I hope you are talking about Trusted Reconciliation. Both Reconciliations are configured in OOTB connector. Search for Sch tasks:

    AD User Trusted Reconciliation

Just give search base i.e. root dn and and run the sch task.

For Target Reconciliation AD User Target Reconciliation

    DB:3.39:Re: Help In Reconciliation 18

    Hi Suren,
That field is not there in the AD.Only Create user page is holding this information. Is there a way we can configure the connector so that while recon it shd ignore this field?

If you don't want to reconcile Group try below

    1. remove entries for "Group Name memberOf" from Recon map(lookup.ADReconciliation.fieldmap) and run target recon task.

If still issue persist try below
    1. remove mapping from Process definition
    2. Goto-Resource object-click on create reconciliation profile

    --nayan

DB:3.33:Re: Ad Group Reconciliation Error pc

The problem was mainly concerning the fact that during the duplication of the connector the values into the lookup "Lookup.ADGroupReconciliation.FieldMap" were changed.
Modifying them, the reconciliation is now working.

DB:3.15:Need Help To Send A Notification When Flat File Trusted Recon Is Run m8

    Hi All,

I have created one GTC Trusted Reconciliation Flat Flile connector in OIM 11g. The OIM is integrated with OAM and OAAM. When the users are reconciled in OIM from the flat file using the connector, the default create user email notifications are not triggered.

I have created an "Email Definition" in design console and attached it on "Reconciliation Insert Event", which also is not getting triggered.

Next, I created a custom code to send email notification, created adapter for the same, created a task with this adapter to send EmialNotification and attached it on "Reconciliation Insert Event", which is also not getting triggered.

Can someone please suggest any solution to send email notification when users are created in OIM using GTC Trusted Reconciliation Flat Flile connector.

DB:3.15:Need Help To Send A Notification When Flat File Trusted Recon Is Run m8

    Hi Rajiv,

I am using the process definition that was automatically created in design console when I created the Trusted Recon connector. There is no create user task on that process definition which makes sense since it is only a Trusted recon and has no provisioning. It has tasks such as Reconciliation Insert Received, Reconciliation Delete Received and some such tasks. But when I run the recon using the Admin console, I am not sure which task is called or if it is called at all. I attached an email notification on almost all tasks to check if one of the tasks is triggered during the recon but I dont see that happening. I was expecting the Reconciliation Insert received task atleast to run. So attaching the email definition didn't work.

And as for Xellerate users process definition, well the thing is email is being sent properly as per the default functionality whenever I create users through UI. So if I attach a notification on Xellerate User process definition, I suppose it will start sending emails twice. Hence hadn't done it. Correct me if I am wrong.

Next, I also created an Event Handler and registered it as plugin for create user operation as post-process handler. But it wasn't triggered. I think the event handlers are not triggered during recon since even my other event handlers are not working.

Please suggest some way to help me achieve this.

    Thanks,

to achieve disabling i trigger a process task (depending on the status field passed in from target system) , which has a tcCompleteTask adapter

For whatever check you are doing to see if it's disabled or not, the response on that task needs to actualy trigger the disable task, not just set the OIM status to disabled.

DB:3.07:Ad Target Recon Resource Status 89

The status is determined at the time the task is inserted. You can create a task called "Set Status Provisioned" and add the auto complete adapter to the task. Then set the task to object status mapping to Complete=Provisioned like you want. Now manually insert the task into the provisioned instance and your status will now be Provisioned. If you need to do all users, i would suggest you set the Reconciliation Update task to object status to Provisioned, and re-run the full recon so that the task is inserted into all users. Or you need to custom code to insert the task you made into all instances.

    Hi,

We're using OIM 11.1.1.5.2, with the 9.1.0.5 Database Application Tables connector.
Sometime ago we created the connector from the OIM advanced administrative console to run Full Reconciliation, because at that moment the users table did not have a field with the timestamp of the update for each user. Now, we're using a date field that was unused before as the modification date field, we even created a trigger on the target database to make sure all modifications are recorded.

We went to the OIM advance administrative console again, manage connector, searched for our connector, then "Edit Parameters" and changed the "Timestamp Attribute" attribute to the date field, and we changed "Reconciliation Type" to "Incremental" on the same page. After that we saved the changes and the compilation of the connector ended without errors. I'm pretty sure it was modified because i had to re attach all prepopulate adapters and create are custom process task...

The problem is, we ran the reconciliation after that, and it still runs the full recon. OIM still generates events for all users. Is there anything else we should do to change the reconciliation type? Are there any files needed to be edited or any table or lookup to make sure it changed? I couldn't find the place were the reconciliation query is kept for this connector.

    Thanks.

Well, everything worked out just by re-trying the modification a few times. Seems that sometimes the update is just fails for no reason and shows no errors. Closing the thread.

    DB:2.95:Target System Reconciliation c9

Iam implementing a Target System Reconciliation for one of the resources which we have been provisioning already . I have developed a custom class which polls in user's resouce data from the target system DB and maps to the resource in OIM . the recon events are getting generated but instead of updating the existing user's Process form pertaining to the resouce , a new resource is being generated for the user every time i create a recon event .

The resource has a process form and child form attached to it . i have added new attributes to the process form .

My requirement is just to update the Process form with the value for updated attributes in the target system for those users who already have this resource provisionied to them OIM.

can anyone please advise on this?

    Thanks

    DB:2.95:Target System Reconciliation c9

    hi deborah

i do have a key defined on the child table mappings . my child table has only one field and it has one to -many relationship with the parent form . i have defined it as multi-valued attribute .

Now what happens it expects atleast one matching row in OIM child form , only then will update the form with values from target system. my requirement is even if the child form in OIM is empty , i need to upload all the values from target system . Target system will be the authorative source for this resource .

    thanks

DB:2.95:Run A Task After Clcompile Regardless Of Success Or Failure? sk

I have a custom preprocessing target that I run on all source files in my project, that can potentially modify the source before it's compiled. The process is as follows:

Make a backup copy of the original source filesRun my preprocessing task on the original files, possibly modifying the sourceCompile the (possibly modified) source filesCopy the backup files back over the (possibly modified) files so the user doesn't notice that the preprocessing has even happened
When there are no compilation errors, everything works great. However, when a compilation error occurs, my post-compilation task doesn't run and the processed files remain instead of being overwritten by the original backup copies.
How can I set up the task so that it always runs?
My tasks are set up like so:
    Target Name=RunSidEval
    BeforeTargets=ClCompile
    /Target

    Target Name=CopyOriginalSidFilesBack
    AfterTargets=ClCompile
    /Target

DB:2.95:Run A Task After Clcompile Regardless Of Success Or Failure? sk

I've solved this problem, albeit in a way that is not as nice as I would like.
What I've done is duplicate the ClCompile task, and provide an OnError block at the very end that runs my CopyOriginalSidFilesBack target. This way that target runs regardless of whether or not ClCompile fails or succeeds!

    DB:2.94:Oid Organisation Provisioning Problem 17

    Hi,

In my project our requirement is to crete ou's in OID through OIM (i.e.) OID Organisation unit provisioning.
I have one field called "orgid"(mandatory field) which should be provisioned to OID.I have followed the following steps:

    1. I have created one UDF for Orgid in Create Organisation form.
    2. Same attribute i have created in OID also and added it to a custom object class and finally I have added that objectclass as a superclass for OrganisationalUnit Object class.(My moto behind this is to have Orgid as a mandatory attribute for all the organisations that are creted).
    3. In my form designer also, I have added a additional column for orgid and prepopulated the same with Organisation form orgid.
    4. I have added it in Reconciliation field in R.O. form of OID organisation and mapped the same in Process definition of OID Organisation
    5. Now while provisioning the organisation to OID, iam able to see the "orgid" prepopulated in process form but the Organisation is not getting provisioned(Create OU task is getting rejected) and throwing the error

    *"ERROR,02 Mar 2010 21:28:54,921,[XL_INTG.OID],com.thortech.xl.integration.OID.uti*
    *l.tcUtilLDAPOperationsUnable to create objectNamingException[LDAP: error code 65*
*- orgid attribute not found. Mandatory Attribute missing.]*
    *ERROR,02 Mar 2010 21:28:54,921,[XL_INTG.OID],==================================="*

6.So the error is iam not able to send this orgid value to my target(OID).

    Pls suggest on this...

    Undo every change you did..

Just Remove the Reconciliation Field Mapping from Process Definition for UserRole and UserGroup...

    Create Reconciliation Profile once again...

    Things will work...

    Don't touch anything else...

You don't want the UserRole and UserGroup... So be it... Don't let them pass through Reconciliation Field Mapping.. That's it...

Touching anywhere else will be troublesome..

Infact, It seems you can actually specify a | in ldapmultivalattr to get this to work.

    DB:2.93:Custom Reconciliation Task - Doubts 87

    Hi all,

I'm developing a custom connector for a Core Application. The process form contains a main table and three child tables. In this moment, the whole Provisioning process is done, so I can provision this resource with its child data properly.

My doubts come in the reconciliation process:

    1) I wrote a java class wich reconciles the data from the target to the OIM process form. I'm not using Dates to perform incremental reconciliation. I use the api tcreconciliationoperationsintf.ignoreEvent (which compares source and target data, I guess) and, if it returns true, then I call the createReconciliationEvent method.

Is this correct? Would it make significant performance loss by using the ignoreEvent method?

    2) I need to implement delete reconciliation. In the target system, users are never fisically deleted. A parameter is setted when a user is deleted, so I can easyly query all deleted users. I guess that the method that performs this logic is createDeleteReconciliationEvent, but I don't know when should I call this method.

Should I implement this in a different Sheduled Task or It's better to evaluate the "deleted" atribute to perform this action in the same Recon Task?

    3) Any Guideline to perform resource Activation/Desactivation through reconciliation?
    Thanks a lot,

    Hi Vishnu,

    Thanks for the reply...

Usually we do incremental reconciliation on target resource using OIM.Somebody(who is having access to update user data on target system ) has changed data via backend but not via OIM console. Now there is a mismatch between user data on target resource and according to OIM data.At this time, IDM Admin should be notified about backend user modification for that particular record.

A mail need to be send to Admin once that particular reconciliation event occurs.

I m looking for how to implement this.I have very minimal knowledge about writing Custom Schedule tasks.I knew few points about writing custom schedule task.
    1) A custom schedule task java class should extend base schedulertask class
2)It should contain init() execute() methods.

I want to know how we will tell oim to do reconciliation from target resource and wht are the things we need to consider.

    Plz help me on this.

    Hope u understand the requirement.

As documented here , has anyone managed to make this work?

I have tried setting up a GTC for SPML (no reconciliation yet - I just want to show I can provision to the other OIM!).

From step 2, things start leaving the rails.
How do I find the WSDL to retrieve the info from? (I used explorer to search for *.wsdl files)
Why don't I get presented with anything more than ID, containerID and objectClass? (no reconciliation but I thought SPML was supposed to be able to answer this)
Why do I receive an error message "SPML Response received is not compliant with the SPML V2 standard specifications" and the provisioning fails when I can successfully provision to an X.500 directory (using custom adapter) and Active Directory? OIM generated the request and reply, and it's wrong?

Can OIM actually provision to OIM? If so, how?

    Help! Please!

DB:2.92:Using Oracle Identity Manager As A Target System For Provisioning Operation z9

I believe that it is time to open a SR in metalink. I had a few problems in the past about spml on 9.0.3.x and perhaps they have not fixed them on 9.1 release.

Also you can use your own connector for webservices and forget GTC issues. We choose this approach with our customer.

I'm wandering wich is the best approach to perform reconciliation of deleted users using GTC connector. (It doesn't concile it by default, does it?).

I don't know if it's a bad idea to mark the deletion in the target table row (setting a value in a column) and revoke the user through an Entity Adapter. Should it be better to develop a custom Scheduled Task for this?

In section *1.6.4.1* of the OID connector doc it mentions OID User Recon Rule. I have verified that this rule is indeed present. However, the rule mentioned in section *1.7.2.1* namely Trusted Source Recon Rule is present in the design console but is referring to resource object AD User Trusted and Xellerate User. I am starting to think that the fact that I installed the active directory connector in addition to the OID connector has created this problem... Any thoughts?

That means the adapter is not getting called. Which task in "iPlanet User" process deals with multi value attribute ?

DB:2.88:Which Task In "Iplanet User" Process Deals With Multi Value Attribute ? 37

Rajiv, you are right. I choose the "Reconciliation Create/Update/Delete Received" tasks as I could not make Kevin's suggestion work. Here is what I did and failed to trigger the custom adapter.

    (1) I created a task called "Child Table UD_MYAuth row updated" and attach my custom-adapter to it.

    (2) I found "Reconciliation Update Received" task is called whenever there is a change in multi value attributes and is called by "Target Recon", which update the multivalue in child table UD_MYAuth.

In this task I mentioned the child table (UD_MYAuth) and trigger type as 'update'. The idea was to trigger the exclusive child-table related task created in step-1 from this "recon update Rcvd" task.

    (3) To test this setup, I changes the multi-valued data of a user in LDAP and ran the "Target Recon". I found that adapter code was not executed, that means "Child Table UDMYAuth row updated" task was not called.

Since I have mentioned the child table and trigger type in "Recon Update Rcvd" task, should not it trigger "child table xxx row updated" task ? I could not make it work.

    Hello,

I have a custom connector that I need to set up. To provision to this system, I will write the provisioning information into a file. The target system takes that info and somehow knows how to consume it.

I am wondering how I can set up the reconciliation process from that target system back to OIM. Can OIM do a target reconciliation from a flat file?

    Any format standards to follow?

    Thanks

    Khanh

DB:2.87:How To Set Up Reconciliation For A Custom Resource? 39

You can do both, but you must code accordingly for it, and have an overall understanding that you are modifying your trusted source, so those changes will come back to the user profile. If there is another piece of your target you wish to manage, then you should only modify that part. You wouldn't want to actually create users in the target, you'd want to make sure they are always done through reconciliation. You could also make the object of System type, so that it will not show up in provisioning requests.

    * What should be the prototype of the java task to acheive this ?

    Any code snippet would help.

DB:2.87:Oim: Connector Reconciliation Via Rmi ax

Is it possible to create a custom client that does a remote invocation of the reconciliation process for a connector? I have a scenario that may require me to selectively reconcile small groups of users on demand, so I'd like to call the reconciliation task remotely with a custom filter query.

DB:2.87:Oim: Connector Reconciliation Via Rmi ax

The recon APIs can be found in the tcReconciliationOperationsIntf. In your OIM doc folder there should be a javadoc of the APIs (I just checked the online versions of the doc and it seems like the javadoc has been removed for some strange reason).

If you load the standard set of jars for the custom client you will get the recon APIs together with all of the other APIs. You can find more info about the custom client in the API Usage Guide.

    Hope this helps

DB:2.86:Oim 11gr2 Active Directory User Target Recon Error pj

    Hi,

I am running the "Active Directory User Target Recon" in OIM 11gR2 scheduler. I did the following settings in design console.

    1. Created Reconciliation Profile in the Object Reconciliation tab of the Resource Objects for AD User.
    2. In the Reconciliation Field Mappings of the Process Definition for AD User i removed the KEY from IT Resource Name and Unique ID fileds and put the KEY for UserId field.
    3. Changed the Reconciliation Rule for "AD User Target Recon Rule" to "ASSIT_INITIALS Equals User Id".

Now i ran the "Active Directory User Target Recon" schedule task. The task completes with success status but the records are not getting reconciled in UD_ADUSER table and the following exception comes in the logs:

Need to validate couple of attributes format and data, before OIM reconciliation engine processes it and updates resource.

Basically, for AD Trusted Recon can do it by Pre-Update and if validation fails can throw Error so update will not go through.

But for AD Target Recon unable to figure out the solution.

DB:2.85:Ad Trusted Recon - Problem With Organization Name 1p

    Hi all,

I am working with OIM 9.1 and OIM connector pack 9.0.4.1. After following the steps detailed in the AD Connector installation guide for configuring the resource as Trusted, everything is working fine (user/group/organization provisioning plus groups recon) but the User recon.

If a create a user in OIM and AD, I get "Event received" for both Xellerate User and AD User, and the user status in the Manage User screen changes to "Deleted".

On the other hand, when I run the reconciliation task I get "Event received" for Xellerate User and "No match found" for "AD User".

I have enabled the log for AD, and it seems there is a problem with the organization field mapping, since I get the following error "Mandatory fields are blank or null." when reconciling AD users that do not exist in OIM.

Looking above in the logs I can see the mapping and the organization is blank:

    User hashtable is: {name=a10 b10, Xellerate Type=End-User, userAccountControl=66048, First Name=a10, User ID=test10, instanceType=4, IT Resource=ADITResource, whenChanged=20080414084251.0Z, objectGUID=c0a25c6855358041a290e03628125d4f, [b]Organization=, cn=a10 b10, Role=Full-Time, displayName=a10 b10, distinguishedName=CN=a10 b10,CN=Users,DC=test,DC=com, Last Name=b10}

DB:2.82:Oim 11g Dbat Connector - User Update Not Working After Target Recon 9s

    Hi,

I have configured a resource (XSVR3) with the DBAT 9.1.0.5.0 connector to do provisioning and target recon to and from the same custom database table, following the example found on the connector guide. Now what happens is the following:
    - if I first provision the resource to the user everything works fine
    - if a resource is first assigned to a user as a result of a target recon, the connector then fails at propagating to the table any changes I make in the process form, returning the following error:
8-gen-2013 16.44.16 CET Error OIMCP.DATC BEA-000000 Class/Method: DBFacade/updateParentRecord encounter some problems: Empty parent row cannot be updated. Please ensure to run reconciliation task to bring the systems in sync.

    at com.thortech.xl.gc.impl.common.DBFacade.updateParentRecord(Unknown Source)
    at com.thortech.xl.gc.impl.prov.DBProvisioningTransportProvider.sendData(Unknown Source)
    ...
It looks like the connector is unable to find the record that needs to be updated. I've looked into the process form table of the resource on the DB (called UD_XSVR3), and I noticed that records resulting from target reconciliation have a null in the UD_XSVR3_ID column, while records resulting from a direct provisioning have the username in the same column. Updating manually the column in the first kind of records fixes the issue, but I need to know if/what have I missed in the connector configuration.

    thanks in advance
    Alex

Hey I think problem is with your process task adapter only. I think it is sending null value to process form and null can't be updated to the target resource.

See what have you written in your process task adapter. It may be returning NULL.

Are you using your java code to populate it in process form or just using Set Variable task of Logical Type.

    Hello Experts,

I have to change the reconciliation rule for AD USer resource Object such that the reconciliation happens on the basis of employeeID attribute of Active Directory.
    For this

    1. I created a custom attribute with the name Employee ID in OIM.
    2. I added an Employee ID field in the Reconciliation Fields section of the Object Reconciliation tab and did Create Reconciliation Profile.
    3. I updated the Lookup.ActiveDirectory.UM.ReconAttrMap lookup in accordance with the Employee ID field created in step 2.
    4. I created a new version of the UD_ADUSER form and added a new field UD_ADUSER_EMPLOYEEID. Then i activated this new version.
    5. In the process definition of AD User i added a new Reconciliation Field Mapping as *Employee ID[String] = UD_ADUSER_EMPLOYEEID*.
    6. Then i navigated to the Reconciliation Rule section of the Design Console and for the AD User resource object i changed the default rule to Employee Number equals Employee ID and did Create Reconciliation Profile.
    7. Now i opened the Active Directory User Target Recon and changed the filter condition in accordance with the employee number eg: equalTo('employeeID','+someEmployeeNumber+') and ran the schedule job.

Seems like the resource object against which you are performing the reconciliation does not have any reconciliation Fields ..

Go to the resource object and check under Object Reconciliation == Reconciliation Fields

    Hi,

I was doing target reconciliation for OID and Active Directory resources. It was working fine till today. Now if i do target reconciliation it just shows as Event received in reconciliation manger and does not apply the Matching rule. If i go to a record and click reapply matching rule it will establish the link. So my problem is it is not automatically applying the matching rule.

    Thanks Regards,

    Hi,

I have checked the JMS today and it shows passed.

What i have noticed today is all the event received status changed automatically to event linked, i guess it was stuck in the queue as mentioned in one of the forums.

    Problem in Reconciliation

But i would like to know how can i avoid this and if it occurs again in future, how can i fix it immediately without waiting for the queue to processes it.

    Thanks

DB:2.80:Oim 11gr2 - Reconciliation With No Trust sa

Hi experts,I have a Database User Resource provisioned by OIM.Now I would run periodically a target reconciliation over it to discover any difference on users attributes between OIM and the database.Suppose someone modifies from the backend the privileges of a user on a database, I would run a target recon so that a subsequent report could alert me about a difference between the user's privileges in OIM and on the database. The problem is that a default recon pulls data from the target and assumes they are correct. Is there any flag I can change in the recon profile so it doesn't trust the target user's attributes?I found in a old post that using "ignoreEvent" could do that, but it requires to code a new recon task.....MTIA

If your reconciliation is failed, "Reconciliation Insert " task wont be generated , what to talk about triggering something on its response .

    Thanks

    DB:2.80:Re: Trusted Reconciliation Notification c7

    In the reconciliation manager screen:
the action always starts with "Event Received" then if successful it will go to "Data Sorted" then "User Matched" then "Linked to User"

Can we delay checking the status field until OIM finishes processing the recon. event and the status becomes "Event Linked" or otherwise?

Maybe the scheduled task is the way to go.

    Hi,

I encountered this problem and its clearly a permission issue. Please validate that who is the owner (User who created the table) of Studenti_test table. In GTC configuration you need to give the paramter as schemaname.tablename and schemaname will be the name of user who create the table. Please let me know if that helps.

    DB:2.79:One-Time Reconciliation In Xellerate 1s

    Hi,

I read in the Connector Framework Guide that one-time reconciliation can be done with target systems to import all accounts into Xellerate. Then, Xellerate can be used to provision from there onwards.

Currently, I've got trusted source reconciliation from Active Directory to Xellerate such that users in AD are reconciled and created as Xellerate Users. I also have an access policy that provisions the AD resource to all users but this error occurs:

    17:22:56,796 INFO [STDOUT] Problem creating object: javax.naming.NameAlreadyBoundException: [LDAP: error code 68 - 00000524: UpdErr: DSID-031A0F4B, problem 6005 (ENTRY_EXISTS), data 0 ]; remaining name 'cn=MANUALUSER15'

Basically, I want to do one-time reconciliation from 2 sources (AD and another source) but from then onwards, Xellerate will be used to manage users and no more reconciliation needs to occur from the sources.

I'm not sure whether I've correctly configured what I need to. Any help would be really appreciated.

    DB:2.79:One-Time Reconciliation In Xellerate 1s

ok, so what you need to do is the following.....

    1. Set up trusted reconciliation from AD -- OIM. (make sure you do this before you set up the automated provisioning access policy, or if it is already in place, disable it by assigning the policy to a bogus group that has no members in it.)

    2. Once your "trusted" reconciliation has beed completed. You need to remove the reconcilation mappings from the xellerate user for the AD reconciliation.

    3. Modify your AD reconciliation process so that it is no longer "trusted". now you can link your existing AD users ( with associated group memberships etc...) to your OIM accounts.

    4. re-enable your access policy ( by associating it back with the group you originally had it )

We are trying to reconcile the active directory with the OIM. At present, we are able to provision users, created in OIM, to the AD.

The following parameter have been defined in the IT Resource for the Active Directory.

    AD Sync installed (yes/no)-----------yes
    ADDisableAttr Lookup Definition---------Lookup.ADProvisioning.DisableAttrLookup
    ADGroup LookUp Definition-----------------Lookup.ADReconliation.GroupLookup

    AtMap Group---------------------------AtMap.ADGroup
    Custom Attribute Name--------------------

    Last Modified Time Stamp----------------------20070611080707.0Z

    Server Address--------------------------VDC01.domain.local
    Target Locale: Country---------------------------US
    Target Locale: Language------------------en
    Use Disable Attr--------------------false
    Use SSL -----------------------------true

Using these parameters, we are able to Create and provision users the resource (users are created in the active directory).

But the reconciliation part i.e. where we get to see all the users who are in the AD, is not working (users are from the active directory are not displayed in the OIM)

When we run the scheduled task, the following error is displayed in the jboss

    17:59:19,570 ERROR [ACTIVEDIRECTORYCONTROLLER]Error during search : javax.naming.NameNotFoundException:[LDAP: error code 32 - 0000208D: NameErr: DSID-031001C6, problem 2001 (NO_OBJECT), data 0, best match of:'DC=vesltech,DC=local']; remaining name''

Please anyone who has any idea to this we would appriciate.

    We've got a similar problem.
I found out that (in my situation, but I think it is common) that it seems to have to do with rights. Adding the user in the role (making them member of) readers (or administrators) did solve the problem that logging into our application did not work.

Now I'm searching which attribute or right or setting should be set, so that inherited our users in the container users do get the proper rights/settings/attribute to make them able to read their (ADAM) attributes during login and being able to change their own password.

Would appreciate any (how-to detail) feedback as I'm fairly new to ldap and ADAM.

    Hello community,

I built a custom connector to perform provisioning (create, modify, enable, suspend, disable, and delete users). In order to accomplish that I was given the WSDLs to different partners of the organization I was doing this for. Among the methods that I wrote, I have a getUsers() method that I can use to retrieve in XML format ALL users from the target resource. The client wants to perform reconciliation and I was wondering if, given the fact that I have Java code to retrieve and loop through users, what the best approach is to proceed. Let me explain this better and a little more graphically.

Company A is a big distributor of product XYZ. Company A has regional partners: partner1, partner2, and partner3. My custom connector successfully provision accounts to those target systems. It is tested and deployed. The custom connector uses custom Java code that I wrote to call different methods in a web service. One of the methods is getUsers().

Company A wants to reconcile the accounts from partner1, partner2, and partner3. For example if managerX runs the job for partner1 all accounts from partner1 will be reconciled. Is there a programmatic way to accomplish that?? Can I create a custom scheduled task that calls the service method getUsers() loop through them and programatically reconcile the accounts? What is the best practice/best approach for this?

Once this task gets called, i am expecting Field Name updated task to be called automatically. So I attached "tcCompleteTask" on "Reconciliation Insert Received" and on response "Event Processed" in response tab, I am calling process task "Copy value to process form" as task to generate. But once the event is linked, i dont see "Copy value to process form" is getting called. What is the best way to call Copy value to process form task so that the other task Field Name updated gets called by default. Please advise.

DB:2.74:Need To Call Task On Recon Insert Received 8m

you can do one thing..first and another process task in PD..then attach this task on success/event received/completion of task "Reconciliation Insert Received"

In your case. you have to configure AD as Trusted source. follow the document for trusted source configuration and then run "AD Trusted Recon" scheduled task instead of target recon. So, this will create user in OIM

    DB:2.74:Re: Ad Full Reconciliation zp

Open the design console under Resource Management are the Resource Objects. Open your resource object and click the reconciliation tab. From there you can see the reconciliation action rules.

In 11g, any change requires you click the Create Reconciliation Profile button though.

Along with trusted RO , you have to use CreateReconEvent API in a different way ,

    createReconciliationEvent(RO_NAME,

    Hi,

As per the documentation, I imporeted the DBUM TRUSTED RECON xml and that created a DBUM TRUSTED USER RO. This is 9103 DBUM Connector Version

Configured the Target Source as Trusted source by selecting the check box as Trusted Source for ORACLE DB USER RO.

Configured the schedule task DBUM Oracle Trusted Resource User Reconciliation with RO = DBUM Trusted User

And the recon rules are also defined.

When we run the schedule task for trusted source recon, it gets the users into IDM, But there is not link to the target resource (DBUM ORACLE).

    Please suggest.

the path should be right because if i build the solution while the assemblyinfo.cs is opened in visual studio, it asks me after the build if it should reload the assemblyinfo.cs. After reload i can see the new version number.

When i build the solution again the dll has the version from the build before. So the path should be right. A similar task worked with the msbuild shipped with visual studio 2005. Maybe something changed..

DB:2.72:Target Reconciliation New Process Form Issue kc

I am looking for some help to determine if the behaviour I'm experiencing is expected or not. Here is the situation:

    OIM 11g (11.1.1.5.0)

    1) Installed and configured connector SJSDS_9.0.4.15.0
    2) Added 2 new attributes to process form
    3) Made new form active
    4) Mapped 2 new attributes to lookup definitions
    5) Added 2 new attributes to resource object
    6) Created Reconciliation Profile
    7) Created user A in OIM
    8) Created user A in LDAP
    9) Ran iPlanet User Target Recon Task
    10) Checked user A in OIM and verified resource added to user 2 new attribute fields and values visible
    11) Repeat steps 2-6 for another additional attribute
    12) Created user B in OIM
    13) Created user B in LDAP
    14) Set Target Resource Reconciliation Time Stamp to 0 in the IT Resource to invoke reconciliation of all users
    15) Ran iPlanet User Target Recon Task
    16) Checked user B in OIM and verified resource added to user 3 new attribute fields and values visible

    and now the problem
    17) Checked user A in OIM and the third attribute field/value is NOT visible

It appears that OIM is using the old version of the form for user A but is using the new version of the form for user B.

Is this correct? If not, what have I missed to make the new form "active" for all users? Thank you in advance.

DB:2.72:Target Recon Does Not Link Accounts With Oim User fk

    Hi all,

We have developed a custom connector (provisioning and reconciliation connector) to integrate a custom LDAP server.

It is not a trusted source, so, we are performing a target reconciliation.
We have OIM populated with all the users (by a bulk load from a HR resource). Then, when we integrate the LDAP server resource, in the first time reconciliation, we expect that OIM will link LDAP accounts with OIM users, using OIM User ID and LDAP uid attribute for matching.

Our reconciliation connector creates reconciliation events ok, but we always get "not match found" as reconciliation event status.

In the Process Definition we have configured "User ID" as key field, mathed with "User ID" Field of the Resource Object, and uid LDAP attribute.
We have defined all the reconciliation fields in the Resource Objetc.

Why OIM is not matching resource account with OIM users, creating a resource (provisioned resource) for each OIM user?
It seems that OIM is trying to match reconciliation events against already provisioned resources for users, and not against OIM users.
    Any ideas?

DB:2.72:Target Recon Does Not Link Accounts With Oim User fk

    Hi,

After running bulk loading from the HR resource, all your target Users will get created at OIM. Now if you try to run Target Resource Reconciliation against that LDAP targetfor these records, the first thing OIM will do is to execute the reconciliation rule. After successful matching of this rule OIM will see for Process matching. So try this out after defining a reconciliation rule for your Resource Object with the following rule element values.

User Profile Data - User Login
    Operator - Equals
Attribute - uid LDAP attribute *(Primary Field at the target Or the filed against which you want the matching at OIM)*
    Transform - None

Object should be Your RO + Rule should be Valid and Active

After this matching you need to have the Reconciliation Action rules in place as well. Check that the following two rules exist:

Go to Resource Object - Object Reconciliation - Reconciliation Action Rules

    1) One Entity match Found - Establish link \\\\\ *(must for your case)* \\\\\
    2) One Process Match Found - Establish link

If not create the rules and Try then.

    Hi,

If you are updating OIM profile so I assume you are doing trusted reconciliation so do the following check.

1.Does the reconciliation rule is created or not.
2.If yes try to re-apply the rule.Does it match? If not then see the error log.If you can figure out what the error is then you can find out the solution if not then paste the error here and we can try to find out the solution.

DB:2.71:Re: Link The Existing Ad Account Before It Tries To Create 97

    1) Well for linking the existing user in AD to the OIM users, you would want to run the AD Target Resource Reconciliation and that is something you should do. Here is a reason for that: AD generates a run time value GUID and thats precisely a key field for AD connector for future reconciliations. If you are using this field then better run this scheduler and you are all set for future tasks as well.

    2) Now there is another field which may be used for reconciliation rule- SAMAccountName and this is what is causing this error for you. You can anyway build a custom process task in the OOTB connector which checks the validity of the AD ID (SAMAccountName). For your case if ID is found to be existing then just call another dummy process task Link User which is mapped to an adapter that just returns Success and the Task to object status mapping should be set to Provisioned for response Completed and so your process form attributes are intact and resource status shows as Provisioned. Next update task for this user runs successfully.

But here is the deal, your AD and OIM are not in sync, so you have to run a scheduler AD Target Resource Reconciliation anyway.

So better is just suppress the logic for Access policy invocation for initial user reconciliation and have all these users created in OIM. Now run AD Target Resource Reconciliation scheduler, this links those accounts to OIM user. Now your target AD and OIM are in sync. Just re-set those access policies and you are all set.

    Thanks

    Sunny

DB:2.71:Oim 11gr2 Provisioning With Gtc zx

    Hello,

We are curently implementing Oracle Identity Manager 11gR2, and we are having difficulties with the implementation of the provisioning from OIM to the Target Systems exposed through a webservice on Oracle Service Bus.

We are using the Generic Technology Connectors as a basis of working. And initially we have created a GTC with only reconciliation Transport Format Providers:

    Connector Name TargetSystem1

    Transport Provider (Provisioning):

    Format Provider (Provisioning):

Transport Provider (Reconciliation): Database Application Tables Reconciliation

Format Provider (Reconciliation): Database Application Tables Reconciliation

We have configured the Process Definition of TargetSystem1 with all the operations (Create User, Update User, Enable User, Disable User, Delete User, etc.) connected with custom Java implementations, that are working just fine is we trigger them form Eclipse. The Create User task has only Required for Completion, Allow Cancelation while Pending and Allow multiple instances check boxes set to CHECKED; it also has all the fields in Integration TAB mapped, Responses mapped, but when we create a User in OIM and provision it with an account on the TargetSystem1_GTC Application Instance, the provisioning process in not accessing the Create User task to make the provisioning in the target system. The user that we are trying to provision has the account Status set to Provisioning and the Account Type set to Unknown. We have also checked the logs of OSB, but there is no activity there, because no request from OIM is being received.

After we investigated more closely the Oracle documentation for the Generic Technology Connectors we discovered that if we do not select Transport Format Providers during the GTC creation, then the corresponding steps are not performed and they are not initialized, thus the provisioning cannot be done. The documentation also states that if we need to create custom providers in order to make the Provisioning with the GTC, but unfortunately we have no knowledge or any examples on how to do such custom providers for the provisioning of Users from OIM on the target systems via the Oracle Service Bus.

We have installed a second GTC with both provisioning and reconciliation Transport Format Providers:

    Connector Name: TargetSystem2

    Transport Provider (Provisioning): Web Services

    Format Provider (Provisioning): SPML

Transport Provider (Reconciliation): Database Application Tables Reconciliation

Format Provider (Reconciliation): Database Application Tables Reconciliation

The Web Services and SPML options were the only options that we could select from the out of the box connectors that are installed, and we did not find any other connectors in the download section of Oracle for this product, that can accommodate such communication. So, we configured the provisioning accordingly, and modified the Create User task from the TargetSystem2_GTC Process Definition, in order to use our custom adaptor instead of the adpTargetSystem2_GTC adapter that was preset when the TargetSystem2_GTC is created. But this does not help us, because the provisioning is not done, and the Create User task is not used. The user that we are trying to provision has the account Status set to Provisioning and the Account Type set to Unknown.

Next we tried to see if the GTC can be used to communicate directly with the OSB, using the Web Services Transport Provider and SPML Format Provider, and we did not make any modifications to the after the normal installation of the TargetSystem2 GTC. In this case the we can see that the OSB is being accessed by OIM, but unfortunately this case does not help us also, because the operations implemented on the OSB webservice have a different structure then the one SPML expects as default:

Caused by: com.thortech.xl.gc.exception.XSDValidationException: The SOAP response does not contain a valid SPML response type. Should be one of these --addResponse modifyResponse deleteResponse resumeResponse suspendResponse setPasswordResponse

Do you have any suggestion on how to make the provisioning process work?

DB:2.69:Custom Task: Assembly Could Not Be Found 9x

I had the same problem. Putting the assembly into the GAC and specifying the AssemblyName=theNameOfTheAssembly does not work. After doing some research and finding out that the MSBuild engine uses Assembly.Load to load the assembly, I saw what the problem was. Specifying only the AssemblyName=theNameOfTheAssembly makes the the Assembly.Load method to look only in the calling application folder. To load an assembly form the GAC you must give it the full assembly name as AssemblyName=theNameOfTheAssembly, Version=xxxxxx,  Culture=xxxxx, PublicKeyToken=xxxxxxxxxxxx.

I am testing reconciliation with OIM 11.1.1.3 and AD via trusted source recon. Recon assigns "Consultant" employee type by default. However i also have access policy that provisions AD User and i believe it is getting triggered because of this and remains in "provisioning" status. Upon review of resource history "create user" task is getting triggered and failing which is not supposed to happen in the first place.

Am i doing something wrong here, isn't AD user target recon supposed to connect the OIM with AD User resource.

DB:2.68:Question Regarding Task Sequences And Apply Drivers 8f

Is it possible to use a custom task sequence to update drivers on a Vista machine - after the machine has been built?

I was thinking along the lines of:

Create Custom Task Sequence, 1 step which is Drivers-Apply Driver package.   Advertise this task sequence to a collection.

Now, in theory, you can do the above, but when the target machine receives the advertisement, I get the error package not yet available.   Although, the package is on the DP already.....

Is it not possible to do this?

DB:2.68:Question Regarding Task Sequences And Apply Drivers 8f

Unfortunately it is not possible to use the Auto Apply Drivers or Apply Driver Package actions outside of an OS deployment task sequence (it needs to run in WinPE between an Apply OS and Setup Windows and ConfigMgr action).  For driver management after deployment we recommend using the software updates feature.

    Hi,

We are using createReconciliationEvent (String, HashMap, Boolean) to create the target reconciliation. Events are generated successfully. But initially the events came in "Event Recieved" state and once we click the "Reapply Matching Rules" from design console recon rule will be evaluated and event get linked accordingly. It seems that Recnciliation Rules are not evaluating automatically but i couldn't able to find out any configuration which i miss. Any idea?

    TIA...

    DB:2.67:Custom Reconciliation Connector ks

You can either supply true for your boolean value, or use the finishReconciliationEvent. The finish allows you to create the event, and then add child data. If you have no child data, just use the create with a true for the boolean.

If the RemoveDir doesn't have to run (because the directory is not there,) the MakeDir does it's thing and everything works. Here is some snipped up output of a couple of runs with /v:diagSuccessful run where removedir doesn't do anything....Target Clean: Using "RemoveDir" task from assembly "Microsoft.Build.TasksCulture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a". Task "RemoveDir" Directory "..\source\inc" doesn't exist. Skipping. Done executing task "RemoveDir".snip... Task "MakeDir" Creating directory "..\source\inc". Command: md "..\source\inc" Done executing task "MakeDir".Failed run where removedir does do something.Target Clean: Using "RemoveDir" task from assembly "Microsoft.Build.TasksCulture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a". Task "RemoveDir" Removing directory "..\source\inc". Command: rd /s /q "..\source\inc" Done executing task "RemoveDir".snip... Using "MakeDir" task from assembly "Microsoft.Build.Taskslture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a". Task "MakeDir" Done executing task "MakeDir".I've also run this with a Condition="!(Exists('$(IncDir)')" and in that case I get this output for the MakeDir... Task "MakeDir" skipped, due to false condition; (!Exists('$(IncDir)')) was evaluated as (!Exists('..\source\inc')).I also tried using an Exec task to run "mkdir" but that resulted in the same failure pattern with an "access is denied" error as the output of the Exec task.Any Ideas?thanks, nathan

    Hi Nathan,
Sorry for the delayed response.  Is there any way you could post your (entire) exact project file?  If this isn't OK, even sending me the entire contents of the diagnostic log would be helpful in diagnosing the problem.  You can send the log to msbuild at microsoft dot com and I'll be able to inspect it.  If neither of these are an option for you, we can try to diagnose the problem otherwise.
    Thanks,jeff.

On your AD User provisioning process definition, on the reconciliation mappings tab, is the child table entry marked as key?

    DB:2.64:Ad Password Reconciliation Problem 93

    Hi *,

I reconcile Ad users to OIM. But, I could not logon to oim using those reconcilied user's login and password.
It gives, "Your IFS Identity Manager User ID or password is invalid." error.

I first run the "AD User Trust Recon" task.
Then, "AD user target recon" task.
And also, i'm using port 636 with SSL enabled no AD server.

Is reconciliation process reconcile ad user's password to oim? Or is it only user's other data (except password) that reconcile to oim?

    help....

    Regards,
    Chaturanga

    DB:2.64:Ad Password Reconciliation Problem 93

    Hi,

Some additional information.......Or what I get to know.......

When we reconcile AD users to OIM, it will not reconcile Users passwords to OIM. But,...

it will set User's user ID as the password in OIM. (default behaviour of the connector)

So, users can logon to OIM using
    User ID : user login
    Password : user_login

Then, we can force every user to "change password at next logon" to true....

    Regards,
    Chaturanga

DB:2.64:Steps To Do Target Reconciliation From Database mk

    creation of It resource?
do we need to do trusted reconciliation for the table, before doing target reconciliation?

DB:2.64:Steps To Do Target Reconciliation From Database mk

There is no condition that we need to run trusted reconciliation before target reconciliation.

However, there is a need to install the connector, create GTC and then, try to run the scheduled job that will be created as a result of GTC creation.
    This will perform target reconciliation.

    Cheers,
    Vamsi.

DB:2.63:Finding Unprocessed Attribute Values From A 'No Match Founf' Event cs

I have few "No Match Found" events for target-recon events in reconciliation manager. I am writing a task schedule to automatically resubmit/close it based on certain logic. To build the logic, I need to access the unproccessed data of this 'No Match Found' event. Is there any API available for getting the value from unprocessed data ?

I tried tcReconciliationOperationsIntf, but could only get the following attributes.

    Reconciliation Manager.Key
    Objects.Key
    Users.Key
    Reconciliation Manager.Status
    Reconciliation Manager.Last Action
    Process Instance.Key
    Organizations.Key
    RCE_ADMIN_USR_KEY
    RCE_ADMIN_UGP_KEY
    RCE_DELETE_EVENT
    Reconciliation Manager.Creation Date
    Reconciliation Manager.Future Date

    I am using OIM 9101..

    Thanks!

RCB table has the data, may be you can join RCE RCB via RCE_KEY

Schedule Task is fine as you are saying. There may be something wrong with your attributes only.

As you have mentioned that No Error is coming for you in console...And you are saying nothing is coming in Reconciliation Manager ...

Just check the Reconciliation Rule...Are you able to see whether Create User Task is mapped or not ?
