    DB:4.09:Compiling Invocation Programs ? Where To Find Javai.Lib ?? c8

    Hello,
I'm having J2SE 1.4, VC++ 4.0. I'm trying to compile the invocation programs given in the Java Tutorial but I'm unable to compile since I've not found javai.lib in my J2SE folder. Can anyone help me on how to compile. Where to find javai.lib ??

    Thanks

    Wah Java!

    DB:4.09:Compiling Invocation Programs ? Where To Find Javai.Lib ?? c8

Sorry, can't help you there. That jvm.lib should work fine. As an alternative, you can (and probably should) dynamically link the jvm.dll using LoadLibrary() and use GetProcAddress() to resolve the JVM invocation methods. This gives you the flexibility to change the JVM implementation dynamically rather than having to re-link (for example, you could switch from JDK 1.3 to JDK 1.4 without re-building).

    Good luck.

    DB:2.76:Running .Cpps 97

    What errors?
In most cases the problem is that the standard library files are inlcided with a .h extension. They have no extension. Also they are placed in the namespace std.
Example: So changing #include iostream.h into
    #include iostreamusing namespace std;
Will fix most problems. Also this works in VC6 too!
Also you can only run a program that can be compiled. When there are errors in the CPP file no object file and no exe is created.

I think there were several versions of that software available. Are the versions you installed identical? I think you need the updated jgrasp software. Sometimes gotten an error that looks like some kind of checksum on a particular class (expected 64 found 61) -- but that's been a long time ago.

I am working with the i.mx53 Quick Start Board. To speed up development, I would like to be able to compile directly on the board, instead of cross-compiling on a computer then transferring the program.

On the provided Ubuntu image, generic programs compile and work, but the libraries for using the hardware (such as SPI) don't seem to be installed. Any idea where to find them?

I have also found advice about trying Linaro, but it seems all links to their hardware packages for i.mx53 are now dead.

DB:2.58:Invocation Api And Win Path d9

There are two ways to deal with finding DLLs:

o Set up your operating system so it can find the files you want. In this case, change the PATH variable.

o Do your own path specification, i.e., load from the path that you specifiy. This can complicated, because typically the system attempts to load the DLL before your code ever gets control. You can get around this by not linking against jvm.dll, but instead using "getProcAddress" to define access to the DLL at runtime instead of at link time, and using the OS loadLibrary call.

    Check @ http://sunfreeware.com/ and http://www.blastwave.org/
You can download packages directly from the first site and you can install a handy pkg-get utility from the second and easily manage packages from command line.

However, neither of those two provide Sun packages. For example, if you have /usr/bin/bash that came from SUNWbash (Sun package) and you want some package from blastwave that depends on bash, you'll have to install CSWbash (or rather pkg-get will install it for you automatically) so you end up duplicating a number of files.

DB:2.54:Information On How To Use The Managed Object Browser zf

    Hi,

There will be an update to VI SDK documentation soon and instructions will be provided there. In the meanwhile, here are some pointers

    1. For primitive arguments (int, string, etc.) where input area is a simple text field (only one row), you enter in the value as you would see them in text form. For example, an integer argument of value 10 should be just typed in as '10' (without quotes)

    2. arrays need to follow the schema definition from WSDL. For example, an argument 'int[] foo' should be entered in as

where folder tag is name of argument, type is the type of managed object and folder-123 is managed object ID.

Basically, bigger text areas require that you enter in argument according to schema definition from WSDL. In reference documentation, there is a link for "Show WSDL type definition" Clicking that link will get you schema definition for complex types.

My problem is about compiling QT-Software depending not only on QT functions, so programs which need to interact with STL. What ive found out, this usually occurs of the packager used QT_NO_STL as compiling option. For further information read my post in Arch Discussion.

Nah, its just for reading textboxes of a configuration interface and passing them to another piece of c++ code which is most likely background client interface, using STL and no QT functions, since the sources are taken out of a specific part of the project (dont ask, quite complex...)

Anyway, i thank you very much, ive got the GUI(s) running pretty fine now here

I'm just about out of ideas.

    Two things pop to mind:

    * Is javac a .bat file that sets up some environment or classpath before invoking javac.exe? Is there a reference to a zip file there?

    * In your ext directory (lib\ext under %JAVA_HOME% or %JDK_HOME% or %JRE_HOME%) is there a zip file?

Other than that, I'm stumped. Good luck.

    My questions are :
    Is 1 JRE = 1 JVM ?
Is every invocation of a java program start a separate jvm e.g. 2 instances of notepad show notepad.exe twice in task manager ?

If I start 2 java programs from command line simultaneously
    e.g. java cls1 and java cls2
Does it mean there are 2 JVMs running or are both programs running in a single jvm ?

How do I run 2 separate JVMs with the same JRE version on a single box ?

Where can I find more info ?

Whats do I have to d

    DB:2.52:Jvm Basics 9m

    Well

JVM is a specification which every JRE has to follow .

The question about two command prompt window means you are not having two jvm rather you are having two JRE's.Please correct me if i am wrong.

Infact JVM is a virtual concept .

Wonder what am I doing wrong?Sometimes this occurs when you have really old (like Microsoft's) java.exe that is in your system's Path. And your system is finding this java.exe before it finds the one in jdk 1.6.18. If you change your Path so the jdk bin directory is at the start of the Path and you no longer get that error message, then likely that is the problem.

    ERROR at line 1:
ORA-29908: missing primary invocation for ancillary operator

what did i do wrong here? please help!

DB:2.52:Using Score Keyword To Retrieve Query Weigth Gives Error pa

i know that pl/sql operator is not idiotic. but why
do they use 0 sign at the end of the text query?
and, what is 'primary invocation' anyway, please
clarify. In order to fully understand the answers to your questions you must first have some understanding of how the Oracle Extensible Indexing Framework works as the context index and contains operator are implemented via that Framework. Yes, Oracle has done some integration with the internal sql engine and CBO for improved optimzation and performance, but it is still built based on this Framework.

To answer your first question you must First recognize that the "contains" operator is not a standard sql operator. In fact it is a function that returns a value. The value returned for each successfull row is the rows' score.

You could change your query to read:

select x from table where contains('text', 'some keywords') 50 and you will get all documents returned with a score greater than 50.

    OR
select x from table where contains('text', 'some keywords') = 0 and you will get all documents returned that do no have a hit.

To answer your second question you must recognize that the context index
is not a standard index. In fact the context index is really a "user' defined index implemented via the Orace Extensible Index Framework, as I previously mentioned. By providing the 3rd paramater to the contains function you are telling the function to provide the score back to the sql engine, from the index, for use in the "standard" sql statement including the Select clause and Order By clause.

Why specifically they call it 'primary invocation' I don't know, but do think about the case if you have multiple contains within the same where clause. In this case the sql engine needs to know which score() you are operating on. So if you have the following sql you need to specify a different value for each score to be returned:

    select x, score(10), score(20)
    from table x
    where contains (text1, 'keywords',10)0
    and contains(text2,'keywords',20)0;

    Clear as mud, right!!!

    Thank you, ahead of time.BDKL

    DB:2.47:Cant Find Qmake-Qt4 as

It sounds like this is a mostly manual go through and hunt down sort of task. If youre feeling adventerous, you might want to make your changes generic (so that you could specify your qt paths and such as part of say... a configure script) and contribute your changes back to the project, im sure theyd appreciate it.

I just downloaded the javax.servlet package from Sun. Where do I put it for my programs to compile? In another words, how do I install it.

    DB:2.47:Compiling A Servlet k8

you have to add the servlet.jar file in your classpath
    for Win platform like CLASSPATH=.;c:\Your_JSDK_Dir\lib\jsdk.jar;
    for Linux/Unix platform like CLASSPATH=.:c:\Your_JSDK_Dir\lib\jsdk.jar:

Please note the . (dot) in the classpath which is mandatory to run your class from any Dir.
i think this will solve your problem.

DB:2.47:Controlling The Invocation Of Livecycle Es md

    Hi all,

I am not sure that this forum is the right one, but couldn't really find where I should put it. So here it goes as I am using PDF Generator for this project.

I need to convert a lot of documents and at the end I need to gather them in one big PDF.

Some of the document packs are very large and thereby might take a long time to merge into one big PDF, hence this process invocation might hog the server for a long time. This prevents smaller document packs (which might have to be generated in a hurry) to be prevented from accessing the server until the large document pack has been generated.

What is the possibilities in Livecycle for controlling the queueing of the invocation of processes, is there any built in functions for load balancing?

    Thanks in advance

    Sincerely

    Kim,

I am not aware of some internal load balancing in LC. I have seen people create own dispatchers to control and load balancing to pdf generators.

I am wondering why no one ever wants to see all their errors when compiling programs. Several times I have looked for someone who is in the same boat as I am. I can't seem to find any hints or solutions to this problem.

I know that when compiling code in c or c++ you can redirect any output/errors to a file in UNIX and I think MS-DOS as well. When compiling Java code you can use the script command in UNIX to solve the issue of errors scrolling off the screen, but in MS-DOS, I know no other solution than getting an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) like VIDE.

Can anyone help me with this problem. Thank you.

DB:2.45:Too Many Errors. I Want To See All Of Them In Ms-Dos. 39

It worked for me under NT. Okay, different tack: write a class using Runtime.exec() and Process.getErrorStream() which compiles, putting the error stream from javac onto stdout.

What is the most simple C++ code that will enable me to do so.You have to use the JNI Invocation API.
For a little sample have a look here: [url http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/technotes/guides/jni/spec/invocation.html#wp15926]Invocation API Overview
Or here: [url http://www.rgagnon.com/javadetails/java-0354.html]Start a JVM from C

Where can one find these header filesUnder the {JDK_HOME}/include and {JDK_HOME}/include/{OS_SPECIFIC} folders
Eg. On a Windows machine it could be: c:\jdk1.6\include and c:\jdk1.6\include\win32

which compiler is needed for compiling the wrapper. I assume Gpp or similarIt's called gcc and yes you should use it.
(On Windows you should use it by installing Cygwin or Mingw/Msys)

    Regards

DB:2.45:Re: Jni Launching A Java Application zm

The java command normally runs until there are no non daemon threads left alive. If you are creating the JVM from scratch using JNI_CreateJavaVM then it's your responsibility to shut it down using DestroyJavaVM which is hanging off the JavaVM object handed back by JNI_CreateJavaVM. This will wait around until all non daemon threads have exited, just like the java command does.

Hello, I'm wondering if anyone could help me (probably anyone because it is such an easy problem). I've been developing simple applications in Windows 95 using a simple text editor and MD dos as a compiler. Now I've moved to an Apple (using OS 9.1) and I can't seem to find where I can download the latest JDK for this platform. Also, what programs would be best for writing and compiling and where can I find them? Thankyou very much

DB:2.45:Please Help! Jdk For Mac 79

Apple has not implemented Java 2 on Mac OS 9.x, only on Mac OS X. Under Mac OS 9.x you are limited to JDK 1.1.8 available at:

    http://www.apple.com/java/

Please note that you may or may not have to add the Swing classes.

There are many development environments for the Mac including MPW and CodeWarrior. A good editor for the Mac is BBEdit, my choice for "raw HTML coding" software for the Mac. Gives you ultimate control over your HTML layout, plus tons of tools for HTML checking and tweaking. From Barebones Software at:

    Hi

Just been playing with the quickstart order demo and wanted to find out whether there will be some form of invocation context available to the component.

The specific case I have in mind is for services exposed via web services, where the SOAP messages may have header properties that need to be passed through to the service implementation - and the same issue for when invoking a referenced service were header properties need to be provided that may be included in a subsequent SOAP message to an external web service.

That is the error I mentioned. Cortex M0+ in your KL15 cannot support ARM mode instruction set. You need to check that option back, so the compiler uses the thumb instruction set.

    DB:2.43:Issues Upgrading From 2.5.1.Final To 2.5.2.Final? xs

I am getting the following error after upgrading from 2.5.1.Final to 2.5.2.Final:

Caused by: org.picketlink.idm.IdentityManagementException: Could not find mapper for attributes for type [class org.picketlink.idm.model.basic.Realm].

    at org.picketlink.idm.jpa.internal.JPAIdentityStore.getAttributeMapper(JPAIdentityStore.java:1258)

    at org.picketlink.idm.internal.DefaultPartitionManager.getPartition(DefaultPartitionManager.java:363)

    ... 72 more

This happens the first time the application leverages PicketLink (on a call to IdentityManager.add) . I really didn't anticipate having problems with such a minor upgrade. I don't even know where to start. Does anybody have any suggestions? Perhaps I was doing some wrong with 2.5.0 and 2.5.1 that did not break the PicketLink integration. Here is the full stacktrace:

DB:2.43:Vivado 2014.4 Simulation: Could Not Remove The Obj Directory z7

    Hello all,

I'm trying to run the AXI Ethernet Subsystem testbench in the vivado simulator and at the end of the build process I get an error saying "Could not remove the obj directory: boost::filesystem::remove: The directory is not empty: "xsim.dir/gigabit_ethernet_demo_tb_behav/obj".

The obj folder in question is empty by the time I'm notified.

I was unable to find anything on google or the forums regarding this issue. I tried disabling multithreading thinking a process was finishing too early but that didn't help. I also tried disabling real time protection on my antivirus.

    I run windows 7 x64.

Does anybody have any other suggestions?

    Thank you.

Here's the log output from the simulation process

    DB:2.42:Predefined Classes Location cm

I recently downloaded the javabook predefined classes. To use them I have to have their directory in the directory with the source file I'm compiling and using. But in writing these beginner programs I see I'm importing other predefined classes, like java.awt and java.lang classes. These I don't have positioned in my working directory and in fact I don't see folders like that anywhere in my system. Are these packages of predefined classes embedded in the javac or java executable files?
    Otherwise where are they?
How can I find a list of all these incorporated predefined classes?
    Thanks
    Peter

    Hi,

I'm looking for a C implementation of the Starcore C compiler intrinsic functions. We are considering cross-compiling some DSP code for testing/portability on Windows, and it would be great if I could find a C implementation of the compiler's intrinsics. Any ideas where I might find them?

    Thanks,

"Does NI or anyone else offer a service to compile Mac LabView programs into applications to run in Windows and Linux?"

    DB:2.41:Re-Compiling Service? zm

Just a bit of clarification. All LabVIEW VIs are compiled. A standalone application is built from the compiled VIs. If you need a built application, I would contact an Alliance member company to see how much they would charge. It might be a little or it might be a lot if the original Windows VIs used a lot of platform specific functions, (i.e. ActiveX). Go to http://www.ni.com/alliance/ to find a list of Alliance members.

The Pro*C manuals for 11g R2 refer me to the "operating system specific manuals" for compiling and linking and make instructions but I can not find such manuals anywhere.

    I looked here:

    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/appdev.112/e10825/toc.htm

Can anyone point me to the documentation on how to compile/link/precompile/make-utility Pro*C programs on Oracle/RedHat Linux, please?

    Many thanks!

DB:2.40:Compiling Binaries For Intel Mac Distribution jc

Hi does anyone know where I can look to find out more about compiling binaries of fortran programs for distribution to intel mac users? I have yet to install ifort on my personal mac, but statically linked binaries from our intel64 RHEL 5 cluster do not seem to work on macs (I get a very generic warning from the os "cannot execute binary file"). I only used some very basic flags (-static -g -warn) so perhaps there is a target architecture that I need to supply?

Also, I tried compiling a binary using gfortran on my home computer (mac) statically linking against libgfortran and emailing it to another personal computer (also mac) and I get some error message about unknown instruction 4. After digging around it looks like when FSF/GNU changed their licensing (from lgpl to gpl, I think) apple branched the old gcc compilers and subsequently dropped gfortran support.

Anyway, if anyone has any idea about this please let me know. Perhaps I was niave in thinking that a simple hello world type program statically linked on one *nix OS would be able to run on another *nix OS with virtually the same architecture (both recent intel64).

DB:2.40:Compiling Binaries For Intel Mac Distribution jc

Tim, thanks so much for your reply. This is consistent with the research that I have been doing. Additionally it seems that building binaries on a mac with gfortran doesn't guarantee that you can you can run them on another mac even if you specify -static-libgfortran. (Generally speaking it is impossible to compile a COMPLETELY statically linked binary on OSX, and as far as I can tell one wouldn't want to do this.) I have tried this numerous times, with numerous versions of gfortran. I have one more test to do on that from but after that I'm going to give up.

Do you know if you can use ifort (on an intel Mac) to compile binaries for distribution to other macs? I have yet to try, but after my frustrating experience with gfortran I thought I'd ask before diving into this. Any tips for building binaries on macs for distribution to other macs would be most welcome.

    Thanks,

    Z

    Hi all,

Im trying to compile some code that uses ncursesw, however I dont have the ncursesw/ncurses.h file on my system. Im new to Arch but I thought these files were normally provided by -dev packages, so ncurses-dev in this case. But I cant find this anywhere (not even in AUR) - what am I missing? There are other people here who are compiling programs using ncurses, what did you do to install the header files?

    DB:2.39:[Solved] Where Is Ncurses-Dev? (Missing .H File) 33

Ah, that did it! I misread the autoconf macro - I thought it defined a value if you had ncursesw.h present, but rather it defines a value if you have ncursesw present, and another value if you should use ncursesw/ncurses.h over just ncurses.h

    Thanks for your help!

    Hi,

could anybody help me with this?

I would like to open an image from URL.

I used Invocation and Registry classes.

    Invocation invocation = new Invocation(url, null, BlackBerryContentHandler.ID_MEDIA_CONTENT_HANDLER);
    Registry registry = Registry.getRegistry("MyPackage.MyApp");
    registry.invoke(invocation);

It works fine but when the image is opened the only menu options are "Find on page" and "Select". Generally it is not user friendly screen to operate with the image.

Is there any way how to open the image in some native BB app that can provide user to easilly zoom, rotate, save or mail the opened image. Like when opening images from SD card.

I have tried to download the image and pass it as EncodedImage to ZoomScreen which is better than invocation above but I hope anyone knows better solution.

    Thank you for your help.

    DB:2.39:Java 1.5_16 Compiles My Programs But Doesn't Run? a7

I am using Dr Java and I have a lot of old programs that I would like to run.
I had to start over and re-download the Java JDK. I tried 1.6.7 but I got an error that it couldn't
locate the source, so I went back to Java 1.5.16, which was the oldest version I could find on java.,
and now my programs are compiling but when I run them, I get a message in the bottom bar
"Running Main method of Current Document" and nothing happens (even after a few minutes).
This is happening on very simple small programs that should run instantly.
It is happening for all of the old programs that I am able to compile.
I think I was using JDK 1.5.6 when I first wrote these programs.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

DB:2.39:Web Services Dynamic Invocation (Real Time Stubs)? jp

    Hi,

I have made some basic Web Services using JDeveloper 9.0.2. WebService2 (WS2) contacts WebService1 (WS1). The thing is that when I develope WS2, I have to use a stub to contact WS1. This is to my knowledge called static invocation.

I ahve tried to find sources on OTN with dynamic invocation (where the stub is beeing generated when needed(real time) from the WSDL and methods are then invoked).

Is this solution supported with JDeveloper and also for either OC4J (Oracle Container for JAva) and/or ORacle9iAS? ANy info or suggestions about dynamic invovation will be greatly appreciated!

    Thanx in advance!

    Trond

See the OTN doc for OC4J 9.0.3 at:

    http://otn.oracle.com/docs/products/ias/doc_library/903doc_otn/index.htm

Search for the link "Proxy API Reference".

This is the API for doing dynamic proxies based on WSDL at runtime.

    Hi,

I am trying to find a way to do web services dynamic invocation where params and return type can be complex types.

The process I intent to follow is, query a uddi registry based on some search criteria to get a reference to the service wsdl. Use maybe wsdl4j to introspect the wsdl to determine porttype, operations, param data types etc and then perform a dynamic invocation.

Does anybody have any ideas on how best this can be achieved without having to reinvent the wheel.

    Thanks,

Probably you don't have a full compiler installed on your machine. You could download and install gcc if you OS doesn't come with a proper compiler by default (like Solaris and HP for example)-- Geert

    DB:2.39:Weblogic 10.0 J2ee Lib 38

In WL 10.3, I only found this package in the single jar at "wlserver_10.3/server/lib/consoleapp/APP-INF/lib/netuix_common.jar".

Depending on your motivation for precompiling, it might be easier to just set a flag in your jsp-descriptor to force precompile of all JSPs on application deployment ( [http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs100/perform/webapptune.html#wp1141919] ). This gives you the first-use performance, but it still requires deploying the JSP page itself. Some people feel that presents some risks, but I think that's overblown. If your web applications are designed such that your JSPs only have "view code", it's not really an issue anyway.
