DB:5.37:What Exactly Is The Term "Bootstrap" 9c

Can somebody provide a clear explanation to what "bootstrap" means?

DB:5.37:What Exactly Is The Term "Bootstrap" 9c

Sure. I'll avoid java and just blab about the problem in general.

All computers are designed with some ability to be started at a particular memory address. If there are no instructions in that memory located, well, the computer won't get very far.

Alternatively you could type in - somehow - a very large program. In fact, to do very much - say read from a disk - you might have to type in an awful lot. No fun.

So a challenge is to write a very small amount of code so the computer can start, and have that code load a larger amount of code and jump into it. That's bootstrapping.

    A few other random notes:

o Most, if not all, computers are designed so that the lowest level of bootstrap is stored somewhere in read-only memory - no typing required.

o You can view the process of getting a complete operating system - or a runtime system like java - as a bootstrapping operation: Start with something simple and limited, and birng up something complex and powerful.

DB:3.13:Significance Of Id Sap-Ui-Bootstrap In The Bootstrap 1c

    Hi Amjad,

    From my point of view,

sap-ui-bootstrap - Naming Convention . It conveys that the loading of the script bootstraps the application.

Giving the id, now will also let them have the control of the script tag to be accessible from the framework.

Has anyone heard the term 0 base schedule? If so can someone define exactly what this means?
    Thanks.

    DB:3.03:0 Base Schedule 7x

    Leah12,
The more common concept is zero based budgeting but he same concept would apply to scheduling.
The basic premise is simple. Instead of creating a new budget or schedule based on a previous model (e.g. last year's budget or schedule), you start with a blank sheet. It doesn't mean you can't use historical data as a guide but you don't start with a template.
The idea is to not be biased by what you already have but to rethink the process as if you were starting from scratch, because you are.
For more in-depth discussion you might want to do a Google search.
    Hope this helps.

    Hey there,

We have developed a managed metadata set for use in people's profiles, for skills , etc.
We have developed a custom search page that allows you to enter words into textboxes corresponding to each property, and the results return people that match the words inputted. What we would like to have happen is to be able to look at the term set tree
structure and select a term to search, as well as a text box. Think of how it works when you're uploading a document to a library and you have to input the metadata, the text boxes that are managed metadata have the little icon next to the text box that lets
you search through the term set and select a term. we want EXACTLY that, but on our search page. Is there any way to achieve this?

    DB:3.01:Searching Via Metadata ss

You will have to write a custom control that reads your metadata and then constructs the query you desire based on that selection.

    Hey H G,

    RF 5.0.0.Alpha1 ~= RF 4.3.2.Final

It means there is no specific support for LESS/Bootstrap.

There are some more details in roadmap: https://community.jboss.org/message/823882

We were able to prototype support of Bootstrap in Sandbox:

    https://bootstrap-richfaces.rhcloud.com/

However we are focusing on leveraging full potential of LESS and Bootstrap family in RichFaces 5.

    Alpha2 will bring first fruits.

Looking for feedback on this and what other people are doing....

When is the best time to run your bootstrap backup? Curently we backup the client indexes with the client backup and the bootstrap by doing a FULL backup of the backup server bu right in the middle of our production backups.

Is this the right way? What is the best practice?

I would think the bootstrap backup should run after your last nightly backup completes so you have all the latest indexes plus you backup server configuration in the event ift had to be rebuilt.

    Thanks

    DB:2.94:Bootstrap Backup ax

    Hi Ken,

    I follow the following practise,

    1) I run an index save to my bootstrap tape after a client backup - This gives me the latest index in case there is a server crash during the backup window.

    2) I run a full index save in the mornings, just before the tapes leave for offsite storage - this is to get the indexes for disaster recovery requirements.

Note: I backup my indexes to the bootstrap because there will be only 1 tape required to perform complete NetWorker server recovery.

    Hope this helps.

I did add JAXB 2.1 to the projects libraries, so I can't make any sense of the error. What exactly is the bootstrap class loader and why doesn't it load the correct API?The bootstrap bootloader is what loads the runtime libraries of the JRE. It's what loads the classes that you don't explicitely need to mention on the classpath. It seems that the JRE you are using already comes with the classes for JAXB 2.0. Since these have the same names than the classes in JAXB 2.1 you can't simply load newer versions of those classes later on (i.e. outside of the bootstrap bootloader).

You could either change the bootstrap classpath (NOT SUGGESTED!) or place the JAXB 2.1 libraries in the correct directory for it to be loaded by the bootstrap bootloader. The keywords for this is the "endorsed directory mechanism". Google for details on that.No need to google for anything here, this is a lovely problem that helpfully tells you exactly where to look for a solution

It seems like just a method to set data into your tables, like the table model? Anyone have a more in depth explanation than the one in the docs, I would appreciate it!!!

    Thanks,

    ~KZ

DB:2.87:What Exactly Is The "Cell Factory?" as

Damn you went really hard on this one, thanks! So it seems it's like I was thinking, just a way to edit the data in the cells, and every table HAS a DEFAULT cell factory? From the API it seemed like it was something seperate, but maybe they meant a custom cell factory with the check box.

Basically all I need is to be able to have column headers as people's names, and then under it have their score(for a game I'm creating). Nothing really fancy. I've used Swing Tables before without needing a table model, so it seems like it's about the same with regards to how the FX table is used. Graphics seem awesome, but I don't think they are needed.... MAYBE later....

I appreciate your time spent on this Q, I will run your code later when I have some time :).

Also I was curious, why did you use a map for the images?

I have only used Stacks, Queues, Trees, LinkedLists and Arrays for Collections(Data Structures) but I've been curious about hash maps and the few other cases, but those seem rarely used(At least from what I've seen). Why are we using a hash map for the images?

    Thanks again for everything!!!!

Can anyone tell me what exactly this means.

DB:2.87:Service Based Revenue Recognition (U0091bu0092) Contract With Call Off sx

    Dear sap

The contract consists of items defining the individual materials, material groups, or services with prices and in many cases quantities.

An item is assigned to an item category, which defines the type of procurement (e.g. item category K for consignment, or L for subcontracting).

An item of the procurement type "external service" contains a set of service specifications. Such specifications may be hierarchically structured. The summary view of such a hierarchical structure is termed an "outline", and the individual levels of the hierarchy are referred to as "outline levels". Quantities are specified in service lines. Services can be released (iordered, or called off against the contract/i) at item level or at the level of the service line.

    Thanks

The boot code is a cut down version of IOS which is only used to load in a full IOS version.

The only reason to upgrade the boot code is if you upgrade the router with new hardware interfaces, over which you may wish to download a full IOS using the boot code, if the existing boot code does not have support for them.

Its the version of your rom (rommon mode):

ROM-ROM is generally the memory on a chip or multiple chips. It is available on a router's processor board. It is read-only, which means that data cannot be written to it. The initial software that runs on a Cisco router is called the bootstrap software and is usually stored in ROM. The bootstrap software is invoked when the router boots up.

    Hello All,

We have some scheduled backups wherein the backup data and index / bootstrap of that particular client configuration goes to the same tape where the backup data is sent. After the savesets are written to disk, it waits for nearly 10 - 15 minutes and then starts writing index / bootstrap backup. This is happening for all scheduled backups.

Please suggest what might be the cause for this issue .

    Pratik,

Please consider moving this question to the proper forum for maximum visibility. Questions written to the users' own "Discussions" space don't get the same amount of attention and questions can go unanswered for a long time. You can do so by selecting "Move" under ACTIONS along the right. Then search for and select: "NetWorker Support Forum" which would be the most relevant for this question. There is also a recent post demonstrating the steps to do the same:

EMC Community Network Frequently Asked Questions

Seeing though that over a month has elapsed since you posted, maybe you have already found the answer (possibly opened up a ticket with support)? If so, once relocated, consider sharing the resolution and also marking the question as "Answered" so that it can help others that have the same question. If not, once relocated, it will then have more visibility by the community of dedicated customers, partners, and EMC employees that are eager to assist.

    Thanks.

    D

    DB:2.81:Rotary Group - Isdn zz

    Hello,

I think the term rotary can indeed suggest that B-channels are switched based on availability, but that is not the case. A rotary group is basically a tool to have multiple physical BRI interfaces inherit the configurations from a Dialer interface, thereby easing the configuration process and avoiding human errors. Usually, in order for B-channels to be switched based on availability, you need to request a hunt group from the Telco, which lets incoming calls be dynamically routed to a free line on any of the interfaces in your rotary group.

Rotary groups are considered legacy, it is better to configure Dialer Profiles instead.

    Hello,

I have questions regarding the MDS platform. I'll be very glad if you can answer me to the following:

    1) Is the term FCOT (Fibre Channel optical transmitter) identical to the term SFP (small form-factor pluggable)?

    2) What exactly means ELP and ESC failure on interface?

    Cheers,

    Dancho

    DB:2.74:Mds Term Misunderstanding 1a

    1) Yes, an FCOT is commonly reffered to as an SFP.

    2) ELP = Exchange Link Parameter (or Protocol?)

    ESC = Exchange Switch Capabilities

These both have to do with link discovery and negotiation. If you have a failure of this kind on an interface, it would mean your port failed to negotiate a link with whatever its connected to. There are many possible reasons for the errors and would require further investigation...possibly a trace.

    Hope that helps...

Just keep swimming...just keep swimming...just keep swimming, swimming, swimming....

    DB:2.74:What Exactly Is Gardening? md

When one is "gardening", they are letting their accounts age and "grow". No new accounts should be added during this time, nor should one app for any new accounts/cards. It's probably the best thing you can do if you are aiming for a particular score or card in the near future. Some people garden for 6 months, others garden for years. It all depends on your goals, scores, etc.

Here's an example... I am going to apply for the Amex Zync this coming week. If I am denied, I am going to start "gardening" for about 6 months and give it another go after my new Discover More card has been added to my reports and has 5-6 months of age. If I am approved, I will probably still garden and let my current accounts age a little bit before I apply for something else.

    Hope this answers your question!

It's literally the closet with all the wiring.  I.e. generally where all the user data and/or telecom wiring is found; the local area wiring hub.  For data, it's also generally were the edge access ports are found (which in turn uplink to another device, often found somewhere else).

These closets generally are kept locked.  If not, the actual devices within them are often found in a cage that's locked.

Another term that's related is "IDF", but that denotes more the function than the physical location.  I.e. user edge devices might even be found in a data center.

create bootstrap - Factory Finder - Factory - remote object.

Bcos I wanna have some error recovery logic, (I mean re-initializing
the reference of remote object when there is exception caught during

I have done some simple testing and seems that even the server

I tried to delete the bootstrap and recreate it, but I am afraid of,

Shall I use only one bootstrap in the program, or shall I keep one
bootstrap for each thread? (I tried to keep one for each thread, but
seems that it always cause unexpected error...)

Is there any method for the Bootstrap that can re-init its connection

WLE C++ is not threaded and cannot be compiled with threaded libraries.
This is probably one of the problems you have. You need to make any WLE
    C++ be a non-threaded application.

Only one bootstrap can be active at onetime in a WLE program. There can
be only 1 security current and only one transaction current for a WLE
    program at any given time.

How does NetWorker perform a bootstrap backup after every group runs?

As per my understanding, the Networker bootstrap will back up every time every group runs.

In the case that If there is two group running together at the same timeframe (eg: both backup start at 8PM), and the first group backup completed at 9PM, will the bootstrap backup kick start for the first group? or it will wait until the second group completed (9:15PM), and the bootstrap will perform the backup at one shot.

    How does this algorithm work?

What is the full command that I can verify the bootstrap backup status?

    Best Regards,

    CS

    DB:2.70:Queries About Networker Bootstrap pf

    Hello Chin,

Here i will give you a example, it might help you understand better.

Lets consider NetWorker server name is "abc" (which has only one instance) and placed under group "xyz".

    Scenario 1:

If this client instance for abc is placed under group xyz, which scheduled to start automatically every day(sheduled to run), then the bootstrap backup will happen only after xyz group completes. No bootstrap backup happens for other groups.

    Scenario2:

If the abc is placed under group xyz, which is not scheduled (or set to skip) to start automatically every day. Then after every group completes bootstrap gets backed up.

    Considering your scenario,

    1. Client A (first group) scheduled backup completed.

    2. Networker will perform the Bootstrap backup.

    3. Client B (second group) scheduled backup completed.

    4. Networker will perform the Bootstrap backup

This holds good, if the netwoker sever is not placed in scheduled group.

You really should start a new thread on something like this, but, the answer to your question is no, smart View or the Add-in will not write back to a lrelational DB. (assuming you are not talking about co0mments or annotations in planning). It only writes to Essbase or HFM (and Planning since it uses Essbase). To do what you want, you would either need to write a custom interface or use a product like Dodeca. Dodeca has that built in to make it eas. Disclaimer, I don't work for Applied OLAP I just think the product is really good.

Does this mean that we can create workflows just by using the the activity library comes with visual studio without writing any(or minimum) custom code/activties? or does this term means that we can create workflows, activites, properties and everything directly through Xaml file? haris

    DB:2.69:Term Declarative Workflows? 8a

Piling on a touch to this - the concept of declarative programming is separating the description of what is being accomplished from the actual mplementation of accomplishing it.You have the basic right of the concept, but the idea of declarative programming is that the XAML code describes the logic of what you want to accomplish, and there is a clean separation from the code that accomplishes the work (in the case of WF, we're encapsulating the logic in custom activities). In WF4, you can also create declarative activities (XAML activities that abstract the execution of other activities), but one of the key markers of declarative workflows is the lack of a code-behind/beside. Although you could accomplish this in WF3 (using XOML-only workflows), it was much more painful to accomplish.Hope this helps,Cliff

    DB:2.69:Multiplicity In Badi zc

what is the term multiplicity in BADIs, have you ever heard this term explain

    DB:2.69:Multiplicity In Badi zc

    hi,

The multiplicity is the number of participating objects in one class that have a relationship to an object..

UML (Unified Modeling Language) is a standardized modeling language. It is used for the specification,

construction, visualization and documentation of models for software systems and enables uniform

    communication between various users.

UML does not describe the steps in the object-oriented development process.

UML is an industry standard and has been standardized by the OMG (Object Management Group) since

September 1997 as UML Version 1.1. The members of the OMG are continuously developing it further.

SAP uses UML as the company-wide standard for object-oriented modeling.

UML describes a number of different diagram types in order to represent different views of a system.

Use-case diagrams show the relationships between agents and actions (use cases), that is, they represent

external system behavior from the users point of view.

Class diagrams show the static view of a model.

Interaction diagrams demonstrate the relationships and method calls between objects.

Sequence diagrams emphasize the timing sequence of the method calls, while collaboration diagrams

focus more on the object relationships and their topology.

Status diagrams show a sequence of statuses that an object can adopt during its lifetime, and the stimuli

that cause this status to change.

Activity diagrams are a special type of status diagrams. They mostly or exclusively contain activities.

Component diagrams show the organization and dependencies of components.

Distribution diagrams represent the dependencies of software and hardware.

    Class name

    lcl_airplane

    + denotes public attributes/methods

    denotes private attributes/methods

    denotes protected attributes/methods

    _ Static attributes/static methods

    are marked with an underscore

    Methods

    name: string

    count: i

    lcl_airplane

    + set_name(im_name: string)

    + get_count(): i

    UML

A class diagram describes the elements contained in the model and their various static relationships. There

are two basic forms of static relationships:

Associations (for example, a flight customer books a flight)

Generalization/specialization (for example a cargo plane and a passenger plane are planes)

Classes can also be shown with their attributes and methods in the class diagrams.

An association describes a semantic relationship between classes. The specific relationship between

objects in these classes is known as an object link. Object links are therefore the instances of an

    association.

An association is usually a relationship between different classes. However, an association can also be

recursive; in this case, the class would have a relationship with itself. In most cases, recursive associations

are used to links two different objects in one class.

The points below assume that the associations are binary.

Each association has two roles, one for each direction of the association (flight booking-customer,

customer - flight booking). Roles can have names (for example, the association flight-flight booking could

    be called reservations).

Each role has a cardinality that shows how many instances participate in this relationship. The multiplicity is

the number of participating objects in one class that have a relationship to an object in the other class.

    UML notation:

An association is represented by a line between the class symbols.

The cardinality of the relationship can be shown at each end of the line.

Associations can be given a name for ease of identification (a verb or a short text). This name is written in

italics above the line and may have a arrow to show the direction. Both are optional.

Aggregation is a special kind of association. Aggregation describes one object that contains another or

consists of other objects (whole-part). An airplane consists of wings. The relationship can be described by

the words consists of or is a part of.

    UML notation for aggregation:

An aggregation, like an association, is represented by a line between two classes, which then additionally

has a small rhombus at one end. The rhombus is always at the aggregate end, that is, the whole object

end. Otherwise the notation conventions are the same as for associations.

Composition is a special kind of aggregation. Composition describes the fact that the object contained

cannot exist without the aggregate (for example, a flight booking cannot exist without the relevant flight).

    Differences between composition and aggregation:

The cardinality on the aggregate side can only be one. Each part is only part of one composite object,

otherwise the existence dependency would be contradictory. The lifetime of the individual parts is linked to

the lifetime of the aggregate: parts are created either with or immediately after the aggregate, and they are

destroyed either with or immediately before the aggregate.

    UML notation for composition:

Like aggregation, composition is shown as a line between two classes and marked with a small rhombus

on the aggregate side. However, in contrast to aggregation, the rhombus is filled in.

    UML notation:

Generalization and specialization are denoted by triangular arrows that point from the subordinate class to

    the superclass.

Several arrows can be summarized into a tree.

Hope this is helpful, Do reward.

I've been kindly notified from a previous post that the bootstrap has to be backed up to the NW server, OK fine but what I need to do is get the bootstrap on to a physical tape somehow whenever I do a backup to either the NW server or a node. I am aware that I can clone a group (with the NW servers in it) but this will only copy the bootstrap when that group is backed up.

Is there a good way of getting the bootstrap cloned whenever any backup takes place?

    Thanks in advance

    Ian

    DB:2.67:Bootstrap Clones fx

    Ian,

There are many ways to achieve this but as you are not experienced probably the easiest way to achieve this is to set up a group which only has your NetWorker server in it and set the saveset to something small backing up a file or small directory. Then set this to run on a frequency you require (interval in the group can give you one backup a day set to 24, 2 set to 12 etc). Set the group to do a clone to a tape pool which is only available in the Physical library and this will clone the bootstrap and the small backup to physical tape.

You do not need to clone every bootstrap, as long as you have one available that is what you need. Many people do this backup after the main backups have gone through (early morning) and again just before the backup window starts (so you catch nay failures etc which you have taken care of during the day).

If I have a product with SNP horizon of 35 days, which means that the product is planned in SNP only after 35 days from today. Only PPDs deals with orders in these 35 days.

    I have a 3 planning books

short term with 30 days from today

medium term with 7 months from today and

long term with 2 years from today.

When I say short, medium and long term planning in SNP what exactly happens in these ?? What do users usually do in these books?

SNP horizon is 35 days and the short term book is 30 days long, in which SNP does nothing. What's the use of this book?

    Thanks.

DB:2.67:Short, Medium And Long Term Planning In Snp 13

When I say short, medium and long term planning in SNP what exactly happens in these ??

Nothing much from a technical stand point.

What do users usually do in these books?

Check the Time Bucket Profile for the different books. The short Term Book will be in days, the mid term in weeks and the long term in months/quarters etc. The different books allows users to see the keyfigures in different time-based aggregate level.

But if Heuristic is executed then behaviour will be different. Remember SNP Location Heuristic run uses the bucket of the data view to compute the Net Requirement and then try creating Receipts in each bucket within the time horizon of the data view using suitable master data. So if you run Location Heuristic in the short Term (daily) view then you will have many receipts one per day most likely. If you run in mid-term Weekly view then there are less number of receipts one receipt per week till 7 months. likewise for the long term view.

SNP horizon is 35 days and the short term book is 30 days long, in which SNP does nothing. What's the use of this book?

Maybe just to see the data. Location Heuristic run will not generate any new receipt.

    Thanks,

    Somnath

    Hi,

jcontrol failed to start, can be due to many factors.

1.kernel mismatch can completely stop jcontrol.check if proper kernel is updated.

2.memory issues also will stop jcontrol.check for heapsize settings in configtool.

restart the machine and try once.

You don't need to upgrade the bootstrap/bootroms on a 2500.

Usually, it's recommanded to sync the bootimage with the main image (ie if you have 12.1(5) as the main image you should also use a 12.1(5) boot image). This is not the case for 25xx where bootimages are on a bootrom and are not meant to be synced with the main ios running on the router.

    DB:2.66:Long Term Planning 99

what is long-term planning in SAP??

    DB:2.66:Long Term Planning 99

    Hi,

Long-term planning is the key element in a company's long-term success and has a critical impact on its future. Fast-changing market demands and short product life cycles force enterprises to continuously evaluate and optimize their supply chains. Companies have to use marketing and financial plans as a basis for deciding on the sourcing, production, and distribution of products to meet customer requirements at competitive costs. As strategic decisions are linked to costs, it is difficult to change them at short notice. It is therefore vital that companies make their long-term decisions carefully, achieving a long-term cost-effective and profitable solution to guarantee the company`s effectiveness.

SAP R/3 has a highly integrated Production Planning System. The PP module is divided into two Sub-modules, 'PP-PI' and 'Production General'. PP-PI sub-module is designed for process industries like Oil and Gas.

The Production Planning module of SAP takes care of Master data needed like Bill Of Materials, Routings and Work Centers and stores it in one separate component.

Various stages of the planning system can be planned by using components like

    Sales and Operation Planning

    Long Term Planning

    Demand Management

    Materials Requirement Planning

SAP has distinguished various styles of production like Kanban, Repetitive Manufacturing and Production Order processing. It can take care of various planning strategies like 'Make-to-stock', 'make-to-order', 'planning without final assembly' etc.

SAP R/3 PP module can also plan Capacity. The capacity Planning sub-module takes into account various capacities like pooled capacity etc.

Production Orders reporting has flexibility of confirming orders with or without backflush. The material can be staged to production site from the Warehouse after releasing the order. Costing can be triggered automatically by integrating the module with the Cost Accounting Module.

Integration with other modules like Material management, Financial Accounting, Cost Accounting, Human Resources Development, Sales and Distribution etc adds on to reliability of the production planning system in SAP R/3. The system is a real time system. The changes in demand (cancelled or added sales order etc) and supply (high/low rejection, early/late supply from supplier, breakdown of facilities etc) are reflected in real time and the production controller can react fast to these changes.

SAP R/3 PP module is a very effective tool for production planning. As it gives many alternatives, it must be configured correctly to reach optimum utilization.

2 different things. Bootstrap is a CSS Framework for building Responsive Web Layouts.

HTML5 is a document type declaration.

    !doctype html

You can generate HTML5 doc types in DW by selecting that option when you create new documents. The CSS code is entirely up to you. This could be custom CSS that you create in DW or from a pre-built framework like Bootstrap, Foundation Zurb, Skeleton, etc...

This was the last settings I tried with, but without any success:

    LIST name="vybrid-qspi-led" desc="Boot Vybrid FW"CMD state="BootStrap" type="boot" body="BootStrap" file="u-boot.imx"Loading U-boot/CMDCMD state="BootStrap" type="jump" Jumping to OS image. /CMDCMD state="Updater" type="push" body="qspiinit dev=0"Initializing QSPI/CMDCMD state="Updater" type="push" body="pipeqspi addr=0x50000000" file="files/FNLD_A.bin"Sending and writing QSPI Led Sample/CMDCMD state="Updater" type="push" body="$ !"Done/CMD
    /LIST

I would be very appreciated for any hints or answers, thank you in advance.
