DB:4.50:Cannot Print To A Lexmark 8350 Connected To An Xp Pc On Network 1x

Hi. I have installed Windows7 on my main PC but have an XP Pro machine on the network that has a Lexmark 8350 Multifunction printer on it. From reading other posts I understand why I am getting the
error 0x000003e3 but still can not seem to find a solution to it. The Lexmark site advises to use Vista driver but this assumes the printer is connected directly to W7 PC as they seem to only provide an application executable (the full suite 42MB)
rather than just the print driver that I would need if I was to set the printer up as a local printer as per some of the other posts and of course when I get to the part of selecting the driver (from Windows Update or have disk) then the printer doesn't
appear in the windows update list as there is no W7 driver. Any ideas welcome. Thanks Fraser

DB:4.50:Cannot Print To A Lexmark 8350 Connected To An Xp Pc On Network 1x

    Hi,

According to your description ,the issue is related to incompatible driver with Windows 7, please contact the Lexmark support for compatible driver.

Which version of your Windows 7, if its Professional, Ultimate or Enterprise, theres a workaround for you. You can install

Windows XP Mode and use the network printer in XP Mode.

DB:4.33:Printer Sharing In Windows7 Not Using Homegroup Erroroperation Failed With Error 0x000003e3 d3

I have quite a few boxes in my home, 4 using Windows 7, one on Vista and the rest on XP :-)

I'm not running a domain, simply a network where we have som NAS disks and so on that is available to the whole network.

I have yet failed to share the printer resources from the windows7 boxes unless I use the homegroup option, however the homegroup options messes with the archive bits on shared files -- my automated backup backs up every file every day instead of teh intended
    incremental backup.

So I have my printer simply setup to be shared, on the box where the printer is attached via USB (as on every other box) network discovery, file and printer sharing etc is enabled.

Trying to attach to the printer from another windows 7 64 bit box says that a printer driver is required and the fails with an error:
Operation failed with error 0x000003e3, unfortunately not very helpful.

I have not installed any driver from HP, this is all using MS native, and I have a hard time beleiveing that the driver exists on on box but not on the other...

If I turn on homegroup it works immediately, of if I connect the printer directly to any other box it starts right up with no drivers required.

But the good old network sharing seems to have some kind of glitch that makes this troublesome for me.

    Greateful for any help !!

    Hi everyone,
I have run out of ideas, so this forum is my last hope.
I already read the following posts, but either it did not fix the problem or it was not reflecting my issue:

    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/winserverprint/thread/d9676ceb-e18d-4bd8-ae09-9e9b50a8cf6fhttp://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/itprovistaprinting/thread/9c14dd83-2c71-45d3-8829-7e9cabb04d86http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/w7itprogeneral/thread/95284883-e9bf-45a8-99ed-43d14483fbd3http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/w7itproinstall/thread/a0cad96e-4a4f-404e-a553-8f5f891a9361

This post seems to match my issue pretty well, unfortunately there is no helpful answer to it:

    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itpronetworking/thread/1a3c9144-383d-48e6-bcc3-7eaab1fb84b1
Here's some background about the issue and what I've already tried:

We have a fileserver which runs Windows 2008 Server Standard SP2 32-Bit.The fileserver also works as print server. All printers are network printers.Printers used are HP LJ, HP CLJ, HP DesignJet, Zebra, Kyocera
We work in a Windows Domain (AD).We have Windows XP (32 bit), Windows 7 (32 bit and 64 bit) runningAll users have standard privileges

The problem occurs only on Windows 7 32 bit machines with the Zebra ZM400 ZPL printer.
The printer is installed on the print server via standard tcp/ip port. The latest zebra drivers are installed for x32 and x64. It is certified for Windows as stated

    here.
When connecting the shared printer the driver installation starts (progression bar) but after some files it cancels with the error 0x000003e3. But only on the Windows 32 bit machines. There are no problems with the print driver installation on the XP or
    64 bit machines whatsoever.
I have tried several workarounds mentioned in different forums or posts in this forum without any luck unfortunately:

local printer: Does only work as local administrator with administrator privileges. Does not work with other user account neither with standard privileges nor with administrator privileges (results as described by lneblett on
    Saturday, March 12, 2011 7:34 PM)
creating new registry key manually: did not work at alllocal printer
I have then connected a second printer (same model) on a test machine (win7 32 bit) directly via USB using the same printer driver installation file. The driver was installed without any problems.
Therefore I exclude the driver itself for causing the problem which leaves only the client or the print server.
I have then installed the printer directly on my client machine running win7 x64 and shared it . I also installed the alternate driver for x32. After that I connected from my test machine to that printer. The print driver was again installed without any
    problems.
Therefore I tend to exclude the client, too.
I added the print server role to another Windows 2008 Server Standard SP2 64 bit and shared the printer the same way as on our 32 bit print server and connected from the client successfully.
That leaves only the print server.
Any help is very much appreciated.

    Hi,
Please downloaded the latest printer driver for Zebra ZM400 ZPL printer.

Installed the driver on the Print server.

Installed the drivers using the Zebra setup wizard to update manually.

Then, try to add the Zebra ZM400 ZPL printer through network share to test.

Is your registry OK? Honestly, I can't tell. I suspect that you have no registry problem.

The System Restore error may or may not be serious. You should run a chkdsk on all of your hard drives (it's not clear to me whether "HarddiskVolume1" indicates the first or second hard drive (sometimes numbering starts with 0)). To do this, open My Computer
    and for each hard drive,

Right click and select PropertiesSelect the "Tools" tabIn the "Error Checking" section (top box), click the "Check now" buttonIn the "Check disk options" window, check both boxes and then click the "Start" buttonIf you're checking the drive where Windows is located (almost always C:), you'll get a pop-up message that says,

"The disk check could not be performed because the disk check utility needs exclusive access to some Windows files on the disk. These files can be accessed only be restarting Windows. Do you want to schedule the disk check to occur the next time you restart
    the computer?"
Click "Yes", then click OK to close the Disk Properties window, then close My Computer, and reboot the computerChkdsk will run when the computer restarts, displaying its output as white text on a black screen. If it goes by too fast (or if it takes too long and you get tired of staring at your computer), open Event Viewer (Start Run eventvwr OK) and look
for the recent entry in the "Application" log from "Winlogon". You should see something like this:

    Event Type: Information
    Event Source: Winlogon

Windows has finished checking your disk.
Please wait while your computer restarts.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

Running chkdsk on a non-system disk should proceed without needing to rebootAssuming that chkdsk reports that your drive is OK, right-click on My Computer and select PropertiesSelect the "System Restore" tabConfigure System Restore to monitor the system drive (e.g., C:). It's not particularly useful to have System Restore monitor non-system drives (for much more information, see
http://bertk.mvps.org/)For each drive, use the slider to allocate no more than about 1 GB for System Restore (as you will see, the default is 12%, which is too much on today's large hard drives; again, see
    http://bertk.mvps.org/html/diskspace.html)
SFC /scannow wants to have the XP installation CD that has the same service pack as is running on the computer. That's why I said that using an sp2 CD with an sp3 system won't work (at least without a lot of complaints from sfc).

There is a great deal of misinformation and misunderstanding about what sfc /scannow does and does not do. In Windows XP, the Windows File Protection feature monitors key system files. If someone (or some malicious program) attempts to modify or delete
one of the monitored files, WFP silently replaces the "bad" file with a good copy. It gets the good copy from a hidden system directory at C:\Windows\system32\dllcache. In Windows XP, running sfc /scannow only repopulates the dllcache folder so that it has
all of the monitored files. For a much more complete discussion of this, see
THIS and the follow-up post by the same author a bit further down in the same thread.

As it turns out, regtrace.exe is one of the 3498 system files monitored by Windows File Protection -- but a copy may or may not be in C:\Windows\system32\dllcache. I suspect that dllcache includes a copy of this file ONLY if the file is installed in C:\Windows\system32.

Regtrace.exe is not, however, installed in C:\Windows\system32 for most Windows XP installations. My guess -- I don't know for sure -- that regtrace.exe gets put in C:\Windows\system32 (and a copy in the dllcaceh folder) if you install the

    optional IIS component.

Bottom line: if chkdsk reports that your hard drives are OK, don't worry about the Event Viewer messages you cited. On general principles, however, you might want to do the following:

If you haven't done so recently, download, install, update, and run these two free programs.

    MalwareBytes AntiMalware
    SUPERAntiSpyware

Use the free versions, not the free trials of the "pro" versions. Pay attention during installation to uncheck any prechecked boxes that would install some additional third-party program.

Don't run the scans simultaneously. Each scan will take a long time. Start one up and go do a non-computer chore. When the scan complete, let the program deal with anything it finds.

When done, you may keep or uninstall either or both programs. If you keep SAS, I suggest changing its default setting to NOT run automatically when Windows starts.

    DB:3.72:Hyperv Cluster Strange Problems 8d

    Dear all,
We use 3 nodes with FC adapters and win 2008 R2 SP1 core hyperv cluster with CSV for about 2 years now. The storage system is FC from the X vendor, recently we have installed new
storage system from the x vendor (x vendor told us that is ok to install 2 different x multipathing drivers for both systems). We have added the new storage system luns as CSV in the cluster. The migration procedure we are using to migrate VMs from old x storage
system to new x storage system(we dont trust doing it through SCVMM 2008 as many times failed) is by exporting the VM through hyperv manager to the new x storage system CSV volume (we always are careful so the node we are using is the owner of those volumes),
then delete the vm from cluster, next delete from hyperv manager, next import the machine through hyperv manager and next make it highly available. During this procedure we need many times to migrate machines and move CSV owners. I have noticed the following
problems that i am not sure if i had them before (maybe some of them i had some times live migration failed). Note that recently we had some strange ntfs corruptions on many VMs that looked like was caused by a faulty controller on the x storage(as only machines
that was on that controller has the corruptions) with support from x vendor and on some VMs we ran chkdsk we fixed the problem.
    Problem 1).
When i try to live migrate a VMs sometimes it fails and maybe next it success

    Problem 2).
When i try to live migrate a VM it fails and it turns off the vm(which is very bad for us) and i see on host the following 2 errors
live migration did not succeed at the destination. Live migration of did not succeed. (Virtual machine ID 3A7E6656-)Could not receive data from the remote node: The operation
completed successfully. (0x00000000) and the second error Could not send data to the remote node: The I/O operation has been aborted because of either a thread exit or an application request. (0x000003E3)
    Problem 3).
When we restart a host that has no VM on it and no CSV owner on it. On the other 2 nodes i see the following error for 2 or 3 disks among 20 we have X MPIO
Generic Module failed to return a Path to \Device\MPIODisk19
    Problem 4).
When a specific VM is on host one let's say and running ok and i am trying to open the hyperv setting for that machine through failover clustering management CONSOLE
i see onE of the 2 following errors. While if i open the hyperv settings through hyperv manager it opens ok, and if i move this machine to other host it open ok again. An error was encountered opening virtual machine settings, make sure virtual machine
configuration is online, the operation on computer failed, the application called an interface that was marshalled for a different thread(exception from HRESULT:0X80011010E(RPC_E_WRONG_THREAD)), and the second error An error was encountered
opening virtual machine settings, make sure virtual machine configuration is online, the operation on computer failed, unable to cast COM object of type 'System._ComObject' to interface type 'System.Management.IWbemServices'. This operation failed because
the QueryInterface call on the COM component for theinterface with IDD{the id of the machine} failed due to the following error: Exception from HRESULT:0x80070108.
    Problem 5).
When i move CSV ownership from one host to other i see the failover clustering console flashing, i notice that the VM that i am loged in which is on another host and
on another CSV, of the same cluster always, looks like lossing the disk access for a couple o seconds. Why moving one CSV ownership affect machines that are on diferent CSVs? And sometimes it takes more time to move and lose access maybe for 4-5 seconds or
more and some times less. Why should changing ownership of a CSV affect most of the machines in the cluster(not all the times and i am not sure if matter of how many machines are on that CSV)? For this problem i did not find any errors on the hosts event log.
Now I do not know if I should open service request with the x vendor or with Microsoft

    DB:3.42:Error Code 0x000003e3 - Document Remote Downlevel Document 11

Hi all. I have 2 questions to ask and hope someone can help me out.

    Print servers: Windows Server 2003
    Clients: Windows 7

First, one of our print servers (print2) recently went down and was recently rebuilt. Since then, we can not connect to the printers on that server by going to Networkprint2 and then right clicking "connect...". It seems to install the driver but then we
    get error code 0x000003e3.

I have already tried the following:

Click Start Control Panel Hardware and Sound Printers
    Click on Add a printer
    Select Add a local printer
Create a new port Local Port Click on Next
Enter the port name for the network printer (i.e. \\Computer Name\Printer Name)

    Select and Install printer driver
Do not share Do not make default

Now, this DOES work and installs the driver, however, this is where the second question starts.

When our personnel prints documents for clients using the print2 printers, the documents will not show the proper file names. Instead, it shows "Document: remote downlevel document". We have pin pointed that the problem is from adding the printers using said
above method as all the printers on our print1 server are behaving normal. However, when removed and added the way posted, they too will show up as Document: remote downlevel document. Removing the printer and then going back and adding the printer from print1
by doing Networkprint1 and then right clicking "connect... everything works as it should and the documents are showing the correct names.

Can anyone help with either issue?

The KinectStatus App shows two black screens (and all Frame counters are 0). The reported Firmware Version is: 1.1.3318.0.7
The Status App was running properly before. Unfortunatelly, we made an Firmware Update and it seems this causes the Kinect to fail while setting up the connection.
While performing the update, it looks like that the tag versions are downgraded. From something above 2.X to 1.1.X but i am currently not sure about it. Can someone please name the latest accessible firmware version for the v2 Developer Preview Kinect? Where
can i download the appropriate Firmware Updater for it?

    Many Thanks in advance

DB:3.42:Win 7 Version Of Wan-Miniport (Ip) Needs Rasirda.Sys To Reinstall, Where Is It? d8

I had to go through this process for Windows 7, 64 bit.

I had to obtain devcon.exe by installing the Windows Driver Kit (WDK) and using the copy in 8.0\Tools\x64. The more commonly found devcon.exe will fail with a terse, unhelpful message.

I installed each of these hardware ID's using devcon.exe install c:\windows\inf\netrasa.inf hardwareId:

    MS_AgileVpnMiniport
    MS_NdisWanIp
    MS_NdisWanIpv6
    MS_L2tpMiniport
    MS_NdisWanBh
    MS_PppoeMiniport
    MS_PptpMiniport
    MS_SstpMiniport

After adding these, Device Manager showed them as Unknown Device.

After a reboot, Windows attempted to install drivers for these. It reported failure for each, but still, Device Manager showed the proper Display Name for each of the above.

My first attempt at using VPN failed due to Network Access Protection (NAP) not getting info it wanted. The second attempt succeeded.

DB:3.40:Error 0x000003e3 When Trying To Install Network Printer 7j

I have a printer installed on a Vista32 laptop and I am trying to install the same printer via the network using another laptop running Win7-32. Fails to install, error 0x000003e3. Please help!

DB:3.40:Error 0x000003e3 When Trying To Install Network Printer 7j

My Fix for error 0x000003e3 shared printer:

Cause (i think.. couldn't join homegroup):
There was a pre-existing homegroup on my network that I didn't have password for that was created by a co-worker. Homegroup is microsofts share management, it only allows one per network. Any user can setup one, not give out the password, and thus screw
up sharing for everyone else. You can either get their password to join the homegroup, get on their PC and remove their homegroup, as well as any other PC's connected to that homegroup, thus allowing you to setup a new one, or turn off homegroup on the PC's
you want to connect and use basic accounts and passwords instead. I decided to turn off homegroup on the computers I wanted to share a printer. (Fixing and using homegroup is probably a better solution, but I didn't do that, anyways...)
Fix (tell the computers to not use homegroup):
(I did this on two windows 8 machines, but I believe the instructions will work for Windows 7)
Start - Search:Network and Sharing Center (Win 8 - press Windows Key + W to search settings)
Click: Change advanced sharing settings(blue link on the left)
Expand: Private (current profile), or whichever is your current profile
Make sure Turn on file and printer sharing is checked
    Under HomeGroup Connections
Select: Use user accounts and passwords to connect to other computers
    Re-login when prompted.
Note:When you add the printer now, you'll need a login and password, I just used the login and password for the main account on the PC sharing the printer, this could potentially be a security issue as now the connecting PC has the Sharing PC's account
info stored (It will be mostly hidden and that user shouldn't ever see it, but it's still there somewhere.). You can also add a separate account just for sharing by adding one to User Accounts in control panel on the Sharing PC then right click the shared
printer, printer properties, security tab, and add that user to the share. (I believe a password isrequired
in order for this to work, as in, it wont let you login to a shared PC with an account with no password, even if that account exists and has the proper privileges, if your main account doesn't use a password and you don't want to add a password, you'll
need to add a new user accountwith a passwordand add that user to the printers security settings under printer properties.)

I disabled homegroup for both the PC trying to add the printer and the PC sharing the printer. Not like homegroup was doing anything anyways thanks to my co-workers homegroup and it's mystery password, perhaps
i'll fix it later. (I'm not sure if I needed to disable homegroup on both PC's, but I did.)

I then added the printer as normal. Devices and Printers, add printer, network printer, my printer isn't listed, shared name, \\PC-Name\Printer-Share-Name
It prompts for login which I just used the normal login for the PC I was connecting to, prompts for drivers. No error, test page printed, hooray!

    DB:3.40:Hyperv Cluster Errors js

    Dear all,
We use 3 nodes with FC adapters and win 2008 R2 SP1 core hyperv cluster with CSV for about 2 years now.

Now I do not know if I should open service request with the x vendor or with MicrosoftMCSE, MCTS, VCP, AIS, MCITP

    DB:3.40:Hyperv Cluster Errors js

    Dear all,
I finally figured out the problem with help of my colleague. On ds5020 we had 15 Luns with lun Ids from 0-14. On the new v7000 I started the lun ids from 20-31 . 31 was the last lun .But on the ds5020 I forgot to count the access lun which has lun id 31.
So after running datapath query command we saw that disk5 on v7000 which had lun id 31 had 6 paths. 2 of the paths was closed, all other disks was ok with 4 paths. So the sdddsm ibm multipathing driver was trying to access disk5 which was on v7000 through
access lun with lun id 31 on ds5020. This confusion cause all the volumes and the wholecluster to hang.

DB:3.39:Problema Di Installazione Stampante Hp Su Win 7 Professional A 64 Bit aa

    Salve a tutti.

Windows cannot connect to the printer.
    Operation failed with error 0x000003e3.
Ho letto su parecchi forum che per bypassare l'errore basterebbe installare la stampante come locale, e creare una porta localeindicando
    \\hostname/printer name.
Ovviamente ho già provato a farlo, ma compare sempre l'errore:
    Access is denied.

I then installed an IP printer on the server using the 64bit drivers and shared it. From the share tab I added in the 32 bit drivers. On my Windows XP machines I can just browse to the UNC path of the server and right click on a shared printer
and hit connect. On my windows 7 machines I cannot get it to work.
I log in to the windows 7 pro 32bit client with domain admin account and go to add the printer. We are using con2prt via login script to set up the printers since not all the clients have the gp extensions installed. When I browse to the UNC
path of the server and right click and connect to the shared printer it asks me if I want to install a print driver. I hit yes and it flashes a file copy window really fast then goes to a Window cannot connect to the printer error, with error code 0x000003e3.
I did some additional digging and it looks like the driver is never being installed. If I click on a printer and then go to print server properties, that driver is not listed in the drivers tab. After some more digging I found that the files are
being copied into the user profile temp folder but errors directly after that.

My question is what would be stopping the driver from being installed after being copied to the temp folder? I am getting zero errors in the event viewer on the client to even start troubleshooting.
    Any thoughts?

    gents,
I suddenly can't install drivers so that my new iLok and my Logitech USB-Dongle aren't working. I did a backup of all drivers from another Win7x64 systemdrive and extracted them. The Drivers were working on that system and am there.
Still I got a FILE NOT FOUND or similar error.
I checked the SETUPAPI.DEV.LOG which I copied below. Can anyone see what's the problem with the iLok driver f.e. ?

it's a global problem. I mean that EVERY dongle will not work. There seems to be a global driver installation bug. I am just checking if any security software is blocking it, but that would be quite abnormal.

DB:2.97:Laser Jet 5 P Printer Driver For Windows 7 And Windows Vista 64 Bit. f8

I have a Laser Jet 5P connected to a Windows 7 64 bit computer. I am trying to share this printer with my Vista 64 bit computer.

When I first attached my printer to my Windows 7 computer, the following Printer name was installed: HP LaserJet M5035 mfp PCL6.

Is this the appropriate driver for my Laser Jet 5P in both Windows 7 and Windows Vista?

I have been trying to reinstall the printer drivers on both machines. They were networked well and working well until about two weeks ago when some update happened. It may have been IE9. Since that time, the Vista can see the Laser Jet 5P physically connected to the Windows 7 computer, but it cannot add it in order to print. Error code 0x000003e3.

Of course, on the HP website the driver is shown as a part of the Vista Drivers and a part of the Windows 7 drivers. This makes reinstalling a bit tricky. How do I do this?

When I burned the Sd Card I selected Using MDDR at boot stream option in Package list and this is not correct to boot over network.

    DB:2.76:Window 7 Sp1 Shared Printer Issue 9f

Client has a peer to peer network consisting of 13 Win7 Pro (32bit) clients and 1 Win 2008 (32 bit) server (mostly used for file sharing), upon which a Point-of-Sale application runs. One of the client systems has a shared USB chit printer (generic/text
only) which was used by most of the other clients such that when a bar or food order was placed, the order would print at the chit printer for handling. All was working well and had been since October 2010 when the system was installed. All the client users
are logged in as standard users. Upon updating the clients with SP1, all the clients that previously had access to the shared USB printer suddenly started to report that the printer driver needed installation andgave the option to proceed to do so. Upon
electing to go ahead with the printer driver installation, it appeared to load a couple of files as indicated by the progress bar and then stopped showing error 0x000003e3 could not connect. A removal of the USB printer from the remote clients and
an attempt to (re)install results in the same sceanrio. The printer is discovered during a network search and installation does seem to start, but always results in the same error. I have also tried to install as a local printer on the Serverusing
\\systemname\printername to no avail. The other shared printers are IP based rather than USB and instead of being shared through a client are shared through the Server. They are used as Chit printers for the same
purpose as well, but no client system was needed at their locale; hence why IP based. These continue to work fine. I ended up having to install another IP based printer as a temporary fix and changed all the clients to point to thatrather than the USB
share and it works fine; however, it cost the useof another printer and consumed needed desk real estatethat the customer would like to recover. Only after installing SP1 did the issue crop up. It seems to be a permissions issue , but even
logged into the server as an admin and ensuring that all the clients are set for network/file/printer sharing in both public and private mode, the issue persists.
    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Larry

    DB:2.76:Window 7 Sp1 Shared Printer Issue 9f

I tried your suggestion. The printer connected and all appeared fine. I used the macines IP and the printer name. I disabled the firewalls for the test and intslled LPD/LPR. When I directed a printjob to the printer and then opened the see what's printing
window, the document looked like it was going to go, but then the staus reported back printer busy. Stopping and starting the printer spooler, canceling and retrying and rebooting the system resulted in no change. I removed the printers, removed the drivers
and tried again from both the clienthosting the shared printer and the client from which I wanted to use to connect to the remote printer. There are two usersaccount on each of the client machines: admin with administrative privileges and
POS_USER (point of sale user) with standard privileges. The network is established as WORK with network discovery = 'ON, printer and file sharing = ON, public folder sharing =OFF, Password protected sharing = OFF. The POS_USER account is not password
protected as it is the account that mutiple wait-staff use to gain access to the POS application. All systems are a part of the same workgroup and I can still see all network systems and printers. The event logs showed the job being rendered and the sandbox
of0, but gave no error, the printer simply continued to show busy. I gave up on the IP/printer name suggestion and went back to the looking at the original USB set-up (following):
After reinstalling the printer to the client hosting same, there was no problem printing locally. I could connect, installand print from the remote client if I was logged on to the local machineas admin withadmin priviliges. When I tried
to do the same as the POS_USER with standard prvileges, the connection would take place and then want to install the driver, but it was again at this point where the driver install failed with 0x000003e3 errors. This was done from the add printer command from
the Devices Printers path, from Start using the add networkprinter command. I also tried changing the POS_User from a standard user to an Admin privileged user and tried. Same result, the driver would look likeit would start and then
fail. I then tried with a new user and admin privileges and again it failed. I was getting different error codes but these codes werenot found in any of the MS submissions I tried.
I also tried using the Networkpath from start and found the client hosting the printer and clicked on the System icon, itshowed the printer and showed it as shared. I then right clicked and asked to connect to the printer andwhereupon
it asked for log-in credentials. At the time I was logged in on the remote client as aPOS_USER andwas unable to log in using any credentials supplied to include using the admin credentials with the remote computersname. Sharing permissions
for print are enable for EVERYONE.
In any event, I ran out of timeas the client had to open business.I will be out for two weeks as I have another client in Ohio. They are up and running, but it is frustrating that what should be something simple with a shared USBprinter
over a peer to peernetwork is turning out to be so problematic. It was all working so well before the upgrade. What is even more interesting is that I had absolutely no problem using the sameWin7 SP1 client that would not connect to the remote
WIN7 SP1 client hosting the USB printerto connect to a WIndows XP machine running a USB HP laserjet. This same remote client also hasthe same local printer attached to it as the one that I need to connect toon the remote machne. While they
are the same printer anduse the same driver, the application uses them for different reasons. Local printing is not a problem.

    Again, thanks for any help.

I do not see any time stamps, but usually you can see "This program has been asked to exit." when you get inactivity timeout. In such case, I would suggest as first step to make sure inactivity timeout on group resource is set to 0.

DB:2.76:Cannot Install Printer Drivers For Printers On A Remote Windows 7 Machine 1s

At the prompting of an HP email this morning, I dowlaoded and ran HP's printer driver installation wizard, which updated the Photosmart 309a drivers on the Windows 7 machine that is acting as the print server on my home network. Now, a Windows 7laptop on that network, that had been able to printer to the 309a, can no longer print to it. I removed the 309a printer from that laptop using the Devices and Printers area of Control Panel and attempted to add it in once more. The laptop can see the machine that hosts the printer and allows me to start the connection process. I then get a pop-up asking me if I trust this driver and whether want to install it. When I say yes, I get an error pop-up that says "Windows cannot connect to the printer" and gives me an error code of 0x000003e3 as a reaon.

I attempted to install the 309a driver on the laptop by connecting directly to the printer's USB cable. Automatic installation went smoothly there but a subsequent attempt to connect remotely returned the same connection error.

Any clues as to how to fix this?

    Hi,

Pls run wireless test report on the printer

look for the IP address and the channel

for the channel - the channel should be channel 11

if not pls. call the rourter manufacturer to set it to channel 11.

Now, disable 3rd party softwares- antivirus, firewall and spyware before installation

    Then,proceed to the installation-

if not resolved please install it first using USB connection then we will convert it from USB to wireless...

    please follow the steps below.

    Hello,
I'm developing a driver to connect a custom board to the PC through USB (vendor-specific class). Therefore I am trying to install the WinUSB driver. I've modified the INF file example provided in the MSDN documentation to fit my needs.

When I'm trying to manually install the driver through the Device Manager or by using the command devcon.exe install C4Gen.inf USB\VID_0483PID_0904, the process fails: the setupapi.dev.log shows that an Error installing file occurs when the coinstallers
    are being copied.
What is the origin of this error (directory/files rights, ...) and how can I solve it?

    Thank you,

DB:2.65:Installing A Kodak 5500 Printer On My Vista System That Is Connected To My Desktop Windows 7 Through My Network. Get Error Message 0x000003e3 a8

    Hi TracyRodal,

Reinstall the printer by adding a port:

a.Click start- Control Panel, Printers, and delete offline printers. If they won’t delete, it may be because there are pending print jobs in the queue. Open the printer and Cancel the jobs.
b.In Printer properties, Ports tab, delete the previously installed printers (offline status) that appear as Client Side Rendering Provider under the Description column. To do this, highlight the port, then click on Delete Port button.
    Click Apply.
    c.Restart your computer.
d.Now reinstall the printers as follows:
    i. Open Control panel, Printers, and click Add a printer.
ii. Click Add a local printer.
iii. Select the "Use an existing port" radio button, and select LPT1: (Printer Port).
    iv. Click Next.
    v. Install the printer driver.
vi. When adding the printer and creating a local port, you will be prompted to select driver. You can either select Have Disk or specify the location of the associated .inf driver file.Proceed with installing the printer
and test the ability to printer.
e.In the next window, accept the printer name or type in a new name. Leave the "Set as default printer" box unchecked. Click Next.
f.It should now install the printer. A window should open saying "You've successfully added printer name.
g.DO NOT Print a test page at this time, because nothing is connected to the LPT1 port on the laptop. Just press Finish. The printer you just added should appear in the Printers window.
h.Click ONCE on the newly added printer to highlight it, then right-click and open Properties.
i.On the Ports tab, click Add Port, select Local Port, then click New Port.
j.When the Port Name window open, Enter a port name as follows: \\servername\printername (replace servername with the name of your PC or the server name acting as print server, and printer name with the name of your printer). Click
    OK.
k.You should now have a new port listed on the Ports tab of the printer Properties, but now the Description should be Local Port, instead of Client Side Rendering Provider. Click OK.
l.Now you can go to the General tab, and Print a Test Page.

DB:2.65:Windows 7 Machine Gets Error 0x000003e3 When Connecting To 2003 Print Server 3c

We have several field offices. Each one has it's own print server (Windows 2003 Standard)in the office. I recently added the x64 drivers to support a roll out of Window 7 (64bit) machines. Some (not all) of the Windows 7 machines
get an error 0x000003e3 cannot connect to printer. I have seen some other posts that say to create a local port and point it to the printer share location and then manually install the printer driver. To me, this would seem to defeat the purpose
of having a print server, which is supposed to make it easier to install and manage your printers. Does anyone else have any other ideas on resolving this issue?

    DB:2.55:L7580 Network Error After Win7 Sp1 k8

    Installed win7 sp1 on print server (win7 home premium x64), workstation1 (win7 home premium x64) and workstation2 (win7 pro x64) with previously shared and working L7580 and P2015.

L7580 show unavailable after upgrade, reinstalls show printer working flawlessly on server but generate a "windows cannot connect to the printer. Operation failed with error 0x000003e3" on both workstations. All signs point to an issue with this driver, SP1 and networking as this error has been around for a while flagged as a driver issue and the P2015 is still working flawlessly. Is this a isolated case or is this yet another hp printer destined for the dumpster.

    DB:2.55:L7580 Network Error After Win7 Sp1 k8

A print server by definition...A computer in a network that controls one or more printers. It is either part of the network operating system or an add-on utility that stores the print-image output from users' machines and feeds it to the printer one job at a time. The computer and its printers are known as a "print server" or a file server with "print services."

I apologize if this was unclear as this definition and use is extemely old and possibly predates most users on this forum. This is a shared printer over a network using the HP x64 usb drivers. While it appears to work properly using a network (cat5/6) setup, using it shared from the print server using (usb) creates the previously noted error.

DB:2.55:Xps Document Writer Under Win 7 X64 Fails To Create Print Files. xz

This used to work, but for some reason it has stopped.
Essentially if i try to print from any application to the XPS Document Writer, i am correctly prompted for a file name, but then, depending upon the application i might get an error message, but in all cases i don't get a file.
e.g. for notepad i get the message 'the I./O operation has been aborted because of either a thread exit or an application request'. From internet explorer 8 i get no error messages at all.
I have tried removing the printer driver and adding it again together and i have also added a generic printer and then adjusting the driver details. In both casesi get the same issue.
I have turned off and on the windows features for XPS Services and XPS Viewer. Once again this has made no difference.
I have similarly restarted the printer spooler. No difference.
When i try doing a print test page i get a 'Test page failed to print. Would you like to view the print troubleshooter for assistance? Operation could not be completed (error 0x000003e3).
    Clues anybody?
    Thanks in advance

Well, something that we all know, but nevertheless - this sort of backup is no longer supported by Microsoft.Second, I have seen it die with this error if you hot inactivity timeout - and from error message it seems as you did that.
