    Hi William,

I understand how difficult it is if you are unable to work with the Office applications.

Go to the control panel and check if you can find the Office 365 installed or not.

If yes, then repair the Office as suggested in the following link and check if it helps:
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/excel-help/repair-office-programs-HA010357402.aspx

Let us know the results to help you better.

    Hi Vic,

This issue may occur if there is another instance of the same program running in the background.

Stop and start or restart Microsoft Office Service following below mentioned instructions and verify the result:
(Since you are unable to click Start or
Apply option, you may choose manual option from the drop down instead of Automatic, click apply and then switch back to Automatic and then try to start it).

    1. Hold Windows key +R.
Copy and paste, or type the following command in the Open box, and then press Enter:
    services.msc
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password, or click Continue.
    2. In the Services list, double-click

    Hi Connor,

    Microsoft Office Service.
    3. In the Windows Installer Properties dialog box, click
    Automatic in the
    Startup type list.
    4. Click Start, click
    Apply, and then click OK.
    5. Start the software installation.

If that does not help, then the only option now is to completely remove all traces of Office 365/ Office 2013 from the computer and then re-install it. You may remove all traces of Office 2013 installation by running the fixit from the following article:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2739501

Now download and install Office 2013 by logging into
www.office.com/myaccount with the registered email address and click Install Office.

Press the ‘Windows + R’ key on the keyboard.
In the Run window type ‘Winword /safe’ without quotes
Replace Winword, and Powerpnt, for other Office applications.

    Hello James,

What are you troubleshooting steps you've tried so far?
Try the following and verify the result:

    1) Follow the instructions mentioned in the following KB article and verify the result:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2827031

    2) Run ‘Fix it’ from the article below to remove any remnants of Office installation files and then try re-downloading and installing the Office suite:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2739501
Note: Save the ‘Fix it’ before running it as you’re working on 64 bit Windows. And ensure that you have the Office installation source and the product key for the Office suite before running the ‘Fix it’.

If you’re unable to run ‘Fix it’, follow Manual steps to ensure that Office installation files are removed and see if it helps.

    3) You may also refer to the following thread link which discusses about common Office installation issues and see if it helps:

It would NOT have been removing Office and re-installing it that had any effect on your "saved excel spreadsheets" They are saved by Office, NOT in Office.

If you had Excel 2013 installed, you ALSO had Word 2013 installed as both applications are part of all versions of Office.

It appears that there may be some hardware incompatibilities as well.

The ddeexec can also be deleted from
