I got a problem with my walkman player.It doesn't detect newly copied songs on my memeory card.

PLs suggest what is to be done??

I'm guessing your on ICS, I got that problem all the time on ICS and never on GB. Anyway download, install and run this app and your SD card will be refreshed so media should be detected. Everytime you get that problem just run the app.

If that does not work then go to the applications section in settings go to all apps and scroll down till you see media storage or media server (something like that), tap it and clear its cache.

If neither of the above solutions work then backup your SD card, format it and then restore the data.

I'm trying to set up my new Walkman and now the player says, "Connected USB (MTP). The player cannot be operated." However, the battery signal is working well. I've already switched the port opening and am definitely using the supplied USB. According to the software manuel, it'll take about three (3) hours (?!) to charge. Could the problem also be the installation you think? If so, it says to use the installer again. Question: If that's the problem, what in the world is the "installer"?

okkk...I finally figured this thing out...at least I think so. After the battery charged up as in "FULL", I decided to see if I can put some songs in. After much bungling and stuff I finally got some songs in. I'm not sure if I did it exactly as it was spelled out but they're in. Some of them were copyrighted and so wouldn't work as normally. I'm not sure if they're on my hard drive or not as, while I am computer savvy I'm no expert as some of you on here are. Anyway, I'm happy to see I've had seven reviews and so thanks to everyone who read it. BUT, if any of you have any suggestions please don't hesitate to let me know.

My Xperia Z Was doing well enough...

I was really disappointed by the Walkman Player...it was working fine till yesterday,i have 500+songs...

So I started arranging everything by adding album art and other stuffs...suddenly i felt volume decreases in walkman player...when i try to switch off clearphase+ off its not working...in Movies app too same thing happening....

I tried restart also no change..what was the problem...

When playing music through the music player in ics the player will stop intermittently after about 30 secs to 1minute .

I'm having a problem syncing my music with Windows Media Player 12 with my Sony Walkman. It prepares to sync, but it stalls. When I right click on properties and click on Media Usage Right is tells the file is not protected.

When I try to transfer my music to my Sony Walkman I get a Windows error C00D1197. Windows Media can't find the file.

Since the Jelly Bean update my Xperia S' Walkman app hijacks the bluetooth audio connection in my car automatically.

As soon as a connection is established it either starts playing whatever last played in Walkman, or it shows the title and artist of the last track on the cars display.

The problem now is that none of my other audio apps (like the audiobook player I purchased) are able to get audio to play on the bluetooth connection.

I tried with the audiobook app "Smart Audiobook Player" and the audio app that comes with ES Explorer.

Walkman is very agressive and doesn't seem to free up the audio connection even if I stop the tracks and exit the application (no play controls in the top message bar).

It didn't do this before the JB update (or the Walkman update in JB), and this is extremely annoying as I can't listen to anything else right now except music in Walkman.

Is there a way to stop Walkman/JB from doing this?

Not a new problem, still the same. I just thought the Walkman app was the cause but it isn't.

It seems to be more general and related to bluetooth.

Another thing I tried today which helped is letting the audio play before enabling the bluetooth connection.

As soon as the connection is established, I do hear the audio through the bluetooth device.

So doing it like that works, even though it's a bit of a hassle.

I'd rather not repair the phone because there is no way to guarantee it'll actually fix the problem. If this keeps bugging me, that might be the only option left though.

sony removed many very important features form walkman player, such as :

01) MEGA BASS or many sound setiings

02) BASS REFLEX

03) repeat (all/one/...) functions

04) walkman kind of sound function in FM/radio

05) walkman buttons : Fwd/stop/pause/next/mute on phone side wall as well as on head phone

06) Sound +/- button with small size...not work when phone is in my pocket..need to make more lagre/upward button...

07) stereo is not so clear..as it was in W series

08) play list options are absent

09) poor head phone design...really problem to wear headphone

10) clip to wear over clothes...

11) track time

12) 3D sound, stereo (in low end phones)

some useless festures in walkman :

01) ablum art

02) media info

03) years/artists/singers/..etc

04) thumbles/album art..

finally after w995, w200,w350..series ...sound quality get poor in walkamn phones..Mix Walkman, Sprio, Yendo all are poorest walkman phone..then w200

in my sony experia j walkman player when i open in first time in daily the equalizer not support.we change the preset they have no effect.again we switch off and on the device it will work perfectly.how to rectify this problem.give me the solution.

my problem is the music folder filter..

i have folder contain mp3 but its for the game and its located on other folder not in music folder...

the walkman player pick all the mp3 files and play the mp3 that not contain in music folder...

is there any solution for this?

Just bought my phone this week and only added 1 album so far. It pauses by itself after about ten mins and I have to press play again. Not a big prob unless I'm driving. Is this supposed to happen?

You should be able to make it repeat.Just tap longer when you listen to a sony and you should get 3 options on the right.

I have recently bought an Experia E partly as Iwas able to add a 16 GB memory card so that I can use it as a Walkman as well as a phone. The problem is that on occasions the player seems to pause for a fraction of a second and then carry on. This seems to happen at random intervals and with different tracks. This is really irritating and makes the device pretty much useless as a 'walkman'. Any ideas?

From what I know, it is not possible to change the skin in the Walkman player for WT13i/Mix Walkman. There might be some 3rd party solution like the one Dr_Chris mentions here above, but I can't guarantee it will work.

How do I update track lists? Even if I delete songs from my phone using PC and USB cable they're still on the list.

I understand you have an issue in synching files using Windows Media Player. However, I need the complete model number of your Walkman for further assistance. You can see the model number on the front, bottom or side of the unit. (e.g., NWZ-S545)

Welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out ourDiscussion guidelines.

This sounds like a read issue from an SD card, if you are using an SD card, simply try removing the SD card from the handset and try reinserting and trying again. If this does not help, try backing up the content and perform a format on the SD card.

Since last few days, I am facing problem with my Walkman application in Sony Live with Walkman model. I bought this phone 6 months back, updated it with Android 4.1 was working fine since then. Now I am facing problem that Walkman application is not synchronizing audio files from my 16GB memory card which I am using it since 4 months. There is no option in application to synchronize songs with memory card. Same problem is even occuring in REAL Player software installed for Audio Video songs. However, I am able to see video songs in MX Player for video songs.

Though I am able to play songs by going through File manager playing it one by one, but same are not visible in Walkman application. I have already removed my memory card 3-4 times, rebooted my phone, cleared application data from Walkman, but no result till now. Somewhere in this site, I saw a suggestion for this problem-
To manage applications:
From the Home screen, tap the Application screens icon.Find and tap Settings Applications Manage applications.Tap the desired application.To uninstall the application, tap Uninstall.To clear data from the application, tap Clear data.To view permissions, scroll down to view Permissions.To clear all cache for an application, tap Clear cache

But option of CLEAR CACHE for Walkman is not active, I cant click on it.

Pls tell me how to get rid of this problem.

If clear data is not active it's most likely due to it has no data to clear.

I suggest that you try to format you SD card and re-transfer all your songs to it to see if the problem still remains. Remember that formatting will delete all data on the SD card.

If the problem still remains after formatting the SD card you might want to try to reinstall the phone software using SUS.

Well, I have my Xperia T for last 2 months. And, beside camera issues, I have one problem I did not find answer anywhere on Internet.

I use to listen music on my Xperia for one and half or two hours daily.

What happenes? Walkman player simply stops playing mp3 and it shuts down showing on widget on homescreen first song I started to listen.

And in 2h listening it happens 3 or 4 times. I'm going crazy!

I tried to Repair, reseting to factory settings - nothing helped! Still have ICS (latest update).

What to do to get my player working properly?

I am using now Poweramp, work perfecly. Bye bye Walkman.

When i'm playing song in background and enter album scroll down walkman player crash.

Another issue, when songs running in background call came walkman player stop but after call end not resume but taskbar shows walkman running but we cant pause or change track.

I have an Xperia Go and my Walkman crashes or just pauses the song everytime I try to use it, it plays a song like for 2 mins or less and then it suddenly stops with the screen on or off, when I press "play" it starts playing again but stops again after a few minutes / seconds :/

in xperia l Walkman 8.1.A.0.3 cannot play songs as folder vise.

Walkman displays and sorts songs based on the ID3-tag in your songs. If you want to browse your music based on folder and files you need to use another music player.

Upgrade to ICS, but I can not open the "walkman", when I click the "walkman" on the screen, it always show "sorry, walkman has stopped operation"?Any has met the same problem? How to solve it ? Thanks.

Where is the playlists for Walkman stored? I used doubletwist to sync my iTunes playlists but it doesn't show up in Walkman. It shows in the doubletwist media player..I'd like yp use the Walkman app. So how do I organize the playlists in xperia using file explorer.?

I've had look at mediago..Seems like there is no wifi sync with mediago.

Moreover i've been using itunes for all my music acorrs all devices iphone, ipad etc..So i would like to sync my xperia it to itunes. With doubletwist, the playlists and music do come across to xperia.

But walkman doesnt see it.

I have a brand new NWZ Z 1050 Walkman.
When I plug it into the USB, Win 7 instantly install it as a USB driver instead of a media player.
I can acces via explorer the device's folders, but the problem is, I can't upgrade my firmware cause the program is looking for a media device on my computer plugged in and there's none !
Nobody at Sony seems to know how to fix this problem.
How can I install my walkman properly as a MTP device ?

Recently i bought sony walkman W273 and i am enjoying the experienceder .

But the problem is with storage, i am unable to keep safe my walkman as there is no case or holder as for the previous walkman W262.

So i need to buy a case or holder where i can keep safe my walkman when i am not using.

Not that familiar with these players as they're not products from Sony Mobile but looking at store.sony.com there's a sleeve calledWMSLV100 that you can buy as accessory.

I just got a sony NWZ-S765 and I tried to load the bundle software but 'setup.exe' does not seem to be present on the Walkman. Any help?

Also when connected to my laptop it shows 'Connected USB (MTP). The player cannot be operated'. Is this a problem?

it always blink and make me can't access the camera, other lock screen shortcut and even can't look what time is it

power button also doesn't respond when the screen is off and i must remove the battery and restart it to access the phone

When is sony planning to upgrade it's waklman output. I've been a great fan of sony hence purchased a sony xperia z with a whopping amount of 38+K in India. But now i'm in a thoughts to purchase any walkman player cause the volume is too low in the mobile. I wanted to know if sony got an customer comments to overcome this problem.

Sony Team, please look into this and help your customers look happy by using the products.

Facing same problem.Many people commented on this topic many times,But nothing happened.I am using top model of Sony Xtra bass series but volume and bass is low on xperia z.Same headphones sound amazing on my PC.

Firstly, you cannot install one phone's music player to another one (without messing with the software which could void your warranty).

Both these phones are Android phones and there's more or less no real difference between the software in them.

ok i solve it but in another way i clear data and i uncheck that box that shows notification for program in setings-applications-i find walkman app-clear data-and uncheck the box

I love the audio quality of the music player on the Xperia. I use my phone as my portable MP3 player. Pretty much why I chose Xperia over S3.

The problem is any activity on my phone causes the Walkman app to stutter.

Question:

The CPU is dual core so it should be able to run the Walkman app without interuption. Is there a way to give the increase the priority of the Walkman app so this happens?
