    Hi
I want the Team Site become responsive. I have the Plan 2 with SharePoint Online.

I use Twitter Bootstrap by RioLinx (Foundationversion 4.3.2).
I want to change the color of the «navbar».
I even try to add a new css file but I don't know where to include this line:
    link href=navbar-color.css
    rel=stylesheet
What is the best way to do this ?
    Regards
    MJ

DB:3.97:Twitter Bootstrap With Sharepoint Online Team Site 9p

The existing references are probably defined in your master file head/head.
Does your Sandboxed solution add your new Master Page?
You can edit this Master Page with SharePoint Designer 2013 Master Pages.
Add thelink href=navbar-color.css rel=stylesheet in the head section.
    Good luck!

    thanks, I'll reivew the links.
The biggest challenge, i'm facing is that the site I took over already has a non responsive theme and master page attached to it. I'd like to integrate the TBS to it some how and use the same color pallete as our current site does.

I'll have to disect the CSS I guess then to accomplish such thing

    Hi,
I have done npm install pip from the monaco console.
    Thenpip install flask-bootstrap.
I added the following line to __init__.py for testing
    from flask.ext.bootstrap import Bootstrap
My test app crashes, looking through the folder structures for the project I assume it can't find flask.ext.bootstrap.
The pip install flask-bootstrap does not offer any success or failure messages:
    \ pip install flask-bootstrap
    D:\home\site\wwwrootD:\home\site\wwwroot\node_modules\.bin\\..\pip\lib\cli.js install flask-bootstrap
    Just the path D:\... above.
I think I am missing some crucial information, I am a novice with pip

    Kind regards

P.S. I also familiar how I could add bootstrap js files to the FlaskApplication/static folder, so just want to point out my question is more about using pip than specifically using bootstrap.

Correct, this currently is not available in Excel Web App. As the goal of Office API is to cover all of Office clients and platforms,

We are using SharePoint Workspace2010 in conjuction withand Office 2010. SharePoint Workspace is tied to a Team Site online, as well. My machine i also running Windows 7. For some reason, I cannot open Word files from SharePoint. When I double-click
a Word file (.doc or .docx) in SharePoint, the spinning busy symbol goes for a brief moment, and nothing happens. When I right-click the document, I can see Open With, and I can then selct Word, which works. However, it seems like there is no Open command,
and perhaps that is why nothing works on a double-click (just a thought). Word files open just fine on my computer. How can I get Word files to open from SharePoint?

DB:2.82:Cannot Open Word Documents From Sharepoint 2010+ jj

    Hi TCAMSNET,
On Library Settings - Go Advance Settings-Opening Documents in the Browser
Choose Default open behavior for browser-enabled documents as Open in the client machine.
Your client must have installed Office product either 64 bit or 32 bit properly.
If you choose to select the Server Default you must have installed the 64 bit Office Product on your SharePoint 2010 server.

    Mohammad,
Team members group (Microsoft Project Server)is a project workspace group, and operates based on what permissions the user has on a specific projects.
That is why you are not seeing it directly synchronized with the Team Members group.
As for the issue with Lists in PWA, you need to have the group permissions, Manage Lists in PWA, in addition to other required permissions for that group.
The other alternative is obviously to manage permissions directly on the list.

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to enable mobile view for the SharePoint online publishing site.
When viewing a SharePoint site with a smartphone you have the option of viewing it in PC mode (full screen) or in a view designed specifically for smartphones.
As you said, you were in desktop view. To switch back to mobile view, tap Settings, and then tap Mobile view.
To disable desktop view, you can write a script that appends mobile=1 to all links relative to the site collection.

Scenario 2 : Localization problem in Sharepoint online.
I am not able to get the current selected site language from silverlight webpart using client object model. When i used thread.currentthread.currentuiculture it is getting always english culture only. And it is not getting my regional language. There is

    Hi All,

I am working for a customer for customization on SharePoint Online. I need to create following customization.

For each department one site collection is required to be created. There will be 15 site collections.
Each site collection will have couple of team sites.
Each team will have couple of document libraries and customer list.
Custom lists and document libraries will have custom views.
MaterPage and Layout will be customized to apply the UI Branding.

Customer wants that configuration management should be as per the Microsoft best practice. I am wondering what the approach I should use is.

Should I create visual studio solution, but since there are 15 different site collections are required to be created I believe sandboxed solution will not be feasible sine sandboxed solution are scoped with site collection.
I also believe if I do create visual studio solution that development efforts will be extensive.
I am not sure whether it is feasible, use the SharePoint Designer to apply this customization but I am confused in this case. If it is possible then how I will promote the customization to production.
I am also confused in case SharePoint online how I will keep production and development environment separate? What is the best practice around it?

If you have them setup as seperate web apps then they will both need a DNS entry.  i.e. sharepoint.mydomain.com and mysite.mydomain.comIf it is not an option to have two DNS entries, then you would need to migrate the MySite features to a virtual directory of the main SharePoint web application.  That would allow you to access it via sharepoint.mydomain.com/MySite.  This is not something I would recommend though.  Its always best to setup the application with a bit of isolation so that you have more options when it comes to backup/recovery, general web app health, and scalability.  If you wanted to move MySites onto a dedicated Web Front End (WFE) it needs to be in its own web app.SharePoint Developer | Administrator | Evangelist --

I just installed TFS 2010 (single server) and created a new Team Project under the Default Collection using

no longer create an associated SharePoint Portal?)

    TIA,

DB:2.62:Where Is The Sharepoint Portal Associated With My Tfs 2010 Team Project c7

    Hello Barkingdog,
    Thanks for your post.
There are some differences between TFS2008 and TFS2010. In TFS2008, SharePoint is a required feature and you must to install it in order to use
TFS2008. However, in the TFS2010 SharePoint is an optional feature.
In order to create portal for a team project, you should first install SharePoint site. And also install Extensions for SharePoint Products which
you can find in the TFS installation media. Then you configure the TFS2010 to integrate with that SharePoint server. When you create a new team project, in the wizard you will be asked whether to create a SharePoint site or not. See this screen shot for detailed
    information:

    Hi
I have read many articles, a SharePoint 2013 book, watched webinars, YouTube vids. These focus on
one subject and don't explain the relationship between the major parts of SharePoint 2013Team Site/Public Site/Designer2013/Office365.
How does it all tie in together?
I know how to add pages, navigate, addapps, modify the look and feel, I also know how to open the SharePoint 2013site I created in Team site inside Designer 2013
I want to create a simple website.
I noticed that my installation of SharePoint 2013 has more apps in Team Site than Public site. For example Public site does not have Calendar app.
    My 4Questions would be:
1 What is the difference between Team Site and Public site?
2 Why don't I have the same apps in Team Site and Public site?
3 If I finish building the site in Designer, does it update SharePoint or do I Make Website Online from Designer?
4 I noticed the Make Website Online is not in the Team Site tile. Can I build a website from Team Site and send it online?
    Thank you

    Hi all,
I'm currently trying to implement a SharePoint Online solution. Is it possible to invite External users to a SharePoint group other than the listed Team Site Visitors or Team Site Member groups? Is it possible to add External users to SharePoint group only
after they have accepted the invitation?

DB:2.61:Sharepoint Online - Add External Users To A Specific Sharepoint Group az

    Hi Erwin,
To invite external users to a group other than the default ones and to specify permission for them before they accept the invitations, you can try this:

Create a new group for the new external users that you are going to invite at example.sharepoint.com/_layouts/permsetup.aspxSet the appropriate permissions for the group from the site settings page.Invite the external users to the group that you created now.
Test this out before you invite the real external users to ensure there are no slipups.

We have 10 projects for which I have to create SharePoint site(s)
Project team will do the following on the site:
    1) upload documents to share with other team members
    2) Do an online discussion
what's the best way to achieve this that the different team can easily manage their projects. I don't want to create 10 project sites

DB:2.59:Sharepoint Site To Manage Multiple Project s1

It really doesn't matter much how you want to go about handling this. Usually we base it on permissions. If each project needs separate permissions, we will make them sites so that the permissions are easier to manage. It seems that in your case permissions
don't matter, so I would just stick with one site and have separate pages.
For the main page, I suggest having common things like a calendar, announcements, etc. You could then have links to the 10 different project pages.cameron rautmann

I'm using Office 365, with SharePoint 2013 online.

I'm using SQL 2008 R2 BIDS to create a report project and create a data source to the online SharePoint site, using the SharePoint List Connection Type. Credential is set to 'Use Windows Authentication (integrated security).
When I create the data source, then I try to add a dataset, I am getting the following error when specifying the datasource and clicking 'Query Designer':
Server was unable to process request -- Access is denied. (Exception from HRESULT 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED)
I was reading something about SharePoint online using Claims-based authentication but to be honest I'm not sure what that means, I thought when I specified Windows Authentication, it would use my currently logged-on domain credentials to connect to the SharePoint
    site?
Any help/advice is appreciated..thanks in advance.

DB:2.59:Connecting To Sharepoint Online With Ssrs Sharepoint List Connection Type j7

That's not going to work. You'll need to interface with a custom web service that retrieves the data, you will never be able to use on-prem SSRS to query using the SharePoint List Data source with SharePoint Online.

    Hello,
For some reason the Team site under Save as/Open (recent folders) has disappeared from the Office applications for all users in the company. The only one showing is the "user" @ "domain". Before there was also Team site @ domain. The team site is a Sharepoint
online site and all users have membership to that site.
Users sign in with their Office 365 credentials in the Office applications.
This picture is taken from a Youtube video just to clarify the problem for you. The Team Site entry in the red box has disappeared.

These troubleshooting steps have already been done:
    1. Removing credentials from WIN7 credential manager.
    2. Switching account in Office application (sign-in)
    3. Sign out in Office application (sign-in)
    4. Add a Place - Sharepoint - asks for credentials- goes through without error
    5. We've made a service request to Microsoft Office 365 support but they say this problem is out of their boundaries and won't provide anymore assistance regarding this matter.
    6. We've made a forum post on the Office 365 community and been directed to post this matter here.

Where can I find any SDK-type advice, guidance on how best to use built-in SharePoint 2013 CSS classes such as ms-dialogBody in the aspx page that my Custom Ribbon Bar action launches via SP.UI.ModalDialog.showModalDialog?
The rest of the application uses Twitter Bootstrap CSS classes, but I find that, when using showModalDialog, those classes fight with and conflict with the autoSize:true option of showModalDialog, which is why I am thinking that, in
this one case, I should NOT use the Bootstrap classes on my div and other elements within the aspx page launched by showModalDialg but, instead, try to use some of the comes-with-SharePoint-2013 ones, like ms-dialogBody. The problem is, I have not
found any documentation, tutorials, or other suitable forms of guidance on how to use them.

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to know the css classes about the built-in modal dialog in SharePoint.
.ms-dialog applied to HTML element that is the start of the dialog box contents within the iFrame; child of the 'ms-dlgFrame' IFRAME element.

Only used as a parent selector in descendent selector style statements.
    http://sharepointexperience.com/csschart/csschart.html
There are two articles about the dialog box styling, you can have a look at them.

    Hi Aruna,
For this issue, I would suggest you to create a feature, custom a site home page based on the default home page, set it as site home page. To do this:

Create a custom solution, include a feature, and the customized home page.In the feature receiver code, set the custom page as a site’s home page.To make it work when creating the site, you can use a WebProvisioned event in event receiver to activate the feature. Or you can also custom a site definition based on the default team site template, include the feature in the site definition,
activate it when creating the site instance.
More information, Make Custom Landing Page As Default Page of the SharePoint Team Site same as Wiki Home Page:

DB:2.55:Connect Sharepoint Online List With Public Website kx

I have an Office 365 license with a SharePoint online team site on it.
I would like to display all items of one of the Lists on a public website (not SP website; just standard HTML, CSS and JS in a simple CMS). The idea is to simply display all items (GET) on that public website and have it updated instantly (when a change
is made to the SharePoint list on the team site).
How would I go about this?
    Kind Regards

    Hi Rahul,
    Thanks for posting this issue.
This error occurs when TFS can't find sharepoint extension under same locale. You have to reinstall Sharepoint in English to solve this issue.
If you look into folder C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\Web Server Extensions\12\TEMPLATE, you will find folders 1031 (German) and 1033 (English). If you copy the content under 1031 to 1033, it may solve the problem which blocks TFS installation.
    You can alsoinstall theLanguage Packs
for the version of your sharepoint and in the language corresponding of TFS. You can download from here:

At the moment our users must login through the standard microsoft office365 login form to access our site (login, microsoftonline, com)

Is there a way to have our users login through a custom login form (basic username and password) which then logs them into our sharepoint team site?
Is it possible to do this? I have heard this is achievable with FBA and SP 2013 (on-premise) but not sure about SP 2013 online(cloud hosted)version.

Your alternative is to use the basics provided by MS within the Commerce Server 2009 SDK Commerce SharePoint ExtensibilityKit to customise the SharePoint integration.. DB:2.51:Per Site, List Driven Footer And Other Content Areas On A Sharepoint 2010 Master Page? dp

So I worked with a vendor to provide a js, a powershell script and div content holders in a master page that would pull the content dynamically based on the site or subsite, and more specifically from a custom list in that site. To explain, if I
have a root site collection but want to be able to have the end user control the site content, such as a custom top navigation (above the global) and custom footer, and custom place holder content that would appear under the navigation; I would like to have
that content pulled from a list.
My goal is to not have a custom master page for the many many sites we have in our environment. I am using twitter bootstrap as the foundation for the master pages, then a set number of page layouts pending whether they want left nav to show
or not. I also typically just use the v4.master for the system pages, but am not sure if that is a best practice either being that the list display forms for a publishing site are ugly so need customized per list.
Has any one done anything like this and if so could you point me in the right direction? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Right now am working within SP2010 but will be testing for SP2013 in the near future.

DB:2.51:Per Site, List Driven Footer And Other Content Areas On A Sharepoint 2010 Master Page? dp

    Hi,
Based on my understanding, you might want to display dynamic content in the pages which reference a specific master page, the content stores in a custom list, users
can update the master page by updating the corresponding list items.
Then there would be two main steps in a solution like this:

With SharePoint 2010, we can programmatically create a custom field for lookup site column cross site collections. However, it seems not to be possible in SharePoint 2013. Has anyone got hands dirty on this case?

Hello, if I understand your query correctly the root PWA site has to be PWA site collection, it can't be a default SharePoint team site. The individual project site (below PWA) can start from just a SharePoint team site though or any SharePoint site with
a tasks list. This can then be added to PWA and converted to a full enterprise project if required or left as SharePoint task list project that can be seen in PWA in visibility mode. PaulPaul Mather | Twitter |

Please note, this may seem like a cross-post to the sharepoint forum.
I had asked in teh Sharepoint 2010 forums about what integrations for online conferences Sharepoint 2010 has. It was mentioned that Sharepoint 2007 used to have webparts for Microsoft OCS, but those are deprecated and not available.
I'm very unfamiliar with Lync. Basically, we're going to be setting up a Sharepoint 2010 ssytem at my firm and I've been tasked with ensuring that there's an integrated online conferencing capablity.
    For example:
If we have a Sharepoint 2010 Team site, it'd be great if viewers could have a Conferencing Web part that would allow them to enter an online conference to share whiteboards or desktops or documents. In other words, it'd be great if the Sharepoint Team member
could start a conference, and other team site members could join that conference via the Sharepoint team site.
Does anyone who has Lync know if Lync tightly couples to Sharepoint 2010 as a web part for integration?
If not, that doesn't preclude us from using Web Ex or GotoMeeting. It's just that they aren't integrated as a true collaboration tool along with Sharepoint.Bob

So recently we moved about 50 phone devices (Cisco 7945's) from one area to another in our DR site. When we did most of them came up with bootstrap, however, got stuck at "configuring IP". We later learned of a known issue from the Cisco switch team that because we moved the phones from one VLAN to another on the same subnet the phone remained in this state. We know that a DHCP release must be performed to flush the IP configuration before moving according to switch team.

However, the phone group indicates this is not cached information and that CDP sends out a request to the switch for its VLAN information and then request an IP form the DHCP server.

Once the phones were stuck in this state we manually erased the DHCp configuration from the phone and they came up fine. We did leave several in the Configuring IP state, (NOTE: we know this Configuring IP state is dynamic to general network connectivity issues as we see it when a phone can only bootstrap and not even reach the network) and when I came in the next morning they were all up and registered.

The big question is, "What released the information to bring the phone online?" Was it the switch that timed out or the phone that finally flushed the information and sent a valid CDP request?

    Thanks,

I am implementing a search-driven carousel in SharePoint Online 2013 Preview like this one: http://www.blendmaster.net/blog/2012/11/search-driven-twitter-bootstrap-carousel-in-sharepoint-2013/.
Unlike that one, I am implementing it using the Search Results web part, not the Content Search web part, because the latter one isn't available in SharePoint Online 2013 Preview.
It is working, however, as well as customising the control and item display templates, I am wanting to customise the group display template; however, I can't find how to register the group display template.
Does anyone know how to associate a group display template with a control display template or, alternatively, how to associate the group display template with the Search Results web part?
    Regards,

    DB:2.48:Group Display Templates k3

Are group templates even available in the CSWP Display templates? It seems I saw on this blog a reference of OOTB templates and only saw a group template for the Search Results Web Part. I have read other posts where you could actually inject a group template
into the CSWP. Even with that I do not see any examples of how to build the query rule and result block so that you can group results using the CSWP.
Am I barking up the wrong tree with trying to roll-up content using the CSWP? It seems that everyone wants to group their results like they did using the CQWP but this seems to be very difficult or not well documented. I, for one, have been struggling with
this for weeks without any success. This should not be so difficult.
If we don't use the CSWP for content roll-up then what are my other options for cross site-collection roll-ups?

DB:2.48:Only Publishing Site Templates Available For Creation Of New Site jc

I have created a site collection with a publishing site. I would like to have some team sites under it - but only two templates are available when I try to create a new subsite: Publishing Site with Workflow and Enterprise Wiki. If I create site collections
based on Wiki or Teamsite, I have all the templates available when creating subsites under them. Howcome that I only get these two templates when the site collection is based on the publishing site?
    I use Sharepoint Online 2010.

    Hi Peter,
By default for a publishing site only those three templates are available. you can navigate to Site Actions Site Settings Look And Feel Page Layout and Site template and select the required ones.
url as show below in SP 2013, also attaching screen shot for referance .../_layouts/15/AreaTemplateSettings.aspx

    Hello ssandu,

This question would be better asked on the Office 365 Community forums, you can find a hyperlink below:

    http://community.office365.com/

In order to add a web part that pulls information from your team site and populates it on your public web site would require the site to pass credentials to the Private Facing Website, pull the data
and then populate it to your Public facing website. There is no built in functionality to allow users to do this.
