But when I want to retreive the comments I only Get the Last one that I saved. In fact, I need to retreive all the comments.

How can this be possible ?

DB:2.97:Pwa 2010: Why Cant All Users See The Additional Workflow Data Link In The Workflow Status Web Part? dz

In my Project Server environment, I have set up a workflow based on the DM Dynamic Workflow template that came from one of the Microsoft Solution Starters.
Several of the stages of this workflow require approvals from various members of our department. Part of approving a project to move along within the workflow requires these users to leave comments inside of the workflow approval task, which is easy
enough to do: simply type any comments in the comments field, click Approve to approve the workflow task and you're done.

The problem is the project manager, who wants to see these comments that are left in the workflow tasks, can't see these tasks anywhere other than the ones assigned to them. I have admin privs in Project Server, so I can not only see everyone's workflow
tasks before and after they're completed from within the Workflow Approvals screen, but I also see a link at the bottom of the Workflow Status web part (which is one of the web parts in the Project Web Access category of web parts that comes out of the box
with Project Server) that is labelled Additional Workflow Data. Clicking on this link takes me to a page with details about the workflow, including any approval tasks for every user and the comments they leave on those tasks.

Now it doesn't matter to me how project managers see the comments left on approval tasks for their projects, but they need to see them somewhere. So my questions are:

How can I get this Additional Workflow Data link to show up for everyone at the bottom of the Workflow Status web part?
If that is not possible, is there another way to allow the project managers to view any comments left in the workflow approvals for their own projects?
    Colin

    Hello

I have a custom approval workflow (created with Visual Studio with Workflow Extensions and based on sample from SDK) that writes comments from the approver directly on the item that the approval is run on (into Append Only Comments field). However, these changes onto the item are written by System Account, the more elegant way would be to write them as the approver himself. Workflow history log is always showing the actual user performing the actions so nothing wrong with that.

    Can this be accomplished?
    - change the user running the workflow to the actual user who performed the approval OR
    - impersonate this user somehow when writing these comments

    3 begin

SQLif the client requires a ref cursor returned with the data, otherwise a suitable collection/record type could be returned and the data populated into that, though generally speaking collecting data into memory and passing that about procedures is not the most ideal as it takes up resources such as the PGA memory.

If, on the other hand, you availed yourself of any of the FREE backup methods (e.g., BB Protect, Desktop Software), then if it was backed up prior to your deleting it, then it's available in that source for restore.Good luck!

    DB:2.77:About Workflow Comments jz

My client wants to add the comments of a workflow to a custom report. The question is if you have the workflow Id and the workitem id in scope how do you get to the comments that were added in the webtop task manager interface.Either through DQL, DFC or API?This must be simpler than I'm making it but I don't see a way.

    DB:2.77:About Workflow Comments jz

Hi,In 5.3, workflow comments are maintained as dm_note objects in the docbase while the WF is running, but are purged as soon as the workflow instance expires. Consequently, they comments are not included in the reports you can access and save from Tools/Workflow Reporting (in Webtop/DA 5.3). To force comments to be saved with the audit trail, in BPM, in the Process Template properties, enable the 'Template audit trail' option.Robert van Raamsdonk

DB:2.77:How To Add Comments To The File I'Ll Save? s8

    Hi,

I would like to add a comment associated to a graph I've plotted before
saving it. In more details: my application plots graphs, then I would
like to compare this graph with other saved graphs. My aim would to be
able to see the repertory where the files are saved and to see the
comments linked with the saved files before opening
the one I want to compare with the displayed graph. In
fact, I will have a lot of tested systems and it won't be easy to
retreive the one I want just by viewing the filenames. Is it possible
    to do it?

Any advices are welcome, thanks anticipatively...

I have implemented the SAP_WAPI_READ_CONTAINER module function in Java Web Dynpro. This module function retreive information stored in a workflow container.

In my view, I have mapped the simple container context element to a table and I can see the data.

Now I would like to retreive the data individually and out of the table. The problem is that I have no idea how I can manage to do that. Can anyone give me a hand to solve that problem ?

DB:2.76:How To Return Field From Specific Workflow Task As Data Source In Lookup Tool? kk

Step 1 of my workflow, the first action is to create/assign a task with Task ID of TaskID1. For the next action, how do I assign a field the value of a specific field from TaskID1?

I have an item list. I created a content type and a form for that item list with several custom fields. Additionally, because I want more task outcomes than just Approved and Rejected I created a custom task content type. Its parent
is Workflow Task (SharePoint 2013). I made sure to associate it with the workflow I'm currently trying to configure.

In that workflow I assign that custom task to an approver. One of the custom task fields I made in the content type is Task Comments.

So when the approver opens the task, he/she should be able to put in comments. Okay. So I want to take those comments, pull them out and pass them to the current item. So my assumption is to use Action Set Field in Current Item, then for the value
use the Lookup and choose the task I just created in Step 1 of the workflow as Data source and Field from source as Task Comments. But it's not there as a Data source.

If the extra bottom section of the Lookup is designed to help me find the specific task I've just assigned, I don't understand how. Designer allows me to set a Task ID to it, but I don't see anywhere to pick that ID in Value in the Lookup tool.

    How do I do this:

    ?

It seems like Microsoft could have made it more immediately apparent and easier to reference task I just created one line above in this very Step of the workflow . . .

    select act.object_namefrom dmi_workitem wi, dmi_package p, dm_activity act where wi.r_workflow_id = p.r_workflow_id and wi.r_act_seqno = p.r_act_seqno and wi.r_act_def_id = act.r_object_id and p.r_object_id in (select r_object_id from dmi_package p2 where p.r_object_id = p2.r_object_id and any r_note_id = 'your note id')

This is the query I used to find the activity name where the user put a comment.

    Hello,

Can anyone plese let me know how can I get it ?
    Thanks,Dipti Chhatrapati

DB:2.75:How To Get Task Comments In Custom Visual Studio Workflow ? dz

You will need to set the AfterProperties property of your
    OnTaskChanged Activity.
    1) To do that Select your OnTaskChanged Activity.
    2) In your property window you will see AfterProperties Property. (I believe the first property after the Name if properties sorted alphabetically)
    3) Select AfterProperties property and you will see Bind button (button with
    ... on it).
    4) Click the button and this will open the Bind dialogue.
    5) Select Bind to a new member tab.
    6) By default you will see a name in New Member Name textbox. You can keep the same name or you can replace it with more meaningful name e.g.
    TASKABCafterTaskProperties or whatever.
    7) Select Create Field and Click OK.
    8) Now go to your code and you will see that a field has been added to the code which will read something like the following.
    public Microsoft.SharePoint.Workflow.SPWorkflowTaskProperties TASKABCafterTaskProperties = new Microsoft.SharePoint.Workflow.SPWorkflowTaskProperties();

    9) Now in your OnTaskChanged event simply add the following line.

    String Comments = TASKABCafterTaskProperties.ExtendedProperties[comments].ToString();

(Replace comments with your field name)
    10) Before writing the code above make sure comments (or in your case your field name) is not null.

This is a repeating attribute, pointing to each and every relevant dm_note object by their object_id. You may want to give it a go by modifying this values to reflect to your more updated comments.

Can you please share some thoughts.

    regards

DB:2.71:Dfc To Access Activity Comments 98

    Hi,

r_note_id is a repeating attribute in dmi_package, and you have to use this id in conjunction with the r_note_flag

    attribute.

    From object reference:

    r_note_flag integer R
Specifies when a note was added to the package and how to handle the
    note in activity transitions.
    Valid values are:
0, Note added prior to activity; discard at next transition
1, Note added prior to activity; retain in next transition
2, Note added during this activity; send to next activity and then discard during transition from that activity
3, Note added during this activity; retain in subsequent transitions

I'd expect that wfComputeStepUserList does exactly what you are looking for.

Anyway, if you have tested it, you may take a look at the list of available workflow idocscript functions: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/doc.1111/e10726/c03_master_type.htm#CHDHIBJA

    Hi haliopi,

    Thanks for your post.
Here is the summary issue as I understand.
Scenario: you have created a custom workflow using VS 2010, and deployed it to SharePoint. But when you tried to write the log to the Workflow history
    list, it didnt work.
    Am I right?

First, I recommend you to read this article, which is about Collaborative workflow.
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/ee335710.aspx

Second, Are you using the SharePoint workflow activity? And have you configured the Workflow history list when you created the workflow problem?
If the answer is yes, you dont need to write log to list using OM (SharePoint Object Model). Instead, you can use the LogtoHistoryListActivity
    to write log.

Of course, you also can write the log using the OM, but the location should be other list, instead of the workflow history list.

    IWorkflowContext workflowContext = contextService.Context;

    req.LogicalName = account;
    RetrieveEntityResponse resp = (RetrieveEntityResponse)metadataService.Execute(req);

I recommend that you can add some condition as below under the “Current Item: Check In Comment not equals Current Item: Comment1” condition in my workflow.
And, you can set a workflow variable to get the values of the current “Comment1” and “Check In Comment” column in my workflow.

Then, set the “Comment1” column’s value to this variable and go to “Start Options” to check “Start workflow automatically when an item is created” and “Start workflow automatically when an item is changed”.
Now, publish the workflow and test whether it works in your environment.
The workflow is shown as below:

The result is shown as below:

DB:2.64:How To Read Hcm Processes And Forms Comments In Workflow az

    Hi All,

I have a requirement to capture the comments entered in HCM Processes ad Forms by approver and send comments to other user over email by workflow.

Can someone let me know the approach to read the comments in workflow?

I could see that task TS17900110 is used to read the values of form into workflow but this will not read the comments.

    Appreciate your response.

    Thanks,

    Somu

    DB:2.64:How To Create A Multilevel Workflow? 38

I'm new to SharePoint and workflows. I'm trying to build a multilevel workflow for new documents that get added to a document library. Here are my requirements:

Document has a column for how what level of workflow is needed (1, 2 or 3) Send an email to creator once submitted Update workflow status from Not Started to In Progress Assign a task to 1st level to approve/reject Document is approved or rejected If approved, send email to creator, update workflow status, check to see if more levels are required if not workflow ends and document is checked in. If more levels are required send task to next approver.
If rejected, send email to creator with comments (is it possible for a user to make the corrections and continue the workflow where he left off?)
Next approver approves or rejects If approves, send email to creator, update workflow status, check to see if more levels are required if not workflow ends and document is checked in. If more levels are required send task to next approver.
If rejected, send email to creator with comments(is it possible for a user to make the corrections and continue the workflow where he left off?)
Next approver approves or rejects If approves, send email to creator, update workflow status, workflow ends and document is checked in.
If rejected, send email to creator with comments(is it possible for a user to make the corrections and continue the workflow where he left off?)

I've spent several hours on this and have scoured the web for tutorials on this. Assistance would be appreciated! I'm getting stuck on several points:

I created a task list for the task lists to get submitted to but do i need to link it to the document in the workflow?
If i want to update the status, how do I link the task list with my new document?
Am i able to have someone continue a workflow after a rejection from where it was rejected or do they need to start again?
When the document is approved do i need to add any actions to complete the workflow?
When the document is rejected do i need to do anything to pause the workflow?
If its rejected and the user has to start over to i need to stop the workflow?

I have sharepoint designer 2007 and sharepoint 2007
    Thanks!

    DB:2.64:Making Workflow Comment Mandatory 83

Can anybody please tell me how to make the workflow comments mandatory for all users ?

    DB:2.64:Making Workflow Comment Mandatory 83

Hi Guna and Raj,I remember working on something very similar early last year. setting requiresVisit='true' does not solve the entire problem. Because the user may visit the Comments page but may never enter a comment. If I am not wrong then Guna, you are trying to make comments mandatory, in other words, you would like every performer to enter comments before they forward the task to the next activity in the workflow. I had to extend the TaskManager and implemented some additional logic in canCommitChanges( ).Basically, the logic used to verify if the comment list/chain contains any comments by the logged-in user. If yes, it would allow the logged in user to forward/finish the task otherwise it would keep the Finish/Forward/Reject buttons disabled.
