DB:3.02:Cs4 Install Just Hangs Verifying Configuration jc

    Hi guys

For some months I've tried installing the Master Collection CS4 trial on my PC Intel 2 quad CPU, 2.93gig RAM, 3 separate HDDs - 149, 139 120gig, OS = XP SP3, NVIDIA Geoforce 8800GTS, SoundMax HD Audio.

I tried installing the disk but it didn't load Premiere Pro (which was the real reason for trying it) due to a colour profile problem. I uninstalled it, ran restore to pre-install and tried again but it gets to about 95% of verifying configuration and then hangs. When I check programmes in the Control Panel, it shows the MC as installed, so I uninstall it and try again; same thing! I tried installing in safe mode but I get "Install has encountered an error and needs to close".

Since then I've bought another PC running XP64E and gave MC a trial and I'm about to buy the full license. When I do I understand I can load it on a second PC as long as I don't have the same programme open on both at the same time. Therefore I plan to load it on the older one. However, has anyone any ideas how I can clear this "hang" problem first?

    Regards,

    Graham

DB:3.02:Cs4 Install Just Hangs Verifying Configuration jc

    Hi Dov

Thank you for your response, it is much appreciated but I'm sure you will also appreciate I am extremely unhappy. How on earth can I or anyone else trust Adobe after this?

I run a small Public Affairs consultancy and purchasing MC CS4 is a big investment for us. I made more than reasonable efforts to make sure I 'd have the best environment for it to run onby contacting the company; thats why I had a new PC built and the engineer was part of the call. Id have never had bought XP64 (and the various components that are XP64 compliant) if it wasnt for the explicit but wrong advice of Adobes technical support. Now I'm facing further a lot of additional uncessary costs to put right Adobe's wrong advice.
I think there's a duty of care issue here and one that cannot be shrugged off simply with "tough-luck". Can you supply the contact details of a decision maker in the company so I can follow this up please? I don't think the forum is the place to continue this exchange.
I'm sorry and this not a case of shooting the messenger, but I simply cannot let it rest like this.

    Regards,

    Graham

    Hello all,
I am installing Oracle portal 10.1.2 on RedHat enterprise 3, It is a distributed install, I have OID running on another Red Hat 3 machine. When I try to install portal and the business intelligence tools, during the configuration stage during the OC4J configuration, I get a message that says starting OC4J_portal and the installer hangs. I could not find an error message or the like and it ran for 2 days without completion. Has anyone else seen this before? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am at a stand still currently. You don't have to set the bandwidth on the router if your using the router as a pptp server.  And with the pptp passthrough, sometimes i run into it being an issue with the GRE protocol and not so much the pass through.  That is why that happens.  However I am glad to help you get that working.

    Thanks.

I've thought about that before, actually.  Right now, I'd probably opt for an install with inline SR upgrade to 8.5(1) SU2 but it's definitely something to think about.

I'm trying to install Oracle10gAS (10.1.3) on a laptop running Windows XP Pro. The installation seems to run fine until the OPMN Configuration Assistant runs, at which point the installation process hangs. I've let the process run overnight just in case it's a very slow process, but to no avail.

I've disabled the Windows firewall and also WebRoot Spy Sweeper in case they were interfering but there was no change - still hanging.

I've installed 10gAS before without issues, so this one's a bit of a conundrum. Any ideas would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

DB:2.79:Opmn Configuration Assistant Hangs On Installation ax

I uninstalled NOD as well and it worked like a charm. I must say it uses a sizeable chunk of memory though. With the database (XE) and the SOA suite running I am using over 2.13 gb of my pagefile. What is annoying me however is that I look at my physical memory stats and only 1 gig is being consumed and the other gig is remaining free. Why XP Pro is so retarded when it comes to memory usage is beyond me. Perhaps one of you knows of a registry tweak that forces the system to use ALL of the existing RAM before it starts paging to the hard disk?

This sounds suspiciously like a permissions issue, where it is not allowed, because of systems permissions, to save the config file.

I'd suggest running Disk Utility and repairing disk permissions.

DB:2.68:Windows Resource Protection Could Not Perform The Requested Operation. km

A close friend's machine was blue screening on boot so he had me take a look at it. The error in the BSOD indicated Windows was having trouble reading from the drive. Although the drive wasn't clicking, based on what I was seeing, it seemed pretty
clear the drive was on its way out. I ran chkdsk, several times, and it found plenty of bad sectors but wasn't able to really fix anything. Fortunately I was able to

clone the drive using gpartedrun chkdskfix the master boot record, boot sector and boot configuration data storerun chkdsk againNow all is well
Upon booting I noticed the system was dreadfully out of date: Firefox, Java, Reader, Flash - the works - so I updated all that. I also noticed it was missing something like 50-70 Windows updates so I had to straight that right away. It
managed to install 15-20 before failing with 80070057. This to me isn't too uncommon so I rebooted thinking it wouldn't choke next time. Much to my chagrin, any subsequent attempts fail with error 80070057. I even tried installing just a few updates
at a time, even just 1, and the error persists. My assumption is that one or more files are maybe damaged and need to be fixed.
I ran sfc /scannow and it gets to about 27%, then fails with Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation. I did the following:

backed up the existing CBS logran sfc /scannow againwatched the log in powershell viaGet-Content C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log -Wait
    It started out strong

    C:\Windows\system32

I've run into sfc issues in the past, and in one instance, booting the OS install DVD, and runningsfc /scannow /offbootdir=c:\ /offwindir=c:\windows did fix the issue. But I have to ask
Is there no way to do that while in Windows? Can't I mount some WIM and do it that way instead of booting the DVD?
Is that the right course of action, or is/are there some other options I should explore?

    Thanks for your time guidance.

    Hi,
In my opinion, if you want SFC to use a sourcepath to repair your system, you can just use in-place upgrade to do this:
How to Perform an In-Place Upgrade on Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 Windows Server 2008 R2
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2255099

Thanks for taking the time to reply and for this suggestion.
The in-place upgrade is a wonderful potential solution, but the process requires the source media. Most systems these days don't include the OS or recovery CD's because the manufacturers want you to pay for them. And most consumers aren't spending
the $50-$70 dollars to get the media, which complicates things in situations like this. So while they've purchased a machine and have a valid Microsoft COA sticker on the box, they can't do anything.
Also, to make matters worse, I posted this in the wrong forum as this is a Vista Home Premium PC. [My sincere apologies for that. Mods please feel free to move/reclassify] I do have a Vista Home Premium DVD, but its the 32-bit version, not 64-bit,
which is what this system is. So unless I can locate a Visa Home Premium 64-bit DVD, or they upgrade to Windows 7 or 8 (which they probably should do anyway), we're sunk.

DB:2.68:Dca Hangs On W2k Infrastructure Install mm

I'm doing an AS 9.0.2.0.1 Infrastructure install on top of a clean install of W2K Server SP2. The install goes fine until the Database Configuration Assistant task on the Configuration Tools page. At this point everything just hangs.

I've checked the log and JREW has been spawned, but there is no error reported. JREW is still shown as a running process, but is consuming no CPU.

The server is a dual PIII (1.13GHz) with 2GB of memory.

    Any help would be appreciated

    Thanks.

tom i think i have an answer for you....i have worked with the same problem with oracle for more than two weeks and they were just trying to blame it on my FQDN and everything else under the sun. finally a peer came up with this note that can be found on metalink. note:229478.1
i can bet you your problem lies in that you have a dual processor. what you need to do is only run one processor and ur config assistant will not hang.
i have asked them to put this is their cookbook note:214691.1 as related notes b/c i know i am not the only one with this problem. we will see if they do or not. i see that this is an older post but if you didnt get it working follow that note on metalink and i think you will be on ur way.
    good luck,
    robert

DB:2.67:Chkdsk Is Verifying Free Space Hangs pk

    Urgent
any one have any suggestion as to what I can do to get the computer back in normal Windows .It seems it will run forever.OS is Windows Pro -64

DB:2.67:Chkdsk Is Verifying Free Space Hangs pk

    Hi Erhan,

    1. Since when are you facing the issue?
    2. Do you have the Windows XP installation CD?
    3. Have you made any recent software or hardware changes on the computer?

Depending on the capacity, amount of data on your HDD and what chkdsk finds to do, it could take a long time and appear to hang when it is working.
If you have a HDD access indicator LED and it is flashing, it is most probably doing some work on the hard drive.

Chkdsk runs when XP thinks it need to check the hard drive for any dirty sectors or if you have chosen to do so.

You need to see what the chkdsk report has to say after it runs automatically.

You need to look there for the chkdsk log and any problems after chkdsk has run.

To see the Event Viewer logs, click Start, Settings, Control Panel, Administrative Tools,
    Event Viewer.

A shortcut to Event Viewer is to click Start, Run and in the box
    enter:

    %SystemRoot%\system32\eventvwr.msc

Click OK to launch the Event Viewer.

If you are not able to boot the computer to normal mode, I would suggest you to do a hard reset. Press the power button for 5 to 10 seconds. The computer will shut down. Now press the power button to start the computer but press F8 as the computer is starting.
Select safe mode from the advanced boot menu and click enter.

If you are able to boot to safe mode then click on start, click on run, type cmd. On the command prompt type
    chkdsk /r

This will check for any dirty sectors on the hard drive.

    Once done restart the computer.

Important: While performing chkdsk on the hard drive if any bad sectors are found, chkdsk tries to repair that sector and if any data is present on that sector it might get lost.

    Also refer:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315265

If you are able to perform the chkdsk from safe mode, I would also suggest you to backup all the important data.

Hope this helps and do let us know if you need further assistance. We will be glad to assist.

    Hi,

I am trying to install WebLogic server 10.3.6. I ran generic installer and it completed successfully. Then I start configuration wizard and it just hangs when I choose 'create new domain'. The same is with 'extend existing domain'. What can be wrong?

Change the ulimit to higher value and try again.

    Also see below

There is a small issue in Weblogic 12c I dont know whether this issue is there in previous versions.

ASProvWorkflowException Occurs When Creating a WebLogic Domain

    Platform: All
In rare cases, if your installation environment contains existing JAVA_OPTIONS prior
to starting a Fusion Middleware product installation, these may cause an ASProvWorkflowException, preventing the domain from being created.

    Workaround
Prior to starting the Fusion Middleware product installation, clear the existing JAVA_
OPTIONS. If you have an application in the environment that use these JAVA_
OPTIONS, the applications may not work after clearing the options. In this case, save
the existing JAVA_OPTIONS to a text file and investigate alternatives for running your
    other application.

I accidentally posted this question in the wrong section of the forum and I didnt get any responses so I'm hoping I'll get better luck here...
I tried looking around the forum and google but wasnt able to find anything directly related to my issue.
    Here it is..
Im install ForeFront Client Security on Windows 2008 Datacenter x86. I am installing all the FCS server 'Roles' on the Win2008 box. I have a SQL 2005 Standard server i want to use for the database. I already created the instance.
The error log is below but it seems like FCS doesnt quite understand that i want the databases on a different server. It gives me errors that its doesnt see the Reporting Service, Integration Service, and Backward Compatibilitly components installed. It
also says the services are not set to start automatically. If i check on my SQL server all those components are installe and running.
Is there a special service account i need to use for the sql services? I just dont understand why it see's the instance because it passes the collection database check but has a problem with the services. Kind of at a stand still with this. Any help would
    be greatly appreciated.

Thanks. I copied my remoting and messaging jars from my AS install into the esb lib/ext, replacing the current ones and that took care of the issue

DB:2.65:K8n Neo2 Platinum Hanging: Verifying Dmi Pool Data... 1f

    Hi everybody,

Ive just mounted my new PC early in the morning. After start, I entered the BIOS and everything was nice ! Hardware recognized, temps, voltages...

I booted from Windows XP SP1 CD, without any problems. When appeared the screen where you select the HD to install the XP in, my SATA HD appeared as expected.

But I had no time to install the XP at that moment. So I didnt choose the SATA HD to install and reset the computer, entered the BIOS again, take a look at the temps and voltages and, very glad, turn off the machine.

Later, I turn on the machine to really install the XP. But... the board dont boot from the CD anymore!

It hangs (always) after this message: Verifying DMI Pool Data...

What I have done? How to solve that?

    Thanks in advance

I set up port 1723 to forward to the server and had this working before we installed this router while using another router by using a SOHO sonicwall. The first time I attempted to connect remotely over VPN, it worked likea champ. Everytime after that, it just hangs at verifying username and password. It's almost like the GRE port is not being forwarded but the 1723 port is. I disabled and reenabled PPTP passthrough. It stopped even going to the verifying username and password and just timed out connecting when it was disabled, then went back to the same symptoms once I reenabled. I tried turning off block all wan requests and that didn't change a thing. I'm out of ideas. It seems this person had the same issue but I didn't see a resolution posted: http://forums.linksys.com/linksys/board/message?board.id=Wireless_Routersmessage.id=12323Looking forward to a response.

I don't know what happened but during the uninstall of Cisco Configuration Professional 2.5 to 2.6, the program hangs after router discovery, after clicking on ANY configuration in the tree-list.  I've uninstalled Java, the CP, deleted folders, and re-installed - it just hangs there with the Java logo.  Any suggestions?

DB:2.64:Cisco Cp Hangs On Clicking On Config kc

Sadly, the help doc didn't have the solution.  However, after two days of constantly installing and uninstalling, I found the solution.  I had to launch CP from Internet Explorer itself in order to see what the exact error message was.  CP launching in its own window masks most all console error messages.  The problem was the part about "disable advanced Java plugins."  I had it already disabled, but after downgrading to 1.6.0_11, CP did not properly recognize that setting.  I had to go into the Java settings, enable advanced java, open CP, let it CRASH.  Then go back into Java, disable advanced java plugins, then re-open CP for it to properly recognize the Java plugin, letting me run - FINALLY!

    Hi

You havn't added your machine specs, but there have been updates for several vendors mainboards to handle SATA optical drives, It may be worth updating your BIOS.
This is a recognised problem on some boards.

    Hi,
We have just upgraded our sce 2007 to sce 2010, we have a single server topology for FCS. And FCS and SCE share the same server which is windows server 2008 std. When i tried to upgrade sce i got an error about the mom server version. I decided to start

Sce is on a SQL 2005 instance called SCE and FCS is suppose to be installed on an instance called FCS that i have installed and configured.
I have installed .net 1.1 and registered it with iis and enabled it. I have cleared out all files under the admin user temp folder.
The only thing i can think might cause problems is the MOM server that is installed with SCE 2010. Cause i can't remember sce 2007 using MOM. When i try to run the MOMserver.msi in the FCS setup files i get the modify, repair or uninstall wizard. When i
choose modify i get told the prerequisite areinsufficient, and the only error that itcomplainsabout is the user was not detected as sysadmin for the DB. But i have ensured that the DAS account is sysadmin.

    Any help would be appreciated.

I'm sorry to disagree with you, but that is not completely true. It may not be a supportedscenario, but it is possible i have got a windows server 2008 R2 running with SCE 2010 and forefront client security. I had some issues with SCE but that was
due to some remains of sce 2007 causing trouble with sce 2010. The clients are getting updates and reporting to FCS.The only thing i was missing was the sp1 for FCS, that fixed thedeployment of gpo in the domain.

I have the Neo4 Platinum and Im trying to install windows (w/sp1) on 2 Seagate 200g Sata drives (Raid-1) from the CD but here is what I get:

If I use the Silicon Image SATARaid with the drives loose (No RAID) it will boot through to the CD
If I use the Silicon Image SATARaid with the drives Raid-1 it hangs at verifying dmi pool data
If I use the NVidia RAID with either of the drives plugged it hangs at verifying dmi pool data

    Note:
In all cases the BIOS sees the drives (Silicon NVidia).
I have flashed the BIOS to the 1.2v just to be sure it wasnt solved in the update. (and to be sure the BIOS wasnt damaged).
Also, this is before windows is installed, so though I am aware of the Drive size limit it doesnt apply yet... because I cant get it to do RAID-1 and Boot to the CD at the same time.

All input is welcome and thanks in advance,

Think you may need to change the Boot Sequence to reflect the SATA drive you want to boot off of.

Thanks. After posting I found a forum that said to have patience. ( I had searched previously before posting).

I waited it out and it took about 15 minutes.

I was surprised because my MacBook Pro running Leopard does not seem to take so long. The other forum suggested that deselecting multiple foreign languages at install may make a difference.

Got a virus a few weeks ago and was able to get rid of it. I can't remember the name of it but it hid all of my files/folders and have slowly but surely been unhiding them.

Since them I have uninstalled/reinstalled McAfeee multiple times, run the program to completely remove all McAfee everything, and I still can't get McAfee to update on its own. I have called my corporate tech support line and got pretty much no help from them. I have just been installing the superdat file every 10 days or so so I can continue to VPN in. There is a new superdat today but my update didn't install it. Usually the console will say Update succeeded, but when I bring up About McaAfee it doesn't have a new dat file mentioned on it.

Well it's been a week and yes I am getting updates automatically again, both (most importantly) McAfee and Windows Update. Like I said the only thing I did that I didn't back out of was the Software Distribution folder. I'm going with the assumption that fixed it.

I hope some one can tell me what the problem could be, or otherwise push me in the right direction. Greetings, Zarko RSK

DB:2.62:The Sql Server Service Must Have Its Startup Type Set To Automatic dk

    Hi,

    Thank you for posting.

Before going any further, I’d like to confirm the version of SQL Server 2005 you have installed( Express, Standard or Enterprise). And Express is not supported.

As we know, Forefront Client Security Server only support for 32bit Servers. The same thing goes for SQL Server, you have to have SQL 2005 Enterprise or Standard(32 bit). For more information, please see: http://www.microsoft.com/forefront/clientsecurity/sysreqs.mspx

If you have installed Standard or Enterprise version and the issue still retains. I ‘d like to confirm whether you are trying to install the Reporting Database Server piece and not the Reporting Server piece. We can assume that the setup is looking for the database locally. So we should install the correct server piece (Reporting Server and not Reporting Database Server)

DB:2.61:Xplore Index Server Configuration Hangs...After Xplore Install. 37

    Hi All,

I've got a brand new environment I'm building with the new 6.7sp1 software on Red Hat 6.1, 64-bit.

I have successfully installed the xPlore software but when I'm trying to configure the first instance of the PrimaryDSearch Server, the installer hangs just about a few seconds after I select the radio button for what I want to configure...the Primary DSearch Server. It changes the page to show the installation timeline where it installs all the components and the bar gets bigger until it's at 100%. It gets started and then it just hangs....nothing after that.

I've relaunched it several times, but it doesn't do anything. It doesn't create any info in the install log, it just hangs. Here's a pic of where this hang happens:

In fact, here is the whole install up to where it hangs...the last picture is when the install begins...but it just hangs.

This is it...it just sits at this point right here. I've left it overnight (was after 5pm when I started it), came in the next morning and it was still sitting there. The files inside the jboss instance were created....oh and I checked permissions on all directories for installation /apps and /data both are owned by my dmadmin user and have 755 permissions on them. It's not a 'can't write to the directory' issue...it's something larger.

Anyone have any clue what this is about? Anyone else seen this? This is 6.7SP1...and I've encountered several challenges with this software so far. It seems I'm always at the first client to install EMC's software.

    Thanks for any ideas!

    Scott

Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately, the Set LAX_DEBUG=true command doesn't work on my Red Hat 6.1 64-bit host. I'm not sure what LAX_DEBUG is from, but if it's an internal Red Hat program, those packages don't exist on my system.

Know where that comes from? Any other way to get tracing or debug turned on for the configDsearch.sh script which runs the configuration of the Primary Instance? xPlore is installed...just configuring the first instance is where it hangs...but since this is the installer program, regular DFC tracing won't show me anything.

    Thanks!

DB:2.61:Hangs At Verifying Dmi Pool Data mk

I spent most of Saturday trying to install Windows 7, with a spectacular lack of success!
At first all seemed to be going well and I got the Win7 desktop and had a look at various bits. Then I changed the Workgroup name so that it would be on the same one as my other machines and I could copy some files across, that of course needed a restart.  The boot process got as far as 'verifying DMI pool data' and hung.
I tried installing it again, and that only got as far as the first restart and once again it hung at 'verifying DMI pool data'.
At this point I changed the hard disk and installed Win7 again, that got to the first restart and yet again it hung at 'verifying DMI pool data'.
I then installed XP Home on the same drive, getting the XP install to format the drive to remove any traces of Win7,  XP installed OK and had no problems with restarts. I then started the Win7 install from within XP, and once again it hung at 'verifying DMI pool data' on the first restart!!
Google came up with a wonderful array suggestions about what to do about PCs that hang with 'verifying DMI pool data', but none of them made any difference.
I've come to the conclusion that the problem lies with the Windows 7 installation. I've now fitted my original hard disk with my XP system on it back into the machine and the problem has disappeared.
    Has anyone else had this?
The machine I've been trying to install Win7 on is a 3Ghz P4 with 3GB of RAM.

While the setup is going on, I get a message in front of each server component ('Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services', 'SharePoint Portal Server' and 'Microsoft SQL Server Desktop engine') in setup window, which says ‘Installed‘ and in the bottom of the window, 'Preparing SharePoint server 2003 configuration. This may take a few seconds’. After this, the setup hangs. I am unable to see any SharePoint related attributes in perfmon. Any help please?

DB:2.61:Oracle As 10.1.2 Install Hangs zc

    Hi,
I am installing Oracle Application Server 10.1.2 on Dell Latitude D620 (Win XP Pro Service Pack 2).

The installation starts fine, but when I get to the point where the Java Security Configuration Assistant is being run the installation just hangs and the Java Security Configuration Assistance status just reports "In Progress".

    The output generated just contains:

Output generated from configuration assistant "Java Security Configuration Assistant":
Oracle JAAS [Wed Oct 11 11:47:31 BST 2006]: invoking command:C:\software\oracle10gAS\dcm\bin\dcmctl.bat resyncInstance

I have pasted the command "C:\software\oracle10gAS\dcm\bin\dcmctl.bat resyncInstance" into a dos box but when the command is run is just hangs aswell and no output \ error is generated.

I have shutdown my virus scanner incase this might be interfering but still the issue occurred.

Does anyone have any idea as to what is causing the Java Security Configuration Assistant to hang ?

    Thanks,
    Ed.

    Hi,
To get round this issue, I deleted the following registry key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\PendingFileRenameOperations
Re-running TFS readiness check then worked.
    Hope that helps.

IME version 7.2.6 loads and displays the IPS integrated ASA5515X software modules.

All screens are accessible but selecting the "configuration" icon just hangs with spinning hour glass and "Loading Configuration" for several minutes and eventually times out. (Also from ASDM/IDM it also sits there and never loads the configuration.)

Tried new install and latest java.

    Thanks

I think it is not an issue with IME or system Java settings but ASA. IME is trying to pull configuration from ASA but ASA is not responding on same.  Have you tried rebooting the ASA?

It appears that the kernel just hangs when I try to run it and I have no idea why. PetaLinux generates the "BOOT.BIN" file as well as "image.ub" and I put both of them on the SD card and make sure the ZedBoard jumpers reflect booting from the SD card. Do I need to put any other files on the SD card? I know the FSBL and bitstream loads correctly because my design turns one of the board LEDs on, but beyond that I don't know where to look.

    Hi all,

I have a G4 with 10.2.x that runs great on its own, but I tried to upgrade to 10.3 over the past few days and it just hangs at verifying the disk for hours, whether I try to upgrade the existing OS or move the old one and install a new copy. I've even left it overnight only to find it still there the next morning. Yesterday, I tried twice to repair the disk and it just hangs there for hours (again overnight) with the progress bar filled but just never completing. I still hear disk activity, but clearly something is (or isn't) going on. What to try next? TIA

DB:2.59:10.3 Upgrade And Disk Repair Hang f1

Am having very similar problem, upgrading from 10.2 to Panther.
Need to upgrade because of iLife 05 requirements.

I get an error message during the install, while the program is checking the volume, the installation quits.
I ran disk utilities, it found problems and fixed them.
Then I ran the install again, but it quits with the same error message.

Tried running archive and install, same problem. Tried running the disk utilities from the 10.3 disk; it found problems it couldn't fix.
(not appropriate to use 10.3 disk utilities on 10.2?)

Is the only fix a clean install?

I have recently bought a WRT54G2 router for my HP Pavilion p6120 desktop computer. The computer had been connected to the internet previously with a DSL modem (a sprint 645 series). I attempted to install the router with the CD(or DVD I didn't look) and my computer told me there was an 'error defining dialog.' In order to rectify this problem, I downloaded the software off the Linksys website. I ran the setup, and all went well until the Configuration step. As it was 'verifying router configuration' another error dialog box appeared, claiming that I had to stop due to an internal error. How can I solve this problem? Thanks a lot, and if you need more information, just ask!

Do not run the setup CD of the router. You can configure the router manually.

DB:2.57:Itunes Recognises Iphone Remote, But Not Ipod Touch sa

I've been trying to get my wife's 2nd Gen iPod Touch to verify passcode with her new (at Christmas) 15" MacBook Pro with no luck. Like Squatlino, I called Support and spoke with a Product Specialist. After about an hour on the phone with him he told me they can not provide troubleshooting for apps from the App Store. I felt like saying, "Are you kidding; not even support for your own app?" but I kept my mouth shut.

Our setup is an iMac on a wired connection, and the MacBook Pro is on WiFi, but the really strange thing is I was able to verify passcode with my iMac in WiFi and my 1st Gen iPod Touch will verify passcode on both Macs.

Is there something different with the wireless setup in the 2nd Gen iPod Touch that is interfering with the verifying process on MacBook Pros?

    DB:2.56:Xp Clean Install Hangs fa

    Hi lbrother11,
Do you have any external devices connected to your computer?

    Step 1:

If you have any external devices connected except keyboard and mouse, unplug them and check if the installation finishes.
    Step 2:
If the issue still persists, format the hard disk and then try to install windows xp.
Make sure that you back up all your important data before you continue. When you format a hard disk, all the data on that partition is permanently deleted.
Refer Step 2 in the below link to know about how to format the hard disk and install Windows XP:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/313348
(Make sure you don’t select the option the one which says Quick).

Is there some setting I need to change to get the dynamic ip to work vs the static ipor will it just not work with a dynamic ip?

The WRT has various VPN pass through options like these. Try to disable all these options, i.e. do not enable VPN passthrough. This should block the raw security protocols and force encapsulation which may go nicer through the WRT with NAT.

Do you know if there is any way to get the remote app to work?

I was having the same issue. I installed wireshark, and sniffed the ethernet connection on the system running itunes. You must make sure the subnet of the iPhone and that of the host running itunes are the same. Basically the iphone remote protocol does not seem to be routable, and is sensitive to NAT. HTH

I think this is my first post on any forum ever so please excuse the noobness.
Sorry i just saw there was another section in the forum for setup and configuration. Not sure how to move the post and i dont want to double post. I apologize.

Hello, This issue is very, very frustrating .For the past several hours I have been trying to update this device. First off, when trying to update it gave me the 3014 error. I know what that means. It means I've tried to hack into the phone, which I have not. Eventually I progressed passed that part after taking the phone of the USB chord about a million times, it got to the verifying update bar in iTunes and gave me the 3014 error. After that, the phone became useless. It now just displays the 'Connect to iTunes' graphic. I do that and half the time it just tells me it can't connect to the update server. Finally, I managed to get it passed the verifying part and into the install part. It gets to about 75% and just hangs and gives me the 3014 error again. I had no choice but unplug the phone. It's really a guessing game to see whether I will get passed certain parts to update the phone. Really not happy with this service. Disappointed to say the least. And please, do not direct me to restore pages and other Apple made support pages. I've done all that reading and it hasn't helped a bit.

DB:2.55:Patchadd Hangs During Capacity Check 1k

I'm having a difficult time trying to patch a Solaris 10 VM (x86, update 7). Trying to install a single patch from the Update 9 patch bundle, I'm doing the following:

    bash-3.00# patchadd /tmp/patches/119255-76

    lots of stuff

Verifying sufficient filesystem capacity (dry run method)

And it basically just stops there. I've left it running overnight last night. The root partition is at ~82% capacity, the /tmp partition is ~1% (swap partition). TMPDIR=/tmp.

I don't know what else to try and I'm not familiar enough with solaris to know any tricks. This is a VM and I've taken a snapshot before doing any patching so I'm not opposed to trying something risky if anyone has any ideas.

Well, thanks for any info at all or any tips :)

DB:2.55:Patchadd Hangs During Capacity Check 1k

It turns out that, if I use pkgadd it also hangs. Both patchadd and pkgadd will hang and, using truss, it appears they're both sleeping waiting on an event. I haven't dug in deep enough to figure out what event. I'm wondering if there are any "brute force" mechanisms I can use to get these patches applied to this system (?) Like I said, I've snapshotted it and it's not a critical machine, I just need to have this machine upgraded. Thanks for any info.

DB:2.54:Performing Targets Discovery And Agent Configuration --- Hangs kf

    Hello,
I'm running Grid Control 10.2.0.4 on windows2003 server. I have installed the agent on a number of systems with no problem.

BUT, on one server the install seems to HANG during the:
"Performing targets discovery and agent configuration" step.

below is the last entry in my log file. So a couple questions:
    1. Any ideas what is going on?
    2. If I cancel it the install, can I restart it manually (agentca -d ???)
    3. What logs should I look at.

I have tried installing it on this server several times with no luck. I also had problems upgrading from DB 10.2.0.1 to 10.2.0.3. The DBUA would say "thinks this is a Rerun operation" and recommend I remove some file that doesn't exist (but this is a seperate issue, just included it FYI).

DB:2.53:Installation Problem - Verifying Dmi Pool....Update Success Hang af

    Hello,
My PC is an ACER L5100 which came pre-installed with Windows Vista Home Premium. I decided to upgrade to Windows 7, so formatted the drive and proceeded with a fresh the installation. I carried out a number of Windows 7 installs in the past, so know what
    the process is.
The installation appears to fully complete, but on first boot up the computer hangs at "Verifying DMI pool...update success". I've carried out the install twice more, but still the same result. I have searched on the internet and have found that this is
a common problem that may be related to the BIOS. However, rather the opening up the PC and trying to clear the CMOS, I decided to see is installing Ubuntu would exhibit the same problem. On a fresh install, it didn't! The "Verifying DMI pool....update success"
bit did not cause the computer to hang and I was able to get into Ubuntu just fine.

To me, this indicates there is something wrong with the way Windows 7 is booting rather then a BIOS/hardware problem. If anyone knows what, then I would appreciate hearing from you. I'm sure that if I use the Vista recovery CDs that came with the PC, then
it will boot just fine into Vista (something I will try tonight).

    Thanks

(incidentally I ran the upgradeadvisor when the PC was using Vista and it passed just fine)

But the installer hangs on Administrator details page - step 5, after verifying that all other system's parameters are fine!

I checked few times that I enter valid Administrator username and password.

What could be the problem, and how do I get over this step, please?

My girlfriends Powerbook, an 800 mhz Ti book with Tiger, recently developed a problem where the blue bar fully loads at the start up screen but then it just hangs there and does nothing. This happened right after she was having problems with a program (msn messenger) and decided to restart. We have tried to safe start it, which didnt work. Then we tried verifying and repairing permissions, which also didnt change anything. Finally we tried to archive and install but got an error during the install process saying she had to start over. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

    Hi @Reverso

Welcome to the HP Forums! I see that you were having a BIOS problem and are looking to make sure that everything is working okay. You can test your operating system for corruptions using the System File Checker Tool. There are built in UEFI Diagnostic Tools that you can test the hardware for problems.
