    We are using Case/Activity creation using Incoming E-Mail functionality.

    I have come across a scenario, where our HR administrator uses Digital Image Signature in their mail communication, when they send mail for Case creation, if we are using digital images in the signatures , it provides the random values in the place of image while creating the case.

    I feel Notes section of Activity uses Plan Text rather than images but need your clarification on this.

    can any one faced this sort of issue?. Is there any solution for this?

    DB:3.04:Hcm Pf - Virus Scan Error kc






    When attempting to create an HCM PF in our test environment, we are getting an error in SLG1 - Virus scan profile /SCET/GUI_UPLOAD not active. This message is being generated as the process object is being written to case management as an XML file. We have checked VSCAN_PROFILE_VC via SM34 and indeed that scan is not active. However, the VSCAN_PROFILE_VC view is configured the exact same way in our DEV system and we don't get this error in DEV.

    Does anybody have any insight?

    I have been meaning to come back and raise this one from the dead so others who face this can find an answer. I had to trace it down myself and it is quite odd.

    The error message about the "virus scan" is bogus. It is just the last error message that comes back from a badly handled exception. To cut to the chase, the problem is that you are missing a MODEL in case management. If you go into SCASE, you should see THREE models...one for you process, scenario and scenario step. Most often, it will be that POBJ_MODEL (process object) is missing in your client! There is a nice WIKI on here of how to correct that....just search for it (like "SAP POBJ_MODEL missing")...I do not have time at the moment to find it (plane to catch!).

    In our case, we didn't have POBJ_MODEL even in client 000 in ANY of our servers. We had to have someone send us the model XML file (discussed in that WIKI) to then load into our system. If you do that, you must make sure you "DOC ID" matches up in the CASE POBJ_MODEL tech details, in the "View" and in the registry (all discussed in the WIKI). We had to take the document ID from the tech details of POBJ_MODEL once we uploaded the file and then make the change to the registry parameter and in the view entry directly to make it all synch up. Worked fine from there.

    We have a new project underway, that will point HCM URI to a IIS site on Portal, and in turn re-direct back to HCM. However with this configuration when you click on the HCM link on the Portal page, HCM opens up with Portal boarder (the URL in the address bar would have Portal and the HCM site.

    However a note that if you click F5 on that page, it reloads and displays HCM without the Portal boarders (HCM URL on the address bar). This is the desired 'look and feel'. To note, there are some instances where HCM will open fine without the portal boarder, so not 100% consistent.

    Any suggestions would be great.

    Hello All,

    I am working on a New Hire scenario using HCM PF. This form has Time Management Infotypes like 2012 and 2013. The form dumps (even before it loads) when it encounters an assert statment on PERNR (and in this case it is initial) in the method IF_HRASR00_BLP_ADAPTER~READ of class CL_HRASR00_BLP_ADAPTER. I am not sure if PT infotypes are supported during new hire actions. By the way without these PT infotypes the New Hire form is working and updating all required PA infotypes. Also, for non-hire forms these PT Infotypes are getting updated with no issue and I am using ADOBE forms itself. Please let me know if I am missing anything. We are on EHP4. Thanks.

    Guys, Sorry for asking again...I was not able to find where SAP has documented that in HCM PF PT infotypes are not supported during new hire actions. My customer has this important requirement (I have a not so intelligent backup plan),and could not beleive that SAP did not support this feature since in the backend transaction Time works very well with PA during new hire. It would help to explain with the official document from SAP. If there is a URL or an OSS Note please let me know. Thanks in advance.

    Unless you already have the installation files for HCM9.1 FP1, you can only download HCM9.1 FP2 from Oracle Software Delivery Cloud (edelivery).
    I would advise to upgrade to the highest available FP, this will save a lot of effort in patching the application.

    PeopleTools 8.52 is certified with HCM PF2.
    PeopleTools 8.52 is certified with Oracle Database 10.2.0.5.0 on Oracle Solaris on SPARC (64-bit) 10

    I understand the difference between the cumulative and delta (although it is a bit weird they are both listed) MP's.

    Now comes the question however; I want to apply the Multilingual versions of the Maintenance packs as well, since the database will be running on a different language then English. According to Oracle it is not recommended to apply a ML Maintenance pack once the non-ML is already applied. The ML version of the Maintenance packs is however not included, so I have to install these. I also found a article on the support website which said that I should only apply the language which is other then English in that case. Does anyone have any idea how to exclude the English from the ML Maintenance pack? As far as I can see all the scripts and steps in the Maintenance pack don't easily let you exclude something like this. I'm a bit baffled about the statement from Oracle support on that matter, since they don't mention anything on how to do such a thing at all.

    Any insights will be appreciated.

    Problem has been solved. Apparently I missed a step in the Install Addendum which mentions to run a script to update the maintenance log. The script is called hc9maintlog_i.dms and it updates the maintenance log with the multilingual MP's.

    1. Is it possible to alter the HCM feed? Specifically, we'd want to bring in some custom attributes.

    2. Is there a way to do any kind of event based provisioning as soon as a new HCM record is created? This does not necessarily need to use the HCM/IDM framework (flat file/db table export?). We have a use case where certain types of users need to be submitted to IDM workflow immediately and cannot wait for the Extract report to run.

    We currently making changes to OM and certain aspects of Talent Management (very small changes) and desire is that to help employees easily understand the new career framework structure, there should nice digital view, which employees can navigate to.

    Obvious answer was, this functionality do exist in SFSF or Workday but none of these are finalized yet and in interim a solution is required, which may be used upto 12 months.

    Can you please suggest such tool which can be easily used as a standalone system. It may not integrate to SAP and can be used as a standalone.

However, is it possible to create Process object, update the Form data in the Process object and read that data into workflow container without the use of any Service? Is the backend service required for the Workflow task to read the Process object (Form data is saved in the Process object) data into Workflow container?

    Can Process object (Case Management) be created without the use of Generic Service? Has anyone created complete Generic Service that provides functinalities like Form validaions, input help, updating backend, etc.?

    Hi I am creating HCM Processes and Forms using FPM Forms. Now to print these forms Alternate Adobe forms also developed. But once the entire process is completed by HR Admin and in future if they want to see the already processed form and if they want to take print out they should be able to do it. So, based on some knowledge I am assuming we can achieve this by Digital Personnel file creation. Can any one please confirm. Whether they can open already processed form and how to get print these forms as this is FPM form and no print option is available.In order to configure DPF, can any one share step by step procedure to configure DPF.     Currently we are implementing HCM PF. I can able to submit the form in check and send option and process number getting generated. But data not getting saved on the backend. I believe there is a problem in case management set up. After I executed the form I checked "SLG1" analysis. I can see error message " CASE ID doest not exist" and General case error. I referred some of the posts here and found some table name T5ASRPROCESSES and t5asrscenarios table entries are blank. Do we need configure to get the entries on the table. Can I get the pre set up to be followed before implementing HCM PF.

    One really important detail that still might be missed and isn't anywhere in the documentation is that the configuration for the process model DOES NOT TRANSPORT properly. In each system a different GUID key is generated for the process model and the case customization must be done in each environment.

    When you go into transactions SCASE_CUSTOMIZING and SRMREGEDIT in productive environments (your QAT system or your production system), you will get many errors that won't allow you to make these settings there so you might assume that it should have been transported from your configuration client. This is not the case. Have you system administrator change the settings so you can do this configuration once in each environment.

    For the real end-users (applicant / candidates), the effort is less;

    for existing candidates on career portal the change would be how they access their profiles / view the status of their application. You may need to highlight the "changes" from existing to new process.for new applicants, since they have to register their profile - the standard documentation could suffice.
    For the staffing organization, however, which includes Recruiters, Administrators, Managers etc, the impact is larger. The procedure they were following earlier - with existing recruitment system, would change. This would require role-based training highlighting
    the new procedure - ERECRUIT standard documentation may help here.the changes along-with how the change would be beneficial to the staff (first) and then the organization.
    By introducing some competitions with incentives could help in quick adoption.

    Hope the above helps. The above process helped me on an engagement of deploying SAP E-Recruiting System where I worked on OCM role.

    Your requirement and explanation is not so clear for me but as I understood you would have different policies for different EEs.

    If this is the case you should categories EEs in your enterprise structure in personnel administration(PA) or employee group(EG). If it does not fit you maybe you can use a field of IT0050 for example "Employee grouping for the time evaluation rule".

    Otherwise you can create a Z field and keep your own category but I recommend to use SAP standard fields as much as possible.

Our ECC ABAP system is where our users authenticate too now. We would like to have the ability to let users change the password in this system through ID Man's password reset system.     you can for sure use the capabilities of SAP NetWeaver Identity Management for resetting passwords in your systems. You basically have to do an initial load from your systems and then use the Reset Password workflow. You can also write a tiny script which distributes the passwords to the connected systems.

    Be aware that distributed passwords have to be changed on the first logon if you do not use SNC (for ABAP) and SSL (for Java systems).

    I was trying to configuration HCM system as leading two different satellite systems as of now we haven't planned with ADS

    As per configuration document , I have performed below steps.

    1) In HCM system , Copied query later created LDAP connector , LDAP server and attribute mapping
    2) In IC , Imported staging area and modified write HCM job created repository for HCM system.
    3) VDS configured.

    Initially to test my setting I was passing single personal number through RPLDAP_EXTRACT_IDM however from HCM side is sucessful but when go see the job logs ..... i am getting below error.

    I am new to HCM configuration in the backend system. I am familiar with HR Benefits Administration piece and also a bit knowledge on Learning Solution (Training and Event management). I am trying to expand my winds/wings on the other modules also like Travel Management, Payroll, Time Management. I heard these modules are little complex than Benefits Management.

    Personnel level budgeting would be indeed overreaching. Anyway, you have special SAP application for that, which allows planning on that level. As for FM, the budgeting is always on FM objects: so, if you assign HCM objects to certain fund centre, then also the budget would be checked on the level of this fund centre (with commitment item, of course, but they will technically be derived from expense accounts).

    Have a question on the various Architecture being currently used in various Applications in HCM today and wanted to understand the rational behind selecting one ahead of the other.

    I was trying to understand the HCM Process Forms Architecture, what I understand of the PF framework is that its based on SAP Case/ Record Management Architecture. Now I was trying to compare this Architecture with the Appraisal Template Architecture (HRHAP table).

    What I would like to understand from you all is that

    Why would SAP select SAP Case/ Record Management Architecture.for PF compared to Appraisal Template Architecture in Performance Management ?

    - what is the advantage/ disadvantage between the two frameworks ? Is one better than the other ? In what way ?

    The reason these question's came to my mind is because from the surface of it both frameworks seems to be providing similar kind of functionality, for example .. both provide ways to configure placeholders to store data, both provide flexibility to store attachments and both have option of logging different actions performed on them, Also both of them provide flexibility to setup status of the respective documents.

    So why would SAP start using the Case/Record Management framework as compared to Performance Appraisal framework ?

    Understand that Case Management saves data in XML format .. is my understanding correct ? Does this have any impact on choice of Framework ?

    HCM PF uses case management as the persistency layer until the data entered on the form is to be saved to the corresponding infotype(refer here http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp60_sp/helpdata/en/42/f0643e7e203ee4e10000000a1553f6/content.htm).

    Further it has its own architecture and is based on on the decoupled infotype framework.

    I do not have much info on performance appraisal architecture.

    Neither did I. I don't have any complete resources. Maybe actually there are exists somewhere, but just I don't find it yet.

    As Ravi said, im too marking the same...

    You can take strongly for HCM module which will be better option campare to Basis. because in basis some time later you too feel difficult in working shifts... Possibly if you take Fico, obviously you should have the good background knowledge of Accounts side. But if you work hard in preparation, then FICO also better choice.... Finally Its all in your choice only.....

    We are facing the issue with the HR Forms.

    When user submits its all details and clicks on button all necessary checks regarding data consistency are done. Then on clicking on Send button two processes occur 1) The process number is generated 2) the workflow gets triggered. The workflow determines the next processing agent of the form and sends the form to processing agent

    In our case when we have not given user SAP_ALL profile the workflow does not get triggered and no CASE_GUID number is generated in back end .When ever any HCM process and form is triggered its information is stored, its all Case Management (Tcode SCASE) .With every process reference number a CASE_GUID is generated but its not happening in our case.

    When we provide SAP_ALL all works fine.

    Please guide how can we resolve this issue.

    I have this problem: in Customer's Scenario there are in the same application server any SAP Modules as FI and HCM, there are FI consultant/developer and HCM consultant and developer. The FI Consulant should not see data of HCM and vice versa.

    I have set the Authorization Object S_TABU_DIS for table HCM setting the authorization group PA for HCM table as PA0001, PA0008 etc. The problem occurs if i write a program with a SELECT * FROM PA0008, in this case the authorization check doensn't work.

    Any suggestions?

    I agree with Julius and Martin. you'd be better off using i.e. HR_READ_INFOTYPE instead of a SELECT statement.

    by using this FM an authorization check will take place on HR master data authorization (infotypes) whereas with a SELECT it will not.

    the S_TABU_DIS object is not used to authorize data access specifically. it is usually used to prevent access to groups of tables through SE16(N) for example.

    in your case, the FI consultant should not be authorized for the P_ORGIN object (access to HR master data) nor should it have access to the PA group in S_TABU_DIS if you're really serious about not accessing HR data.

    using SELECT in a report that the FI consultant can execute will render these authorization restrictions useless.

    Hi all,

    If tomorrow HCM is installed in the same system that another SAP module, and if current users of the other SAP module have access to SE16, is it possible to restrict all HCM data to these users. My client thinks that people who access SE16 could always find a way to access HCM data such as basic pay, appraisals, ... I know a little about S_TABU_DIS object but I'm not sure it will works for all data.

    I know that the better way is to install HCM on another server or another logical instance but if it's not the case, is there a really secured way to restrict the access to the HR data ?

    For my client, we retricted access to all Personnel tables as follows:

    Authorization object : S_TABU_DIS

    Table authorization group :

    (From) NC (To) OS

    (From) PASA (To) XXXX

    This is how excluded the ranges where personnel administration tables reside.

    NC is the first table name when alphabetically sorted and XXXX is the last.

    We also made some restriction on S_DEVELOP authorization object in the same manner.

    Hi Experts,

    I am creating a HCM process and form and using Ehp2. I need the step object id in the backend service. I created a field in the service with datatype ASR_GUID and the field name is STEP_OBJECT_GUID. I selected this field in the form scenario under the specified service.

    But the value is not coming up. I have three scenario steps and in all these three steps, the field is empty when i check in case management. Have I to add this field in the SPECIAL FIELDS of the service.

    I tried to add the process reference number in the service also similarly but the name is PROCESS_GUID with datatype ASR_REFERENCE_NUMBER. It is also coming empty. I selected the default value in the form field for these fields to point the generic service.

    Kindly help.

    Your almost there. You can actually use a class passing in proc. ref. number that will then give you a "hook" into that instance. Then you can call the class to fetch attachments. From there, you cross reference the attachments it returns to the attachments table and pull additional details.

    I have downloaded the Peoplesoft HCM templates from edelivery of oracle (DB template, Apps/Tools template) . All the steps documented in the Oracle technical paper starts from the deployment of these peoplesoft templates and it talks little about the installation of Oracle VM server / Manager. The steps of PSHCM template deployment are clear. But i dont how to start with VM Server / VM Manager in my case.

    I have downloaded the iso files from edelivery for Oracle VM (manager, server 3.3 pack) . I have explored the oracle doc (http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11081_01/doc/doc.21/e10899/ovsig.htm) for the same ..but not able to understand the process...

    a) is it mandatory to have Oracle VM Server...I think it is trying to install another linux ....in my case, i have already working linux environment, why again do i need to install another linux environment on top? Cant i directly install Oracle VM manager on top of my existing Redhat Linux and deploy PSHCM templates after that?

    If no (i.e Oracle VM Server needs to be installed before VM Manager), With a iso image downloaded from oracle, how to install Oracle VM server on my existing Redhat linux ? (pls give steps). How many partitions do i need to make etc?

    b) Cant i use any softwares like Virtual box or VM ware to open the PS-HCM images ?

    c) Once VM Server is installed, (ie. it creates a new linux Os evniroment) ....then VM Manager needs to be installed on that new linux os enviroment or my existing Redhat linux environment?

    d) Once VM manager is installed, we need to deploy the PS HCM templates. I think it will create a virtual machine... how much hard disk space / RAM we need to give for the virtual disk for db template and apps template?

    Please help me by giving some steps with configuration ....thanks a lot...

    I continually struggle with color when printing scanned images or images off of a camera card into PhotoShop and/or InDesign, and with the warning messages (upon opening) for tagged or untagged photos,

    Are the dialog box choices regarding printing choices for newer versions of PS and ID more user-friendly regarding color management choices, hence I would be better off upgrading strictly for that purpose?

    Step 1 instructions from a post in this forum suggest calibration first.
    i have calibrated my monitor. I have a name for the calibrated color settings and can call them up in Color Settings before I open the photo in Color.

    step 2 advice in an earlier post reads :
    dont apply double profiling, let the application, Photoshop Cs in my case, handle the colour management and make sure no colour adjustment is checked in the printer driver, this is located in the colour management section of a drop down menu.

    this advice, step 2, is hard to follow because I do not know which phrase/choices in the dialog boxes refer to letting the SOFTWARE handle the printing and which refer to letting the PRINTER handle the printing. Either workflow would work fine. The Epson has wonderful capabilities when I get it managed correctly.

    I have repeatedly tried to use a workflow by Ballard but can't interpret the advice similar to "step 2" above in tandem with the opening choices for untagged photos.

    A single workflow would be great, but I need a solution that works no matter what the source of my photo (scanner, camera card being the most frequently used, I use an Olympus digital and a Casio digital).

    Thanks for any advice. Right now I'd just like to hit my printer with a rock, but I doubt that would solve anything.

    Please follow g ballards advice. You must understand first before you click. You NEVER USE the monitor profile except for the monitor itself. Hopefully you calibrated your monitor with an actual calibrator, which one was it?
    The Epson will give you what you need and want if you actually know what you're doing.
    There's a lot to understand, but it will become second nature once you follow the steps.

    It appears that you don't understand calibration, color spaces, profiles, rendering intent, device dependence, and output.

    You haven't given any system specs. Why are you using Indesign 3 and PS 8? Where is PS 10?

    Workflow completed. Design Time stores records to Case Management.

    Can someone please tell me steps to access the record and change a field value?

    I also want to attach another attachment to the process to be stored with the original attachments.

    So far I am poking around in SCASE transaction.

    I am able to search for processes and steps but when I click a line I have no auth to change the record.

    BASIS helped me and checked - doesn't look like I'm missing auth, but maybe usung SCASE wrong?

    Still working...

    However I can't edit the record when I get down to it. The Change (pencil button) is grayed out.

    Basis is checking my permissions again.

    Perhaps not the perfect solution, but I have found one! And it works for me.

    I'm breaking some SAP rules here. Need to see what the ramifications are...

    I can enter SWWIHEAD and change a workitem record to 'ready' from 'completed'. (The standard funtion will not allow this, hence forcing it with the debugger.) Forward the workitem to the user who needs to be able to make attachment/data change in the form.

    User completes workitem and then all stati go back to completed.

    Case management updates, and report we built (reading data from case mgmt) shows correct data and attachments.

    Ideally I need to configure a change workflow to grab that old form based on a selection parameter entered by user. Then they can change themselves without developer intervention.

    If HCM is accessible through ODBC then PAS can directly query it. Any SQL query statement can be run from PAS and the results returned and loaded into PAS measures. Providing you know your HCM table structure it will be a straight forward process.

    Also for the DPF to work , as per the documentation you need to set up a single record model , you can check out the tcode organizer , but pre-requsite to that is the records management must be present in your system , you can take help of any basis person to check the same.

    Hi Team,

    Kindly advise me the process of attendance in HCM? Our employee strength is 2000 and how can we process the attendance and OT calculation in HCM?

    Currently we using AVS software for attendance purpose-data is transferring from terminals to AVS server and processing the data.

    When we tried to apply the same process in HCM, the time management is not working properly ,,especially while editing the data..

    I would like to know, what is the process in SAP for time management..how can we do the editing of attendance in HCM and all.

    I'm sharing my experience:-

    If you are going with positive time management....!

    1.Your client will use whatever software terminal ID's are storing or not....?

    2. From you are side you should maintain Info type 0007, 0050

    0007: Time management status -- 1 actual time

    0050: This is key elements for where IT 2011 is gonna updated.

    In IT 0050 you should maintain employee personnel no

    Once you have maintained both info type's your part is done all most.. Nest abaper will come into picture..

    2. If terminal ID's are there (clock in out) in your client system based on this ABAPER need to write program once program is done they will provide either T.code or Program name where you can upload the time data.

    If still do you have any doubts kindly let me know.......!
