    Hi all
    I have have created a report search variations where users can search by
    (consultants or clients) and (date_ from and date_to). It works fine the first time lets say if I enter consultant details and dates but I want to enter the client and date search and I don't physically clear the consultant field then I get a mixture of client and constultant between the 2 dates. I am not sure how to overcome this. Do I change work on session states or is it possible to have a radio button that the user selects the type of search and this will automatically clear this field? Or is there a much simpler way of having accurate multiple searches.

    Hi.
    Dude, you can do this in various ways, and if you want to separate the type of searches then I think that using a radio button for specifying the type of search is cool.
    Using the radio button you can (on the query) validate which type of search is the one that is valid. You can also add some javascript to disable the fields that are not considered for the search in order to help the user understand (even more) what he/she is doing.

    I am trying to do a similar thing... I have created a form application component and a Report application component which is called from the search form. This works fine.

    I expose the search form as a component and put it on a portal page. I do the same with the report.

    When I call the page and enter the search params in the form and call the report, the report appears in a separate non-portal window. I would like the report in the same portal page to be run in-line with the new parameters.

    Has anyone done this before?

    I have the following problem:

    on a page I have fields that define search criteria, and a report (query). The user can define some of the search criteria (select lists with operators).

    When the user opens the page, a query is executed and the result set is being displayed on the page. However, when the user defines some (or all) of the search criteria he wants to press the button "Apply filter" and a constricted result set has to be displayed in the page.

    Is this possible at all? Does anyone have any suggestion?

    I do something very simmilar to this,

    I set the Region type to "SQL Query (Pl/Sql Function Body Returning Sql Query)"

    and the region source to something along the lines of:

    Inside the Search Items screen on Installed Base (csiSearchProdMain.jsp) I enter in Personalize screen (through the button) to create new Search criteria.
    I want to create a Search criteria based only in the Operating Unit. The problem is that when I execute the search, it appears an error message :
    "No query is executed because the search criteria entered is insufficient. Please provide more substantial search criteria such as Item Instance, Party Name, Account Number, etc., and use LOV when possible."
    Is there any way to avoid enter more criteria? More personalizations ? (but where??)
    I'm trying to search inside classes but I don't find where are Party Name , Account Number,etc checked.

    Post Author: mkotzaCA Forum: FormulaMaybe this will work?Assuming that you have a group on Order Number in your main report and you pass the order number to the subreport: 1) declare a shared boolean variable in your main report which will be your flag that is turned on or off in the subreport (eg. m_flag) 2) make a group footer a and group footer b section. 3) put your subreport in group footer a. 4) put the data you want to print in group footer b. 5) in the subreport set m_flag to true if = item4 (or whatever your condition is). 6) go into the "Section Expert" in the group footer b and click on the x-2 button next to "Suppress". 7) In the suppress formula write shared booleanvar m_flag;m_flag;which will suppress your group footer b line if the subreport set the flag to true. I believe the footers will be run in order, so the subreport in group footer a should always run before the group footer b is printed. Thus the flag will be set and the group footer b output will be conditionally suppressed. You have to make your subreport as small as possible and without borders so you don't see it on the printout.

    On MB51 when searching for material documents for Movement Type 551 and a specific WBS Element

    there no documents returned.

    On the detail report produced by MB51 there are two WBS Element fields.

    These relate to fields PS_PSP_PNR and MAT_PSPNR on table MSEG.

    For movement type 551, on MSEG, field PS_PSP_PNR is blank and MAT_PSPNR is populated.

    It appears the WBS Element search criteria on MB51 uses field PS_PSP_PNR, hence why not

    able to search for movement type 551 and a WBS Element.

    Does anybody know a way to carry out this search ?

    Go to SPROMMInventory Mangement and Physical InventoryReportingDefine Field Selection for Material Document List

    In the above path the MB51 report can be modified, if the WBS to be available in the selection criteria select the check box adjacent to WBS so that it will be available in the selection crirteria.

    on this page user can select the criteria and perform the search.
    all the functionality is currentely works fine.

    but, i have one problem..
    when i navigate on another pages in my application and come back on search page by clicking the link of search page.
    it displays me the criteria and search result which user searched last.

    why this is done ???

    instead of this i require a fresh search page with no criteria and no any search result.

    This is only a sample code. Here "getServiceVo()" is the method to access my Service VO in the AMImpl. When you add a VO in your AM (under the Data Model), you can find auto generated methods in the AMImpl class to access that VO instance.

    how could i get the object of ViewObjectImpl ?
    how can i access my VO in my Bean ?"ViewObjectImpl" is available in your AMImpl class.
    Off-cause you can access VO in the bean but best way here is to write your reset method in AMImpl and call from your Bean through bindings.

    I have a page with an interactive report and some fields for filtering.

    I would like to prevent the interactive report from running or at least make it return no results.

    Currently this works by a condition which prevents rendering of the region when no search criteria have been entered. I want to change the search to be based on a dynamic action which refreshes the IRR. That works fine except that with the condition set the region never renders so can never be refreshed and with no condition and no criteria set the report runs as an open query.

    Any ideas?

    Create a hidden item lets say P1_MYITEM and set its default value to *2*

    Just amend the IR SQL query to add a where clause like below

    //remember the default value of item is 2 and this will evaluate to false and return no data initially
    where 1 = :P1_MYITEMBefore setting your filters and refreshing the report just set the value of the item P1_MYITEM to *1* (make sure you set the item's value into session state using Page Items to Submit property)

    So ideally the dummy where clause will now evaluate to true and the data will be shown

    I am new to SAP B1 Crystal reports. I am also facing the same issue and trying to solve this by trying/using your methods mentioned in this thread and in the other thread mentioned by Rob. But I am facing two issues here

    1. Hasvalue doesnot work in my record selection formula for some reason. It doesnot understand it gives an error.

    2. I don't see the 'Optional prompt' in 'Value options' section

    Does it mean, I am doing something wrong here or is it because of the lower version or something. Mine is 8.8 PL11 (SP00 what is it?) crystal reports..11.5.8.826

    My main issue is that all my parameter fields (String/numeric/date fields) becomes mandatory when I preview it in SAP B1 and it completely ruins the purpose. I tried the default value 'ALL' option also. But I am not able to add this since I am using parameter token. Since it takes all the possible values either from the token or 'ALL', not both.

    It would be great if someone can help me in this. Thanks

    I dont understand why it has to depend on source order or select statement order. IF I already have 10 search items and want to add a new one which is to be the first item I have to change every search item to get in correct order ????? this does not make sense .... just hope if there is ( or wish they could add this feature) easier way to do this in view criteria itself .. like moving of items (like we do on ADF table). There is a way to move bind parameters up and down ( i dont know why is that is useful ) and why there is no such feature for search items in view criteria ?

    I have created a BICS Connection by Bex Query,

    I have built a WebI Report on top of BICS connection, by using Bex as a data source.

    When I select the all objects and Run the report, then the report is working fine.

    If I select any object and placed it in Query filter than the List of values are not displaying,

    It shows as follows

    Use search criteria to retrieve values.

    The search is case sensitive. Here are examples of search criteria.

    Search = a* - Retrieve all values starting with "a".

    Search = *a - Retrieve all values ending with "a".

    Search = a*a - Retrieve all values starting and ending with "a".

    Search = a*a* - Retrieve all values starting and containing one more "a".

    Please find the attached screen shot for reference.

    This behaviour is bydesign when you build a report from BEx queries, LOV (List of Values) are delegated for characteristics.

    This behavior is by default and cannot be configured.You are therefore required to enter search patterns for the values you want to select for any prompt (query filters) on BEx characteristics.

    This is an ongoing request in SAP Idea place for enhancement.

    Hi all

    Using apex 3.0.1 on a XE edition

    In my app there's a report that displays a lot of records.
    I included an text field item, where user can type a search criteria, then i added a button called "search" which, when submitted, display the records where search criteria is included.
    Now, my problem is that i can't put a "reset" button, which, when submmitted, is supposed to clear the search text field, so the report display all records.
    I tried adding a branch that triggers when reset buttos is pressed, clearing cache of search text field. It didn't worked, search string keeps on showing on text field.
    Then i changed the process, instead of clearing cache, setting search text field item with a value of null. Didnt work either...

    Does anyone have a good example of thjis type of reset button???

    yes Earl, i know it's pretty standard...but i got some trouble... anyway, i think it was just a "lapsus brutus" o' mine... It's solved now and here's what i did:
    I created a text field button (where search string will be typed), a "submit as Go" button, and a "submit as reset" button. Then i created an uncondicional branch to same page, then i created a Clear Cache for Item process, where the text field cache is cleared, conditioned when "submit as reset" button is pressed.

    That solved the problem, thnx very much for your help

    I have created a custom bsp component with search result view. when i define search criteria and click on the search button i could retrieve the search result but the problem is when i modify the search criteria and click the search button the result doesnt get updated according to the new search criteria and the previous result appears instead. An information message is also thrown up giving the transaction SAAB error that a BSP_WD_EXCEPTION_DISPLAY check point group should be activated

    Notification number is the document number for which you are creating a notification,

    Ex. You need a spare part for a equipment, So you create a notification (u will get the notification number).

    While creating the sales order refering the notification, the status of the notification changes to SOAS.

    This status tells us the preseding operations done refering the Notification number

    Using the baove function you can get the values into variables and this variables you can use in binding.

    I'm running the 4.81.409 search client with Outlook/Exchange, and I've noticed that I get no hits if I put an email address or email domain in the "Search for the word(s)" field. And if I type an email address (user@example.com) or domain (example.com or *@example.com), I get no results. But if I know some other search criteria I can use, I can find the emails I'm looking for.Here's an example of a typical search:Search for the word(s): example.comIn: AllFrom: [blank]Sent to: [blank]Mailbox: [blank]Date: noneIf example.com appears within the body text of a message, or in an attachment, I'll get a return on that message.     That's a hard one for me to test, because if i look for @example.com , most likely all my emails from those persons have their email address in the signature or something.Try searching without the @, i.e, "example.com" I read the rules for keyword searching and I cannot see why including the @ would hamper your search. But then again when I tried "@ca.com" I got no hits. Removing the @, got me plenty of hits.

    After I grab their search criteria I want to execute their search (on a different copy of the table occurrence) so I can display the search results in a portal.

    Hi,

    What you want can possibly be done very simply. From your example, there are specific fields that users are "finding" in, and it doesn't look like there are going to be multiple criteria. (Multiple requests, omits, and so forth). If that is the case, you can "hijack" the find command with a custom menu, as others have described. (Post back if need more info.)

    When the user enters the find mode it will trigger your script, which puts them in Find mode and pauses. When they hit return/continue the find, your script can then set variables to the values they put in each field (before you leave the find mode). The key is that while you are in find mode, the data "value" of a field is the data entered in find mode, not the underlying record. You can capture it before you leave find mode.

    You now have the find criteria and can use them where ever you need.

    You can make this work also with multiple find requests, it's just a little more complicated. Omits are more difficult.

    Variations:

    -If working with multiple layouts, you can loop through all of the fields on any given layout (check the tab order), and then set variables that specify the name of any field with find data, and the data itself. This is more complicated as your subsequent scripts will have to extrapolate the field names of the fields to set, along with the linked data. I'd use matched variables (field name/value) with either variable repetitions, or return delimited variables to do this.

    -If you aren't working with multiple layouts, why put them in the find mode at all? When they hit find, take them to a layout with globals and have them enter while in browse mode. You've then got all of the info you need. Yes, it's another layout to maintain, but that's actually much easier to maintain over time than complicated scripting.

    There is no out of the box solution to add a search box in Muse. However, if you choose to host your site on Business Catalyst, then you can use the search box functionality given in BC.     It's of piece with just about everything else in the GUI for Leopard's Spotlight. The entire GUI is just about as wrong-headed as it can possibly be. When you invoke a search with Command-F from inside a folder it would seem natural to assume that the folder would be where the search is set to happen. BZZZT. No. If you do a search on Date Created it would be pretty clear you would want the results listed by Date Created. BZZZT. No. Indeed, they can't be listed by Created, Modified, nor Size at all, even though those are perfectly normal Finder window options. I could go on, but I'm starting to feel depressed....

    I need to create a jspx page with Query panel and Table. So i created a search criteria and created the page.
    Functionally all works fine.

    But from UI perspective i need to reorder the search criteria in a particular order.
    So i tried to reorder the fields from the back end, it doesn't helped me.

    I noticed that the default order of the search criteria is based on the order of the DB Columns.
    So i tried to reorder the attributes from the backend.
    Actually it made the search criteria also reordered in the required manner.

    But during runtime my base page is throwing Array Out of Bound Exception while rendering the data on UI.
    Kindly guide me , how to Customize/Reorder the search fields in a search criteria.

    For Ex: when you are ordering attribute2 from position 2 to position 1 in VO source, modify the VO query to fetch attribute2 as a first column instead of second column.

    1. I have designed a custom report which has same Advanced Search i.e. Sales order Search BT115S_SLSO,

    Search BOL object am using to design my adv search screen is BTQSlsOrd

    2. In Search method after std query am using my FM to get the result based on the order no given by the std search

    3. In Result view am able to show my custom result list from the FM.

    4.Now my issue is am not able figure out how we can assign the search help to our custom advanced search fields.

    I have redifined GET_DQUERY_DEFINITIONS to get the dropdowns value helps,

    and added all component usage in repository. link is also coming for the f4

    but no event is getting triggered.

    As you kow VA05N is a standard SAP reports you are not supposed to changed / edit any SAP Standard Settings.

    Now VA05N is already a new version (which has multiple selection creteria other features) of earlier report - VA05.

    Still if VA05N is not fulfilling your requirement, then you should go for ABAP development, i.e. Z-Report. What you can do is copy the VA05N program make necesaary changes in the new Z-report.

    Thus is always better of create a new Z-Repot, than to make changes to existing SAP standard reports.

    I had a problem of similar kind a few months ago. I solved the issue via the method explained below. The thing is there is not a radio button group but a dropdown list is available to select different search templates:

    First, you create the search templates by using the object types which contain the related attributes of the forms that you want to search for.Second, you create a search tab under your taskspace application and move the search templates that you would like to search your forms through from the "available search templates" to "selected search templates".Third, you select the role and move the search tab created at the previous step from "available tabs" to "assigned tabs". Then navigate to the global search tab and enable global search. Select the search tab created at the second step for search tab, search component and search tab will be populated automatically. Don't forget to save before leaving the edit role window.Finally, you have a search tab, that you first select the form search template from a drop down list and the attributes related to the search template appears just below.

Each search strategy type would have its own search criteria type and I do not think there is any common behaviour (or data) that can be defined in the criteria super type. As such, SearchCriteria is just a marker interface, and this bothers me. The search strategy sub-types would need to cast SearchCriteria to the specific type they need, so there is no type safety beyond ensuring the marker interface is implemented. For example:

    I know we can use Boolean AND and OR in criteria, and that NODATA will return issues where a particular field is empty, but I haven't found a way to get a NOT in there.

    I'd like to build a report with criteria like: WHERE field_one LIKE "%" AND NOT (field_two = "DESKTOP")

    Hello everyone,
    I've been trying to get this to work, but haven't had any success. What I am trying to do is create some sort of report, view or output of data showing which Accounts in CRM do not have any activites at all. In both advanced view and creating a new report
    I set the following criteria
    Accounts
    Status | Equals | Active
    Activities
    Activity Type | Does Not Contain Data
    I even tried
    Activity | Does Not Contain Data
    Also different variations of selections.
    When run a report with these enabled
    Activity | Does Not Contain Data
    I'm able to see some accounts, upon opening a few accounts some did not have activities but I noticed a few that had 1 activity which was an appointment. This is not what I want and am wondering why these accounts appeared in the report/search results.
    Has anyone successfullyran a report/query/advanced find so that Accounts without activities are displayed? Is this possible?

    Hi Patrick, Aaron is right: Advanced Find doesn't allow you to search for records based on the
    absence of a relationship with another record, neither does the Report Wizard. You need to know how to write the appropriate SQL query for this and use Visual Studio BIDS or Report Builder to write a custom report.
    But, since you want a list of accounts with no activities, you can build a marketing list as Aaron suggested. If you'd wanted a list of, say, opportunities with no activities you'd be out of luck and back at plan A.

    I'm sure this is a rather common question and I've dug around trying various things, but I have the following situation:

    I have two pages. A search criteria page and an interactive report results page.

    On the search criteria page, I have a multiselect list. I append/union an '-ALL-' value to the normal values, which should return all the values for this criteria, so the multi-select looks like so:

    -ALL-
    BLUE
    RED
    YELLOW

    So, I pass the multiselect values to the next page with the interactive report. What is the best way of handling the multi-select values in the source of the region report? I could have 1 to many values selected, or the -ALL- value, which should just do a dummy/1=1 clause.

    I've fiddled around with collections and using PL/SQL in a page process, and then selecting the region source from apex_collections, but I get tripped up by not being able to use bind variables in query I pass to the create_collection_from_query.

    I come from the world of passing search criteria to a package, doing a bunch of processing, and then returning a cursor out, so I may still be stuck in that mindset a little bit.

    OR ':' || :P1_COLOURS || ':' LIKE '%:' || MYCOLOUR || ':%'The first line will match every record provided ALL is included in the P1_COLOURS string. The second line will only match those records where MYCOLOUR is actually in the P1_COLOUR string.

    from the ITEM in the PROCESS code.

    Produces 1 report from inventory, 1 report from sale items , 1 report from purchasing.
    A simle MRP type of reporting system albeit 1 part at a time.

    If he creates a report of this list with the report builder (in the report console) is it possible to print out the search criteria (as shown in "Searches - Run Recent") in the header or footer? That would make his auditor happy ;-)

    From an automated perspective, that option does not exist to have the search criteria automatically printed as part of the report. In order to do this, you would need to modify the report and add the search criteria as part of the header or footer of the report. However, this would only work if you are using the old style ARReport type. If you are using the Web report type on the AR System Report Console, then this option would not be available.

    You can try something like this...
    A1 = text string = It was Sue
    List the keywords in a range of cells:

    J1 = Joe J2 = Sue J2 = Tom
    Then, this array formula**:
    =IF(COUNT(SEARCH(J1:J3,A1)),"Match","No Match")
    ** array formulas need to be entered using the key combination of CTRL,SHIFT,ENTER (not just ENTER). Hold down both the CTRL key and the SHIFT key then hit ENTER.
    Beware of false positives!
    With the keywords above:
    A1 = The issue was with Bill.
    The formula would return Match which is incorrect (a false positive). It found the keyword Sue in issue.
    We can try to account for this but it can get really complicated depending on the actual application.

    We have a requirement for a customer to show more than 4 criteria items when entering the Advanced Search mode of an LOV.

    By default only 4 criteria items are shown. We want to show more, 7 criteria items.

    We know it is possible to add the criteria items manually in the LOV, however, the requirement is that all 7 criteria are shown immediately upon entering Advanced Search mode.

    I have read in the Developers Guide that 4 criteria items is an OAF GUI standard. However, this is a very important requirement from my customer. They will not accept the product with only 4 criteria items, since it will be a very intensively used LOV. Speed of entry is very important.

    We had a similar requirement, but could not figure out the solution as per need, as its not suited to advanced region and controller code to achieve it seemed very complex as there was only one method to pin point which could help in adding new item (setDisplayedCriteriaCount), and it was also for oracle's internal use.(However we tried it and IT DID NOT WORKED.!! smiling.).(It does not allow more than 4 search items by default).
    However the option you can put is to select the top 4 fields which they want in the search by default (then you need to modify the seeded page, which we did or reorder in controller).
    Alternatively you may like to exploer options to programmatically generate the "ADD CRITERIA" event and handle it.(However this solution seemed very complex to us).
    Please share your findings if you find any workaround.

    Hi, I'm trying to use the built in People Search application in Portal 3.0.9.8.1. When I enter a name and click on the button to search I find that the search results are unreadable, i.e., no text appears in the rows that are returned. If my search criteria has 5 matching results then the results report display 5 rows with blank text!

    This problem can be repeated across multiple installs of 3.0.9.8.x on both NT, Win2k and Solaris.

    Why is this happening? What is the workaround?

    Hi Mark, I've tested this out on the demo people search app and got it to work ok. However, there seems to be some differences in how the point size is referenced in the PORTAL30 schema pkgs.

    The pkgs mentioned use both !12pt and +12 formats to display text. Simply changing the +0 to +12 didn't seem to work!

    Is it possible that you could email me a copy of the amended packages in case I have missed something.

    You cannot select expression values. When selection on experession is made it automatically selects the respective fields. When you said "I would like them to know what is filtered", did you meant what fields are selected?

    In that case a list box of the respective field would do the job.

    I've tried several variations of the formula below, but just don't seem to be having any luck getting the desired results. Any help is appreciated.
    Here's the task: I have cell D2 populated with text identifying office locations (i.e. AMER-USA-ABC; AMER-CAN-XYZ; AMER-MEX-789). I'm trying to return a value from column B, if either USA or CAN are found in cell D2, D3, etc.
    If the formula works as expected, I should return a value in column E that is based on either USA or CAN existing in cell D and returning a value of 'Baseball' (B1) or '0' if neither arguments are met. I'm having success with a simple search for just USA

    I'm pretty new to Oracle Portal.
    We have oracle report output files(.lst) that are created daily and stored on a shared network drive. This drive has all the historical reports as well. The sysdatedate is appended to the filename to distinguish them from one another.
    I want to create a search that will retrieve a list of files(with links) based on the search criteria of the report name. After I click on the report name link, the file should open.

    That is valid as long as you do not need to have security applied to the reports. If you make UltaSearch available, it ignores all security. If you have "Executive-level" reports with sensitive information, UltraSearch will allow ALL users to view them.

    You could deploy UltraSearch in a way that the portlet is only available to a certain group of users; but that is assuming that the only people that will use UltraSearch are those that need to access the Oracle reports.

    At least Basic Portal Search maintains the integrity of security.

    I have a requirement not to change the data based on selection search criteria except year and period.Basically if we select WorkSpacetype my QTD Should not be change.

    But it is showing correctly except only for a particular selection search criteria.

    In the attached file we have Work Space Type (Emergency Request ) my QTD is changing.

    Nicole's suggestion is probably the best option to avoid creating complex set analysis formulas, however... if you want to continue with that kind of records you have to add the disregarding selections fields inside of the MAX PERIOD and MAX YEAR in order to avoid that these fields selections affect this value calulations. So... it would be something like the next:

    Hi when I use search button for searching in Web UI I get all search criterias and suppose I save the search based on some search criteria it gets displayed on the Saved searches,now when I click on Go button it gives me desired result list but when I want to follow the same process again to search it gives me only that search criteria which I used in my saved search,I need to get back all search criteria when I save a search and see desired results after I click on Go button.

    DB:2.70:Search Form Using Primary Key In Combo Box For Lists With More Than 10 Choices. pm


    I have a search formwhere a range of criteria are selected from combo box drop down lists. The underlying query has Like [Forms]![frmSearch]![cboBroker] "*" to link it to the form (and variations for the other fields), but if I use the primary key as
    the identifier in the combo box, when you select any of the records with primary key 1-9 it also returns results for the records who's primary key includes these numbers e.g. searching on 1 also returns 31, 14 etc. I have amended the combo boxes to list against
    the text values rather than the primary key and the searches now work, but would like to know if it's possible to use the primary key for this instead. I am using Like and "*" so that if no criteria are selected in any of the drop downs all records are returned.

    One trick you can use is

    Not very efficient, but it should work.

    Timo is asking for a more complete explanation of what you are trying to do, and I agree.

    However, I'm going to make a guess:
    Is the PL/SQL report a Web PL/SQL procedure? One that uses the PL/SQL Web Toolkit to produce a report in a web page? If so, I have an ADF application that runs reports like this. To execute the report, I have my web server set up to run Web PL/SQL applications in a separate URL from the ADF application - you can do this with Oracle HTTP Server's mod_plsql module or deploy the Application Express Listener to your Oracle WebLogic Server. Test that you can run the report simply by entering the correct URL with parameters outside of ADF.

    Then on the ADF page from which you want to run the report you can put an af:goButton or af:goLink with the "destination" attribute set like this:
    http://myserver.mycompany.com/pls/myapp/myreport?myparameter=#{anyEL.expression.forParameter}Only problem with this is that you can't carry ADF authentication into the PL/SQL report. You might be able to use Single Sign On for this, but I haven't tried it.

    I am new to OAF and am working on customising a search page. This search page consists of three search criteria and the requirement is to default one search criteria always to a default value(Say: Test Project).
    For Ex: Search Criteria is based on
    1. Project Number
    2. Task Number
    3. Employee Numer

    Nothing of the above criteria are mandatory, so if user clicks GO without any criteria, search should execute for only one default project. And added to that, if the user gives some value for Project Number even then the search table should contain values pertaining to one default project.

    Hi Sathya,

    What I understand from your requirement is, you want search to get data only from the "Default Project" defined for the user irrespective of the data(or even no data) entered in "Project Number" criterion.

    If this understanding is correct, to achieve this, you can simply make the field "Project Number" as "Read Only" and assign an "Initial Value" to it using OAF personalization.
    Note that the initial value can be assigned using personalization at any level viz user/resp/etc.

    My company is using APEX 4.1 but I'm an APEX newbie (I have a Oracle Forms background). My user wants an APEX app that displays a couple of fields to enter search criteria and then display a single record report based on the search criteria. The query would return a bunch of columns so they would like to see them in a page format rather than on a single row. This would be read only data. Does anyone know if there are any examples of doing something like this?

    Hello,

    We upgraded from 4.0 to 7.0 SP2.

    Using the WebUI, I am able to search for existing Marketing Plans but cannot search on criteria for Campaigns or Mail Forms.

    If I enter no search criteria on Campaigns I am able to retrieve a bunch of existing Campaigns. I cannot search any Mail forms with or without criteria.

    Any help would be most appreciated.

    Inorder to help rest of the our coumminity with similar question, I am posting the response from that OSS message:

    Unfortunetly, it is not possible to have mailforms that are in 4.0 to be moved to 7.0. Apart from table difference, there might be additional fields present which makes us technically not possible to move the

    mailforms.To make the customers aware of these, they are documented.

    Okay, so I\'m using the ZEN 6.5 SP1b canned reports

    The online docs state:

    For example, if you want to know the list of machines whose

    Distinguished Name is CN=MACHINE1.OU=ENG.O=NOVELL, specify

    OU=ENG.O=NOVELL as the selection criterion. All the machines whose DN

    contains OU=ENG.O=NOVELL are displayed in the Inventory report but the

    machines whose DN contains ou=eng.o=novell are not displayed in the

    Inventory report.

    So, I dutifully type in:

    OU=CONTAINER.OU=CONTAINER.O=CONTAINER

    The search comes back with zilch.

    But if I run a search for:

    CN=USERNAME*

    I will get say, 5 workstations and the

    OU=CONTAINER.OU=CONTAINER.O=CONTAINER matches exactly what I typed in

    on the previous search.

    Does the search not work on containers anymore?

Select an appropriate comparison operator (=, In list, etc.) and the remaining settings as appropriate.

    I have built up aForm based on procedure in which I can enter some search criteria. Based on the search criteria a report(based on a view) gets generated. This report has some Oracle Portal links on some of the columns. Each link displays a form with relevant data. I can update some of the columns by changing the values displayed on the form. It is getting updated successfully. Now the problem comes. When I go back to the report by hitting the back button of the browser, I am asked to refresh that report. Is there anyway to refresh that report. Please keep in mind that the report is based on some search criteria wcich is being entered in the first form.
    Any help is much appreciated.

    Hi Marcin,

    I am not sure that I understand what you mean.

    If the window is refreshed from the database, Oracle (PL/SQL) will then not know whether this is the first or subsequent time that the page has been requested.

    I suppose that the window.location.reload() could become a window.location and then you could call the procedure and send through a parameter that would let PL/SQL know what was going on.

How to achieve this in terms of XML Publisher (The blank pdf should not get generated, but instead message should appear on the screen). Any thoughts?

Wat i need is if the validation fails report should be populated. but what i see is page is processed even if there are custom validation errors. any idea how can i achieve this ?? i know few workarounds but need to know is there any right way to do this.

    I marked "NE" operator For attributes : "is_prospective""' is_customer". I can see this operator in Account search screen u2013 but search works incorrectly. I get the same results for search "is - X" and "is not u2013 X" search criteria.
