into an internal table and populate the EDID4 and the EDIDC internal tables. For all other cases where you have an existing idoc this will work. Go to a server and find yourself an idoc that you want to use as a template. Display the idoc using WE19. Click Inbound file Type in a file name - for example /tmp/test (you need to use an AL11 directory). Make sure the option 'Start inbound idoc processing of the file immediately' is unchecked. Choose overwrite file Then click the tick. This will write you an idoc into the AL11 directory structure in the system you are operating in. Using the download and upload functions (CG3Z CG3Y), get the file transferred to the production AL11 directories. Use WE19 to process your downloaded idoc. Use the option 'File as template' to pick up your file. You should now be able to process your idoc as you wish regards Aveek • RELEVANCY SCORE 2.40 ## DB:2.40:Hey Dogbert.... mj ...where is my last post? but I am using one handler to change the master page based on the library name.

## DB:2.40:Open Menu Is Not Trigging 78

Hi Victoria,
I believe the below info is some what clear.
1. Root site [iRSite] - (Publishing Site ) - Custom Master Page
- Pages, Library and List
2. SiteCollection - [RSite]- (Team Site ), have 50 SiteCollection, 45 site have - Orange Template (MasterPage), 3 site have - Blue Template (MasterPage), and 2 site have - Gray Template (MasterPage).
- Pages, Library and List
3. SiteCollection - [RcomSite] - (Team Site)- Custom Master Page (Same iRSite MasterPage), Have 3 site collections.
1. Site collection - Only for Videos
2. Site Collection - Only for Discussion
3. Site Collection - Only for Wiki Pages.
Which are all comes under RSite mapped path sitecollection, those sitecollections related videos, discussion, and Wiki page libraries are Maintaining in the [RComSite] mapped path sitecollections respectively.
and the library name is like :
RSite sitecollection name is ABCSite na,
the Video library name is ABCSiteTube
the Discussion board name is ABCSiteDiscuss
the Wiki folder name is ABCSiteWiki.

Scenario 1:
Lets say , IfABCSite template is ORANGE
I am going from ABCSite to Video site to the corresponding libraryABCSiteVideo, I am passing one Querystring values = O, based on the QueryString value i am overriding the master page for the particular page. applying Orange Master page
If am going for any gray template site to [RCSite] site collection, I need to change the master page based on the query string value = G, applying Gray master page.
Same for Blue template site.

Scenario 2:
If admin gose to directly to RCSite [let say Tube site, Discussion site, Wiki Site] the default custom master page will display.
But, If he select ABCSiteTube , we are displaying theABCSite master page [Orange Master Page].
If he selectABCSiteWiki libarary, we are displayinbg Oranage Master page.
if he selectABCSiteDiscussion, we are displaying Oranger master page

By Handler.
If he select any Blue Template related Video, Wiki and Discussion libraries , we need to display Blue template master page instead of default master page.
similar for Gray template.

All master page changes are done by handler using query string value.

This is my functionality.

## DB:2.40:Loading Flat File For Budget Value In Sap Bi -Need Format fj

Dear all,

we have a report in which we have a key figure Budget Price which we have to load from flat file for material.

we have pulled all required data from r/3 the layout of report is like this (except budget price which we have to upload from Flat file)

the report fields are like this

Material code

Vendor code Vendor name

Plant

Purchase Org

Purchase Order

Purchase order date

landed price

Budget price

Variance (budget price-landed price)

(we pulled all the fields data above ...except budget price above)

so please suggest me FLAT FILE structure , what all the fields i have to include in the flat file

and i am thinking to upload this flat file to a infocube and create a multiprovider over 0pur_c01 and this infocube (zinfocube)

Also help me with the step by step process of loading a flat file from application server

regards

## DB:2.40:Loading Flat File For Budget Value In Sap Bi -Need Format fj

variance is calculated based on budget price which has to be uploaded from flat file.

and also

if I Use only material code and budget price to create my IC and then multiprovider.

then in my report when i join multiprovider using only material...and my report has plant, purchorg,Purchase order number .PO Date and then these kf's if i join only using material ..in my report i cant see the kf's against other characeteristics right?

can you suggest me file format....based on the fields i have mentioned above..

## DB:2.40:Flat File With Different Date Format d3

Hi,

I have create a flat file with different date format.

Eg :

ID Name Pur_Date Location Exp_Date

01 Gan 01-1-2012 UK 20-12-2013 05:22:10

How to change the flat file and load to target file in database.

plz help

Thanks

Ganesh

## DB:2.40:Flat File With Different Date Format d3

Hi Ganesh,

Date is very tuff data type to Handel.

try to read date as string column and as you claming that formats are different

use a decode function to identify the format and convert that date into one standard date format which is easily loaded into data base.

informatica can support date upto nano seconds.

but coming to date with formats like cyymmdd then you have make your won transformation logic.

Sanjeevi

## DB:2.40:Weird Random Websites In My Memory.Dmp 3z

So my PC bluescreened for the first time ever (which isn't the point of this thread) tonight and I hadn't the slightest clue on how to read my MEMORY.DMP, so I decided to start with Notepad, eventually getting to opening it with specifically the UTF-8 encoding
option selected. At the bottom, it has this random string of what seems to be garbled HTML and websites that I have never visited before, but with a space in between each character.

This is weird, because I just visited some of these websites (some of them are blank, others are scams) and I haven't visited one that I've seen on that list since the check in Notepad.

I'd just like to show everyone this weird thing that I have noticed. Anyone know what its purpose is?

You may have a wrong dump file. This issue occurs because the dump generation logic saves the processor context to the dump file incorrectly on a computer that has the XState feature enabled.

Use Workbooks.Open(...) method which takes the XLS file pathto open. It returns a reference to the Workbook object if succeeded.Otherwise this action raises a COM exception. Sorry but I don'tknow how to handle COM exceptions in a general way. (I thinkthe Error Out control may report an error if failed.)Makoto"east" wrote in messagenews:50650000000800000009160000-983677784000@quiq.com...
