After installing 10.6.3 I am seeing a 3+ minute boot time on my MacBook Pro (2007) (I have it set to not require a password at boot).

Anyone know a reason why this would be happening?

I tried removing all Login Items and it's still extremely slow compared to before. I tried rebooting about 7 times now and it's always the same ... 3+ minutes. I see a light blue screen for about 1.5 of those 3+ minutes.

Compared to before this is very slow as it used to boot in about 1+ minute.

Bought this week new video card MSI ATI Radeon HD7850 Power Edition 2GD5/OC, after installing drivers, on the screen appears some image distortion with little flickering, sometimes black horizontal lines across display and not long after that I get a blue screen without any errors, just Blue Screen.

Tried installing latest beta drivers 12.11 from amd website and tried latest not beta 12.10, tried latest 8.982 from msi website, and older 8.98 and 8.950, tried those that came on cd too. Intel graphics drivers not installed, windows updates are up to date.

So every time after installing any of listed above drivers, I get a Blue Screen after a ~minute from logon, sometimes little longer. Then uninstalling them from safe mode, cleaning up with Driver Sweeper, cleaning registry with CCleaner, trying to install them again, same effect - Blue Screen.

Tried inserting video card into another PCI-e slot, same thing happens, tried this video card on another mother board which my friend has, some GIGABYTE model, dont know which exactly, but he has msi GTX 560 Ti Twin Frozr III, which works fine, tried connecting that video card, works fine on my pc too.

Tried installing windows 8 whithout graphics card, everything fine, then connect video card and unistall Intels, trying to boot windows, on login screen turns black. Tried installing windows 8 with connected video card, when windows is restarting for finishing up installation, get a black screen, press reset, trying to boot, windows did not finished installation.

So please, maybe anyone can help me figure it out, what can be the problem and sollution, video card works only on standart VGA drivers, trying to install any from MSI or AMD I get BLUE SCREEN.

Sad to hear you decided to go for another brand because of a rubbish statement from an obviously clueless shop staff guy. Faulty components are to be found with any manufacturer. The other two brands mentioned dont have lower rma rates than MSI at all.

A lot seems to indicate that a recent change of drivers or a driver clash (interestingly a Connexant modem with any driver other than a HCF will do this.)

He tried to start up but it was struck in the blue screen and then a minute or two, to login screen.Optical drive can not take in CD, I can put in disc but it doesn't take in as if the drive is not powered on.No 'C', Shift or Command+S combination keys and PRAM reset works. I mean it just doesn't respond to the keys upon starting up. No matter what, it just goes to blue screen and then login screen. When entered the password, it goes to blue screen then comes back to login. For reasons above, I cannot do any hardware test or boot up from DVD.I was thinking that because it doesn't respond to combinations of keys on startup and dead optical drive, could it be a logic board? This is 2007 model - 2.4 Ghz, not sure what OS it is running.Regards

You said originally "My friend was browsing the internet when suddenly, it just went off without any warning." so you might want to revisit that. As a former tech I'd want to know a bit more about that. When was the last time he knew the drive worked? IOW, is this all tied together or is it two separate issues that coincidentally become known when the keyboard croaked? For an iMac I'd lean more toward a dead drive than loose cable, though odder things have happened. (As about the cat who decided her master's Compaq tower might be a great place for nesting)

My G4 iBook froze up the other night while using Safari. I could not force quit or get any response from the keyboard. I shutdown holding the power button until the compter shut off. When I restarted things seemed to be going fine, I got the grey screen with the Apple logo and the turning gear. After a minute or two it goes to the blue screen and stays there. The HD stops spinning and it will go no further.

I tied to boot from the install disc, doesn't work. I tried to boot in safe mode, doesn't work. I tried to boot in target firewire, doesn't work. I can boot into single user mode. The other user gave me a bunch of things to try in single user mode, and it appears all things are good. Permissions are good.

I don't have any really valuable information on the laptop, I'm fine with reformatting the HD and starting over. I just can't get it to boot up for me to do that. Does anyone know if it is possible to do this from the terminal in single user mode? Anybody have some brilliant idea for me?

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community forums.

From the issue description, I see that you are unable to boot the computer and also i see that you are getting Blue Screen of Death (BSOD).

I can imagine the inconvenience you have experienced. We are here to help and guide you in the right direction.

To provide the appropriate resolution I would need more information from your end.
Do you get any error messages along with BSOD?

This issue may occur due to hardware and software issues.

I would suggest you to try the steps in the article and check if it helps.

Resolving stop (blue screen) errors in Windows 7
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Resolving-stop-blue-screen-errors-in-Windows-7

Note: When you perform System Restore to restore the computer to previous state, programs and updates you installed are removed.

Note: When you restore your computer from a system image, the contents of your hard disk are replaced with the contents of the system image. This means that any changes you've made, programs you've installed,
or files you've saved after the system image was created will likely be lost unless you have a recent backup of your data.

Note: Reinstalling Windows 7 will delete any programs you've installed and will restore the default
Windowssettings. You'll need to restore your user files, and reinstall any programs you've installed using the original installation discs or files.

Note: While performing chkdsk on the hard drive if any bad sectors are found on the hard drive when chkdsk tries to repair that sector if any data available on that might be lost. If you re-install windows make sure you backup all your data.

Let us know the status of the issue after performing the troubleshooting steps. If you need any further assistance or information regarding the issue with BSOD while booting the computer, I will be glad to help you.

Did you click on "Change Settings That Are Currently Unavailable" near the top center of screen?
The box is gray until you click on that... Other people have been unable to modify it for some reason that I haven't figured out though.

My problem was my internet connection and a 3rd party firewall and security program.

You might want to check in the System Config\msconfig "Services" tab at non-Microsoft startups.

After doing so, post the link on this thread so that we can look the dumps over.

Actually, the correct problem was the Video RAM, not the standard RAM. I found the answer by running Dell Diagnostics. Thank you for the input though.

I have a hp pavilion zv5200 which ran Windows XP Home. When I start the laptop, I get the blue screen as a flash then the laptop reboots coming up asking if I want to start in safe mode. The blue screen flashes so quickly I cannot read any of the message. If I try coming up in safe mode, the same issue occurs. The blue screen flashes the the laptop reboots. I called HP and ordered an OS disk and recovery disk. When I put the OS disk in and try to have the laptop boot from it, the process starts normally when I "press any key". During this initial stage to reformat the laptop- about a minute into it, the error message "The file acpi.sys is corrupted" appeared.. I called HP technical support and she couldn't/wouldn't tell me if the error was in the recovery disk or the laptop.

I tried again and got the error message "File iastor.sys caused an unexpected error (65280) at line 3540 in d:\xpsprtm\base\boot\setup.c". I tried one more time and got the error message "File SETUPREG.HIV could not be loaded. The error code is 65280 Setup cannot continue. Press any key to exit"

Is this an issue with the motherboard? Is this an issue with the recovery disk? Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions? Thank you in advance. ~Steve

    Hello,

I've had my Macbook for two years (no problems until now). I was using Safari, and suddenly, my screen froze and strange whirring noises were emitted from the laptop. I manually shut down the computer, then tried restarting a minute or so later. However, the only screen that comes up is gray/light blue- there are no icons present at all. No programs load, even after a few minutes.

So far, I have removed the HD and connected it to another computer via external enclosure. Everything seems to be fine from that end- the HD mounted and all of my files were present. I tried insert the OS X install disk, but the disk does not appear to be recognized. I have also tried using safe mode, but nothing. Now I can't even eject the disk from the laptop.

Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance...

    Hello Everybody!
I have an old Dell Dimension Desk top running XP Pro, that I rarely use. So just for fun, I ran an AVG scan on it; afterwords, the computer now takes 27 minutes (not kidding I timed it) to boot-up. First, there's a black screen which is on there for a
very long time; afterwords, the blue XP screen which states "loading windows" comes on and it remains on for about 12 minutes before my desktop finally appears. Ive tried restoring it to two earlier times, did not help. Any ideas why it is taking so long
    to boot?
    Thanks,
    Charles

    DB:2.99:27 Minute Boot-Up s1

I'm pretty much out of ideas, GUZZLR. If booting up with a clean boot environment or in Safe Mode also takes over 20 minutes, something is really wrong, obviously! It's as if the AVG scan is a coincidental red herring and maybe you got yourself some malware
    after the scan.
Assuming there is no malware, I would undo the System Restore you recently did, uninstall AVG, use their removal tool from their web site, and reboot. If still, no joy, one more System Restore (to the point before the scan). If that doesn't do it, a Repair
Install (post back if you need guidance because having IE7 or IE8 can muck things up). And if that doesn't work, a Clean Install.
If the booting never completed, I'd suggest chkdsk /r. ____, what do you have to lose? Before attempting a Repair Install, try chkdsk r.

I had one exactly like this. The power supply was bad.

You can buy a standard ATX12V 300 watt or better supply and PLUG into the board and try it but it wont fit in the case. Its worth borrowing one from someone to test. The GX150 doesnt suffer from the proprietary pinout that the GX1 and GX110 etc have.

DB:2.95:Tv Flashing Blue And Black On Ps4 Boot Up? jk

Can anyone help. When I turn on my ps4 the console light turns from blue to white as it should but my tv flashes from a black screen to a blue screen- like the one you get when there is no signal. It does this about 20 times and then shows the profiles screen. It takes around a minute for this to happen. Is this normal?

DB:2.95:Tv Flashing Blue And Black On Ps4 Boot Up? jk

The PS4 is HDMI v1.4 and your TV is HDMI V1.3, HDMI v1.4 supports handshaking (thus the PS4 does) whilst HDMI 1.3 does not (therefore the TV does not), the PS4 is looking for the TV and fining it, but then waiting for a return signal which it isn't getting, thus the PS4 times out after a while and sets the default HDMI signal.

Or try:- go to [System], [Enable HDMI link], and remove the tick (if it isn't ticked try adding the tick).

You could try a different port on your TV and if you have an HDMI switch disconnect it and go directly from the PS4 to the TV.

Lastly if you have not bought a new HDMI lead recently, either try the one supplied with the PS4 or buy a new one that supports the HDMI v1.4 standard.

I tried booting up in safe mode. It allowed me to log in after about a five minute wait--then went to the gray Apple screen with spinning dial, but then back to the blue screen with the pointer.

I tried to boot up in single user mode, got there, but had no idea what to look for.

Here's the big one--the CD drive quit working about three months ago.

I have an eMac. Is there any way I can use mine to get hers working? I'm not a total computer Geek, but I can follow directions.

DB:2.95:Blue Screen On Tiger 10.4 za

I cannot get past the gray screen with the apple and progress indicator. It goes straight back to the blue screen. I did a reinstall last night and it's up and running.

Two things stood out. One, her Safari was corrupt and wouldn't open. Two, a friend of hers had used the trial version of Office 2004 (which had expired) to type a paper. I'm not sure why she didn't use the working Office which was right there on the desktop. When I tried to open the document she created, it froze the computer.

The CD drive that worked with the reinstall software will not accept her Mac Office CDs, so I have to figure out how to reinstall that. I'm thinking about an external optical drive since hers is out of warranty and I don't want to pay $500 for Apple to do it. She's a photography major and needs to burn photos to CDs.

    Thanks for your help!

Two broad categories. It's either hardware or software. AHT saying all is all right doesn't mean it is so - it just means AHT may have missed what was the problem, especially if it is intermittent. If this is also happening when you boot from your installer disc that means it is almost certainly hardware since you are basically using a totally clean and different set of software when booted from the disc.

I would recommend at this stage that you post this problem on the MacBook Pro forum since they are the ones running similar hardware. It could be a familiar problem to one of them.

Is there any other information apart from that listed?
    You could try here:http://www.tipandtrick.net/2008/windows-xp-sp3-bsod-endless-reboot-loop-with-stop-c0000139-on-gdi32dll-error/
    OR this:-
To resolve this issue, use the Windows XP Recovery Console to replace the RPCRT4.dll file with the original version. To do this, follow these steps:
Insert your Windows XP CD-ROM into the computer's CD-ROM drive or DVD-ROM drive, and then restart your computer from the CD-ROM.

NOTE: Somecomputersmay require that you modify the basic input/outputsystem(BIOS) settings before you can start the computer from a CD-ROM. For information about how to modify BIOS, see your computer documentation.
At the Welcome to Setup screen, press R to start the Recovery Console.
Press the number key that corresponds to the installation that you want to repair, and then press ENTER.
Type the Administrator password, and then press ENTER.
With the Windows XP CD-ROM still in the CD-ROM drive or DVD-ROM drive, type the following commands, pressing ENTER after each command:
    cd system32
    ren RPCRT4.dll RPCRT4.old
    CD-ROM_or_DVD-ROM_Drive_Letter:
    cd \i386
    expand RPCRT4.dl_ BootDriveLetter:\windows\system32
    exit

HOWEVER, I find reinstalling Windows is sometimes the best option when getting these particular BSODs because they are normally caused by infection.

Help! The hard drive on my Dimension 4600 crashed. I got a blue screen with the "Unmountable Boot Messgae" message. I tried going to the recovery console and running chkdsk /r but there were unrecoverable errors. I next tired reformatting the disk and reinstalling Windows XP Home Ed, but it still doesn't work right. When I try to boot up, after the Dell screen, I get a blank screen and then a white bar across the bottom of the screen that takes about a 10 minutes to fill up, and then FINALLY I get the Windows screen. I tried chkdsk /r from the recovery console again, and again there were errors, as it took a long tme for chkdsk to fix. But the 10 minute boot problem persists.

I suspect my hard drive needs to be replaced. Does anyone have any other ideas short of this?

If I buy a new drive, will I be able to load WIndows XP from the re-installation CD that came with my PC? I can't see buying a new copy of XP since I already have a license through Dell.

Using the Advanced Forum Search on the bottom of this page, you can quite easily find the answer to this often asked question.

Reboot and hit F12 to run Dell diagnostics to see if the drive has failed, which it likely has.

Yes, the Reinstall Disk allows you to reinstall Windows XP.

    hi,
this is a good, newer machine hp8300 its in safe mode now, but if I boot it fizzles out with blue screen and restarts the same way, same time about 1 minute after showing the login page. whether or not I type something in, it blue screens.

I am trying to find how to take steps to solve this. I ran the windows memory diagnostic at startup 2 times and it said no errors. I did selective startup and only allowed core Microsoft or Symantec programs to run didn't matter.

tried some troubleshooting steps that did nothing, then gave the option to search here.

also tried the built in service to check online for problems, that ran then said couldn't connect; now it says Windows security center service is not started, click then it says it cant be started, maybe because of being in safe mode? if I goto regular
mode it wont work and safe mode seems to not be able to do something it needs so ??

isn't there a windows program that will look at the system crashes and recommend something?

the problem seems to have started after I did a system restore point, since then it crashes.

DB:2.91:Blue Screen Of Death Problem 3m

    Hello Mikein,

Thank you for using Microsoft Community.

    1. What is the model number of the laptop?
    2. Have you made any changes to your computer?

This error occurs when a user-mode subsystem, such as WinLogon or the Client Server Run-Time Subsystem (CSRSS), has been fatally compromised and security can no longer be guaranteed. In response, the operating system switches to kernel mode. Microsoft Windows
cannot run without WinLogon or CSRSS. Therefore, this is one of the few cases where the failure of a user-mode service can shut down the system.

Mismatched system files can also cause this error. This can occur if you have restored your hard disk from a backup.

I would suggest you to try restarting your computer and press F8 key which will open advanced boot options and select Last known good configuration and check.

    Refer:
Advanced startup options (including safe mode)
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode

If issue still occurs, Try to start in safe mode.

    Also see:
Resolving stop (blue screen) errors in Windows 7
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Resolving-stop-blue-screen-errors-in-Windows-7

    Important notes:
When you use System Restore to restore the computer to a previous state, programs and updates that you installed are removed.

While performing chkdsk on the hard drive if any bad sectors are found on the hard drive when chkdsk tries to repair that sector if any data available on that might be lost.

I highly recommend backing up all of your important files and folders onto an external storage device before attempting any type of OS repair or upgrade.

Please reply with results so that we can assist you further.

    Thank you

I've Installed Windows 7, and it works find without installing the boot camp drivers. It also works when I manually install each driver I know I need such as RealTek Audio, NVIDIA, and so on. But when I try to install the whole shebang, my Windows installation is invariably left unusable crashing with seconds or at most a minute or two after boot time with a venetian blind effect leading to a "blue screen of death" that's visible only for a few seconds before the system restarts. The only think I really see on that screen is something about "CACHE_MEMORY".The upshot is, I have no Startup Disk control panel in Windows which actually makes me keep another video card in my Mac Pro taking up a valuable card slot such that I can use EFI graphical booting supported by my main NVIDIA card. Is there any hope out there, any ideas? It seems like I've tried almost everything..

After a minute or so I would then get the message that I needed to restart, with the screen filled with blue lines.I tried to boot from the install CD but I didn't get the options to back up, only to erase the HD.I took it to the Genius Bar and they told me the HD was shot. They managed to get some of the data off it but told me it needed to be replaced.I have just installed a WD 320GB but now I get the same issue on start up with the apple logo with the blue lines through it but now I can't boot or get access to the CD.I have tried trying to boot using C, ALT and apple keys. Starting to think it wasn't a HD problem after all!?Any pointer greatly appreciated. Thanks

I haven't rebooted it yet but I'm hoping everything will be ok when I do!If this happens to anyone else, I must have started and re-started about 60 times before I finally managed to get access to the CD.

I have a U845W with Windows 7, which shuts itself off about a minute after booting up.

There is no blue screen of death, the computer just dies.

I tried booting two different versions of Linux from USB and the same thing happens - a minute or two after boot-up,

    the computer shuts off.

However, if I boot up into Windows safe mode, the computer works for longer.

It still shuts itself off randomly, but might work for a half hour to an hour.

If I boot into Windows safe mode with only the command prompt, it works the longest - for a couple of hours.

This happens no matter if it's running only on battery power, or if it's plugged into the wall.

I tried looking for memory dump files and found none.

This all suggests a hardware problem, not a software one, but unfortunately the computer is past warranty.

I think I can figure out how to open up the laptop, but I don't know what I should look for in its insides.

Does anybody have suggestions for my problem, or maybe a copy of the U845W service manual?

hardware is a game of trial and error. try the easiest/cheapest things first then move on down the line. It would seem to me to be the battery but that is not to say there is any guarantee. Hi deebeg,

    a. What are the troubleshooting steps you have performed already?

    b. What’s the Service Pack (SP) you have installed on your computer?

To check which SP is installed, do the following:

    1. Click the Start button right-click Computer, and then click
    Properties.
    2. Check under Windows edition to confirm the service pack version.

Let’s try and boot the computer using Last Known Good Configuration and check if that makes things any better. Make sure
to disconnect any external peripherals like printers, etc.

With respect to the error message mentioned, installing the latest service pack has helped in getting rid of the
    STOP: 0x00000050 error.

DB:2.90:Blue Screen Of Death (0x00000f4) When I Try To Boot Or Format My Pc 3z

Rohit - First off - defragging the registry = BAD idea. VERY bad idea. Most registry tools available on the market are NOT ready for Windows 7 - yet. That would be any tool designed to clean or defrag or otherwise manipulate the registry. Secondly... Now that you've trashed the registry... About the only thing I can suggest would be to do an in place upgrade - meaning you insert the DVD into the optical drive and booting from the DVD drive. When Windows 7's Installer loads, you'll be doing an installation on top of your existing Windows 7 installation. This will have the effect of resetting your Windows 7 installation to it's default settings. Your data and programs will NOT be touched - they'll still be there. You will need your product key and you'll need to activate Windows again. You'll also need to visit Windows Update again.

Tried to power my system up this morning, but all it would do is show the MSI Logo post screen, then a light blue screen it will never go past (after about a minute the computer just shuts off).

Tried restarting, making sure it was connected to a power adapter, unplugged all devices still connected to it. Still just booting to that blue screen.

Let the laptop go to sleep last night with the lid closed, so not sure exactly what happened.

Still kinda new with windows so i'm looking over some of the options I have (f11 just brings me to the boot device menu that shows the IP4, IP6 Network Controller, and Windows Boot Manager (Intel RAD0IMSVolume).

Trying Windows Boot Manager, It just shows the same MSI Logo post screen and a light blue screen.

Any ideas on how to proceed troubleshooting this issue?

    Thank You

DB:2.89:1 Minute Boot Up On Dell Vostro 230s f3

    Hi,

I bought a second hand dell vostro 230s, the slim tower, to use as a secondary linux machine. Recently though I noticed that the boot up time is really slow. It sits on the Dell splash screen about a minute before the blue bar starts goes across and everything boots as normal. So, goes like this: power on dell splash screen (few seconds to get to this) empty progress bar 1min later blue bar slides across quickly and boots. I tried all the things here:

    http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/desktop/f/3514/t/19520205.aspx

But still no luck. I ran the built in boot diagnostics after disconnecting the dvd and hard drive but no errors found, tried the original ram, tried one stick etc... It used to boot up a lot faster so Im at a loss as to what it could be, other than a motherboard failure waiting to happen.

I havent changed any hardware other than the RAM when I first bought it. The BIOS was already 1.4.0 and quickboot is enabled with HDD being the only boot option, all others disabled. Memtest+ just gave me 2 red fail bars on the first run but I would need to test the sticks individually and for longer. The original RAM as I said didnt solve the slow start up either so I am not convinced its a RAM issue.

Any hints would be most appreciated.

    Sam.

After disabling halt at keyboard error in bios, and then unplugging my usb mouse and usb keyboard, the pc is now loading to desktop in record time, obviously with no option of getting into the bios!

Seems the usb devices are causing the problem. I cant disable usb in bios though because then the devices dont work in my OS either. I just found that out so will get an old connector keyboard from work tomorrow and re-enable usb.

Maybe my best option is to simply plug the usb devices in after the os has loaded, which is pretty lame.

DB:2.87:Vista Base Pc Went Blue Screen And Will Not Boot Up m8

    Hi redrocted

Thank you for using Microsoft Answers Forums!
It seems that a recent hardware or software change on the machine has caused the problem.

I will recommend you to unplug any external hardware connected to the machine and check if the machine boots up.

We can also try to perform a startup repair of Windows Vista in order to fix the issue.

You can follow the given link:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/925810

Also run the Memory Diagnostic Tool from the System Recovery options:

To use this method, you need to restart (boot) your computer using the disc.
    1. Insert the disc.
    2. Restart your computer using the computer's power button.

    3. If prompted, press any key to start Windows from the installation disc.

    4. If your computer isn't configured to start from a CD/DVD, check the information that came with your computer. You may need to change your computer's BIOS settings.

    5. Choose your language settings, and then click Next.
    6. If you are using the Windows installation disc, click
    Repair your computer.
    7. Select the Windows installation you want to repair, and then click
    Next.
    8. On the System Recovery Options menu, click a
    memory diagnostic to open it.

Hello my macbook (13inch) unibody seems to take a long time (about 5 minutes) to reboot (on the white page with the loading icon and apple logo) until i reach a black screen (a bit of a blue tint) with only the pointer in it. The pointer can move around and i can adjust the brightness of keypad or screen (but it takes about a minute from the pressing of button until it takes effect). The last thing that happen before this was i that i was running parallels which froze, causing me to do a hard reboot (with the reboot button), and then before i knew it the problem had began. I tried using safe reboot but it does not work. Any solutions guys?
    Thanks,
    - Jeff

DB:2.86:Black Screen With Pointer Upon Boot Up (Help) fm

I have the same problem with my Mac Mini: most of the time, connecting in via Screen Sharing just gives me a black screen with a mouse pointer and nothing else. I can SSH in fine, and if I reboot I do get the login screen as normal - but when I log in, Screen Sharing gets disconnected, and when I reconnect the screen is black again.

I've seen this problem on both my MBPs as well, but only when I (try to) resume from sleep. For a while I avoided sleep entirely, shutting the MBP off any time I moved it, but they haven't been so bad lately.

It's certainly infuriating, but having had this issue intermittently on Core Duo and Core 2 Duo MBPs and now consistently on a Mac Mini, across both Leopard and Snow Leopard, a fix seems unlikely now.

Does anyone know a way of getting single user mode over SSH? (The Mini is headless, so getting it a keyboard, mouse and display just to run fsck would be a pain...)

That problem usually comes with a IOKit timeout due to a device driver problem. Please use the Console application to inspect the logs and try to locate the IOKit timeout message. Then post the message with a bit of context here and I will look into it.

The driver loading phase usually goes very quickly and you would see a list of files printed on the screen. If you're not seeing a delay, i.e. goes to the Windows processor screen and chkdsk quickly then the problem is probably in a later boot order group or in a WIndows Service. I would look at the list of Services in Control Panel Administrator Tools Services. Also run Start Run msconfig and look at the startup tab for any potential startup hogs.

Since you are unable to restore to factory condition using the computer mftr.'s disc, your computer is suffering hardware failure. You can troubleshoot this yourself (start with the hard drive) or take the machine to a reputable local professional. Don't
