    I took my phone to a blackberry specialist and he reloaded my software, it took about 20 min and the only info I lost was my sim card contacts. The remainder of my information was saved.

    I am having a similar problem. My BB 9900 won't connec to the wireless network (radio won't turn on), and whenever I insert my SIM, I received error 441b20and it stops looking for a network. The problem is on the phone, since the SIM card works perfectly fine on my bb 9700.

    pau1j is correct, you can just log into any BT Openzone hotspots using your My Account username and password. If you're still unable to login, please try this link, click on 'business customers' and then 'Activate your WiFi'. I'm confident you'll then be able to hop onto the hotspots.

    I think the App you're referring to is 'My Vodafone' which was made available to BlackBerry customers earlier this year. Just search for it on the BlackBerry App World and you'll be able to download it.

    Welcome to BlackBerry Support Community Forums.

    Try reinserting your battery then sending email service books to your BlackBerry. Then test by sending yourself new messages with attachments. http://bbry.lv/bpv7DT

    Messages with attachments that were received previously will need to be resent to the device after the service books have been resent in order to access those attachments from the BlackBerry.

    The two could be related. If your battery is 2 1/2 years old, it's probably on its last legs. If you haven't updated your OS in a while, you're probably running an OS that is due for an upgrade.

    I would start by trying to upgrade your OS. If you can't find a newer version, sometimes reloading the one you're currently running does the trick.

    If you have your home Wi-Fi saved as a profile in your phone's Wi-Fi list, delete it then remove your phone's battery while your phone is powered on and replace the battery a few seconds later. Next, try scanning for your home Wi-Fi once more and see if you can connect then.

    Hi, can I ask did the OS have anything to do with the keys sticking in the end or was it just a physical or electronic problem? I have a hair trigger delete key which is sometimes just taking out whole lines without me touching it... stuck down. Even when I do press it, I only need to brush over it to delete something - seems like a physical keyboard issue, but another weird phenomenon started too... I cannot press two keys simultaneously any more, eg shift and a letter to get a capital or alt and a letter to get a symbol, I have to press them sequentially or nothing happens.

    It should, but no one can guarantee that it will work with no problems 100% of the time. Thus far, those I know on ATT who have been using Bold 9900s from Rogers have had no problems. It's been exactly like using any other unlocked BlackBerry. The only concern would have been to do with service books, but since ATT already has the Torch 9810, that shouldn't be an issue.

    Of course, if things don't go perfectly, or if something goes wrong with the device, you should be aware that you may have troubles getting support from ATT. In addition, the device will not have any warranty if you're using it on ATT.I hope that info helps!

    Hi and Welcome to the Community!I realize it's been a few weeks since you posted this, but just in case...It all depends on HOW you are attempting this synchronization. If, for instance, your work admins have activated your BB onto a BES environment, then you need to talk to those admins about why this is not working. On the other hand, if instead your BB is accessing your "work stuff" via POP, IMAP, or OWA, then you cannot expect calendar and contacts to wirelessly synchronize to your BB...you must use USB tether and manually synchronize to your PC desktop Outlook for those.Good luck and let us know!

    Do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner: With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot.
    Now after reboot, attempt a download again.

    If you don't see NFC anywhere on your phone, it could be that Wind Mobile doesn't support it. Each carrier is free to tweak the software to meet their requirements and it could very well be that Wind removed NFC from their OS version.

    The good news is you can download an OS from another carrier, one that supports it. Look in these forums for the thread entitled "How to Reload Your Operating System". In it, you will find instructions for downloading and installing an OS from a carrier other than yours.

    Hi, I have tried all the steps you indicated above to sync my blackberry with my outlook. The problem I am getting is that it only wants to sync with my gmail account.

    Through setup emails screen, my gmail is the only one with the option to sync calendar and contacts.

    When I edit the options on my work email (which is an IMAP) the only item I can select is deleted items. Calendar and contacts are not even an option here and are not listed.

    I have tried deleting my gmail account from my blackberry and this changes nothing.

    When I to to contacts/calendar and select options, my only choices are Calendar Display and Actions, Conference Calling, Date and Time. There is nothing about turning off wireless sync.

    Is the problem that my email is an IMAP?

    Please help!

    there should be a map that came with your operating system. it's a green icon with a purple thingy on it.make sure you have the latest operating system.and you can download the map feature from google mobile apps. this is the one i've been using since my first bold a few years ago.- go to your web browser- go to google- type in 'google mobile app blackberry'- choose the first result- then the fourth icon is the "maps"- download it. (takes not even a minute)- then the yellow/orange map icon will appear.- voila.

    Start with a battery pull. Remove your battery while your phone is powered on then replace it a few seconds later. If that doesn't work, try reloading your OS using BlackBerry Desktop Software. If you need help doing that, please post back here and we'll guide you.

    I'm experiencing the same problem, but it started when I rebooted after updatinga number of apps, including App World.Whenever I try to get to the home screen, I get a black screen and the escape key stops working. I can access the phone log using the dial key, then switch apps from there, but can't access the home screen.

    I deleted the updated apps and tried reloading an old version of App World, but the problem continues.

    You get a free trial then I think I paid around £25for the life of the phone not bad if your on a 24 months contract like me,that's just £1 a mouth compared to £5 from vodafone.

    May I just add one last point this satnav will only take you to the street and not to the door and unlike the find and go from vodafone you have totype your address asyou can't just click on a contact like you can with find an go. But hay what other choice do we have.

    Yes, it could be a hardware problem...but if it is, then it's also impossible to truly diagnose at an internet distance. I've already given you everything I know of to try...and you listed only some of them, but not all of them. Hence, my recommendation is to return to the above and complete those sections you did not yet attempt. They may well work, or if they don't they may well indicate (not NOT diagnose, just indicate) a hardware problem, for which resolution requires in-person, not internet-distance, support.Good luck!

    Depending on who gave you this advice, you may or may not need to do this, so apologies if this is redundant...

    1) Obtain a known-good media card (e.g., one from a different yet identical BB, in which that media card is working fine)...use it in your BB and see what happens.

    2) Use your media card in an otherwise perfectly functioning identical BB...see what happens.

    3) Use your media card via a card reader on a PC...see what happens.

    The result will indicate if it's the BB or the card that is truly the root of the problem.

    If it's the BB, then it's a hardware level issue, for which in-hand support from a qualified technician would be needed...hopefully you have warranty. If so, then go see your warranty service provider...that will be your original place of purchase, your mobile service provider, or an authorized service center. The method varies by region, but you should have received documentation up front telling you your warranty rights as well as method of seeking warranty support.

    I bought a new blackberry bold 9900 smartphone just 2 months ago. within a month only some sound related problem started into it. Even if my profile is normal, then also it stops ringing and vibrating, by virute of which I miss my important calls and mails. Also when I receive or make a call then the call is connected but I can't hear other persons voice. I did the device software update also but still the problem persisted. Gave the phone for reparing also to the service center, waited for 12 days for the phone to come under an anticipation that it will be repaired.

    Hi and Welcome to the Community!!I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):1) Register HRT

    KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network

    2) Delete and Resend Service Books

    KB05000Delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone
    KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service

    3) Batt Pull Reboot

    Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

    Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should try deleting and re-adding your BIS conduits for the affected email accounts.

    Do everything it says, including waiting the maximum recommended time (perhaps longer...perhaps 5 days). Applying power to your BB between it getting wet and doing this process reduces the chances of success. Further, the only thing predictable about moisture intrusion into a BB (indeed, any electronic device) is that the results will be unpredictable. I've seen some come back up right away and be fine. I've seen others never work at all. I've seen still others run for a bit, and then die later. And every thing in between.Good luck!

    i've just bought the 9900 and previously was using 9700.

    9700 is such a beauty i've got no problems with it ! until i've switched to 9900... the performance of 9900 is superb. However after like one day of usage. the text messages starts to go crazy. i couldn't scroll up and down for some SMS and after awhile i couldn't open text messages.

    I did a battery pull out, which resolves the problem.

    after like 1-2hrs of messaging.. the problem returns... could someone please help me on that ....

    I got this device for a few months now and on the left/right side and top of the screen I see black stripes and dots....

    Obtain a known good and already fully charged additional battery...use it in your BB and see what happens
    Obtain access to a known good and identical BB...use your battery in it and see what happens

    Hello. I just bought my Bold 9900 today.

    It works fine overall with the exeption of the headphone-jack.

    When I put the headphones I can only hear from one side.

    I have tried with 2 blackberry ear-phones, 1 ear-bud and 2 headphones

    Including my speakers and my stereo. In all cases Ican only hear one side.

    I havnt dropped it or anything, its fresh out of the box.

    I'm currently with Bell, and my warranty has expired.

    The problem:

    My Blackberry Bold 9900 is not turning on.

    Hi and Welcome to the Community!

    I cannot quite tell if you have done exactly these steps, especially anything related to "known good"...hence, please try this sequence...note that, throughout the entire 4h15m process, your BB must remain connected to a known-good wall charger (not PC USB):

    With the battery inside, connect your BB to the wall charger
    Leave it alone for 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
    Remove the battery
    Wait 15 minutes
    Insert the battery
    Wait another 2hours, no matter what the LED or the display does

    This has been known to "kick start" some BBs.

    It is also possible that your battery or BB has experienced a problem...to test, this sequence is needed:

    Obtain a known good and already fully charged additional battery...use it in your BB and see what happens
    Obtain access to a known good and identical BB...use your battery in it and see what happens (you may need to do the above 4h15m process, if your battery has gone completely flat)

    The results of this will indicate if it's your BB or your battery that has the problem. It may also be both...that would be unusual, but not outside the realm of possibility.Good luck and let us know!

    In which case, that sounds to me (there can be nothing close to a 100% diagnosis at an internet distance with limited information) like a hardware problem with the device itself...a shorted wire or something. As such, you need now to seek formal warranty support, which you seek from either your original place of purchase or an authorized service center -- I do not have any way to know the terms and methods of your specific warranty, but that is what I believe you now need.Good luck!

    I just upgraded my old Bold to BB Bold 9900. The battery last not even a day (even when fully charged).

    I was told that there is an upgrade, app or ext. that we can download that helps with this problem.

    Any idea...

    DB:4.08:Bold 9900 Bundle 2061 Problem Bmw Email Display c3



    I have recently updated my Bold 9900 software to bundle 2061. Since the upgrade emails are no longer displayed in my BMW dashboard. I can still make and receive calls, sync contacts and text messages are displayed correctly but not emails.

    Can anyone help with this problem.

    Hi Jon, thanks for the reply. Progress made since yesterday as it happens, but firstly to your points:

    - MAP options were set on the phone to include the email account, SMS always worked but email never did

    - The calendar definitely does not show if I look at option in iDriveOffice, I have it split screen and it shows an empty calendar. Other blogs I have seen all suggest this mythical piece of s/w is needed on the phone, I can't believe that but then it does not work so it might be true?

    Otherwise, it is now working!

    So, I found another setting but going deeper into the Office menu options, there was a further tick box that read something like 'show email messages'and one I had definately not encountered before with several hours of messing about, it was quite a verbose one, happy to give precise details but wil need to sit and work through it again.

    My conclusion was that the Bluetooth always worked and was setup correctly, the MAP options were always present and the fact I have an Enterprise account does not seem to matter (as long as the password is entered to allow the data transfer to take place). Otherwise this one erroneous setting I found accidently seems to have done the trick.

    Hey guys

    Anybody buy the new Blackberry Bold 9900? If so any problems with the battery?? Mine is terrible!!!

    I did initially but found after two weeks the battery got better. I also found that the stock OS that it came with wasn't helping. So I upgraded to version 7.0.0.353
    To see what version you have on the home screen press and hold alt and type E A C E

    So, just to be clear and help me understand, you cannot get into Safe Mode? And none of the 3 recovery methods linked above are successful? With that limited information, then the answer to your question is no...it would seem you have some sort of hardware problem, for which no amount of OS or software fix can be of any help. Of course, hardware is likewise nearly impossible to truly diagnose at an internet distance.If you remain in warranty, then I recommend you seek support under those terms. If you have no warranty, then I recommend you seek out a local (to you) shop with a qualified BB technician to provide you with a proper evaluation and estimate.Good luck!
