DB:3.17:Sharepoint Errors After Upgrading To Tfs 2012 cd

Hi I really need help fixing a SharePoint issue that is apparently caused by my upgrade to TFS 2012.
I have a TFS 2010 instance all set and still running. My upgrade to TFS 2012 is just a test at this point. I followed the
Upgrade TFS and Move to New Hardware instructions. Now my users who are accessing SharePoint portal for TFS 2010 are reporting errors that they're not authorized to access TFS. The URL
it's reporting is the TFS 2012 application server.
Why did the upgrade go ahead and upgrade my sharepoint content? How do I undo this and redirect these sharepoint sites back to their appropriate TFS server? When I try to Repair Connection from the application tier server I get the following
    error on each project:

Alas it was a hardware migration based upgrade and for various reasons we couldn't just clone the environment, we needed to start with a fresh config file and attach only select collections from 2010 to the new 2012 instance. We manually reconnected
all of them as far as SharePoint, it just took a while. Thanks!

Setting this up for the first time and running into an issue trying to login to the WebAccess URL. The error I get is An unexpected error occurred during the sign-in process. Try signing in again or contact your system administrator.
Installed PSWA using all the defaults, including a test certificate.
All Firewalls are off. All PowerShell commands were done as Administrator, and I am a member of the Domain Administrators group (which is in the Administrators group on the Server). Remoting is enabled on all servers I have tried (all are Windows
2012 servers) including the PSWA Server itself.
Here are the commands I ran to create the sessions and the authorization rules. All the Test Cmdlets seem to run fine as they return no errors.

As some further testing I added a security group called Infrastructure Team that I am part of (and added this group to local admins on server) and I get the same error. I also added Domain Admins to these permissions and still get the same
    error.
I then registered these PSWA Authorization Rules:

After smashing my face against this for a while I finally got the bright idea to maybe see if there was a PowerShell Web Access event log. Which there is, under Application and Services Logs, Microsoft, Windows, PowerShell Web Access.

I have a customized work item template that is shared across multiple team projects. To facilitate this, the template is the same but uses conditions to determine what project list to show. For example:
    FIELD refname=Project name=Project type=String
    WHEN field=System.TeamProject value=Team A
    ALLOWEDVALUES
    GLOBALLIST name=Team A Projects /
    /ALLOWEDVALUES
    /WHEN
    WHEN field=System.TeamProject value=Team B
    ALLOWEDVALUES
    GLOBALLIST name=Team B Projects /
    /ALLOWEDVALUES
    /WHEN
    /FIELD

This has worked great in both Web Access and Visual Studio.
We upgraded to TFS 2012 last night, and this no longer works in Web Access. If I pull up the work item in Visual Studio, the project list shows correctly based on my current team project. If I pull up the work item in Web Access, the project
list is empty. This happens even if I have a single WHEN condition, so it seems like the team project value is not being evaluted properly but only when using Web Access.

    Hello Everybody,
I'm having a problem accessing Team Foundation Server 2012 from the Team Explorer tab of Visual Studio 2012.
I'm not very used to TFS, and I performed the basic single server installation (it runs on Windows Server 2008 R2, using SQL Server 2008 R2 and SharePoint Foundation 2010). Using the administrator account with which I installed TFS, in the team explorer
tab of vs 2012, i cannot acces the following areas:
    Under Team Project:
    security settings,
    group membership,
    work item's areas,
    work item's iterations,
    project notification.
Also, under Team Project Collections, I cannot access:
    Security settings,
Group membership. (I don't know if the name are correct, I'm translating from my italian version).
    The error I receive is:

    Team Foundation Error
Error during accessing: user name unknown or invalid password
    (from the italian version
    Errore Team Foundation
Errore durante l'accesso, nome utente sconosciuto o password non valida).

Obviously, the password IS valid, because I used that password to connect to TFS and view the team projects (in fact, they are listed in team explorer); also, if I connect from web access, then I CAN change the security settings.
Has someone an idea of what is happening? Did i miss doing something (i followed the tutorial for the installation of TFS 2012, and everthing went good)?

DB:2.90:Web Access Home Display Issue zz

I am having issues where my install of TFS is showing the Home page for the Web Access portal such that there is no template being used.
This is almost exactly what was discussed in the forum post:
TFS 2012 - Web Access Display Problem
One major difference is how the system was installed. I installed Team Foundation Server 2012 Update 3 using Advanced but on a single server. (I followed the Administering Visual Studio TFS 2012 Jump Starton MVA.) I opted out of installing
SharePoint because I was planning on leveraging an already existing install. After TFS successfully installed, and I was able to connect from Visual Studio and the Web Access homepage worked great.
I was denied access to our existing SharePoint environment, so I decided to use a standalone SharePoint install provided by the TFS Server installer, titled Configure Extensions for SharePoint Products. I installed it on the same server.
It was at this point that my Web Access homepage broke.
I have attempted many of the ideas put out in the TFS 2012 - Web Access Display Problem posting, but to no avail.
Can someone please help me figure this out?

DB:2.90:Web Access Home Display Issue zz

Great response, it helped me go through a few troubleshooting steps.
Unfortunately it didn't solve my issue. I removed Extensions for SharePoint Products, that didn't fix the home page issue. I attempted to reconfigure it back, but it failed in the prechecks. It is saying my ownprofile has to have
stsadm.exe run on it to update the credentials for the server farm.
NOTE: I used my own credentials to setup SharePoint initially because I didn't want to ask our helpdesk for a service account. The reason is because I was told I had a month to usethe server. Could this be the cause for my errors?
There is no apparent way for me to changethe account SharePoint uses from the TFS Configuration Center nor the Administration Consol.
At this point, it will prolly be easier for me to reimage the server and try again. Unless someone has any other tips, that is what I'll do. Thanks for everyone who supported me.

    Thanks,
    Billy

DB:2.85:Need Help On Tfs Migration xf

    Hi,
We have just migrated to TFS 2012 from TFS 2010. I was expecting some new feature and some new functionality around added around MTM and VSTS2012.
I tried to explore Open in web access link which is present in MTM for the web based Test case management but got an error which says
    Error
TFS400409: You do not have licensing rights to access this feature:Test case management
I saw similar error when i tried to access Home page of my web TFS which says In order to use all feature of Team web access, you must have the correct license and configuration
Also faced difficulties in accessing the team dash board.
can any one help in understanding these errors and also is this related to some license issue or it is related to some configuration .

    Thanks in advance

DB:2.85:[2012] Cannot Connect To Tfs Server Via Visual Studio 7c

    Hello,
We have a developer who is trying to connect to TFS with Visual Studio 2012. On my machine, I click Team Explorer and Connect. A dialogue pops up with my team project collections, Servers, etc. On this other developer's
machine, clicking Connect doesn't do anything: no pop-up dialogue, no errors, nothing. I even tried accessing TFS via web access and clicking Open new instance of Visual Studio. An instance started up, but - again - it isn't connected
to TFS and I cannot get it to do so.
I've tried re-installing (uninstall/reinstall AND repair) Visual Studio on this machine and re-applying the updates (the updates didn't work, saying basically that we already have a newer version - which doesn't quite make sense to me but I understand that
uninstalling VS doesn't remove the updates so it was expected).
    Windows event logs are clean.
    How do I troubleshoot this?
    Thanks.
P.S. The developer can access the TFS web console, so I don't think it's a permissions thing - but Visual Studio isn't even coming up with the dialogue to connect to TFS, so that seems obvious.

DB:2.85:[2012] Cannot Connect To Tfs Server Via Visual Studio 7c

The developer can access TFS via the web console - view work items, edit work items, start builds, view changesets, etc - but in Visual Studio it's not even getting to the point of connection. The dialogue that pops up wherein you can set up
a connection to a TFS server doesn't even pop up.

We are evaluating TFS 2012 and are experiencing a strange behavior for TFS 2012 web access. TFS web access work item queries are timing out in cross domain and different network setings. Work item queries work fine on TFS app tier web server. TFS app tier
and data tier are on the same box for testing reasons. To simplify the troubleshootingwe are using standard service accounts etc.
Here are observations: Client: After some time client receives Ajax timeout error App Tier/Data Tier: IIS logs 500 0 64 exception
Data Tier: TFS logs record client disconnected exception
TF400733: The request has been canceled: Client disconnected. RequestCanceledException
This issue is pending for quiet a few weeks. All the other parts of TFS 2012 web access work fine. Team explorer is also wroking fine.
If we try TFS web access from the web server itself then there is ino issue.
    Please share your thoughts.

this is causing me a big headache at the moment as I'm installing TFS at the client and they are refusing (quite rightly) to deploy into production until this is is solved. I'm taking your advice and looking at the network.

Weneed to easily get the AreaID value, for each Team that we create under a Team Project.
Can u please specify a simple recommended way to get it ?
We can create a dummy work item, associate with the Area of the Team, and then run a Query in TFS web-access that shows the Area and its AreaID value within the result. But this is somewhat crude since it require dummy work items, which need to be deleted

    Hi there,

I have recently upgraded Team Foundation Server from TFS 2010 to TFS 2012. The up-gradation was successful without any errors. But when our team started working on TFS 2012, we found that the file use to get corrupted when they check in and check out the file
or when we get try to get the latest version of the files.

We have got the following error as:-

{SystemDriver}\BuildNumber\BuildNumber.inc: The downloaded file is corrupt. Please get the file again

Some of the BuildProcessTemplates where also corrupted whenever a new team project was created.

{SystemDriver}\Hello World\BuildProcessTemplates\DefaultTemplate.11.1.xaml: The downloaded file is corrupt. Please get the file again.
Also, some developers found that during shelve or unshelve the file also gets corrupted.

However, the web access shows the correct information. During the upgradation the backup of the database was also fine.

I want to solve this issue as soon as possible as this is a critical issue and developers are down because of this issue.

    Waiting for your reply.

    Hey,
I fixed this issue. from the internet search i found that you need to delete the previous existing cache on the server, build server as well as on the client machine.
By clearing the cache, there is no more file corruption during checkin an check out and because of this the TFS Build service is also running fine.
To clear cache on the server side

I am TFS admin and I am running TFS 2012 update 3. I have one Team Project repository showing different results depending on if I view it in VS 2012 or VS 2013. VS 2012 showed three folders and VS 2013 showed two.

Another user mentioned the problem to me so to start, I didn't have this folder mapped in either VS 2012 or 2013. In VS 2012, I saw three folders. In VS 2013 I only saw two. TFS web Access showed three folders.

I mapped a path in 2012 and deleted two of the three folders and checked in the change. 2012 and web access now show only one folder. But in VS 2013, I still see two folders even after refreshing and closing and reopening VS 2013.

    Hola mikent,

El filter pack solo se necesita para el rol de mailbox
y hub, al igual que Web services solo se necesita para el
    CAS.

When I check the link it says http://xxxxxx/sites/xxxxxxx/xxxxxx/_layouts/tfsredirect.aspx?tf%3aType=WebAccess.

I suspect the tfsredirect.aspx is not redirecting to the new site and still pointing to the old site. any idea why this might be happening?

DB:2.73:Web Url For Scom 2012 Dashboard Without Webconsole Install Or Sharepoint as

Hi team,is it possible to configure SCOM 2012 to have some URLs toshow my dashboard without havingto install web console to multiple users pc and without sharepoint? I created some dashboards , prefer to let users to access their own dashboard just by
clicking a URL from their PC,without remote desk,or installation of any web console, so the management can view it easier. any advice? thanks Thanks and best regards, -- KFThanks and best regards, -- KF

DB:2.73:Web Url For Scom 2012 Dashboard Without Webconsole Install Or Sharepoint as

Hi KungFu, the webconsole is always a central component. all web based things are. the client just connects to it and has to conform to minimal requirements for each type of web console. in the case of SCOM 2012 this is SIlverlight on the client side. But
still need to install the scom web console centrally. Also sharepoint is not something you install on client side, but on server side. Only the full SCOM console is something which would be deployed to a client or made available through remote desktop services
    for instance.
    Good luck mate.

DB:2.72:Http 403 Forbidden Error When Trying To Create New Work Item 7x

    Hi all,
All TFSusers, including project and collection administrators receive this error when they try to access or create Work Items from Web Access site.
It is relevant only for SharePoint part of web access:
    http://tfs/sites/Defaultcollection/....
Native TFS part works as appropriate: http://tfs:8080/tfs/web/...
When I enter that site and do the same action with my magic user I see in Windows Log Viewer:

Microsoft Visual Studio Team Web Access started processing...
    and after 20-40 min:
Microsoft Visual Studio Team Web Access stopped processing...
And till the end of day all errors are gone for all users.
My user has no extra superuser permissions compared to other administrators.

DB:2.72:Cannot Access Documents In Team Explorer When Not Logged On As Tfssetup k1

I have the Beta 3 Refresh of TFS installed. I logged in as TFSSETUP and created a new Team Project (AdventureWorks). In addition, I added my personal id to the admin groups in the Team Foundation Server Security Group and Windows SharePoint Services Role. In the server/reports server, I added BUILTIN\Users to the Properties\Security (this was not enabled by default and thus everyone other than server administrators received security errors for the project portal web parts... which was not well documented, btw)
When I connect in Team Explorer as TFSSETUP and access the Adventureworks Team Project, everything is fine. However, when I log in using my personal ID I get a red X in the Documents folder and am not able to access any of the documents.
I am at a loss as to why this is happening.

DB:2.72:Cannot Access Documents In Team Explorer When Not Logged On As Tfssetup k1

Phew! I found the solution to my problem here: http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=96391SiteID=1
there were some records missing in the tbl_Service_Interfaces table in the TfsIntegration database that were causing this situation. I copied the missing records from another TFS and now my Team Project is working fine.
    Best regards.

So I have successfully set up tfs with sharepoint and everything. I got a team project going but when i try to go to the team project site on sharepoint (http://compName/tfs01/projectcollection/teamproject) there are a bunch of errors all over the place
that say Access to path C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Team Foundation\Web Access\Cache_v10.0.30319\1484935979 is denied. I used that same domain login to set everything up. I am pretty sure that I added admin rights everywhere that was needed but apparently not.
Also the folder Cache_v10.0.30319 doesn't exist.

    Hi All,

I'm new to TFS and i have just migrated TFS 2008 from single to dual server and also upgraded data tier from SQL 2005 to 2008 64 bit.
Every thing looks good. When i tried to login from TFS web access , old users works fine BUT the moment i created a new project and added users in that project , the new users are unable to login via TFS web access.

It throws 'Unable to create WorkItemStore see inner exception for details.'. Still old users can login and every thing is smooth for them.
Have already checked for NETWORK account change permission for app_code and cache folder , new files are being created fine.
Can't even see 'Attempted to read or write protected memory'

    Where to look for more?
    Please help.

To do Code reviews and other like activities you will need a TFS CAL installed on the PC you use to access from the web. Without the CAL you can only access work items (and only to create new work items or view work items you created).

are perfectly fine creating/updating work items in team web access using IE 8. Is there a setting in IE 8 that may be causing this issue for some and not others? Thanks

Hello. In TFS 2010 Team Web Access, users had the option to export to Excel or Outlook directly from the Team Web Access query results web page. Now, in TFS 2012 to get results into Excel, they need to import using the Team tab in Excel, but
how do you get results from Team Web Access into an Outlook email if you are not a Visual Studio user (other than having to export to Excel and copy the results into an email)?

    Hi Alex,
    Thank you for your post.
There is a big change between TFS 2012 web access and TFS 2010 web access. In TFS 2012, web access does not include report work item query result function. I suggest you submit a feedback to Visual Studio UserVoice site (http://visualstudio.uservoice.com/forums/121579-visual-studio).

DB:2.70:Error When Trying To Build A Screen Template In Vs 2012 md

We confirmed that this is an issue with Update 2 as we ran into the exact same scenario on two completely separate development environments in different organizations.

The commonality is both development environments had either CTP1 or Update 2 installed.
It does appear that there is a misalignment within the LightSwitch Extension Toolkit and or the Visual Studio SDK such that the extension project(s) are laying down as .Net 4.0 and which will compile without concern that is of course until one adds a Screen
Template to the extension project which adds .Net 4.5 assemblies to the design project.

The good news is that there is a simple work-around, which is to change all 4.0 projects to 4.5. The Package project will complain when you try to do this in advance of a Solution clean, so run clean first then it will let you alter from 4.0 to 4.5.

After this you will find that you can build, install and run the extension. We noted that there was some downstream warnings as a result of the Server project in the LS application complaining of similar misalignments so likely needs a wee bit more
    tweaking.
I suspect that MS needs to resolve this with an updated LightSwitch Extension Toolkit.
    Cheers

    Hi,
I am experiencing a BPA critical error following a testupgrade of SQL Server 2008 to SQL Server 2008 R2 to prepare our TFS 2010 installion for a 2012 upgrade (pre-req). The error is 'Cannot access Analysis Services'
Prior to the upgrade I ran BPA and only had warnings, one of which was that the service account I was running BPA under wasn't an Analysis Services administrator.
I therefore proceeded with the upgradeusing the same account I ran the BPA scan withand the upgradewas reported as successful. The upgrade actually added the service account to the SSAS server admins group.
Having rerun BPA after the upgrade I am now getting the Critical Error even though the account is in the SSAS server admins group. No errors appear in the run-time log.
The cube seems to be functioning Ok. I am concerned the upgrade has 'broken' something which may manifest at a later date or prevent TFS from being upgraded.

    Thanks in advance

DB:2.70:Is It Possible To Find File In Team Web Access sc

    Hello volody,
    Thanks for your post.
For your issue I feel a little confused, it is better if you can provide me more information: Do you mean you want to find all the .bat files
in the TFS version control on the TFS web access? And what version of TFS are you using? I suspect you are using TFS2010.
If so, as far as I know there is no method or option is available for you to find the *.bat on the TFS web access. However, you can use the
tf dir command to find all the .bat files for you:
1). Open one command prompt and navigate to your local workspace, D:\workspace for example.

2). Execute the command line: tf dir /collection:http://serverName:8080/tfs/TeamProjectCollectionName $/TeamProjectName/*.bat /r
In addition, if you have installed

TFS2010 power tool, you can also have the Find In Source Control menu in the Source Control Explorer. You can specify the appropriate wildcard to get the .bat files.

I recently installed Visual Studio 2012 (RTM) and a project collection is missing from the Team Project Collections list in the Connect to Team Foundation Server

Services sites all work fine. I have run Best Practices Analyzer and did not see anything that stood out although it contained a lot of information and I could have overlooked something. We are running TFS 2010 which was upgraded from TFS 2008. I am a Team

Any help would be much appreciated.

I have resolved the issue. After having someone else verify they could see the collection after installing VS 2012 that was missing from my list I started trying different things. Deleting my workspaces from the server and local cache. Adding myself directly
to the collection administrators group rather than relying on my Team Foundation Server administrator access. None of these helped. Then on a whim I expanded the window containing the collection list even though there was no scrollbar and there was the missing
collection. I had someone else verify the same behavior in VS 2012 ontheirmachine and they to could shrink the window down hiding collections with no scrollbar. Thank you all for your help.

    Hi Joe,

Are you by any chance trying to install the 2005 version of TSWA (or older)? Only the 2008 version will work with Team Explorer 2008.

You can find the 2008 RTM version of TSWA here:
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=C568FBA9-3A62-4781-83C6-FDFE79750207displaylang=en

And a CTP version of the 2008 SP1 version of TSWA is here:

    DB:2.68:Iscsiprt Errors 9, 39 And 129 On Windows Server 2012 R2 Hyper-V Hosts zz

    Hi,

Were migrating from Vmware to Microsoft Hyper-V 2012 R2. Were going to set up a 4 node cluster and have set up a cluster shared volume for storage. At the moment we have 3 nodes up and running. Originally we planned to team our SAN-nics but after reading several white papers and browsing several web sites, we changed our plan and landed on using two SAN-nics, each with its own IP.

Weve created two virtual SAN switches in Hyper-V for fault tolerance.

The VMs are a mix of Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows 2008, Windows 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012 R2 and Windows 7, with roles such as IIS, File Cluster Services, App servers and DB servers.

Were now experiencing that the VMs freeze in the middle of an operation and our users are starting to complain about these freezes and system halts. Users are accessing resources through our Citrix farm.

In the event viewer on our Hyper-V hosts we get a lot of iscsiprt errors and we suspect these errors have something to do with our problems.

Weve not been able to find any suitable solution googling the errors we receive. Were not sure who to address this issue to. Is it Microsoft or is it Dell?

    Hardware:

    Dell M100e Chassis

    Pass-through module

    Dell PowerEdge M710HD

    192GB memory

    2x146GB

    2xIntel Xeon E5645

    6Broadcom BCM5709Snics

    Dell PowerConnect 6248

Jumbo frames is not enabled on the servers with access to our SAN. SAN traffic is on a separate LAN not accessible through our firewall.

    3xEquallogic PS5000X

    1xEquallogic PS6000

    1xEquallogic PS6100

    Firmware is 6.0.4

The logout messages mean a connection is being balanced to another physical port on an array to maintain even performance. Another reason to upgrade in older firmware, the HIT or MEM module would conflict with the Network Load Balancer on the group. Causing more frequest balance messages.

The 6.x broadcom firmware tended to be more problematic, upgrading to the current 7.x would be recommended.

DB:2.68:Object Reference Not Set To An Instance Of An Object Error When Upgrading 2010 Lab To 2012 13

The base problem is two-fold though I think they're related:

When our testers try and create a new environment in MTM they get object reference not set to an instance of an objectWhen I try and runC:\Program Files\Visual Studio Team Foundation Server 2011\bin\tools tfsconfig lab /upgradeSCVMM /collectionName:*
I get An unexpected failure occurred while upgrading the SCVMM resources. More details: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. Resolve any errors and try the operation again.
I pasted at the end of the post the output from a fully verbose MTM session log and from the windows error log when MTM was run and saw the error. I also pasted the log file from the tfsconfig command.
    Here's the pre-upgrade setup:

TFS 2010, upgraded from 2008, which was upgraded from 2005SQL Server 2008 R2 using the same server as TFSLab Management on the same server as TFS, first used in TFS 2010A custom process template based on the 2005 Agile template, unmodified since. SCVMM 2010 on it's own server
    I upgraded the following:

TFS was upgraded to 2012 using its same serverSystem Center 2010 on the TFS server was uninstalled and 2012 was installedSCVMM was upgraded to 2012 using its same server
If I go into Team Foundation Server Administration Console everything appears to be working fine. The library shares and host groups are added and verify and I can reconfigure the Lab Management SCVMM server with passed verification.
In the windows error log there are references to the web service so I verified that I can accesshttp://tfs:8080/tfs/DesktopSoftware/Lab/v4.0/LabService.asmx from a different machine without any issues.
I mentioned we were running an old process template. I had to make some process template modifications for some of our team projects so they could use the new tfs web access. We still have some team projects that do not have the appropriate modifications
though. I ran through all ofhttp://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff452591(VS.100).aspx for the team project we use for MTM but we still get the error. We created a brand new team project based off of the CMMI 6 template and we had no issues
    creating environments.
Can anyone shed some light on what's going on?

    DB:2.67:Tfs Access - Unauthorized Access f1

    Hello Dear People,
I am at my wits end. I have installed Team Foundation Server 2013 (I followed the Install guide)on a server with Microsoft SQLServer 2012. The both are installed on the same machine (for now). The network currently uses a WORKGROUP.
Currently, on the server I am able to access TFS (http://servername:8080/tfs) on the server through Team Web Access portal and Visual Studio 2013. But I can not connect using a client (Team Web Portal, VS 2013)
I have mirrored the credentials on the server with the ones on the client, and added the user to the TFS Administrators group

    server: server-name\tfsuserclient: client-pc-name\tfsuser
but this does not fix the problem. I have also elevated the user to Full Access to the web portal.
Any information about the next place to investigate would be much appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Andrew

could you try to turnoff the firewall and see if you get a different result ? try both Team Web Access and Visual Studio

    Hi,

Since today morning my web server isn't working. My firmware is up to date(1.5.0).

I try to reboot it and i use the firmware upgrade process. I turn the web server on and off many times.

Actually, there's only 3 persons using the webserver  and i don't use any mysql database. I only use a simple web pdf creator  on the web server for creating quotation.

    Arnaud,

I am glad that worked out for you.  For any firmware/software related issue, you can use QNAP forum for answer. For hardware/chassis, you have 5 years warranty from Cisco counted on the date you purchased. So you are in the win-win situation.

    Thank you for your business!!

Tarun's answer is correct I am sure for myself I didnt have to change anything. Web access was rendered in English even though it was coming from a German server. I didnt know it would do this before I installed it. So everything was fine to begin with.
However installing Team Explorer and powertools to the german server always came down in German even though the Server was set to English localization. Thanks Tarun!

DB:2.66:Tfs 2012 Add Project Manager To Web Access mz

    Hi Andy,

TFS has different level permissions, each level permission means different access permssion of different resource.
What operations you want project mannger do, you can think the question through following angles: create work items, create team project, edit project level information, create build and so on. So i suggest you first read through the article
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms252587(v=vs.110).aspx, then deside what permission you want to allow for project manager, what permission you want to deny for project

In order to resolve this issue, I want to confirm some information with you:
    1
Use the current account connect to TFS and update Work Items in VS, does that work fine or receive the same error?
    2
Reproduce the scenario(the current account connect to TFS by Web Access) on another client, still received this error?

Try to clean the Cache folder on Server machine, find the Cache folder under current Web Access user and clean it.
After cleaned, on Server machine, click Start and select

Deploy To Dev - deploys to just fine it deploy's to a Windows 2003 box with IIS 6. (Under build process the Build Arguments are: /p:DeployOnBuild=true /p:PublishProfile=DeployToDev /p:VisualStudioVersion=11.0 /p:username=Domain\user p:password=password)
    This works fine.
Deploy to Live - This build definition is setup similar as the deploy to dev just different file share running Windows 2008 R2 and IIS 7.5 with IIS Shared Configuration. The share is located on a file server UNC path. (Under build process the Build Arguments
are: /p:DeployOnBuild=true /p:PublishProfile=DeployToLive /p:VisualStudioVersion=11.0 /p:username=Domain\user p:password=password) This one errors out and no clue why besides the error it gives back, but the user account being used has the service accounts
and build process has full write access.
Could it be an issue with IISShared Configuration? This is the error I get.

DB:2.65:Error On Build Within Visual Studio Build Definition jz

    Hi Ryan,
We got the error message: Unable to perform the operation (Create Directory) for the specified directory This can occur if the server administrator has not authorized this operation for the user credentials you are using.
So please clarify whetheryou have the authority to access the Server. Have you added the user into the Administrator group?

    Please do following:

Create a separate user group MSDepSvcUsers on remote computer.Create an local account A on both local remote computer.Add A to MSDepSvcUsers on remote computer.Use account A to publish, this will allow you to publish without needing to use built-in admin account.

DB:2.65:How To Create A Team Project Via The Web Access Interface c8

I recently registered at https://tfs.visualstudio.com/ to test the new features of TFS 11. When i connect to this project via the Team Explorer 2012 and clicked New Team Project the TE opens the web interface where i can create new team projects.
After i installed TFS for my own, i can't find any possibility to create team projects via the web access, so i wonder, how this could be achieved, since i searched the web but did not find any useful resources.
    Regards,
    Andreas

    Hi Andreas,

    Thanks for your post.

As Alin said, for TFS 2012 Server, you need to new team project using Team Explorer, as far as I know there’s no web interface for us to new team project in Web in TFS 2012 Server. The Web interface applies to new team project
in TFS Service. John Qiao [MSFT]

DB:2.65:Team Web Access 2012 - Licensing For Full Access 8c

    Hi,
We develop software using Java and we are using TFS 2012 to manage our development. We use only Visual Studio 2012 Everywhere andwe do have Team Foundation Server CALs for our users. We want to use the Sprint planning tools from the Team Web Access.
My understanding is that I need to buy at least Visual Studio Test Professional to use these features even if I will not use this Visual Studio edition.
    Is my understanding correct?

DB:2.65:Sharepoint Integration With Sharepoint Server 2013 While Upgrading Tfs2010 To Tfs2013 sj

    Dear All
I have upgraded our TFS from version 2010 to 2013. I am mentioning details below about to upgrade TFS2010 and also mentioned my problem.
    Server Preparation Steps:

Install IIS and SQL Server 2012 - SP1 on Window Server 2008 R2Install SharePoint Server 2013 and configure default settingsRestore Backups of TFS2010 databases(TFS_DefaultCollection, TFS_Configuration and TFS_Warehouse) on SQL Server2012Install TFS2013 and Click on Upgrade option in Team Foundation Server Upgrade Console windowTFS2013 is successfully upgraded from TFS2010 and all team projects are visible with source control and history. Means all data is viewable in TFS2013 and migration completed from TFS2010.
Now I want to configure all team projects with SharePoint Server2013. Here I would like to tell you that in our TFS2010, we are using SharePoint service instead of server and it was configured on another machine. Now I don't want to use that SharePoint services
with TFS 2013. I want to use SharePoint Server 2013 with TFS2013. For SharePoint Server2013 configuration, I have used the following steps.

Open Team Foundation Administration Console and expand Application Tier Node and click on SharePoint Web Applications.Click on Add button and open the SharePoint Web Application Settings Window.Enter the friendly Name, Web Application URL , Central Administration URL, team project collection sites and Click on Verify Path button.SharePoint 2013 site URL successfully configured and click on Ok button. Then I click on Extensions for SharePoint Products and click on Grand access option.
TFS Web Access URL successfully granted.
When I try to access my team project portal through web but I get the error on web page. I am unable to access the team project portal. Then I again go to team foundation server administration console and click on SharePoint Web Applications Node and then
click on Repair Connection option. Repair the connextion to a SharePoint web Application window is open and I click on repair. Then I got the following error log during repair the SharePoint Web Application.

Please anybody know the exact solution with detail steps to configure the SharePoint with TFS2013. Please let me know asap.

    Hi mwaseemalvi,
Based on your description, to resolve this issue, you will need to register a new internal URL for the SharePoint site using Alternate Access Mappings. Please follow these steps:

Log into the SharePoint Central Administration site (a link can be found under Control Panel Administrative Tools)
Click on the “Operations” tab at the top Under “Global Configuration”, choose “Alternate Access Mappings” On the menu bar, select “Add Internal URLs” Choose the web application that hosts your Project Portals (usually Default Web Site)
In the “URL protocol, host and port” text box, enter the alternate URL that can be used to access the Project Portals (must include http:// or
https://). Using the example above, this would be “http://tfsserver.companydomain.com”
    Click Save

If the issue persist, please elaborate mroe details about your scenario. If it's a detailed SharePoint question, you can also open a new thread in SharePoint forum.
