I have an InfoPath 2007 document that is submitted and creates a SharePoint workflow. This works fine in InfoPath 2010 and SharePoint 2007. When upgrading to InfoPath 2013, the document submits without issue, but cannot be opened as part of an approval

The error received is: InfoPath cannot open a new form. One or more required custom controls in this form cannot be created. I've seen similar errors to this using web search, but none that were triggered by InfoPath 2013.

DB:3.96:How To Fix This Data Connection Bug In Infopath 2013? zj

    Hi All,
How to fix this data connection bug in InfoPath 2013?
A query to retrieve form data cannot be completed because this action would violate cross-domain restrictions.

If this form template is published to a SharePoint document library, cross-domain access for user form templates must be enabled under InfoPath Forms Services in SharePoint Central Administration, and the data connection settings must be stored in a UDC file
in a data connection library in the same site collection.

If this is an administrator-approved form template, the security level of the form must be set to full trust, or the data connection settings must be stored in a UDC file by using the Manage data connection files option under InfoPath Forms Services in SharePoint
    Central Administration.
An entry has been added to the Windows event log of the server.

How do you create the data connection?
Please check ULS log if there are some more related details for troubleshooting.
And also please take a look at the following similar posts with approaches (i.e. disable Anonymous authentication from IIS), see if they could help.

We develop an InfoPath form using InfoPath 2013 on Windows 7 64-bit, Office 2013 64-bit. The most common user environment is Windows 7 64-bit, Office 2010 32-bit, and the form runs just fine there.

Some of our users are upgrading to Windows 8.1 and cannot run the form. They are using Office 2013 32-bit as that is our corporate standard. The form opens correctly using Office 64-bit.

We cannot even open the form in InfoPath Designer when running Office 2013 32-bit, getting the message:
Not enough storage is available to process this command
If we make a small form, it can be opened, but our full production form fails.
Is there a resource we are short on? Has our form gotten too big to be run on Office 32-bit? We have spent a good deal of time trying to find an answer, but have had no luck.
    Paul

DB:3.58:Infopath Form Cannot Be Opened On Windows 8.1, Office 2013 32-Bit pp

I believe I have found a solution to this problem. So far, it seems to work.
By default, 32-bit applicationsare not large address aware and cannot address space greater than 2 GB. INFOPATH.EXE is no exception.
To see ifan application is aware, do a DUMPBIN /HEADERS
command on the image. If the output contains the line Application can handle large (2GB) addresses then it's aware.
If not, do an EDITBIN /LARGEADDRESSAWARE command on the image.
We have done this with INFOPATH.EXE and now it both opens with InfoPath Filler and designs with InfoPath Designer, on a 32-bit Office system running Windows 8.1.

Firstly , make sure you are using IE for your SharePoint 2010.
Go to Site Settings-Site collection features under Site Collection Administration, scroll to “Open Documents in Client Application by default”, make sure it is activated.
Go to IE Internet options-Programs-Manage add-ons, make sure that all related SharePoint add-ons are enable, especially SharePoint OpenDocuments Class.

It seems to be an issue with your data connection for submitting to the form library.
If my understanding is correct, you just wanted the URL to the library in your submitting connection, not the view. So you can try to use
    http://192.168.1.122:2001/Publish Infopath and
skip the /Forms/AllItems.aspx stuff for your submitting connection.
    I hope this helps.
    ThanksWendy Li

I have an InfoPath form (.xsn) administrator approved web form template that was in InfoPath 2010, but I have upgraded to InfoPath 2013. I am not longer able to upgrade this form in SharePoint 2010 since installing Office 2013 on this server.
(This is my development server, and so I have both the server and the client installed).
Within InfoPath 2013, I have set the Compatibility of this form to Web Browser Form (InfoPath 2010) and also set the Target Version in the Programmingoption to InfoPath 2010.

This is an Administrative Approved template as it has code-behind and such.
When I try to upgrade the form on a SharePoint 2010 server (via a PowerShell script), I get the following error:
Install-SPInfoPathFormTemplate : Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.Office.InfoPath, Version=14.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

DB:3.49:Using Infopath 2013 For Sharepoint 2010 Web Form - Why Cant I Deploy? kf

I have resolved this issue. The post indicated at
http://smindreau.wordpress.com/2012/12/04/office-preview-2013-breaks-your-sharepoint-2010-enterprise-notably-infopath/did work, but there was a missing detail. When I tried this fix initially, I couldn't find the folder C:\Windows\Assembly\GAC_MSIL
that was indicated in the post. I found that I had to use the Start/Run menu and enter C:\Windows\Assembly\GAC_MSIL to see this folder.
To summarize, the workaround for this is:
    1. Navigate to C:\Windows\Assembly\GAC_MSIL (by entering this path in theStart/Run option, it doesn't find the path when run from Explorer)
    2. Delete the following three folders in C:\Windows\Assembly\GAC_MSIL:
    Policy.14.0.Microsoft.Office.InfoPath
    Policy.14.0.Microsoft.Office.InfoPath.Client.Internal.Host
    Policy.14.0.Microsoft.Office.InfoPath.FormControl
3.Run an IISRESET from a command prompt.
Presto, the template can now be published!

thanks a lot for your suggestion. we have successfully migrated the form to InfoPath 2013 and Visual Studio 2012. But while deploying using InfoPath 2003 we used to give an Installer(Setup) project for our clients. Is the option still available in InfoPath
2013, as we are not seeing option of building an installer template for the form in InfoPath 2013, but some other options are available like deploying to SharePoint etc. Is that feature removed from InfoPath 2013. Thanks in advance.

DB:3.48:When Opening My Custom Form I Get The Error Message - This Form Cannot Be Opened Because It Requires The Domain Permission Level And It Currently Have Restricted Permissions.. 7x

    Hello,

So far none of the above worked for us.
We publish InfoPath forms on a Sharepoint library that used to be accessible over HTTP. The forms were submitted by email to managers in our organisation.
At a certain point in time, the powers that be decided we had to switch to HTTPS instead. This now appears to be the culprit in our case.
If I open a new form using one of the templates that is published from HTTPS and where all the databindings within use HTTPS as well, there are no issues at all. But if I open one of the attachements of an old email (dated 'pre-HTTPS') I get the annoying
    errormessage.
If I save that attachement to a location on my PC and edit the XML with say Notepad, I can actually change the URL pointing to the .XSN file and make it HTTPS instead of HTTP. After saving the XML file and double clicking it, it opens without hesitation.
What I could do is collect all the old XML files and change the href location that is inside, a proper text editor could probably do that in no time at all. Not very appealing, but if it solves our problem ...
Hope this is in any way helpfull.

    Regards,
    Jaap

    Hello Peter,
every existing form will open with updated form because infopath publish template gets updated after publishing to library. You need to publish your form again and keep same connection to open existing forms.
Another way is, you can publish your form as content type and add that content type to your library. You can have multiple templates of same form as content type.

    Hi,
I understand that you can’t quick publish InfoPath form when customizing external list.
I try to reproduce the issue following the steps:

Create an external content type;Create an external list;Customize external list: Edit list-Design Forms in InfoPath-Page Design-Select Ground-Save.
Then I quick publish the form ,but the template form was published successfully.
I suggest you to uncheck Verify on Server when the Designer Checker is invoked.

We can also check whether the size of the form is so large that SharePoint server did not have the memory resources to process it.
In addition, we can check whether the form is so complex that SharePoint server did not have time to complete the verification before the InfoPath client timed out.

DB:3.39:Unable To Publish Infopath 2013 Form To Sharepoint Online 2010 (Fe) 2013 (Backend) kp

    Hi,
I recently noticed that SharePoint had updated our backend to 2013 (v15).Our frontend is still 2010. I had issues with workflows before I knew this.I found out that I had to upgrade SPDfrom 2010 to 2013 to fix the workflow issues I was
    having.
I then found that I was getting issues trying to publish my InfoPath 2010 form that I was halfway through working on before they upgraded the backend to 2013. I was getting an error dialog (in InfoPath 2010) when it was trying to save the template to SharePoint
    Online Forms Library:
InfoPath cannot save the following form:
    File Name
Server encountered an internal error. For more information, turn off customErrors in the server's .config file.
I couldn't figure this out so Ispent a whole day hooking the workflows uptoa new form library and published form (in InfoPath 2013) .This worked fine for the whole day. I had left PC on overnight and came in this morning and
tried to publish my form again. I get exactly the same error message again.Along with this message I get an alert Notification:
    INFOPATH.EXE - Delayed Write Failed
Windows was unable to save all the data for the file \oursite@SSL\DavWWWRoot\HumanResources\HolidayRequests\Forms\templates.xsn. The data has been lost. This error may be caused by a failure of your computer or network connection. Please....
    Could someone help out here?
    Thanks.

Resolved - not sure if it was because cache keeps getting screwed up or if Microsoft sorted out a hard drive. I removed space again and it hasn't reverted back. Could this be sync issue or cache issue. No idea. Workflows seem alright and just as a side
note -decidedthe event handler on the Form Library which was using ItemUpdating should be using an ItemUpdated.I have a bat file that clears down the cache for Office 365 and this definitely seems to help it
getting confused between 2010 and 2013 which sometimes pops up.

-make sure you use IE with sharepoint (check SharePoint browser compatibility) as other browsers would have some feature not functioning as supposed to.
-Add the SharePoint site to trusted sites (Internet options Security tab Trusted sites)
-re-publish your form, and make sure the Enable this form to be filled out by using a browser is checked.

    Hi,
If the requirement is just to send emails using prefilled information and not to display it to user for editing, you can consider using CDOSYS.

Following VBSCRIPT should help you to understand how to send email:
    ===========================================================================
    'Send email using the port

'Ensure that you can connect to the SMTP server

    Dim iMsg
    Dim iConf
    Dim Flds

    Dim strSubject
    Const cdoSendUsingPort = 2
    strServerName = SMTPServerName/IP
    ' Change SMTP server name
    strFrom = Sender@domain.com
    ' Change Sender email address
    strTo = Recipient@domain.com
    ' Change Recipient email address

' Build HTML for message body.
    strHTML = HTML
    strHTML = strHTML HEAD
    strHTML = strHTML BODY
strHTML = strHTML b This is the test HTML message body/b/br
    strHTML = strHTML pa http://microsoft.com /a/p
    strHTML = strHTML /BODY
    strHTML = strHTML /HTML
strSubject = Test email sent using CDOSYS
    set iMsg = CreateObject(CDO.Message)
    set iConf = CreateObject(CDO.Configuration)
    Set Flds = iConf.Fields
    With Flds

    .Item(http://schemas.microsoft.com/cdo/configuration/sendusing) = cdoSendUsingPort

From the error message, the issue might be related to accessing to InfoPath form when open form. Then we need to trace the origin of the location of the form.

If you are using InfoPath with Outlook only, then please verify that problematic users have access to the location.

DB:3.35:How To Open An Infopath 2010 Form In Infopath 2007 83

The marked answer is obviously irrevelant.
To open an Infopath 2013 form in Infopath Designer 2010, you can do this:
-rename the XSN file to a .cab (you might have to change your folder options through Control Panel so you can see and change file extensions)
-right-click on the CAB file and extract the contents to a new folder
-in the folder, open manifest.xml with a text editor. Find the first line of real XML, like this:
    xsf:xDocumentClass trustSetting=automatic solutionFormatVersion=15.0.0.0 solutionVersion=1.0.0.47 productVersion=15.0.0 ...
-Change solutionFormatVersion to 3.0.0.0 and productVersion to 14.0.0 and save

-You might also have to open template.xml and change productVersion there. That file also has versionProgid=InfoPath.Document.4 attribute in it that should be 3 not 4 for IP 2010, although I didn't change it and it seems to work.
-Open IP Designer, open file, browse to your edited manifest.xsf. The form will open as normal.
-Save the file over the old XSN and continue working.
I haven't tested this for compatibility or problems down the line, but it will get you started!

DB:3.32:Infopath Shows An Error When Using Visual Studio For C# ps

    Good day,

I've got a quite simple Document Information Panel form, created in InfoPath 2013 and to be used in Word. I need to perform a calculation on one of the fields, written in C# using Visual
Studio. That shouldn't be any problem since InfoPath has a Developer tab with Visual Studio integration. The thing is, it just doesn't work. Even when I just click on On After Change event button and Visual Studio generates an empty function for
me, it already produces an error when using the form. Because I didn't add any code yet, it's 100% sure the error is not as result of my custom code.

It's even weirder. When I create a new empty form, just add a button, and add a skeleton code (an empty function), it won't work. It just gives a generic error message (see below). Perhaps
I'm missing a simple step, like compiling or something like that. Right now I just save and publish the InfoPath form, and boom, the error appears when opening the form.

    All,
This is a client side issue. It appears to be caused
by a mix of Office 2010 2013 components. I was able to fix it for all of our clients by changing the library settings to open in browser and that resolved the issue.
Note, we had fixed an earlier similar SharePoint

    Hi,
    Thanks to share your post.
For the issue, did you created InfoPath form somewhere else and without publishing it moved it to different location, and double clicked it? If yes then you
    should follow the steps:
    1.
Open windows explorer and select InfoPath form
    2.
    Right click and select Design.
    3.
Run Design Checker to make sure your form is error free.
    4.
    Save and Publish it.
Other causes may be due to the corruption of schema.
    Hope this could help you!

I have a SharePoint 2007 list that is just a list of several different Infopath forms. The Infopath forms are based on custom content types and when a user fills out the Infopath form the information is emailed to a recipient. The data entered in the form

    Hi,
One approach you can follow is

Save the 2007 InfoPath template to your local diskOpen the 2007 InfoPath in InfoPath 2013 in design mode and save the template. The template will be saved in 2007 format.Publish the Infopath template to the new list or document library.

    Dear All,

Already have Microsoft Office 2010 professional installed. I created a simple Infopath form. I published it to my Server which is using the IP 192.168.1.122.

    Hi,
According to your description, you got an error when you submitted an Infopath form.

    Hi Sudhir,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to access InfoPath form from SharePoint form library via Internet.
Per my knowledge, you need to first ensure that you enable Anonymous Access for your web application. You'll then need to set up DNS for the domain you own to point to your web front end server (or virtual IP if it's load balanced). Then set up the appropraite
IIS bindings for the web application, and finally you'll need to extend your web application to an Internet Zone and give it the appropriate domain name.

I cannot use the Max(ID) function because if the item is rejected then no number should be assigned. Does anyone know a way I can accomplish auto incremental numbering in infopath 2013 and sharepoint 2013?
    Thanks,
    Shamika

DB:3.25:Infopath Data Connections To Office Live Business Application Lists 9m

Hi. I am trying to use an InfoPath form from an Office Live Business Application Form Library. The form when launched reads from a list in the Office Live Business Application via InfoPath data connection feature. The form is also set up as a Site Content Type in the Business Application. I am having trouble with InfoPath getting authenticated when creating a new instance of a form when trys to read the list. If InfoPath has already authenticated to the Office Live site (i.e. via updating the data connections and re-publishing and not closing InfoPath), then the form opens fine and reads from the Business Application list fine. However, if I open InfoPath cold (i.e from link in the form library), InfoPath does not seem to authenticate and I receive the following error from within InfoPath:

InfoPath cannot create a new, blank form.InfoPath cannot open the form. To fix this problem, contact your system administrator.Form template: form library URLThe query cannot be run for the following DataObject: list name
InfoPath cannot run the specified query. The SOAP message cannot be parsed.

Does anyone have an idea on how to resolve with Office Live? Thanks.

P.S. - I don't have this issue when teh same form is implemented on within a regular WSS or MOSS installation since InfoPath automatically prompts for a user name and password when opening the form in InfoPath.

Hi!  This really isn't a reply to your problem, though I hope I want end up with the same one after I start the process to post an Infopath form on ly Office live Small Business web site.  Actually, I was hoping either you could help me or direct me to sources that can help me learn how to post my form on the web.  Here is where I am in the process:I've created the form (a pretty basic one) in InfoPath 2007 and I'm on a Vista Home premium compter.  I wanted to simply send it to a small group via e-mail and get their responses sent back to me, but since I'm sure that most of htem don't have their Outlook configured and none of them have InfoPath, then I can't take the nice-n-easy path.So of course I thought I'd try to figure out how to post it to my Office Live Small Business web site, but I can't get the Business Apps to install (I get an error message telling me to wait until later to try again).  After this, I figured taht perhaps I don't need them if all I have to do is post HTML code on the site that enables me to post the form and receive the results emailed to me.  (Of course, I don't have the skills at present to do this, but I've seem some sites that post such code and figure with a little work I could figure it all out.)  In the process though I stubbled onto your post and thought maybe you could help or direct me to some good, basic sites that couls help me.Thanks in advance!

Can InfoPath Designer 2010 be used to publish filler forms to a SharePoint 2013 form library?

    Hi,
I have SharePoint 2013 sites and i want to customized form using Infopath Designer 2010. I am trying to set Data connection with SP sites but i am getting error The operation could not be completed.

Do i need to have infopath Designer 2013 in order to create forms and to set data connection or in Infopath designer 2010 also we can do this.

    Please help.
    Thanks !!

DB:3.25:Data Connection Infopath Designer 2010 To Sharepoint 2013 Site 8a

InfoPath 2013 is downward compatible, i.e. you can edit InfoPath 2010 forms and you can create forms for SharePoint 2010.
But as software versions go, compatibility does not extend upwards. Previous versions do not know or understand the new features of the newer versions. If they did, there would be no need for a newer version.

So, InfoPath 2010 can NOT know about new ways or behaviours of SharePoint 2013. Therefore, you cannot expect InfoPath 2010 to be able to work seamlessly with SharePoint 2013.
If you are working with a SharePoint 2013 site you will need to use InfoPath 2013. It is part of the Office 2013 Professional Plus. You can download a trial and see if the 2013 version resolves your problem. Then you can decide whether you want to purchase
    it or not.cheers, teylyn

    Thanks Eric,

Example: The form will be Submitted to a Admin via a e-mail step. Then upon a field change to 'Person/GroupPicker' the task is assigned to that choice. Then Project status continues from there.

It used to be a 2007 infopath browser form which was migrated to a InfoPath 2010 Filler form.

    Hope some one can help.....
A developer has created a InfoPath form (designer 2013), the form has some custom code behind the scenes, it also has 2 drop down option boxes that connect to a list on a SharePoint 2013 site. When the form is deployed via visual studio it is deployed to
a form library on the same team site where the list resides. There are other drop down option boxes linking to another list on another team site via a UDCX data string connection.
When deployed and the form loaded up via a browser the 2 drop down boxes error out, the error message being...
The following query failed: Activity (User: USERNAME, Form Name: SCA FORM NAME, IP: , Connection Target: , Request:DataAdapterException, Exception Message: The form cannot run the specified query. The list could not be found.)
The drop down boxes using UDCX work fine, if I create anew InfoPath form with only the same 2 drop down boxes and publish directly without going via visual studio, the form loads up fine with no error messages, so I'm not thinking it's permissions
being the culprit and the list is definitely there.
It appears that deploying the form via Visual studio causes the issues. But it needs to be deployed this way due to custom code on the form.
