So it seems that the new Yoga 2s are shipping with software that checks for driver updates. I thought this program was exclusive to the Thinkpad. So now I am asking Lenovo, where can I download this Ideapad update software?I was gonna take the installer from the Yoga 2 but, to no surprise, it was not on the HDD. Everything else was there but that.I know that updating drivers, on an Ideapad, is a bad Idea. However, I would still like the software for person reasons.

I just bought a ThinkPad Yoga and it seems like Lenovo, in their infinite wisdom, took out "press-to-select" (the ability to push in on the TrackPoint to do a left-click).Hereis what Control Panel -- Mouse shows me. Why is there no longer an "UltraNav" tab with a settings button that lets me enable press-to-select?This should be standard functionality. It was on my old T420, it's on the X1 Carbon, and so it should be on my ThinkPad Yoga. This is a high-end machine. I bought it specifically FOR the TrackPoint, and they shouldn't be gimping the TrackPoint like this.

mithunr, you can clearly see from my screenshot that I DO have the drivers installed. I just got a demo Twist (3347-6LU) to test out and after installing the software for the LenovoUSB 3.0 dock, when I touch the screen to scroll through a webpage or move a window, it gets really jumpy/jittery if I hold my finger still. No new updates available through System Update so I'm not sure where to go with this. I've tried two different driver installs for the dock that I found through some digging on the Lenovo support site.

DB:2.62:Twist Touch Screen Is Jumpy 3x

Well, an update - I've done a lot of updates, and the machine does a lot of updates independently, too, so now the touchscreen works most of the time. It's definitely not as good as the Samsung 700T - that one is smooth and easy, just like the tablet I have, it always works just like you'd expect. The Twist, on the other hand, seems pickey - I feel like I am "learning" how to interact with it (which is just crazy to have to do!) - like to give it 20 seconds after turning on before using the touchscreen, and I think it has issues with Firefox/Waterfox (sometimes it works, other times not). The dimming thing hasn't happened today, come to think of it. Maybe one of those automatic updates...I haven't had any of the jumpy Charms menu business that someone else mentioned. So overall I'm getting more satisfied with it, I guess I'm going to keep it, and upgrade the ssd to 240 gb unit that arrived today.

There is even worse stuff, probably related to the display when using two monitors, the second one connected to the docking station:I had several issues when the I just left the S240 connected to the dock on the second monitor only option. The ThinkPad went's to the energy saver mode then. When I later I close the lid, it's expected to go to sleep, according to the energy profile. But what probably happens then is that everything, the fan included, goes to sleep, the red light on the lid keeps slowly blinking. But the CPU keeps probably running!!! The Thinkpad gets very hot and it's hard to restart it. Usually it comes back to life when I press the power button a few seconds. Today even this didn't help anymore and I had to do an "emergency" reset to get the Thinkpad back to life. Notable: I had activated the dual view option the first time. This is a very disconcerting behavoir.

Been troubleshooting this for a day with no result so hopefully someone here might have a suggestion that doesn't involve reinstalling Windows.I have an Asix88179-based USB 3.0 ethernet adapter that just refuses to work on my Yoga yet works fine on my T440p (also with Win8.1 x64), so I know the adapter itself is OK.I tried installing the Asix driver package to no avail, although I did have some fleeting success getting the adapter to work once when I uninstalled the Asix package and restarted the machine. When I unplugged the adapter and plugged it back in, however... nothing. Most of the time Windows doesn't even acknowledge that anything is plugged into the USB port. Occasionally I get a USB error because Windows sees the adapter in the port but cannot find the driver. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the MS and Intel USB controllers to no avail. Meanwhile, the USB ports work just fine with everything else I plug in to them. I'm totally at a loss why the Yoga does not see the ethernet adapter or will not load the driver. All the Yoga drivers and software (and bios) are up to date as of today and there are no Windows updates to install. Is there some Lenovo or intel software I need to get this to work? Something seems to be missing here, but I've no idea what.

DB:2.58:Thinkpad Yoga Not Seeing Usb Ethernet Adapter xd

As an update... I uninstalled all signs of the Asix drivers, l uninstalled the Windows and Intel USB controllers (and let Windows reinstall them on restart) and the thernet adapter worked... ONCE. When I removed it and plugged it back in... NOTHING. Windows did not even see it. I then happened to plug in a USB 3.0 flash drive and that was not seen by Windows any more either (it worked fine before). ASll USB 2.0 devices work, however. So somehow the ethernet adapter is killing the Windows USB 3.0 contollers so they no longer recognize any USB 3.0 devices. Anyone know how to fix this?

Hello all, apologies if this is a duplicate issue, but my searches did not turn anything up.I just received my new TPY a couple of days ago and have been happily installing software. Today was the first time I really tried using my digitizer pen, as I finally had time to open Photoshop and Illustrator. In doing so, however, I discovered pen calibration is completely messed up for the top edge of the screen. I tested it outside of the Adobe programs and the same problems occur there. I have already gone in and tried recalibrating my pen more than once using the calibration tools in the Control Panel. Is this a known issue that I just need a driver update for or is this a hardware issue?Any help is appreciated. Thanks,Erika

Hello,Just wondering of anyone on the forum or someone from Lenovo can help. I am not technologically savy and mostly just a user of Microsoft software. My wireless connection on my new Thinkpad Yoga is slow and cannot stream media such as I Player or I Player radio without stopping. Myfour years oldsony vaio laptop has no problem doing these things.I've read on the forum that deleting the Lenovo EMC Storage Connector helps. I have done this but the connection is still poor.I then phoned Lenovo technical support, they asked me to re-download the wireless driver and hot key driver and then try the wireless connection on a different network to see if it is still slow and if it is contact them again. I will do this soon to test it.Does anyone have any otherideas what could be the problem. I really like the Thinkpad Yoga and it would be ashame to take it back if this can't be fixed.Interestingly the technical support person did not know or acknowledge the problem with the Lenovo EMC Storage Connector.Hope someone can help. Many thanks.

DB:2.53:Wifi Issues With Thinkpad Yoga 93

Hello, someone from Lenovo just asked me by email'Did it solve the problem?'.After testing the Yoga on the other networks I phoned EE for some technical support (worst customer experience I have ever had!). After the end of the call they said my router needed to be replaced. I received it today so will test the Yoga again.Interestingly I also phoned Lenovo again in response to an email from them about whether my query could be closed. They said the problems I was having may be because I didn't check whether the frequency of my broadband router could be used by the Lenovo Yoga Thinkpad.I was quite suprised by this given that for Laptops at this price I would expect them to work with common routers such as a BrightBox and also is it realistic to expect non technical consumers to be taking these considerations into account?Maybe I would be better investing in my own better home router?Any views on this gratefully received. Many thanks

Hi,i unwrapped the new S540 (of my gf) yesterday and spent the evening setting it up: Installing 75 windows updates (after fixing it), updating to 8.2 and installing important software (like ExpressCache which wasn't active despite the m.2 ssd)I saw that the Catalyst Control Center did not work and installed a new amd driver from the lenovo website. Looks like a lot of people made that mistake, too. Screen went black, reboot did not help, system recovery reported an arror and i had to restore the original OS.After a night of sleep i am currently repeating the process and installing 8.1 at the moment. And i am a bit worried that some support-sites mention "ThinkPad S440 S540 doesn't support Windows 8.1" , e.g. on http://support.lenovo.com/de_DE/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS031946What should I do now? Is the discrete graphics working without amd Catalyst Center? Or should i install a beta driver from amd.com?One thing is for sure, first thing will be a full system backup. If you go to the support home page, (click the support box at the top of the forum), and then select Warranty and Services you will find a link to click on named International Warranty Service. Once selected you can enter the type number of the system, e.g. 20c0, to see a list which countries the system is eligible for IWS (International Warranty Service). A link to the page can also be found in the forum FAQs.

Hi everyoneThe new ThinkPad Yoga 12 seems to have the same dimensions as the original ThinkPad Yoga. Does anyone know if it's possible to install the new TrackPad with the buttons from the TPY 12 in the old model? Or will there be hardware/driver problems?I'm sure many have the same question for their machines, for example the T440, how about those? Thanks!

DB:2.47:Switch Thinkpad Yoga Clickpad With New Trackpad jd

The technician just completed the replacement of my keyboard and clickpad. It took him around an hour. After looking at the whole process, I would say that I would not be confident of doing it myself without damaging any of the cables and connections etc. Some of the connectors are really small and does not even have proper grooves to hold or help pull out. And if you forget to disconnect anyof the connectors, you are liable to break or bend some of the really small cables and who knows? Its like a major transplant with like 40 screws? to remove etc. You have to shift parts from the old thinkpad to the new ones. Some are just connecting cables that are double sided taped. Many of the cables are routed via cable holders so extreme care has to be taken to move them properly before you take out the components one by one.The good thing is that the keyboard bezel (not actual keyboard) and clickpad is one piece. That is the only piece that has to be replaced if the new yoga model uses the same dimensions and connectors. Since its the whole bezel with the physical clickpad, I would assume it is not going to be cheap to purchase. Hopefully the clickpad drivers are similar or just replacing it with the new ones will work. Until someone tries though.....

    All,

There are a number of threads on twist screen rotation and screen lock button functionality.

The button functionality has been changed / updated and I would recommend anyone who is experiencing abnormal symptoms to ensure they have updated to the latest:

    1) Bios 1.55 or later
    2) Touchpad / ultranav driver 16.2.19.7 or later
    3) Power management driver 1.66.0.22 or later

The BIOS and power manager drivers will affect the screen rotation / lock and unlock and the ultranav driver will address any unwanted pointer movement while in tablet mode..

I've owned the laptop for several months now and initially I thought the problem was simply that I was not accustomed to the keyboard, but as time has gone by I've come to realize that the problem is either a driver, software, or the OS. This happens typically with very short keystrokes, such as when typing the same letter twice. I have verified this by pressing any one key very firmly, but very quickly. tried most of the solutions here but doesn't work because are either for different model or different OS.can anyone help? really frustrated and thinking of returning and going w/ another brand/model.there's no energy management icon.cannot find maximize battery life vs optimize battery life option.already installed settings dependency package version 2.0.0.11.also installed lenovo power management driver 1.67.04.04as a last resort (if decide to just return and not deal w/ hassle), how do i restore thinkpad yoga to factory settings?really like device but too many problems (cannot even connect to wifi) but that's another problem...

DB:2.46:Thinkpad Yoga: Plugged In Not Charging. Windows 8.1 xx

If your Yoga is less than 14 days old in Australia, you can call it DOA and get it replaced or have your money back (your choice - not Lenovo's) under consumer law. My first one died within a few days - but had the same issue as you do (and a dozen more different ones before it died after a few days). The help desk tried valiantly to resuscitate it via remote logins, but my Yoga was terminally ill.I had the devil's own job of getting Lenovo (IBM Malaysia help desk) to issue a DOA number. You have to get assertive to get one - they just DON'T like providing it and leave you feeling stranded like a wet shag on rock wondering what to do next. They want to help at some level - but from my observations they are trained totry you out to see if you will send it back for repairs instead of getting a new one. They promised to ring back twice and never did about a DOA number - and that is when I firmly and politely refused to go away until I got the number. Their main trick was to tell you their shift supervisor had gone home for the day and so they could not get a DOA number. Logic said that zero supervision was highly unlikely and there would be a fall back somewhere - assuming their supervisor had actually left. I was correct and got results.Just to add insult to injury, I purchased a ThinkPad Onelink a few weeks after my new Yoga arrived - and it was effectively DOA and had to be replaced. Fortunately some quick questions from the help desk had that replaced without hassle a week later. This is the first ThinkPad and accessory that I have ever used or purchased - so it was not really very satisfying to say the least. Lenovo's product checking and help desk appears to need a serious overhaul and rethink. That said, now I have my Yoga andOneLinkoperational, I quite like it for a bunch of reasons - but I am seriously considering putting their expensive extended warranty on the Yoga, as based on my initial experience with it, I have this nagging doubt about its longevity. And as you pointed out - it is not a cheap notebook.

So like I do from time to time, I'm configuring a Thinkpad Yoga to mull over (window shopping until I can afford one) when I notice that there's no mention of a digitizer or pen functionality any more, anywhere.Did something happen to it? Pen support was a deal breaker for me.

DB:2.45:Thinkpad Yoga - Digitizer Not Available Anymore?? ma

I noticed this missing info too when ordering my custom ThinkPad Yoga, so at checkout I added pen from the optional accessories. When my laptop arrived, it came with two pens! One inside the laptop package, and another in separate box. I suppose it might be their website issue or country-specific supply issue.

Although Dolby V4 seems to do well in producuing clear sound, I cannot find a configuration that supports deep bass in music. I have bose earphones that sound terrific at any bass frequency when plugged into my old dell, iphone, etc but no dice for the Twist. Is this a hardware issue? Realtek driver? software? is the surround config too complex for my headphones?

For what is worth, I had a similar issue with my ThinkPad S430 using headphones: distorted bass, metallic sound...After some trial and error, finally I left it with the default Windows 8 drivers (no Dolby, and specially no Realtek). And listen music or movies using PowerDVD Dolby Headphone setting. PowerDVD is really awful, I know. But it has the nicest sound I found so far.I tried to use the Cyberlink ax audio filter without PowerDVD with no luck so far.Other option is to use the Plantronics USB Dolby. But I don't like to be carrying around so many things. And PowerDVD (or any hardware independent Dolby filter) supports also Bluetooth connection or HDMI.Good luck... And please post if you find something interesting.

I have been using Chaos Intellect by Chaos Software for over a year now. Since notes is a feature that I use a lot this is a real problem. No matter how long I wait it stays frozen. The only thing I can do is go to the Task Manager, which shows not responding - and end the task. I can then restart Intellect and it runs fine until I hit any of the notes tabs - ad-infinitum.I talked to Customer support at Chaos Software. They were very responsive. They had me delete the configuration file, try a new empty database and run Malwarebytes. No malware was found and none of this changed the results.I posted on the Microsoft Forum and one of their Software engineers had me try a few thingsperform clean bootuninstall and re-install Chaos SoftwareThe conversation s here - http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows8_1-performance/chaos-intellect-freezes-ever...The program is available as a free trial here - http://www.chaossoftware.com/programs/intellect4/intellectsetup.exeI'd love to hear if others can replicate this. Hi all,I'm new here. I've just got a ThinkPad Yoga (which is also my first ThinkPad laptop). The laptop comes standard with a 500GB mechanical HDD. I have tested all the functions and hardware, and everything works fine. Then Ihave replaced the 500GB HDD with a 256GB SSD, and made a clean install of Windows 8.1 with all the drivers and softwares from lenovo website. Here come two problems:1. Some hotkeys do not work, e.g. wi-fi switch (samephysical key F8). After quick research I have learned that I need to install the driver "Hotkey Features Integration". However, I cannot find this driver in ThinkPad Yoga pageof Lenovo Website. Maybe Lenovo hasn't uploaded the driver yet.2. When the screen goes off automatically, I cannot bring the screen back again. I tried to press every keys, click touchpad and click external mouse. The only way I can bring the screen back is to close the lid and let the laptop to sleep, and wake it up again. Both problems did not exist with the 500GB HDD and Lenovo preinstalled OS. So I think these problems are caused by driver/utility missing. But Lenovo hasn't uploaded all the drivers to the website yet.

Hello.I have purchased a Lenovo ThinkPad couple of weeks ago and am struggling to get TouchPad working properly since then. What I want to achieve is a flawless TouchPad experience, which includes:Right button click with two fingers only, right click zone disabled;Natural vertical scrolling;Natural “back” and “forward” three-finger swipe (i. e. left to right – backward). On the first boot-up my laptop updated UltraNav drivers to the latest version from Lenovo support site. It’s version 17.0.12.60 from January 14 2014. This driver is not stable at all and has various issues and drawbacks:Metro apps are crashing when scrolling (Twitter, Facebook etc); You need to click and activate the scrolling zone, hovering the cursor over it is not enough. As a result in start menu tiles are selected successively while scrolling (white border around), and you can’t check several tiles if you need to scroll; It’s impossible to disable the right-click zone; When scrolling in classic-UI apps the cursor sometimes changes to an arrow with a scrollbar. This inconsistency is annoying.Driver tuning window is all crippled, labels are not formatted properly, and some of them are not visible; It is impossible to change to natural backward and forward swipe.I then downgraded to Lenovo’s driver 17.0.9 as of October 25 2013. It performs better but still has all issues of 17.0.12.60 apart from Metro apps crashing.I decided to download and install the original driver from Synaptics web site. It functions much better than Lenovo’s ones, but introduces new problems.TouchPad is not disabled when I flip the screen to tablet mode;It is still not possible to natural backward and forward swipe. Is anyone experiencing the same problems? Is there a way to fix the Lenovo driver or to make the original one turn the TouchPad off in tablet/tent mode?Where mayI file a bug report to Lenovo?

    DB:2.42:Thinkpad Yoga Touchpad Issues fc

Hello. I updated to the 7.0.12 driver because my touchpad would get unresponsive after each start. My main problem is the sporadic behaviour of the two finger scrolling. I tried different PDF Readers and all work horrible with the new touchpad driver. Each application reacts differently to the scrolling. Some scroll very fast while others scroll very slow and some applications have very fast acceleration while others don't. The momentum is also all over the place and it keeps scrolling in a stuttering wrong way. I tried everything in the settings but no configuration solved the problem. The old driver 7.0.9 did not have this issues but the touchpad would get unresponsive sometimes. I would really like to fix this problem. Thanks

    DB:2.41:About Yoga 10 B8000 Adt Driver cs

Go into SettingsStorage and change the USB mode to CDROM, then connect the Yoga to your PC with the cable. It should mount your Yoga as a CDROM device and stored on it should be the driver package. Its the only one I've used and I can ADB just fine.

DB:2.41:Thinkpad Yoga S1 - Touchpad Active In Tablet Mode kp

I've had my yoga for 3 days now and have noticed that the Touchpad does not disable when in tablet mode. There must be some remedy to this as it makes tablet mode fairly useless since holding the tablet moves the mouse when you inevitably touch the Touchpad. This appears to happen with the 11s model as well (http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Idea-Windows-based-Tablets-and/Yoga-11s-Touchpad-in-Tablet-Mode/m-p/1168... and the driver mentioned as a fix does not resolve my issue.

The moderator comment is misplaced - this is the only message I've left on this forum. You've moderated my comment or deleted a duplicate but have not provided any response to my actual problem. As I type this, I'm actually becoming pretty frustrated by the fact you'd take time to school me in the ways of forum ettiquette and not provide any actual customer service. At more than $1,200, this Thinkpad Yoga's inconsistent auto-screen rotation, ever-changing touch screen calibration settings, incredibly hot case temperature while installing Photoshop and The Banner Saga, and of course, the Touchpad remaining active in tablet mode is resulting in my returning this computer. I love the weight and the keyboard, but these pros don't outweigh the cons (especially when added to Windows 8.1's inability to properly scale menus for an FHD 12.5 screen). I'll try again on Lenovo's next edition of this line.

I am having a message that says "Genuine Lenovo Battery Not Attached" message that appears after Windows 8.1 starts up. A similar sort of message appears before even Windows boots up, and I need to press the 'Esc' key in order for Windows to boot. This seems to have happened after a recent Windows update. I have uninstalled an reinstalled the Lenovo Power Management Driver but it does not appear to have fixed the issue. My BIOS is the latest version. This issue is on myLenovo ThinkPad Yoga S1.Any assistance is appreciated.

    DB:2.41:Thinkpad Twist S230u 4 In 1 Card Reader Uhs-1 Support kd

    Hello,

I took Patriot Memory EP Series 64GB Class 10 SDXC UHS-I card, quick-formatted in my S230u using the ExFAT file system with the default cluster allocation, and made thirteen copies of the aforementioned Windows 8 ISO file to it, for a total of 46,564,098,048 bytes (44.4 GB).

No problems noted copying the files. Each file was written without any errors being reported using the copy command from within an elevated Command Prompt.

After copying I then deleted each file one-at-a-time using the del command from the same Command Prompt. No problems noted.

Perhaps the issue you experienced is unique to the combination of ThinkPad S230u and SDXC card that you tested with, or the SDXC card may have begun to fail and the write operations you performed excercised the fault.

When flash RAM fails it goes into read-only mode, so perhaps that is what happened to the card.

    Regards,

    Aryeh Goretsky

hi All,I have a Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga with a Intel Dual Band-AC 7260 adapter installed. When I bought the product my understanding was that it would support 802.11a/b/g/n/ac however when I look at the adapter settings I see only up to 802.11a/b/g (see attached)I phoned Thinkpad tech support who advised my to factory reset (not helpful) but rather than this does anyone know of a fix/driver update? To factory reset is not convenient at all is it is my work device and setup as I need it.I am frustrated as it looks like I have bought a product from Lenovo but it doesnt meet the specification which is a trades description matter.regardsStve

    DB:2.41:Wireless N On Ac-7260 79

Thanks for the reply which is well explained. I'm still not sure however if I have the solution as it was set to VHT but I still cannot connect to either a n or ac network. Also even though it was set to VHT the Wirless mode setting still said a/b/g only and not a/b/g/n/ac as I would have expected.

DB:2.41:Thinkpad Yoga Touchpad Right Click Does Not Work ps

Hey guys, today I've got my new Thinkpad Yoga and it's really nice but I don't know if it's the driver or the touchpad it self. I can't push the right mouse button. Whether I use the double tab nor the right corner (at the top or bottom), nothing happens. left click works fine, but only if I activate the on tab option. Already tried to uninstall the driver and reinstallt the new version from the website nothing changed. And sometimes the touchpad and the trackpoint don't work at all. I'm using Windows 8.1 x64.Thanks for your help!lg

I'm using Windows 8.1 x64 with a Thinkpad YogaI have TVSU (ThinkVantage Software Update) version 5.03.0010 which it updated itself to from a previous version. However, on the support page for the Thinkpad Yoga:http://support.lenovo.com/au/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-yoga-series-laptops/thinkpad-...The latest version of TVSU is shown to be 5.06.0020The current version of TVSU I am using is not updating my Intel graphics driver to the latest shown on the the website above (The latest version on the site is 10.18.10.3855 10/17/2014 whereas TVSU only updated mine to 10.18.10.3383 an older version which isn't available on the website).I prefer to do everything through automated updates and I have run into errors manually updating. Any ideas why this is happening and what I can do to fix it?

With each release of SU, a registry key called the HELLO level is set.For SU 5.06.0020, the hello level is set to 12. The HELLO level is used to create a LENOVO server URL.https://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/agent/SSClientCommon/HelloLevel_9_12_00.xmlThis url currently does not exist. During each run of SU, it checks to see if the URL exists and contains data.WhenLenovo wants your running SU to self update, it will add data to the URL on the Lenovo server. This data contains the information to interact with the Lenovo server to download and install a newer version. For a 64-bit OS, the registry key is:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Lenovo\SystemUpdateHelloClientLevel data field=HelloLevel/9.12.00SU 5.06.0016 (june 2014) and SU 5.06.007 (april 2014)have a hello level of 10.SU 5.05.0008 (feb 2014) has a hello level of 09. (i think i got these levels correct)I just checked level 12.10. and 09 URLS. At this time, they do not exist. Thus your older version is not self updating.Level 09 has been populated with data since early july 2014, but not today.

Thank you bananaman! One Key Optimizer did the job!My D partition has no software on it.Since I bought this computer it is sometimes given me some BSOD (MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION). That is why I restored to default, and installed Microsoft Updates and Lenovo drivers (from the Lenovo WP), but this device (ACPI2004) was marked as unknown..I am still having the BSODs but, not that often (once or twice a day). It is tottaly random, but, it feels like has something to do with the touchpad...
