    JBO -25004: Definition name for type View Definition is invalid

    DB:3.44:Jbo -25004: Definition Name For Type View Definition Is Invalid pp

    Solution:

    this is due to wrong View name in the page for a specific Item. each item in the page check the VO.

    this might happen either if u miss spilled the VO or if u change VOs to new AM because this AM might use a different VO instance name than the previous AM

    Hi Shiv,

    Do you have any other suggestion for my problem?

    DB:3.42:Re: Getting Jbo-25004: Definition Name For Type View Definition Is Invalid sk

    hi

    use jdr_utils package

    1.) u get the complete path of seeded VO,which is extended and u want to remove the extension,then list out the personalization on it like this

    begin
    jdr_utils.listCustomizations('/oracle/............./VO)
    end;

    it will list out the personalization on VO

    2.) then u can delete the extension like

    begin
    jdr_utils.deleteDocument('/oracle/......./site/0....../VO)
    end;

    thanx

    DB:2.96:Adf 11g: Exception Handling Problem 81

    Hi All,

    Using Jdeveloper 11.1.1.2.0. I have an ADF form. User will enter the value of primary key also.When I am trying to Save the data by giving the primary key value which already exist,
    I am getting following exceptions in Popup:-

    Error
    Messages for this component are listed below.

    Error
    +Too many objects match the primary key oracle.jbo.Key[RESERVE ].+
    Error
    Attribute LocationType in RootAM.LocationAM1.LocationTypeVO1 is required.
    Error
    Attribute LocationType in LocationTypeEO is required.

    In the log I am getting following exceptions:-
    Exception = oracle.jbo.TooManyObjectsException: JBO-25013: Too many objects match the primary key oracle.jbo.Key[RESERVE ].
    Exception = oracle.jbo.TxnValException: JBO-27023: Failed to validate all rows in a transaction.
    Exception = oracle.jbo.TxnValException: JBO-27023: Failed to validate all rows in a transaction.

    My requirement is to show a user friendly message to user like "Record already exist with value given in primary key field". I have tried this by creating a custom error handling class which extends DCErrorHandlerImpl as below:-

    public void reportException(DCBindingContainer bc, Exception ex) {
    BindingContext ctx = bc.getBindingContext();
    String err_code = null;
    System.out.println("Exception = "+ ex);
    if ( ex instanceof TxnValException){
    // Handle JBO-27023
    err_code = ((TxnValException)ex).getErrorCode();
    if (new Integer(err_code).intValue() == 27023 ){
    //this.getDisplayMessage(ctx, ex);
    System.out.println("handle JBO-27023");
    }
    }
    if(ex instanceof oracle.jbo.TooManyObjectsException)
    {
    FacesContext context = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    context.addMessage(null, new FacesMessage(FacesMessage.SEVERITY_ERROR, "Record already exist ", null));
    }
    }

    Though with above approuch I am getting "Record already exist" instead of "Too many objects match the primary key oracle".But Still I am getting following error messages also in popup:-
    Error
    Attribute LocationType in RootAM.LocationAM1.LocationTypeVO1 is required.
    Error
    Attribute LocationType in LocationTypeEO is required.

    (1)How can I remove the above messages in popup. (2)And is there any better approuch of exception handling then this in ADF 11g?

    Thanks in Advance,
    Vikram

    Thanks so much for your prompt reply. FYI, as a user new to JDeveloper, I got stuck on an early tutorial -- "Initializing the Batch Client" -- which directs me to add JBO Runtime, JBO Oracle Domains libraries and then import them via
    import oracle,jbo.*;
    import oracle,jbo.client.*;
    import oracle.jbo.domain.Number;
    So, can I ignore these imports and assume the classes came in with the BC4J Runtime?

    Hi edwingt,

    From the "Connection Navigator", find your database connection, go "properties", then in the "Test" tab, try to test your connection. Is the test successful?
    If no, correct the database connection parameters until having your test successful.
    If yes, open the bc4j.xcfg file associated to the application module triggerring the error and check the parameters related to the connection. You should be able to find something inconsistent with the needed parameters for your connection.

    DB:2.75:Exception In The Oracle10g Application Server ka

    Hi Triveni,

    You said: "...it is working fine for some time(2-3 days) and again it is repeating". Also we can suppose your connections are correct. I'm quite not sure but it sounds like if your connection pool is getting empty after some use. If you have not already did it, have a look on this part of the ADFBC guide: http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/html/B25947_01/bcampool.htm

    May be you could post the part of the OAS log including the error message, it could contains more details.

    Sorry to have no immediate solution, hope you will find something,
    Best regards,
    Tif

    PS: try to post your problem on the Jdeveloper forum too, this error could be linked to some settings in the application modules and not in the OAS

    Not that I'm aware. I hope someone with a decent understanding of MySQL will create one, though. There's some great examples in the JDeveloper documentation on how to do that.

    Hi Peter,
    The process of resolving the transitive closure of a large set of java classes (like the BC4J framework) can be quite memory intensive in JServer for the resolution phase.

    You can alleviate this problem by turning the verifier (-noverify option) off.
    That will speed up the resolution process a bit.

    Also in your init.ora file check the java pool size and if it is less than 50 MB, do increase it to 50 MB or larger (The higher the better.)

    Hope this helps,

    DB:2.68:10.1.3.4 - Adf Noclassdeffounderror: Oracle/Jbo/Jboexception 81

    we figured out that the issue started happening after one of the developer added a custom jar file to the specific j2ee container. If I remove the jar file and the related entries from application.xml and server.xml, the issue goes away, meaning I am able to deploy. But then the question becomes how can I make both work together, the custom jar file as well as ADF deployment ? The custom jar file has 3-4 classes and are for integrating with an external document management system.

    I created a directory tsrs under c:\program files\allaire\jrun\servers\default and copies all my jar zip files and connection.properties, TsrsJsp_TsrsBCPack_TsrsBCPackModule.properties into my tsrs directory. I then modified the local.properties to append c:\program files\allaire\jrun\servers\default\tsrs into my user.classpath session.

    I copied all my JSP files into c:\program files\allaire\jrun\servers\default\default-app directory. I also copied webapp\cabo\images (contains all my images and css file) directory to default-app directory.

    The detailed error message is followed:

    Help please......

    DB:2.64:Help - Depoly Bc4j,Jsp On Jrun 3.0 Error sj

    I am able to run the main.jsp now, but I encounter another strange problem. If I run my one jsp which contains a master/details (8 view objects), then I am never able to run them. The worst thing is that no any other JSP can run after that point. The administrator found that there is a process javaw occupied 99% of CPU time. Can anyone tell me what's going on?

    DB:2.63:Jbo-26061: Error While Opening Jdbc Connection. 1c

    I assume you're getting the error when you try to run one of the JSPs?

    Make sure that you have deployed the classes12.zip file to the web server, as well as all of the other necessary archives (the exact list will depend on how you deployed your BC4J project - see the online help for details). The classes12.zip file contains the JDBC driver classes. The directory where you deploy this archive and all other dependency archives must be on your webserver's classpath.

    Make sure also that your connections.properties and your applicationmodule.properties files are deployed, and are in a directory on the webserver's classpath. Both of these properties files are needed to make the connection to the database.

    DB:2.61:Adf Lov Causing Jbo 27014 Required Error kc

    The form is based on a vo which is based on a eo? The lov is model driven and based on an vo too?
    In this case it should spiteful automatically.
    If you use s lov as dynamic list then you have to mask the index of the selected lov element to the key value yourself.

    For more info about model driven lov read http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/issue-archive/2011/11-jul/o40adf-402600.html

    Hi,

    This sounds like a JDeveloper/ADF issue that is not related to JHeadstart. To simplify the test case, you could create a simple drag-and-drop ADF application without JHeadstart and see if the same problem occurs there. Can you please log a TAR at MetaLink ( http://metalink.oracle.com/ ), or ask this question at the JDeveloper forum at http://otn.oracle.com/discussionforums/jdev.html ?

    I had the same problem too, testing JSP sampples as well as OnlineOrder BC4J JSP sample. I run 9iAS on Windows NT, and found that the installation comes with some UNIX -type directory entries mixed up with the Windows-type entries for classpath, such as:
    $ORACLE_HOME\jsp/lib.....

    Once I corrected all of these, it worked fine.

    Hi all,

    I'm using JDeveloper 10.1.3 production and i'm creating an application using ADF BC and JSF.

    I'm trying to throw a JboException in a custom service method in my application module class and then catch it somewhere in my JSF application. I tried catching it where Oracle generates the binding code and executes it but it wont catch it there. Its still raising the error but i'm getting a JBO-20900 error also as below:

    JBO-29000: Unexpected exception caught: oracle.jbo.JboException, msg=JBO-101: This is an error message
    JBO-101: This is an error message

    Is there any way to stop this and have it just display the original message eg.

    JBO-101: This is an error message

    Any help would be appreciated as I'v spent hours trying to work this out to no avail.

    It is quite urgent so if anyone can offer any advice at all please dont hesitate to let me know.

    Thanks

    Because 10.1.3 preview comes without ADF you have to add more libraries. Some of the classes are in directory DevSuiteHome\BC4J\jlib. I don't know which you need, but you can open the jars and look for the missing classes yourself.

    all it says is that a View Object referenced from the application does not exist. However, this is an Oracle Applications environment you are reporting the problem for and thus should be filed on one of the OAFramework forums here on OTN

    Hello,

    what do I have to do,
    in order to get the "oracle.*.jbo"-Exceptions
    translated into german?

    Can I write my own try-catch/exception blocks
    before "committing"?. If this is possible,
    where do I have to place them?

    greetings.

    DB:2.55:Urgeeeeeent: Oracle Jbo-Exceptions 39

    Hi,
    in a JDev1012 environment, you can find the 'resource string' in a zip called '....\JDeveloper1012\BC4J\src\bc4j-messages.zip'. Extract the file CSMessageBundle_de.java and rename the class to your own class name (don't forget to rename the constructor, too), e.g. MyApplicationEMessageBundle_de.
    Register the new class in the model project. Open the 'Buisiness Component Project' editor (double click on the JPX file) and go to tab 'Options'. There you can register your message bundle.
    When your application runs with a 'DE' locale the error messages are translated into German using your message bundle.

    ciao Markus

    Benny,

    No, unfortunately since the JDG does not generate the BC4J components itself any more, but rather lets the ADF BC Generator do this, we have no way to steer this process in such a detailed way. The JDG hints end up in the Application Structure File and in the 'Custom Properties' of the generated Entity and ViewObjects, but are not used in the 'standard' BC information that is created by the ADF BC Generator (such as association end names).

    Finally, I found that I was using the method createViewObjectFromQueryClauses that created a view object. Having activated the ADF State Management mechanism, the above exception occured. Perhaps for some reason, the definition of this view didn't exist to be cleared. When I replaced this method with a simple select Statement, everything worked fine.
    Thanks, anyway

    DB:2.53:Shuttle Bean Trailing List - Not To Populate fa

    Hi,
    I am on RUP6 with the shuttle bean that has both leading and traling lists.
    I don't want the trailing list to be pre-populated.
    The DEV guide states that
    "Note: If you do not want to pre-populate the trailing list when the page initially renders, you can leave the Picklist View Definition, Picklist View Instance, Picklist Display Attribute, Picklist Value Attribute and Picklist Description Attribute blank. OA Framework takes care of retaining user selected values in the trailing list when the page refreshes"

    But if I follow the above and leave them blank I am getting this error

    oracle.apps.fnd.framework.OAException: oracle.jbo.InvalidDefNameException: JBO-25004: Definition name for type View Definition is invalid

    Any idea?

    Thank you
    Anatoliy

    DB:2.53:Shuttle Bean Trailing List - Not To Populate fa

    Thanks, Gyan, it worked.

    It looks like one needs to clean up the xml file manually after VO for the trailing lits was ever set in JDeveloper and removed later.

    In other words you can not have this in the XML

    ui:trailing
    oa:list id="list2" pickListViewDef="" pickListDispAttr="" pickListValAttr="" multiple="true"/
    /ui:trailing

    but you can have this:

    ui:trailing
    oa:list id="list4"/

    /ui:trailing

    It looks like when you manually "remove" the view definition from the trailing lits in jdeveloper it keeps it in xml as above and that's what causing the problem.

    Best Regards

    Anatoliy

    We have JSP application written on JBO 3.1. Application works in stateless mode and we don't using Data Web beans.

    When we running this application under JBO 3.2.2 it give us exception

    "oracle.jbo.InvalidOwnerException: JBO-25302: Component object AccountsView has no parent"

    which is related to problem with improper Application Module releasing mode.

    We understand that "release mode" is not correctly configured but we can't find any documentation how to do it in case if not data web bean used.

    Hashtable info = new Hashtable();
    info.put(JboContext.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY,JboContext.JBO_CONTEXT_FACTORY);
    info.put(JboContext.DEPLOY_PLATFORM, "LOCAL");
    info.put("IsStateLessRuntime", "true");

    pool = PoolMgr.getInstance().getPool("StoreModule");
    }

    }

    According to the Oracle documentation, "IsStateLessRuntime" key is not used in JBO 3.2.2 and "RELEASE_MODE" used instead. We have tried to use new key but it doesn't help.

    the application remotable to be deployed as a corba object in

    are occuring during resolving.

    Hi,
    .
    BC4J internally implements support for J2EE application sensitive "singletons". One of these singletons is BC4J's MetaObjectManager which is responsible for managing the runtime instances of your BC4J component metadata. BC4J uses the current thread's application context to locate the right "singleton" in a Dictionary. In this case, the currentThread does not have the correct context set and the exception is thrown.
    .
    This issue was reported a number of times in 9.0.2 and AFAIK has been resolved in 9.0.4 (not sure about 9.0.3). The workaround is to set the following VM property:
    .
    jbo.server.in_oc4j=false
    .
    which disables the application context sensitive singletons. The side effect of this change is that all J2EE applications will share the same namespace for their BC4J component metadata and BC4J ApplicationPools.
    .
    Hope this helps.
    .
