    Hi there.

    Can anyone help me to solve my problem?

    Today i opened my ePO. Maybe some updates was installed i don't know cause we have WSUS deployed on network.

    And there some errors. I had read many discussion on many communities and there some hints:

    MySQL connects perfect and work 100%.

    db.properties is correct too

    no mysql login errors appear

    What i gona do now to fix that?

    DB:4.51:Epo 4.6.5 Logon Screen Errors a3

    From the look of the error message, ePO cannot find one (or possibly more) of the extensions that it needs. (In this case it looks like an extension called Response, which is one of the core extensions.)

    This can be caused by a number of things - a problem in the database, or the filesystem: there are three things that need to all be correct for an extension to load. I would suggest opening a case with Support for this as they will need to go through and check that the DB and filesystem are all correct.

    Hello Carl,

    1. Provide the complete error message you receive in Outlook 2013.

    2. When do you receive the error message in Outlook 2013?

    You may try to remove and re-add the email account in Outlook 2013 which would start the synchronization process and might help to resolve the issue.

    If the issue still persists, create new profile in Outlook 2013 then configure an email account and verify the status.

    Refer to the article mentioned below on how to create new profile in Outlook:

    Note: The steps mentioned in the above article holds good for Outlook 2013 as well.

    ...

    It works perfectly.I was just wondering how many connections are opened during the script, and when are they closed?Does QV 'remember' that the connection has been established before?Does it make sense/ does pay off to invest the efforts to get the connections in better order, to reduce the number of connects?

    DB:3.57:Re: Too Many Open Connections From Tomcat To Mysql? 1m

    I did close the result set connections manually, however the MySQL server was still seeing it as an active connection. It turned out to be a Tomcat 6 configuration issue.

    What I ended up doing was:

    1) Changing the maxWait parameter in the context.xml file to "15" (15sec) to remove the closed connection.
    2) Changed the removeAbandonedTimeout to "15" from 60 to lessen the time that the closed connections are removed
    3) Changed the timeBetweenEvictionRunsMillis from 180000 to 900

    Closing the resultset was doing nothing while the maxWait time was set to 5000 seconds. The connections were still being labeled as active even though they were abandoned and closed from the JVM's standpoint. (I think I explained that correctly). I tried to change the MySQL wait timeout, but that was a big mistake.

    DB:3.57:Re: Too Many Open Connections From Tomcat To Mysql? 1m

    Actually BalusC, I like this. This seems to define the entire cycle quite nicely and CLEAN. This will be very helpful when phase II rolls out. Right now I need to just patch the thing and get it running "well".

    I've also had to implement some new methods to clean up some of the junk that is left open. I have found RS's that are closed, but no corresponding connection / statement's are being closed. So when I have a return statement like:

    return ConnectionPool.getConnection().createStatement().executeQuery(sqlStatement);
    {code]

    that is called from the presentation layer, logically (to me) the only place to close the connection / statement associated with that RS is in the presentation layer. As of right now. This will change on phase II. If I am wrong please correct me in this.

    Something that is happening now though since I have started explicitly closing the connections and statements. It seems that my ConnectionPool is running out of connections. I can increase the size of the pool, but it worked just fine before with the amount of connections I have set. When I call .close() on the connection, does that "recycle" the connection back to the pool? I know there has to be resources bleeding someplace, however, this has only started happening (more often) since I have been closing things where I find them.

    Any ideas on this?

    Also will converting the basic generic queries to stored procedures help in the performance? I know that I'll still have to have a connection, but if I can have less java coded sql statements and more SP's would that help in efficiency between MySQL and Tomcat?

    DB:3.41:Too Many Connections From Your Host pc

    For this to happen i guess they have a bad senderbase reputation, ie below -1.0?What you can do is that you can add the IP-adress into a new SenderGroup in your Host Access Table (HAT overview) with a "Mail Flow Policy" that allows more connections from their IP-adress. Don't allow too many though if they have problems in their network, and make sure Anti-virus scanning and Spam control is enabled in the Policy settings too.You can indentify which "SenderGroup" your ISP is connecting into and what SenderBase repuataion score they might have. Use "message tracking" in WebUI, or "findevent" in command line interface to find this out. /F

    We have a problem that has just begun over the last 48/72 hours and our Plesk server running ARTs MySQL is consistently giving too many connections messages etc. etc. and the MySQL service keeps restarting.

    Being very green to the platform (standing in for someone more senior in their absence) all Ive done so far is to reboot the server, which Ive had to do twice now, but it doesnt seem to be resolving anything.

    Does anyone have a similar experience that theyve dealt with and can throw some light on?

    Thanks.

    DB:3.18:Snaq Db Pool - Connection Overflow xd

    Hi Community!

    I'm developing a j2ee application using tomcat server 5.5, JRE 1.5.0 and as a backend MySQL.

    To manage my connections to the DB im using the DB Pool from SNAQ.

    My problem is im using a bunch of connection in different classes, closing them after im done (they are not getting closed, just pushed back into the db pool i read) and after a while (approx 1min) my DB says "Too many connections".

    I initialized my DB Pool as follows:
    //ConnectionPool(poolname,maxpool,maxconn,expiry,url,username,password)
    connectionPool = new ConnectionPool("BaseDB", 10, 100, 2000, cs, "root", "");
    and retrieve it via Singleton pattern (ConnectionPool.getInstance().getConnection())

    I checked the MySQL processes and realized all connection run in sleep mode, so they are all still open. With the MYSQL limitation of 100 connections the limit is beeing reached kinda fast.

    Has anyone an idea whats going wrong or any hint how to solve this problem?

    Any help is much appreciated! ;-)

    DB:3.17:Too Many Connections / Connection Pooling 8c

    Hi,
    I have a JSF application that is using hibernate to persist data to a MySQL database, but after doing a few small operations in the application I get the error:
    com.mysql.jdbc.exceptions.MySQLNonTransientConnectionException: Data source rejected establishment of connection, message from server: "Too many connections"

    A google search quickly showed me that this is a pretty common error when working with database connections, but I'm yet to find a real solution.
    The application is running on Tomcat 5.5.x using Hibernate 3.x to persist to a MySQL 5.x database.

    For one, I thought that I might have a connection leak somewhere in the application, but the session.close() is called every time I finish an operation. Are there any particular methods I might be able to call to prevent this?

    I see that there is a way to increase the maximum connections to the mysql databse. Does anyone know how this is done? (I'm running under OS X) I'm hoping that this might solve the problem, though I wouldn't be sure how much to increase to.

    I am not using any connection pooling, which from what I understand might be a big help in this situation by recycling the connections. What are the steps to take to implement connection pooling in a JSF application? Is connection pooling more or less necessary in a proper web app or is it simply recommended in heavy use situations?

    Is there anything I can add to any configuration files that would specify how many connections I can have or how long these connections are kept? I'm quite puzzled on this issue.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi,

    I want to find out how many connections are being used from my connection pool. From the monitoring capabilities you can only know the numer of timed-out connections, threads waiting and connections which failed validation.
    How can i know the number of used connections?.

    And too, can i monitorize the openning of the connections, the closure, when it is asigned to another thread, freed, etc.

    Thanks

    Hi,
    I have been using the same for the last 6 months on UR1, UR2 and even on SJS8 without any issues. All works fine. The setting in my case is like this:
    jvm-options-DMONITOR_JDBC=true/jvm-options
    jvm-options-DMONITOR_TIME_PERIOD_SECONDS=60/jvm-options
    jvm-options-DMONITOR_JDBC_TIME_PERIOD_SECONDS=60/jvm-optionsBut note that just having this setting in the JVM options is not enough. In the connection pool that you wish to monitor, you need to add one more property as follows:
    property value="true" name="perf-monitor"/This will make the connection pool available for monitoring. If yous wish to turn it off, all you need to do is to turn perf-monitor value to false.

    There is one other way to monitor the connection pool though. This can be done on the system level. The way to do it is as follows:

    asadmin get --user appservadmin user --password appservadmin password --port admin server port --monitor instance name.resources.jdbc-connection-pool.JDBC Connection pool name.*To monitor the transactions, you can use this:
    asadmin get --user appservadmin user --password appservadmin password --port admin server port --monitor instance name.transaction-service.*Hope this is of help.

For instructions, launch the System Preferences application, select Help from the menu bar, and enter Set up guest users (without the quotes) in the search box. Don't use the Safari-only Guest User login created by Find My Mac.While logged in as Guest, you wont have access to any of your personal files or settings. Boot in safe mode* and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:Shut down your computer, wait 30 seconds, and then hold down the shift key while pressing the power button.When you see the gray Apple logo, release the shift key.If you are prompted to log in, type your password, and then hold down the shift key again as you click Log in.Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things wont work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If youve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.*Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you cant boot in safe mode.Test while in safe mode. DB:3.03:Error Using Database Toolkit m1

    The error is described as too many connections, so this probably happens because you open a connection and then try to open another without closing the first (or whatever number of connections you can have open simultaneously). Move the open connection out of the loop, place a close connectionafter the loop and make sure you have a proper way to stop the loop. If you only want to run this once, you don't need the loop. This is also true if you want to run it as a subVI.

    These things apply to any reference based action in LV (TCP, File I/O, queuesand so on) - You need to open a resource once, use the reference you get in all the functions you need and then close the resource.

    To learn more about LabVIEW, I suggest you try searching this site and google for LabVIEW tutorials. Here and here are a couple you can start with. You can also contact your local NI office and join one of their courses.In addition, I suggest you read the LabVIEW style guide and the LabVIEW user manual (HelpSearch the LabVIEW Bookshelf).

    Hi there,

    Every other night for the past few nights, Ive woken up to find my websites and game servers not responding due to MySQL having all its connections used up. Ive just checked the set connections (using mysqld --verbose --help) and its set to 100.

    Ive tried looking in the my.ini (found in C:\Program Files\SWsoft\Plesk\Databases\MySQL\Data and also C:\Program Files\SWsoft\Plesk\MySQL\Data) and max_connections is set to 300 in there, so obviously it doesnt read from that config.

    1 - Could someone please tell me where the my.ini that Plesk uses is?
    2 - Is MySQL limited to use so much RAM/CPU (by default)? -- If so, how do I let it use more?
    3 - Is there any other config-related tweaks I could add / change to make MySQL perform better?

    Thank you.

    Hi there,

    Ive found out that mysqlds reading of max_connections is infact false. If you change max_connections in the /Databases/MySQL/Data/my.ini, restart MySQL then check in phpMyAdmin (the one which comes default with Plesk), then that reads max_connections = xxx (e.g., mine is 800 now).

    Thanks for the support.

    Hi,I am hoping someone can give me a little advice and help with database performance (Mysql) with jbpm 3.2.1. I have searched this forum but not found a large amount of data on the topic, although I did see one post about adding DBCP connection pooling to hibernate. Specifically, in stress testing, we recently tested with around 100 users, incidentally mysql was configured for 100 max connections, and I assumed that connection pooling was in place, is this the case?We got the well known ?too many connections? error anyway, and I am looking for ways to close ?sleeping? connections. When looking at the database ?mysql 5.x? with the gui tools, I see connections remain in sleep mode with the time field value increasing. As I click around in different areas in our web app so I see more connections appearing.We developed our webapp modelled closely on the jbpm-console sample in 3.2.1.We have upped the max connections in mysql, but I would still like to know whether anyone has set up connection pooling with jbpm-3.2.1 and mysql, and if there is a way to periodically sweep for and close these sleeping connections?I read the documentation, but could not get a big picture of how the database works from it.Thanks for your help in advance,regardsRoss

    I think the numbers you should use should depend on loadtesting your application and tuning the config.

    con=ds.getConnection();
    }

    }
    catch (SQLException e)
    {
    System.out.println("Exception inside ConClass" +e);
    }
    return con;
    }
    }In all my jsp and servlet files,

    i am fetching a connection using

    Connection con = ConClass.getConn();

    Using this object i am creating statements by means of this con object and then fetching query with the resultset after wards.

    In finally block of all JSPs and Servlets

    i am using code like this

    if (con != null)
    {
    con.close();
    con=null;
    }I just want to know whether after execution of this code , the fetched connection "con " will be returned back to Pool Or not...

    Dear All,

    While using the Universal Connection Pooling, when the maximum number connections are borrowed; subsequent requests for a connection result in new connection.
    And, it keeps on increasing the number of borrowed connections. Thereafter, if connections are closed, the connections keeps on returning to the pool and become available for further request(s).
    At this stage, if too many connections are available, it affects the system performance. Is there any way to physically close the connections ?

    Also, is there any feature in UCP similar to close() method in OracleConnectionCacheImpl (Which closes all the physical connections available in the pool) ?

    DB:2.97:Maximum Number Of Mysql Connections? sf

    A customer is asking to increase the number of connections to his MySQL database...apparently he is running a form of some kind.

    Can an increase be made in the number of connections, and is it wise to do so?

    Thanks!

    DB:2.97:Maximum Number Of Mysql Connections? sf

    You can increase the number of mysql connections in the /etc/my.cnf file if one exists (mysql will honor it if it exists, but will run with default settings if it doesnt exist). If it doesnt exist, you can create one - there are samples for my.cnf in /usr/share/mysql (named things like my-small.cnf, my-medium.cnf) - pick one, and copy to /etc/my.cnf and restart mysql.

    The line for this might be something like:

    set-variable = max_connections=500
    and
    set-variable = max_user_connections=100

    As to whether you really want to do this - it depends. The more connections you allow the more mysql can dominate the resources of your server.

    It might be more likely that connections are being held open by mysql long after the site user is done - by default, mysql will maintain a connection for 8 hours (28800 seconds). You might cut this down to a shorter time and let mysql free up some connections instead of allowing many more than may be needed.

    Hello everybody!

    Using SuSE 9.3 with Plesk 8.2.1 - upon booting the Server, all seems to work normally - shortly (really shortly) afterwards, Ples frontent dies with too many SQL connections, SQL server unreachable.

    On the console, ps -A yields hundreds of relaylock processes. They add up by the dozen per second and after a few minutes the server freezes completely.

    Disabling qmail in smtp_psa in xinetd.d makes it run stable, mysql works like a dream then as well as any other application.

    Does anyone have a clue for me on how to fix that?

    Thanks a lot!

    DB:2.94:Qmail / Relaylock Problem jx

    Im not convinced that the problem is with your server unless you know for sure that one or two ip addresses is not causing multiple locks. About a month ago, I had 4 ip addresses hitting my server with over 500 connections at any given time from each separate ip. Combine that with the normal connections it almost knocked my server to its knees. I finally had to block all email connections till I found how to limit connections to 1. My regulars customers were not happy.

    I'm not a database expert, or even a JSC expert, so take my comments for what they're worth.

    What web server are you using? I'm using the JSC built-in app server as my test server and Tomcat 5.5.17 as my deployment server.

    I think most, if not all, web servers let you create connection pools.

    Check you web server documentation for how to create and configure connection pools. However, this won't solve your problem if you never release a connection once you get it.

    Database connections tend to be transient. That is, they are only used for a short time and then released.

    If your application opens a connection and never closes it, that indicates a problem. Is there a reason a database connection must remain open for the life of the application?

    I first noticed my sites had long responsetime, it could take about 20 seconds the sites to load. Sometimes I error messages like connection problems with mySQL, Too many connections and so on. Started to noticed that server almost used all memory available, and started swapping to disks.

    This caused that the Plesk admin was not available, and the only thing I can to is to try to restart PSA and MYSQL, or restart the server. It seems that I have to restart the server each 24 hour to make the site working. This is very serious for our business, and our clients starts to complain about this.

    So what to do? The support team isnt helping very much, even I have paid for support. I reported this issue 4 days ago, and still no results from Parallels support team.

    I am very attempting to re-install the server with Plesk 9.5.

    This issue has now been resolved.
    It appears that Greyfiltering was the problem on the server. 2nd line supportteam at Parallels disabled the Greylisting feature, and the server is now ok. The problem was due to high serverload because of this issue, I havent got any details from supportteam.

    Due to the high serverload, the mySQL services timed out and cause problems with sending and recieving e-mails.

    Hi,
    I have a JSF application that is using hibernate to persist data to a MySQL database, but after doing a few small operations in the application I get the error:
    com.mysql.jdbc.exceptions.MySQLNonTransientConnectionException: Data source rejected establishment of connection, message from server: "Too many connections"

    Also, I am not using a helper class to open connections, could this be an issue at all? What are the advantages to using such a class? The reason I haven't yet is just to keep things simple, but if there's nothing to lose I feel I should just go for it. Are there any examples of such a class on the internet I should use? so far, a typical save operation of mine looks like this:

    SessionFactory sessionFactory = new Configuration().configure().buildSessionFactory();
    Session session = sessionFactory.openSession();
    Transaction tx = session.beginTransaction();

    session.saveOrUpdate(estInitObj);
    tx.commit();
    session.close();I'm quite puzzled on this issue.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    I believe I see your 'slow application' problem in your code.
    You are calling this line each and every time in your try block to read/write data to the database:
    SessionFactory sessionFactory = new Configuration().configure().buildSessionFactory();
    I believe that line is very slow. Put the following class (below) in your project that instansiates the sessionFactory once, then use its getSessionFactory for your code (the class is from 'Hibernate in Action' book).

    I strongly suggest reading a book such as 'Hibernate in Action' since I dont believe hibernate is something programmers can pick up by reading some on-line tutorials and code examples. Even with the book, I had to refactor my persistent layer over and over and over again to figure out what the book left out.

    I cant help with your configuration since I dont use mySql.

    Also this link may be of help:

    Im running Linux Suse 10.2 SLES with Plesk 8.6 on a Dell server.

    The problem occured twice in one week:

    Suddenly, the server seems to be totally frozzen. The different services (web, email, ftp) are not available anymore. I also cannot get the login screen on the console!

    At the time the server stopped to work, I can always find the same entry in the /var/log/messages file:

    Apr 14 11:48:30 linux-1 pop3d: Connection, ip=[83.68.211.148]

    The only choice I have is to reset the box hoping that nothing in the databases get corrupted.

    Is there a known problem on that OS?
    Is it caused by an attack?
    Where can I find more information about the problem (file /var/log/mysqld.log is almost empty 2-3 lines only)?
    Error message is Too many connections, how can I increase the amount of accepted connections? Is it a good idea?

    Thank you in advance for your help.

    Actually, I think/hope I localized the problem. Problem on the Plesk box is caused by a Mysql server down and then everything is going bad.
    It seems that the Joomla component/module Eventlist is causing the crash of Mysql. Does someone already know problem with that stuff?

    Hi,

    working with Infinispan 5.1.6 FINAL, on JBoss AS 7.1, I have 3 caches and I'm using MySQL 5.1 as cachestore. (see attached the infinispan.xml).

    After some time (not sure about the root cause) I see the following errors (see attached server.log):

    DB:2.84:Acquisition Attempt Failed: Too Many Connections fx

    After more investigation I think that the issue could be related to the following code:
    EmbeddedCacheManager manager = new DefaultCacheManager("infinispan.xml");
    CacheString, String cache = manager.getCache("list");

    I'm using it to collect all the entries (values) of a cache and then order them.

    The issue I think is that I invoke these two lines every time, and in the logs I have the following:

    Initializing c3p0 pool... com.mchange.v2.c3p0.ComboPooledDataSource

    So for each manager instance I have a new c3p0 pool, and maybe at the end I'm going to consume all the connection to the DB (Hibernate).

    So now I've created a singleton to have just one manager and one cache in memory and therefore just one pool.

    I'll keep you updated on this, but if you have some thoughts or suggestions to share I'll appreciate it.

    Hello I am trying to build a site with my Dreamweaver MX 2004
    and until now it has never been an issue. The host I am working
    with has the latest versions of PHP and MYSQL server running. Now
    all my database connections in php do not work and give an error
    back. For example:

    Warning: mysql_pconnect() [function.mysql-pconnect]: Host
    'apollo.diywebhosting.ca' is blocked because of many connection
    errors; unblock with 'mysqladmin flush-hosts' in
    /home/wallsja/public_html/Connections/db.php on line 9

    Fatal error: Host 'apollo.diywebhosting.ca' is blocked
    because of many connection errors; unblock with 'mysqladmin
    flush-hosts' in /home/wallsja/public_html/Connections/db.php on
    line 9

    Now the company claims it is not a setting in MYSQL, but a
    problem with the PHP. Is this true and if so, what do I need to do
    to remedy this situation?

    I do not think it is a PHP problem since I host a site on
    another server using the same versions of PHP and MYSQL and I have
    no problem making mysql connections with dreamweaver on that
    site.

    DB:2.83:Mysql Connect Error sx

    The host is adamant that the code is th issue.....

    I am going to back up the databases, delete them from the
    remote server, then restore them from the backups and see what
    happens.

    Can Filr be configured to use SSL connection for MySQL?

    you might not be able to get it to work. If the Filr, MySQL, and

    Search appliances are all on the internal network another way to

    secure the connections would be to put the appliances into their own

    VLAN. This would keep the traffic separated from all other network

    traffic and help secure it.

    A followup to this... another option is to add a second NIC to the Filr

    appliance. This way you could have one NIC connected to your internal

    or DMZ network, and the other could be connected to an isolated VLAN

    which only has the MySQL Search appliances connected. Today we don\'t

    support multiple NICs in the Filr appliance, but that\'s coming in Filr

    1.1.

    Is anyone calling stored procedures on MySql?

    I'm looking at using the gateway but would prefer to minimise the number of connections directly by calling a stored procedure as the entry point.

    Appreciate any feedback, positive or negative.

    Many thanks

    Thanks.

    Yes, I understand that only Generic Gateway support is provided for MySQL, and that with this stored procedures are not supported.

    I assume that you could call the stored procedure on the MySQL system using the pass-through SQL option, but any parameters would have to be converted manually then.

    Had anyone tried pass through stored procedures with MySQL?

    %PIX-3-201002: Too many connections on xlate XXX.XX.XX.X! 0/38

    Can't seem to find any references on what this means or if this is harmful.

    Anybody have any experience with this message?

    Thanks..

    DB:2.81:Too Many Connections On Xlate?? pa

    It looks like when you wrote your static, you limited yourself to only 38 connections maximum - and you're exceeding that number of connections (i.e. like on a http request). If this doesn't obviously fix it, try posting that particular line from your static and we'll take a look.

    HTH

    Jeff

    Below is the explanation from the syslog message.

    %PIX-3-201002: Too many connections on static|xlate gaddr! econns nconns

    Explanation This is a connection-related message. This is a connection-related message. This message is logged when the maximum number of connections to the specified static address has been

    exceeded. The econns variable is the maximum number of embryonic connections and nconns is the maximum number of connections permitted for the static or xlate.

    Action Use the show static command to check the limit imposed on connections to a static address. The limit is configurable.

    Im having nightmares trying to resolve a problem with the default MySQL done by Plesk.

    First, I have read through the PDF documentation and I can find no reference to what the root password for mysql is. I need it to fine tune various settings. Anyone know what password plesk uses by default as the root? I tried using the plesk root password we setup upon installing but that doesnt work. Can anyone help? How can we reset this? I absolutely need to access the mysqladmin tool.

    Secondly I need to setup a my.cnf file in /etc/ to allow for more connections to our MySQL server. At present were getting lots of connections refused as there are too many. Where is the mysql.sock file? I updated the db and tried to locate it but couldnt find any reference to it. The my.cnf file specifically asks for the mysql.sock file. Defining the default value stopped mysql from starting up properly and connections were refused to the server.

    Id appreciate any assistance.

    DB:2.80:Mysql Nightmares... Someone Please Help 93

    In my experience, the mysql admin password is the same as the plesk admin password. However, it appears that their routines do not properly flush the database privileges. It appears they do the update, but no flush.

    Try restarting mysql by hand (or stopping and starting all of plesk) after you change the admin password.

    Hi,

    Not really a _problem_ as such, but I may have to look into this in the (near?) future, if my project goes live...

    I have an Applet that shows data from a server (on my network) - if I turn off the applet (stop Firefox all the way) and re-connect and do that several times, the server has too many connections and (obviously) will refuse to serve any further.

    Is there a way to effectively kill a connection?

    There is (scetchy) what I do at unload
    try
    {
    cn.close();
    cn = null;
    }
    catch(exception e)
    {}
    // no need to handle this?

    DB:2.80:(Solved)Mysql Running Out Of Connections... fm

    Hi Skunktrader,

    Nope, the exception still happens. Ill set up the server to do a garbage collect. And redirect the closing page/applet to a close page where Id run a PHP script to close mysql down...by means of cleaning up...

    The thing is, if/when I wait a while, the exception does not manifest itself and the applet does start up. As if the server needs time to clean up...something I want to force it doing...right away.

    More to follow

    ThorEdit1 : still no luck - of course, the server is a recycled PC (256Mb ram) and CentOS 5.2, still more than 20Gb disk left. But... I am the only one on this thing...Any (I really mean ANY) thoughts (no matter how funny or off-topic, I could use SOME feedback here) are more than welcome... Edit2 : is it normal that my local JVM just ... stops? Ive set the thing to display the console, just to see anything locally getting lost in the fog, but the panel stops, after a ps -A there is no more JVM inthe shop...I have to restart the applet several times to get it working, of course, every attempt leaves its marks on the server in still-open connections...I still invite ANYONE for thoughts, inputs, off-topics, ...

    1. It's configurable at the database.
    2. Java does not limit you.

    I know nothing about MySQL, but socket files are usually created at application start-up and located in the /tmp directory.

    For what its worth, the following seems to match your problem:

    http://www.unix.com/unix-linux-applications/168836-mysql-daemon-failed-start-no-mysql-sock-file.html

    The solution there was to disable SELinux.

    DB:2.79:Jboss Mysql Datasource Issues km

    Hello,I have been running tests of our application for almost 8 weeks with different configurations of both JBoss(AS, CVSTag=JBoss_3_2_3 date=20031130) MySql(DB 4.0.18). The application has a Inboudsoap adapter, which then uses a series of tied up logic in EJB's (SFSB, MDB Entity Bean's) that persists their states in MySql. A single input request atleast performs 10-25 updates/insertsinto the DB, using Entity Beans. The tests works perfectly fine for 5 days, with the above mentioned process repeated every 20 seconds, but at the end of 5th day or atmost start of 6th dayI end up getting MySql "Too Many connections" or "Unexpected end of input stream " error.Too many connectins should not allow any connection even from console (separate command prompt), but am able to log into mysql from a console, I had also bumped up the number of concurrent connections to 500, but i doubt itsdue to exhaustive number of connections. If that was the case mysql should not have allowed to connect from a command prompt. I tried to get the Innodb status, if there are any dead locksbut the status was all clean. Every time I find at the same line of the connector / J stating either too many connections or end of i/p stream.I doubt JBoss is not able to manage the connection pools properly and too many connections are left open and the pool manager fails. As am able to fire a query and log into the DB bothfrom mysql control center and command prompt, I dont see any issue in MySql. Two its only after 5 days of continuous JBoss handling requests (i.e., one request per 20 seconds, all request till 5 days are handled properly ) I land on this error.System Settings======================Red Had Enterprise Linux 3512 GB RAM40 GB Hard diskJBoss 3.2.23MySQL 4.0.18mysql connector / J 3.1.14 production releaseError thrown after 5 days==========================Error trace 1:===============java.io.IOException: Unexpected end of input stream at com.mysql.jdbc.MysqlIO.reuseAndReadPacket(MysqlIO.java:1405) at com.mysql.jdbc.MysqlIO.checkErrorPacket(MysqlIO.java:1775) at com.mysql.jdbc.MysqlIO.checkErrorPacket(MysqlIO.java:1752) at com.mysql.jdbc.MysqlIO.doHandshake(MysqlIO.java:833) at com.mysql.jdbc.Connection.createNewIO(Connection.java:1734) at com.mysql.jdbc.Connection.(Connection.java:562) at com.mysql.jdbc.NonRegisteringDriver.connect(NonRegisteringDriver.java:361) at org.jboss.resource.adapter.jdbc.local.LocalManagedConnectionFactory.createManagedConnection(LocalManagedConnectionFactory.java:150) at org.jboss.resource.connectionmanager.InternalManagedConnectionPool.createConnectionEventListener(InternalManagedConnectionPool.java:477) at org.jboss.resource.connectionmanager.InternalManagedConnectionPool.getConnection(InternalManagedConnectionPool.java:213) at org.jboss.resource.connectionmanager.JBossManagedConnectionPool$BasePool.getConnection(JBossManagedConnectionPool.java:496) at org.jboss.resource.connectionmanager.BaseConnectionManager2.getManagedConnection(BaseConnectionManager2.java:425) at org.jboss.resource.connectionmanager.TxConnectionManager.getManagedConnection(TxConnectionManager.java:318) at org.jboss.resource.connectionmanager.BaseConnectionManager2.allocateConnection(BaseConnectionManager2.java:477) at org.jboss.resource.connectionmanager.BaseConnectionManager2$ConnectionManagerProxy.allocateConnection(BaseConnectionManager2.java:814) at org.jboss.resource.adapter.jdbc.WrapperDataSource.getConnection(WrapperDataSource.java:102Error trace 2:===============java.sql.SQLException: Data source rejected establishment of connection, message from server: "Too many connections" at com.mysql.jdbc.MysqlIO.doHandshake(MysqlIO.java:645) at com.mysql.jdbc.Connection.createNewIO(Connection.java:1887) at com.mysql.jdbc.Connection.(Connection.java:440) at com.mysql.jdbc.NonRegisteringDriver.connect(NonRegisteringDriver.java:400) at org.jboss.resource.adapter.jdbc.local.LocalManagedConnectionFactory.createManagedConnection(LocalManagedConnectionFactory.java:150) at org.jboss.resource.connectionmanager.InternalManagedConnectionPool.createConnectionEventListener(InternalManagedConnectionPool.java:477) at org.jboss.resource.connectionmanager.InternalManagedConnectionPool.getConnection(InternalManagedConnectionPool.java:213) at org.jboss.resource.connectionmanager.JBossManagedConnectionPool$BasePool.getConnection(JBossManagedConnectionPool.java:496) at org.jboss.resource.connectionmanager.BaseConnectionManager2.getManagedConnection(BaseConnectionManager2.java:425) at org.jboss.resource.connectionmanager.TxConnectionManager.getManagedConnection(TxConnectionManager.java:318) at org.jboss.resource.connectionmanager.BaseConnectionManager2.allocateConnection(BaseConnectionManager2.java:477) at org.jboss.resource.connectionmanager.BaseConnectionManager2$ConnectionManagerProxy.allocateConnection(BaseConnectionManager2.java:814) at org.jboss.resource.adapter.jdbc.WrapperDataSource.getConnection(WrapperDataSource.java:102) at org.jboss.ejb.plugins.cmp.jdbc.JDBCAbstractQueryCommand.execute(JDBCAbstractQueryCommand.java:149) at org.jboss.ejb.plugins.cmp.jdbc.JDBCAbstractQueryCommand.execute(JDBCAbstractQueryCommand.java:111) at org.jboss.ejb.plugins.cmp.jdbc.JDBCFindEntitiesCommand.execute(JDBCFindEntitiesCommand.java:38) at org.jboss.ejb.plugins.cmp.jdbc.JDBCStoreManager.findEntities(JDBCStoreManager.java:579) at org.jboss.ejb.plugins.CMPPersistenceManager.findEntities(CMPPersistenceManager.java:311) at org.jboss.resource.connectionmanager.CachedConnectionInterceptor.findEntities(CachedConnectionInterceptor.java:322) at org.jboss.ejb.EntityContainer.findLocal(EntityContainer.java:613) at sun.reflect.GeneratedMethodAccessor86.invoke(Unknown Source) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:25) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:324) at org.jboss.ejb.EntityContainer$ContainerInterceptor.invokeHome(EntityContainer.java:1043) at org.jboss.ejb.plugins.AbstractInterceptor.invokeHome(AbstractInterceptor.java:88)Do let me know as what is going wrong, Is it issue with JBoss datasource management or am I missing something ?ThanksGanesh

    Is this 22 connections u seen from mysql side or application server side?If it is from mysql, you also can Trace the used connection and available connections @ Application Server (i,e; JBoss). Fo r this you just have to enable the TRACE log in log4j.xml.Shall i know which connection pool you are using ?Thanks,Prasad.

    DB:2.79:Re: Mysql Php Admin Max User Connection Propble kf

    First of all that "mm" Driver is way out of Date, read the MySQL Manual (the Connector/J parts) to get the name of the Driver you should be using.

    Second of all, either the "max_user_connections" is set too low, or you are not explicitly releasing/closing connections. It's as simple as that.

    DB:2.79:Re: Mysql Php Admin Max User Connection Propble kf

    Hi All, I have hosted some class files and jsp files with mysql database as backend on the server with our database connections using mm.mysql and connection pooling mechanism. In local System my application is run successfully. But uploaded those file this bring the error like the following java.sql.SQLException: access violation message from server: "User XXXXX already has more than 'max_user_connections' active connections" Plz reply .

    DB:2.79:Taskservice Issue sp

    Hi

    I had to run the following line multiple times to get the list of tasks for a list of process instance ids.

    ListTask tasks =

    taskService.createTaskQuery().processInstanceId(processInstanceId).list();

    The problem is that everytime this query is run the JBPM API opens a connection to my MYSQL database and is not explicitly closing it.(when i run netstat i see a list of connections in the ESTABLISHED state)

    So i get too many connections error even if I run for 20 times.

    Has anybody faced this problem? Is there any method in the API to cleanup the task query (and all connections related to it).

    Any help is appreciated.

    DB:2.79:Mysql Too Many Connections z9

    Hey

    Im getting the Too Many Connections error on MySQL with one of my boxes. I tried copying the huge-mysql cnf file to /etc and restarting psa, but that didnt seem to work. Im still getting them. I cant find where in the cnf file to change it manually..

    Also, is there any way to see which users have connections open? To see which user is using MySQL the most?.. it might just be a problem with a certain script.. but I need to raise the max connections for now.

    And is /etc the right directory I should be putting my.cnf into?.. I saw that in another thread..

    Thanks

    DB:2.79:Mysql Too Many Connections z9

    Hello.

    Im pretty sure you could create your own my.cnf and mySQL will regognize it. The variables are set under directive MySQL:

    [mysqld]
    set-variable = max_connections=500
    set-variable = max_user_connections=100

    (I have set the connections to 750 connections)

    To see what MySQL processes that are currently running, log in via SSH/Shell and log in to the MySQL client:

    mysql -u admin -p

    Then enter you PSA admin password.

    When logged in, type:

    show processlist;

    and it will list all current processes with name of database, username etc.

    Hope this helps you.

    DB:2.79:Using Mysql With Servlet cc

    Hello,

    I'm currently doing this:

    Applet (JDK1.3+) -- Tomcat Servlet -- mySQL database

    Should I have any reason to worry about multiple connections to my app server and thus to the mySQL database? I mean, I've tested this by myself (1 connection) and everything works fine, but can I assume that multiple connections would work fine too? I do some synchronization in servlet methods sending querys to the mySQL database, is this overkill? Any comments/suggestions are appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!

    DB:2.79:Using Mysql With Servlet cc

    hi,
    was just going through when i saw ur question... code looks ok to me and it should b seen that synchroniztion should be done for the most minimal code... in ur case instead of making a conenction and loading the driver all the time u could use a connection pool to make a predefined ste of connection and keep them ready. in this way ur synchronized code is reduced... many poolmangers are available free on the net could try any of them ... one from Javaexchange DbConnectionBroker is suppossed to be good. alos PoolMan is a very good pool manager.

    This is very strange. I can connect to MySQL via command line, however all of my domains that use MySQL say they cannot connect. So much for the hotfix. Would it be safe for me to rpm -e mysql-server; rpm -i mysql-server? Would I lose all of my user permissions and whatnot? How do I fix this problem? Is this a known problem with the hotfix?
