    i have two schemas, want to find no of columns and table in both scehmas.

    DB:6.60:Camparing No Of Columns In Differe Schemas kj

    The reason I used dba_tab_cols is that it will get all the tables in the database for the schema specified.

    If you use user_tab_cols you only get tables in the schema select from. If you use all_tab_cols you only get tables in your schema and tables that you have privileges to select from, therefore its possible to get an incorrect count using all_tab_cols view.

    DB:2.59:Opencl Performance Vs Openmp c8

    Hello,Have there been any studies done camparing OpenCL performance to OpenMP? Specifically I am interested in the overhead cost of launching threads with OpenCL, e.g., if one were to decompose the domain into individual work items with each thread doing a small job versus heavier weight threads in OpenMP were the domain was decomposed into sub domains whose number equals the number of cores.It seems that the OpenCL programming model is more targeted towards massively parallel chips, GPUs for instance rather than CPUs that have fewer but more powerful cores. Can OpenCL be an effective replacement for OpenMP?

    DB:2.59:Opencl Performance Vs Openmp c8

    Hello,

    While the focus of many materials about OpenCL is the data parallel programming model, it's important to keep in mind that OpenCL also supports a task-parallel programming model, which is more oriented at compute devices with fewer compute units that are relatively strong.

    That being said, we believe the Intel OpenCL SDK for the CPU can offer good performance on the CPU for data parallel workloads as well. Probably the best way is for you to try it out yourself to see which of the Intel solutions fits your needs the best.

    To answer your specific question, the thread launch time between OpenMP and Intel's OpenCL should be quite similar, but you probably meant to ask about execution overhead and not the actual thread launch. OpenCL semantics require error checking and other overheads, that aren't present in OpenMP. However, these do not scale with the size of the workload, but rather are constant per call to clEnqueueNDRange.
    You can measure exactly how big a penalty is incurred by comparing a wallclock measurement to the execution time reported by the kernel object via the clGetEventProfilingInfo API - just make sure the wallclock measurement captures all the execution, since clEnqueueNDRange is asynchronous.

    For more information, you can also check the optimization guide.

    We need to hide some columns in apply databases, for example, replace it with *.

    Now we use triggers on apply schemas, which replace column value with * before insert. But with update and delete operations there are problems, because apply process generate errors - 'no data found' and put transactions in error queue.

    Optimal variant is to use rule-based transformations on the capture process on a table, where are columns, which need to hide.

    We wrote pl/sql transformation function and create rule with action_context associated with this function, but see, that processor loading of capture process increase doubly.

    Please tell me, who work with transformations. Are really transformation hardly load capture machine or it is mistake? And how I can do aforesaid task with other methods?

    Multiple instances. You can go with multiple schemas, but in that case you will have multiple applications accessing a single db. In case of an incomplete recovery, you would end up losing some data for all schemas, while at the same time, no applications can be used.

    DB:2.32:Re: Problem In 10g df

    your case is similar like my company so my dear friend for that what i did is multiple instance is not good practise because the resource will be shared. like you have 4gb ram and for a min we assume you set 1.5 gb , 1.5 gb sga for both instances means you have more than 70% utilize ur ram for instances sgas so it will be a bad performance you will get. i hope you understand the issue.
    ok now about your actual issue what i did due to security and audit purposes its not possible data recite in same scehma. so its better schema should be separate but Tablespaces must be separate.
    its easy way of doing rest there are some other options which are relevant to advance feature like some one adviced about FGA ......

    DB:2.31:Dramatic Audio Level Reduction cz

    I am using A. Pack and just processed an AIFF with the standard settings: 2.0, 192KB, -31 dialogue, no RF, no Low Pass.

    The resulting AC-3 is maybe a third of the audio level of the original AIFF and only playing out of the left speaker. And yes I dragged and dropped the file twice and assigned the left and right channels--which both contain audio. I have repeated the process with a wav as well with the same results. (I've checked the Info in the Monitor to confirm the -31 setting)

    I am listening to the AC-3 in the A.Pack Monitor and comparing it with the AIFF in quicktime.

    Any ideas about what is killing my audio level and eliminating my right channel? Is listening to the AC-3 in the Monitor and the AIFF in QT like camparing apples and oranges? Is there a more accurate way to compare levels? Is there an app I can import both into and meter the levels?

    Thanks,
    Thomas

    DB:2.31:Dramatic Audio Level Reduction cz

    Normalize at -27 instead of -31.

    you should not normalize to -27. This will affect you
    audio levels, often times reducing them. -31 leaves
    the levels untouched.

    Not true--

    This is from Martin Sitter, the guy thqat writes the Apple quickstart books--"To determine the dialog normalization value, subtract 15 from the... (avg. dialogue peak.)"

    "It's common to mix audio...at an average volume of -12. Subtract 15 dB from -12 dB and you get -27dB!" (His exclamation point, not mine:P)

    -31 is movie dnv--you notice how a dvd is way lower in volume than the tv? If you don't want the lowered volume, use -27 or whatever number your dnv comes out to if you mix differently than to -12. With higher dnv numbers come potential "gain pumping" issues...

    Hi Naveen,

    There's nothing built in that will do that, you could use a third-party tool such as TOAD which (I believe) can do it, years ago I also used a tool called PowerDesigner which was extremely good at generating the scripts needed to update one schema design to another.

    You could probably create your own scripts to do this by querying user_tables, user_tab_cols etc, it depends how much time you have.

I was wondering if Mac OS allows different account for each user to log in locally, able to join a domain, and capable of making system image of its OS for restoration if needed. Does Mac OS has something similar to Windows group policy where the admin can control almost anything in that computer?

    I have posted the GroupWise 8 (Bosai) schemas to: ftp://ftp.novell.com/outgoing/GW8_schemas4_14_08.zip

    In the past (7.x), we shipped two sets schemas. One for .Net and one for all other frameworks. In GroupWise 8, we have consolidated the schemas into one set. This means that all frameworks, including .Net, should work with the provided set of schemas. If you see any problems, please let us know.

    DB:2.29:Comparing Two Schemas Having Different Sid xd

    hi gems...

    I want to compare two schemas but they have different SID. the database server are different for both of them. One is in 11gR1 and other one is in 11gR2.

    Suppose the credentials of them are as below...

    schema1/pass1@sid1
    schema2/pass2@sid2

    I want the to compare them to extract the extra new tables and extra new columns in the existing tables as well as the datatypes, default values and comments for the new columns..

    please help...

    DB:2.29:Comparing Two Schemas Having Different Sid xd

    If it were me doing this and I couldn't get what I wanted through a database link I would run this SQL on each schema and send the results to a file:

    select a.table_name, a.column_name, a.data_type, a.data_default, b.comments
    from user_tab_cols a, user_col_comments b
    order by a.table_name, a.column_nameThen I would use a file comparison utility to compare the two. I happen to use Beyond Compare, but I am sure there are many other equally good ones.

    DB:2.29:Isschemavalid() And Xs:Anytype js

    Hi,

    I am trying to validate a nested XML against nested XSD which contains xs:anyType.
    (Box.xsd, Envelope.xsd, BoxNOK.xml, BoxOK.xml)

    When i validate BoxNOK.xml in ORACLE, no error is returned
    ... lv_xmldoc.isSchemaValid(lv_schema) = 1
    ... which is good behavior
    When i validate BoxNOK.xml in oXygen (xml editor), an error is returned
    ... SystemID: C:\BoxNOK.xml
    ... Location: 10:14
    ... Description: cvc-complex-type.2.4.a: Invalid content was found starting with element 'e:Bodys'.
    ... One of '{"http://www.mydomain.be/schemas/Common/Exchanges/Envelope":Body}' is expected.
    ... URL: http://www.w3.org/TR/xmlschema-1/#cvc-complex-type

    What i do to validate the nested XML is breaking the document into subdocs (with xmltype.extract method),
    and validate the subdocs against the resp. XSD's.
    Because this is not very efficient for large docs with many types of subdocs,
    i am wondering if there is a way to force ORACLE (act like oXygen) to overrule the xs:anyType and raise an error when validating the document if there is an error in the subdoc. Unfortunately the XSD's are delivered to us by a third party and we are not allowed to change them.

    DB:2.29:How To Derive Objects Members At Runtime j7

    Hi,
    I want to create a method in one of my class which accepts two objects as a parameter. and in return it returns a string of statement which describes differe between different values of data members of both objects. My issue
    is type of this objects may vary and cannot expect at design time so I need some mechinism which allows me to get data members of each object at runtime and can compare the values of both objects.
    Is there any built in class in .net which helps me to perform my above objective?

    DB:2.29:How To Derive Objects Members At Runtime j7

    As Zaiden said, we may use Reflection to get information of a runtime object, something like this:

    public static
    string CompareObj(object objA,
    object objB)

    {

    if (objA != null objB !=
    null)

    {

    Type ta = objA.GetType();

    Console.WriteLine(Properties:);

    foreach (PropertyInfo pi
    in ta.GetProperties())

    {

    Console.WriteLine(pi.Name);

    }

    Console.WriteLine(Methods:);

    foreach(MethodInfo mi
    in ta.GetMethods())

    {

    Console.WriteLine({0} {1}({2}), mi.ReturnType, mi.Name, mi.GetParameters().Length);

    }

    }

    return mock return value;

    }
    But, why we need to compare two objects, even though they are of different types? From my understanding, if two objects have different types, they already different
    with each other, it doesnt make sense for me to compare fields, properties of the two objects. As an alternative of the CompareObj method, we may check whether the two objects have same type, then compare properties, etc.

    public static
    string CompareObj(object objA,
    object objB)

    {

    if (objA != null objB !=
    null)

    {

    Type ta = objA.GetType();

    Type tb = objB.GetType();

    if (ta.Equals(tb))

    {

    foreach (PropertyInfo pi
    in ta.GetProperties(BindingFlags.Public |
    BindingFlags.Instance))

    {

    object va = pi.GetValue(objA,
    null);

    object vb = pi.GetValue(objB,
    null);

    if (!object.Equals(va, vb))

    {

    Console.WriteLine(Values of property {0} are different, pi.Name);

    }

    }

    }

    else

    {

    Console.WriteLine(Different types, one is {0}, another is {1}, ta, tb);

    }

    }

    return mock return value;

    }Sincerely,

    DB:2.28:Jaxb: Multiple Schemabindings Error c1

    I have 2 schemas, schemaA.xsd and schemaB.xsd.
    They have to be compiled in a same package.
    They can be imported (or included) in other schemas (that compiles in different packages).
    First I add the same inline annotation on both schemas:

    xsd:annotation
    xsd:appinfo
    jxb:schemaBindings
    jxb:package name="test.mypack"/
    /jxb:schemaBindings
    /xsd:appinfo
    /xsd:annotationIf I compile (xjc) these 2 schemas individually there's no compilation error, but this is wrong because ObjectFactory is one (the last override the first one).
    Well, I compile both schemas together, but xjc show me this error:

    [ERROR] Multiple schemaBindings are defined for the target namespace ""
    line 12 of schemaA.xsd
    [ERROR] Another schemaBindings is defined here
    line 15 of schemaB.xsdWhy?
    SchemaBindings have scope Schema, not Namespace!
    If I delete the schemaBinding directive from one of the schemas and I compile schemas together, it works.
    It seems not a polished behaviour...

    I want each schema have its own life and indipendence. I could not comment a directive every time I have to use it in conjunction with another one.

    I'm using jaxb 1.0 (jwsdp11).

    Any help will be appretiate.

    Thanks

    DB:2.28:Sql Adapter Fails With Non-Dbo Database Schemas jd

    Hey all;

    I'm running across a rather annoying problem with the SQL Server adapter in BTS2k6.  I'm attempting to generate an insert updategram in VS2005 using the Add Adapter Metadata feature.

    I get as far as the dialog asking me to select the tables/columns to include in the xsd.  Trouble is, when I click on a table name the wizard closes (with no error to be found).  I've done some process of elimination and found that the wizard will bomb if I click any table that is not in the [dbo] schema of my SQL Server DB.  Now for the real bad news: all my tables are in schemas other than [dbo]...

    Has anyone else encountered this issue and/or no of a workaround?  I am not the DBA here so I can not alter the sctructure of the DB schemas.  I would find it astonishing if BTS had such a handicap so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's just me...

    Thanx,

    Dan Dunkle

    DB:2.28:Sql Adapter Fails With Non-Dbo Database Schemas jd

    Hello -
    Since running across this problem, we have come up with a couple of ways to address this problem.  Which one works best for you depends on how much control you have over the SQL Server DB that you are interfacing with.

    Method 1: Create a synomym for each stored proc that you are calling.  Even though the proc you are calling is not in the dbo schema, you (or your DBA) can easily create a synomyn for it that is in the dbo schema.  Assuming your stored proc is named GetPayrate and is in the accounting schema of the employees database, you would create a synomyn as follows:

    CREATE SYNOMYM [dbo].[GetPayrate] FOR [employees].[accounting].[GetPayRate]
    Method 2: Change the default schema used for the login you are using with the BTS host and/or Visual Studio's Add Adapter Metadata wizard.  This only works in production if all your stored procs are in the same schema or if you use multiple Send Ports/Receive Locations that are using SQL Authentication.  The net effect is that when connecting to your SQL Server, BTS and Visual Studio will be dropped into the correct schema automatically, so statements like EXEC [MyProcedure] should work even if MyProcedure is not in the dbo schema.

    ALTER USER [BtsServer\BizTalk.Host] WITH DEFAULT_SCHEMA=[accounting]
    I have not heavily tested Method 2, but Method 1 did work for us.  The downside is managing all the synomyms if you have a DB with a large API.
    Running a SQL Server Profile trace on our SQL Server reveals that these issues are related to the fact that BTS engine and BTS SDK assumes everything is in the [dbo] schema.  This issue may or may not be fixed in BTS 2006 R2 (anyone know?).  It doesn't affect updategrams (Insert/Update/Delete) as you can simply name your XML elements as schema.table

    Hi

    Can anyone explain the customization of vendor partner schemas/functions.

    And how to use it during PO creation.

    Guys plzz no cut copy paste....

    Thank You

    DB:2.27:Vendor Partner Schemas !! da

    Hi,

    During your business transaction process your Vendor play as Goods supplier, Invoice party, Order Address. These are roles played by your Vendor. Lets say..You send Order to Vendor main office and material supplied to you by vendor local office to your factory and invoice by head(main) office. This you can do by using vendor partner functions.

    The customization steps are as follow:

    1.Vendor Account Group.OBD3

    2.Number Ranges from Vendor account Group:XKN1,

    3.Assignment of Number ranges to Account Group(OBAS)

    4.Partner Function:

    SPRO-MM-Purchasing-Partner Determination- partner roles-Permissible partner roles per account group

    5.Partner Schema:

    SPRO-MM-Purchasing-Partner Determination-Partner setting in Vendor master record- Define partner Schema

    6.Assgin partner schema to accont Group

    SPRO-MM-Purcahsing-Partner Determination-Partner setting in Vendor master record- Assgin partner schema to account Group

    DB:2.27:Disable Logging On Tablespace dz

    We have a 9i database in archive log mode, and one of the schemas is updated every night using the Import utility. The data that is loaded each night cannot be updated, deleted, etc. Also, the data can be re-imported with no problems. I am wondering if there is any reason that I should not turn off logging for the tablespaces that are being used by this schema? No other schemas use these tablespaces.

    DB:2.27:Disable Logging On Tablespace dz

    The nologging parameter only applies to certain types of operations. From the 9.2 SQL manual

    NOLOGGING is supported in only a subset of the clauses that support LOGGING. Only the following operations support the NOLOGGING mode:

    DML:
    Direct-path INSERT (serial or parallel)
    Direct Loader (SQL*Loader)
    DDL:
    CREATE TABLE ... AS SELECT
    snip

    As long as you are using imp to reload the data I do not think the option will buy you anything. Now if you can convert to using SQLLDR to perform the loads that could be another story. But you should only do this if the quantity of redo being generated is significant.

    How many types of Schemas are there in Oracle ?

    DB:2.27:How Many Types Of Schemas" jk

    A schema is a namespace for collection of database objects.

    There is only one 'type' of schema, although one could consider the SYS, SYSTEM, DBSNMP, MDSYS and other schemas supplied by Oracle to be 'special' as compared to vendor or user schemas.

    DB:2.27:Multiple Schemas In Expdp: Like %... Possible? pk

    Hello,

    I have several schemas of which the name ends on 'OWNER';
    I want to export all these %OWNER schemas via expdp.
    Is it possible to use something like:

    expdp schemas='LIKE %OWNER' directory=.....

    instead of: expdp schemas=user1_owner,user2_owner,user3_owner,... directory=

    I tried several things, but nothing works; neither can I find any examples.

    Thanks an regards,
    Jan

    DB:2.27:Multiple Schemas In Expdp: Like %... Possible? pk

    No, only INCLUDE and EXCLUDE support something like that.

    SCHEMAS syntax is comma delimited list.

    So you could do like other poster suggested, generate the list using concatenate sql statement.

    DB:2.27:Select From Multiple Schemas kc

    I have an Oracle database with two schemas in it, there's a table in each schema and two colums in each. with the exception of the schema name they're identical.

    Schemas: rate1, rate2
    Table: rate_details
    Columns: rate_file, rate_live

    Each table will only ever have one row in it. The rate_file column will contain a filename and the rate_live will contain either a Y or N.

    Only one of the schemas will have it's rate_live column set to Y at any one time.

    I want to write an SQL statement that will tell me what the value of rate_file is by providing the rate_live value.

    The statement I have is as follows:

    SELECT r1.rate_file, r2.rate_file
    FROM rate1.rate_details r1, rate2.rate_details r2
    WHERE rate_live = 'Y'

    My problem here is that rate_live is ambiguous as it's in both schemas, so it wants me to tell it which schema to look to.

    Is there a way around this? Ultimately, if my data was as follows, the only output I'd want is date_250205:

    Schema (rate1)
    rate_file is date_180205
    rate_live is N

    Schema (rate2)
    rate_file is date_250205
    rate_live is Y

    John,

    Thanks again for your reply.

    Unfortunately I don't remember where I saw the article, it may even have been in a magazine. Perhaps they mean for more detailed queries, after all, mine is very simple.

    Thanks again for all your help though.

    I want to transform an xsd file to get at the embedded schematron schema using Oracle XDK for Java 9.2.0.5.0.

    The xsd includes another xsd and it seems that oraxsl cannot handle this unless the included xsd is located in same directory as the xsl file. Witness this:

    C:\prj\probas\oraxsl\java\xdk_9_2\bin\oraxsl AT_TradeName.xsd xslt\xsd2schtrn.xsl
    ?xml version = '1.0' standalone = 'yes'?

    Hi,

    Unless you came up on the lottery, I think you would find the cost prohibative!!

    That is if BT even considered doing it.

    I'm getting 37/8 on the old infinity 2 - it's perfectly adequate, and with all the problems with the new infinity 2, I'm hoping that I am not forced into an upgrade - would be nice for a rebate (just saw a flock of pigs flying by in the rain).

    Hi

    I need to get JDBC Connections to 2 different Schemas on 1 DB ( Oracle ) using 2 different JNDIs

    [org.jboss.resource.connectionmanager.CachedConnectionManager] Closing a connection for you. Please close them yourself: org.jboss.resource.adapter.jdbc.WrappedConnection@195dda9

    I get this error in spite of Closing both the Connections finally in my Business Objects ?

    Note: - All other Business Objects use single Connection using 1 JNDI and have no problems with them.

    with regards

    DB:2.27:Need To Get Jdbc Connections To 2 Different Schemas 8s

    Hi

    Sorry for the Late Reply ....

    Through a JBoss DataSource pool?

    Yes I am using the JBOSS Datasource pool using JNDI

    I fetch the Connection from wrapper Object

    [ Declaration skipped ]

    try { connx = ODS.getConnection(); WCP = (WrappedConnection)connx; underlyingConn = WCP.getUnderlyingConnection(); connx = (OracleConnection)underlyingConn;} catch (SQLException sqlex) { sqlex.printStackTrace();}

    And close the Connection as

    try {//Close WRAPPER ConnectionWCP.close(); }catch (Exception e) {

    Note:-I am not using "con.close();" instead using "WCP.close();" cause of Class Cast Exception for EXISTING ORACLE PLSQL's Call with in java methods.and using the same we see in JMX Connections being released.

So that I have and I have to do a (small) redesign of the database from time to time add/delete columns for the underlying tables. I can replace the tables in VS, but the scheme will stay the same. No additional columns are recoginzed ...

    DB:2.26:Compare Table Structures In Different Schemas. Help Please z7

    Hi all,

    I have a question...

    I have tables on different schemas some thing like

    Schema A
    -------------
    Table 1
    Table 2
    Table 3

    Schema B
    ------------
    Table 1
    Table 2
    Table 3

    Now situation is Table 1 and Table 2 will have similar structure or Table 1 in Schema B will have additional columns.

    like so... on... for all other tables...

    example !

    Schema A:

    Desc Table 1;

    Name Type Null
    ------------- ------- -------
    No Number Notnull
    Name Varchar2(10) Not null
    Fee Number (10,2) Not null

    Scheam B;

    Desc Table1;

    Name Type Null
    ------------- ------- -------
    DX_No Number Notnull
    DX_Name Varchar2(10) Not null
    DX_Fee Number (10,2) Not null
    comments Varchar(2) Now I need to write a procedure sort of thing to compare these tables which are in different in column names in both schema and get it exported to Excel sheet.
    and here thing is first three columns SHOULD BE TREATED AS SAME even though prefix of DX_ exist since REST OF THE PART OF COLUMN NAME IS SAME.

    and in same way commets is new coloumn in schema B only..So that should be highlighted excel sheets..

    I am not sure how OAD or SQL Developer handle this...Is there any plsql block I can write to do above..

    Thanks in advance..

    DB:2.26:What Procedure Should I Use? f1

    Hi Experts,

    We ask people to draw clocks for us. We used to score the clocks manually. there are about 100 data points (100 variables), most of variables are categorical (example: is the clock outline present? 0=No, 1=Yes, 2=outline is not a circle); Now people use digital pens to draw the clocks so the data would be generated automatically. I need to find out how good the automatically generated data is by camparing it with the manually scored data (I have 300 observations). What should I do?

    Any help is highly appreciated!

    DB:2.26:Unsupported Columns kz

    Oracle eBusiness suite is being used throughout the company. Streams was chosen to replicate data to a seperate database, however there is a high number of unsupported columns in their modules - typically ROWID's or user-defined types.

    1 or 2 tables I wouldn't be too worried about writing custom code around to piece together data. However, having to pull from several schemas with some of those schemas containing 40 or more unsupported columns I'm concerned about the complexity and reliability of the data at the destination.

    Have you had to deal with large numbers of unsupported columns in tables that you've been required to replicate to another db and if so how did you best solve the problem?

    Thanks - Brian

    DB:2.26:Unsupported Columns kz

    I have a database environment running both MM and Streams replication. We are in the process of migrating from MM to Streams. So I need to have it both running for a while. So far so good.

    Note that MM replication queue is on the disk and the enqueuing operation of the MM replication is logged transaction. When you have Streams replication on the same database, Streams capture will have to read all these transactions and ignore at the rule evaluation time. Another wastage of CPU cycles by the reader process.

    Out of the 20 schemas I have, 17 of them are still on MM replication and 3 of them are in Streams replication. Three sites with 3-way bi-directional replication.

    DB:2.24:Report And Graph Simultaneously In Excel 1p

    Hi:

    The only ways to create output from SAS that can be opened in Excel are (using SAS methods):

    1) Export methods: PROC Export/Libname engine (only supports Tables)

    2) ODS CSV: creates comma-separated files (only supports Tables)

    3) ODS HTML: creates HTML files and links to external lt;IMGgt; tags -- HTML files CAN be opened and rendered in Excel. However ALL the output goes on 1 sheet in 1 workbook by default.

    4) ODS TAGSETS.EXCELXP: creates Spreadsheet Markup Language files from SAS Tabular output -- also allows multiple worksheets automatically, but, due to a Microsoft restriction, Spreadsheet Markup Language files cannot contain graphic images of any kind.

    5) Using the SAS Add-in for Microsoft Office (as part of the Enterprise Intelligence Platform, you could perform tasks or run stored processes to populate every sheet.

    From the above list, using SAS methods, #3 creating an HTML file is the way that you could create your table and graph There are several ODS destinations to choose from: ODS HTML3, ODS HTML, ODS MSOFFICE2K, ODS PHTML, ODS CHTML, etc, etc. However, the basic limitation for HTML files is that 1 HTML file = 1 sheet in 1 workbook. So if even if you created multiple HTML files, each file with 1 table and 1 lt;IMGgt; tag for the graph, then Excel, by default, would open each separate HTML file into 1 separate workbook. But, Excel -does- have a method whereby you can link separate HTML files together so they open in one workbook, each HTML file as a separate sheet -- however, this is dependent on Microsoft's specification for how to link multiple HTML files together. And the Microsoft specification requires that all the files be physically located together in a specific directory/subdirectory structure.

    However, SAS does not automatically create the structure that Microsoft wants in order to display multiple HTML files in one workbook -- each file on one worksheet. For example, Microsoft wants files to be in this structure: Re: Report and Graph simultaneously in excel

    c:\temp\Main_Report.html or c:\temp\Main_Report.xls

    c:\temp\Main_Report_files\ lt;-- is a subdir under the main dir

    c:\temp\Main_Report_files\filelist.xml

    c:\temp\Main_Report_files\file1.html

    c:\temp\Main_Report_files\file1.png

    c:\temp\Main_Report_files\file2.html

    c:\temp\Main_Report_files\file2.png

    c:\temp\Main_Report_files\mystyle.css https://communities.sas.com/b

    If you are going to create LINKED HTML files -- so that each HTML file (for example) would populate 1 worksheet, then your Main_Report.html file might look like this (this is an actual example that I built -- filenames are different than those used above):

    Re: Report and Graph simultaneously in excel

    Then, your filelist.xml file might look like this:

    lt;o:File href="filelist.xml"/gt;

    https://communities.sas.com/pre

    SAS does not automatically create the directory structure or these 2 files -- you might have to do that either manually or programmatically. But SAS will create all the separate HTML files and lt;IMGgt; files for you.

    Alternately, you might investigate other techniques, such as DDE or OLE-DB or Excel Macros or VB scripts to do what you want. Some folks write their tables to multiple worksheets using SAS techniques, such as #1 or #4 and then open Excel and run an Excel macro or VB script to insert the graphs (using Excel) and then resave the file as an XLS file.

    DB:2.24:Is It Possible To Remove Xmlschema Restriction From An Xmltype Column? 8f

    I have an XMLType column that is validated via some XMLSchema. Now I want to remove this restriction and make it just a generic XMLType column.
    I tried bunch of alter table commands but I couldn't figure out the magic combination.
    Is this possible?

    Here is the actual problem. Unfortunately, we ended up both local and global schemas using the same URL. We have customers
    out there with both schemas (early customers) or only global schema (new customers). Most of the tables were created before the global schema
    was added. So, they are referencing the local schema. Now we want to evolve our schema, and I am trying to write a sql script to clean-up this mess.

    My plan is:
    if only global schema exists then (these are late customers)
    - do nothing
    else if both global and local schema exist then (these are early customers)
    - If any table or table.column has dependency on local schema (I can find this out from user_dependencies) I am going to mark those
    tables/columns as no schema validated. i.e. remove all references to local schema
    - delete and purge the local schema
    - modify those tables/columns and make them point to the global schema
    end if
    - evolve the schema (only global one is left)

    Is there a better way/plan? Is there a way to modify a column definition and move its reference from local schema to global schema where
    both schemas have the same URL?
    Of course the main constraint is that we do not want to loose customer data. By the way, both local and global schemas are identical in terms of xsd.

    I guess a more generic question would be, is it possible to change XMLSchema/Element settings of an XMLType column from X to Y, X to null, or null to X? (Of course the assumption is Y is a superset of X.)

    DB:2.24:Is It Possible To Remove Xmlschema Restriction From An Xmltype Column? 8f

    Couple of Questions ?

    Which verson of the database...

    Are you using the XML DB repository to provide path based access to the XML Content.

    In general

    1. You cannot break the associated between a table and it's schema..

    So if I understand waht you want to do you will have to do something different..

    Copy the data into a non schema based table (Either XMLType Store AS CLOB or XMLType store as SecureFile Binary XML).
    YOu probably want to invoke the createNonSchemaBasedXML() operator when inserting the XML non schema based table.

    Once all the data is copied, delete and purge the local schema, and all of it's types and tables.

    Create a new table based on the Global Schema.

    Copy the database back into the new table..

    I know two data copies are a PITA, but I can think of no other way of doing this. The Schema Based XML representation contains references that can only be decoded by using the XML Schema that was used to encode the references. This appies to both Schema Based Binary XML and Object Relational Storage.

    DB:2.23:Db Growth - How To Indentify? 9x

    Hi,

    I need to identify the db growth as it is improved 300% with in 4 days. The db is in no archive mode and administrated on Windows 2003 32 bit versions Oracle 9i Rel 2. We do daily export of the database and every week we do cold back up. The only thing I got is export log files on that particular day when the db growth is identified and of course alert log files. Is there any specific procedure that we can identify the tables/schemas with the actually db growth? Because this makes us sure to keep a track on those schemas or on those paticular tables. Please suggest me with the ecessities to identify those tables/schemas.

    Is there any procedure to indentify the size of the schemas/tables. So that it helps me to indentify the growth of the particular schema!

    Thanks

    DB:2.23:Scenarios c8

    Hi Achary,

    Please find the below solutions:

    1. 4 tables in the same database in 4 different schemas. have to load in1 target (oracle table) ensuring no duplicates.best approach from performance perspective.

    solution1#: if you have access to other 3 schemas from one schema, you can write SQL override

    in Source Qualifier Transformation (select * from schema1.Table1 union select * from

    schema2.Table2 union select * from schema3.Table3 union select * from schema4.Table4)

    solution2#: if you have not access to other 3 schemas from one schema, you can use union transformation to merge the data coming from all 4 sources and then use sorter or aggregator transformations to remove duplicates.

    2. source flat file - target oracle

    need to load 1st, last and middle record

    Please find the attached mapping to implement this scenario.

    3.

    two tables with columns

    client_no1,client_no2,client_no3,client_no4

    clientno,start date

    need to find the oldest client no

    1. join the two sources using joiner transformation

    2. sort the data in ascending order based on start date column using sorter transformation.

    3. implement the below logic in expression transformation:
    in_Clientnoin_Start_Datein_Clientno1in_Clientno2in_Clientno3in_Clientno4v_cntIIF(in_Start_Date=v_Prev_Start_Date,v_cnt,v_cnt+1)out_Filterv_cntv_Prev_Start_Datein_Start_Date

    4. Filter the data in filter transformation using the filter condtion as: out_Filter=1

    We have 6 schemas created on a single instance. Each schema represents a client/business. There is a data dependency among these 6 schemas. These schemas hold their own set of table in their corresponding schemas. The suggested approach is to create a 7th schema and put all the code that is related to the first 6 schemas in it. Is this a good approach/model? Please share your thoughts.

    hello all!
    please, help me again.

    we have a foreign key discrepancy and my task is to create a view which will show the 3 aspects.

    Let's we have 3 schemas: A - good (which means that i will compare WITH A, source)
    B and C are bad (which mean that I will checking this schemas).
    So, i need to obtain:
    1) FK that DO NOT exist in BC and do exist in A
    2) FK that DO exist in bad schemas (BC) but DO NOT exist in good schema (A)
    3) FK's that exist in both (AB, AC) schemas on the SAME TABLE, have THE SAME CONSTRAINT_NAME but are on the DIFFERENT columns.

    the first and second I seem to be done through the

    select CONSTRAINT_NAME, TABLE_NAME, STATUS from dba_constraints where owner='PRIV_MD' and CONSTRAINT_TYPE='R' and CONSTRAINT_NAME
    2 NOT IN (select CONSTRAINT_NAME from dba_constraints where owner ='MSA_MD'); (to get the second task we just reversing owners in query and subquery)

    query. but the third one is really pain in my back. i have a query:

    SELECT a.column_name, b.column_name FROM dba_cons_columns a, dba_cons_columns b, dba_constraints c, dba_constraints d
    WHERE c.CONSTRAINT_TYPE='R'
    AND a.CONSTRAINT_NAME = b.CONSTRAINT_NAME
    AND a.CONSTRAINT_NAME = c.CONSTRAINT_NAME
    AND b.CONSTRAINT_NAME = d.CONSTRAINT_NAME
    AND a.owner = 'PRIV_MD' AND b.owner = 'MSA_MD';

    which runs hours and returns million of rows with the two columns with the same names... but if i'm adding

    AND a.column_name != a.column_name (i'm not sure it's a correct syntax)

    line it returns "no rows selected"

    please, help me obtain it, i'm fighting already the second day..

    Currently we are using SQL*Loader scripts to export the tables that are having NON-CLOB columns.
    Tables which are having CLOB columns we are using EXP IMP.

    Hi,

    As for RCU, it is used to create multiple schemas to support different Oracle Fusion Middleware products.

    If you run through the schemas, you can see a variety of products related objects like EPM, HSS, BIP, RTD, OBIEE etc.
    So, some EPM System products use these Middleware technologies, and hence you must use RCU to create the required schemas to support the Middleware infrastructure.

    Hope this helps.

    DB:2.23:Synchronization Of 2 Can Ports With An M-Series Daq Card d1

    Hi,

    The time difference has a simple reason. Since every NI CAN board has one timing source, you have two different sources if you try to synchronize two NI CAN boards.

    The timing source becomes initialized when the ncopen function is called. But because the open function is called twice for both boards approx 5 to 10 ms appart, you can see this difference within the timestamps.

    But the good part is you have the start trigger frame timestamps and the timebases are synchronized. That means the gap between the timestamps should be constant and can be subtracted from the later one.

    On a two port board the timing source is the same and the difference is only the processing time in assigning the timestamps onboard.

    Hope that helps.

    This means that 2 indexes in 2 different schemas are based on the same columns. I need to identify such indexes so I can then have the same names for all such indexes.
    Because the index is the same in both schemas for the same table but have different names. The idea is to standardize the indexes.

    example 2

    Schemna name: LMN
    Index name : I2
    Table name : A
    columns name : col1, col2

    Schema name : PQR
    Index name : I9
    Table name : A
    columns name: col1, col2, col3

    Query should return:

    Index Name Table Columns
    I2 A col1 , col2
    I9 A col1 , col2, col3

    This means that in different schema's the indexes are actually the same but are based on different number of columns. I need to identfy such indexes and then standardize them in both schemas.

    DB:2.22:Camparing Property With Node Name In 2 Different Version kd

    Hi Guru,Please help me to extract a report or build validation for comparing the property value of a node in a heirarchy (say Hierarchy 1) of version (Say version 1) against the differnet property value of a node from another heirarchy (Say Hierarchy 2) in another version (say version 2). For example , I need to validate that the property value for node in Hierarcy 1 of version1 exists in Hierarchy 2 of version2 and is enabled. Property value in Hierarchy 1 is same as Node name in heirarchy 2.Thanks

    DB:2.22:Camparing Property With Node Name In 2 Different Version kd

    Thanks Guys,I brought hierarchies in the same version and then I was able to compare and was able to refer the values in formula, However do you think that Oracle should provide functionality to refer hierarchies from different versions in formula or in validations, or this functionality is intentionally not provided?Thanks

    DB:2.22:Primary Keys And Constraints Are Gone.... 1z

    Hi Experts,

    I had a schema SchemaD with all primary keys and referential constraints. And i am a TOAD user. I had one more source schema SchemaS.

    In my destination schema all the tables has 2 extra columns for data warehouse purpose.

    I disabled all the constraints and i used toad utility "Copy Data to Another Schema" and i selected all the tables from Source SchemaS.

    After the completion of data copy i tried to enable all the constraints in SchemaD. But i found that there are no primary keys and referential integrates in that schema.

    Please help me in this issue.

    Thanks...
    Ray

    May be you need to logout as TOAD user login as SCHEMAD user and try enabling the constraints/Keys
