DB:3.75:"Invalid Wep Key" Error On 7410 All-In-On Wireless Set Up kx

My 7410 has been connected wirelessly for over a year but I just installed a new router (Linksys N600) and can't get the wireless connection back up. All other wireless devices are connecting to the new router. Using WPA2-PSK[AES] security on router. Using installation wizard on front panel of printer and it is locating network SSID fine. But only allowing for WEP key and giving me error code every time it is entered. Have tried to change length of key on router to 5 or 13 characters and also tried 10 HEX digits. Have powered off/on the printer and restored to factory network settings. No luck with anything. The Cisco router I previously had installed was also an N router - no problems connecting the 7410 wirelessly but swapped it out because of too many lost connections. Any advice?

If your WEP key is all alphabet then it is not WEP, it is WPA or WPA2. As discussed above, this printer will not accept WPA2.

Get into your router settings and change your wireless security type to WPA or WPA/WPA2 (you can keep the same passphrase).

What authentication encryption does a 7410 printer support on wireless? I use wpa2 but when I try to install it on the network, it only asks for a WEP key. Is there any way to reconfig the printer to take wpa or do I need to change my network to wep?

Good point. I think you just need to verify if it is AES or TKIP set on your printer.

So I go to the screen to see all of my network connection choices and I see my network listed, with strong signal, and the word 'connected' by it. I choose that network again. Hi all,

I purchased my new iMac two days ago and currently using the internet via an ethernet cable plugged into my Netgear router. However, I would prefer to use the built in wirless connection.

When I went to set up the connection AirPort detected my router but was I was unable to connect as it required a password. I assumed this was the WEP key I was using, but when typed in it came up as 'Password Invalid'. I do not recall setting up any other password on my network. I then disabled the WEP security feature and was able to get on the internet (wirelessly) fine.

I know the wireless connection works through the WEP key as a laptop and a PC are also on my network.

Any help on how to get my iMac working through the WEP key would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

Reset the settings on the front of the printer: Setup Network Reset Network Defaults. Now, from the same Network menu, run the Wireless Setup Wizard.

You will then have to add your printer to your computer:

    1. Make sure the printer is turned on and connected to your network. Verify that you can access the printer's internal web page by browsing to its IP address before continuing.2. Click Start Control panel Printers.3. Click the Add a printer4. Select Local printer5. Select Create a new port and select Standard TCP/IP Port and click Next button.6. Under Device type, select TCP/IP Device. Under Hostname or IP address, enter the printer's host name (found on the printer's network configuration report the generated above). Click Next.If you get a message about Additional Port Information Required, then the printer was not found using the host name. You can go back and retry or using the printer's IP address instead of the host name.7. Select Hewlett-Packard from the list of manufacturers and select and select your printer model. Click Next.If your printer model was not listed, then select Have Disk, browse the HP CD that came with your printer and select the first file that starts with hp and ends with inf. Click Open then OK. Select your printer model. Click Next.8. If you are asked, use the currently installed driver.9. It will ask for the Printer name -- enter a new name or use the existing one. This will be the name of the printer that you select from other applications.10. You may be asked to share the printer. Say NO and click Next.11. The Print Test Page box appears. Those passwords are case sensitive, are there any capital letters in your password or perhaps any symbols? You don't need to tell me what the whole password its but if there are any symbols just let me know which one(s).

I have a Mac powerbook G4 running OS 10.4.11 and a Apple extreme N wireless router with WPA 2 security protection. My Officejet 7410 suddenly lost its capability to join the network.

Whenever I try to run the wireless set up wizard on the 7410, it finds my network as an available network to join, but then asks me to enter a WEP password. I enter my password, the gears spin on the printer display for a minute or so, and then it displays that it is unable to join the network.

Since the apple extreme is using WPA 2 security protocols, is the reason the printer isn't able to join the network because its trying to use WEP protocols? I performed a Semi Full Reset, and then a Full Reset, to no avail. I've also tried selecting the option "restore factory settings" from the set up menu with no success.

I am able to connect to the printer using a USB cable, but the whole reason I bought it in the first place was because of the freedom of its wifi capabilities.

    Hi BobA13,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand that you cannot get your HP Officejet 7410 to accept a WPA key. I am happy to help with this connection issue!

This printer will support WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) key or WPA/PSK (Wi-Fi Protected Access/Pre-Shared Key). According to your printer's user guide found at this website. HP Officejet 7410 All-in-One Printer User guides. The printer will not support WPA2. As that came out after the printer was made.

You can always try plugging in an Ethernet cable from the printer to the router. That will bypass the wireless security. Or changethe securityon the router to WEP.

Otherwise, you can upgrade your printer to a new one that supports WPA2.

Hope this information answers your question, and have a great day!

WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy)WEP is an 802.11 standard encryption algorithm originally designed to provide your wireless LAN with the same level of privacy available on a wired LAN. A new IV sequencing discipline to detect replay attacks

A cryptographic message integrity Check (MIC), called Michael, to detect forgeries such as bit flipping and altering packet source and destination

    Hi,

    i have a Photosmart c309 g printer.

I have been on phone with the tech for almost 8 hrs but with no solution. The end result being, they suggested to replace the printer.

when i and also with assistance with the technician, ran the Wireless setup wizard, my network is detected. when i hit ok on it, it prompts for WEP. Then i enter it, it displays connecting and then displays "ERROR " "Invalid WEP".

Below are the other few steps i tried.........

a the printer was RESET , i guess it was SemiFull Reset . Then we tried running the wireless setup wizard, and it ended up with the same error"ERROR " "Invalid WEP".

b we installed through USB to have it in wireless .... the same issue.

c the tech asked me have the WEP key changed. I called my Router mfd and got the WEP key changed to only Numbers ( earlier it was alphanumeric ) , we then tried running the wireless setup wizard .. we got the same error message.

d We also tried Manually adding the IP, subnet mask and default gateway .... but the ping does not work. It says 100% loss.

The tech concluded that it could be a problem with the printer wireless circuit . hence advised to replace the printer.

I am returning the printer to the stores in a day or 2days. Let me know if "returning the printer " is the right thing to do or is there anyone over here who could suggest me steps to resolve it.

We just purchased Cisco AP350 and I'm wanting to use WEP but when I go to the security--Radio Data Encryption (WEP). I get the following message at the top of the screen "Use of Data Encryption by Stations is: Not Available

Must set an Encryption Key or enable Broadcast Key Rotation first " I then when to Network ports---Ap Radio---advanced and put 900 in the "Broadcast WEP Key rotation interval (sec):" Once I did that I went back to security and the options of "no encryption, optional encryption, and full encryption" were there but when I put in a key it would give me an error message saying it was an invalid field. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?? I don't know if I want to enable the broadcast key rotation or not and I can't find any other location to put in a Encryption key...Thanks in advance.....BMC

WEP Encryption for Aironet 352 using iPAQ

In the ACU there is a setting named WEP

    This Setting has Two values

    Dissabled and Enabled

    Now, I want to know, when enabled . . . .

A: Can it handle 128bit Encryption

B: If not can it Handle 64bit

C: If not what is the point in having WEP

D: If it can, then where do I put my 4 Keys for 64bit or my Hex key for 128bit?

I am pretty sure that I am up-to-date with all the new drivers to the Aironet 352 for the Win CE, and any new firmware for the PMICIA card that I may require.

I have my CEM (Client Encryption Manager) but Any type of password/key I put in here, I always get an error message stating "Please Enter The Correct Password"

Is this where I am to put my Hex keys? Or even a PassPhrase? Yet I have tried both, and still get the same message.

I am puttin the Hex key in, in this format:

    112233445566778899AABBCCDD

    Is this Correct?

Or does it need to be in a different layout?

All SSID are the same, so there is not a problem there.

Everything works fine untill the WEP is Enabled on the Access Points/Bridges.

If anyone can help me with this, I would be most grateful.

    Hi @Nateo ,

I see that you are experiencing issues with the fax auto answer, ! and the on button flashing with a error message on the display. I would like to help you resolve this issue.

I would do a hard reset to see if that will resolve the issue.Leave the printer on and unplug the power cable from the printer and wall outlet for 60 seconds. Then reconnect the power cable to the printer and wall outlet rather than a surge protector. This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.

Please check your private messages for additional steps to try.In the forum beside your handle name just click on the envelope to view it.

I am not sure what your question is, but this printer does not and never will work with a WPA2 passphrase.

    You choices are:

    1. Plug the printer into the router with Ethernet (recommended)

    2. Change you router security to WEP or WPA (not recommended)

I dont think that you can from the confg. But you can break wep pretty easy. Download aircrack-ng, generate some traffic and you can get the key in a few minutes. Or if your client uses windows zero config. You can pull the key from the reg file. I made a video doing this here:

DB:2.65:Using Wep W/ Dos Based Pc And 350 Card. xm

If you have windows version you can use that to setup the WEP keys. For the version 5.x there is no explicit mention for the support of DOS.For using DOS version 4.x seems to work fine. The DOS utilities run well under MS-DOS 6.22. For the PCM350 and LM350 PCMCIA cards, the DOS utilities do not use card and socket services for configuring the cards; they program the PCMICIA socket directly. Therefore, an 82365-compatible socket controller is required for proper operation. Many, but not all, socket controllers have this capability. Refer URL

I just got a new FIOS router. It has an "ESSID" (extended SSID) which has 12 hex digits for the WEP/WPA2, instead of the 10 that the old SSID had. HP 7410 printer set-up will not accept 12 digits, only 10 or 26 is the warning message. I cannot get the printer onmy homewireless network now. I have several laptops which I had set up for wireless access with the old router which had a lot of problems - Win 7, Win 8 and Vista, which is why Verizon sent me the upgraded router. I reset the HP 7410 to factory settings, powered down and unplugged for 15 seconds, and held down the #6 on power up. Still no luck. Is there any way to force the printer to accept 12 hex digits for the WEP/WPA2?

Your WEP key has absolutely nothing to do with your wireless signal strength. Move your antenna around or move your computer and router closer together.

I have followed all the steps here: http://community.wdc.com/t5/WD-TV-Live-Networking/Unable-to-obtain-an-IP-address-The-media-player-ha... I cannot get my new WD TV Live to connect to my wireless network. Keep getting a "Unable to obtain IP address" error. However, the strange thing is that if I remove the WEP key on my network, the WD TV is able to connect to it without problems. Why is this? And it wasn't because of a typo. I changed my networks WEP key to 10 zeros and tried connecting the WD TV Live, and it still seem to have failed. Why is this happening? It's just a standard 64-bit wep key.

[Solved] - I switched to a WPA wireless protection instead, and now it works.

    Hi Paislym,

I understand you have an Officejet 7410 that is having issues scanning at the moment. I'm sorry to hear this, but I will do my best to assist you, I just need a bit more information.

    1. Which version of Windows do you have?

    2. Are you initiating the scan from the HP Director, or from the front of the printer?

    3. Have you tried power cycling your network as well as the printer and PC?

    4. When did the error begin? After some updates?

Once I have this information, I should be able to offer some suggestions for you to try!

    Hi Ginny+T,

You can normally find the password written on the bottom of the router.

You can also manually set the wireless settings/password by browsing to: 192.168.0.1 User: admin Pass: sky

I have an HP Officejet 7410 All-in-One and cannot print to it from my network. The network computers find it, but then documents sit in the queue. Troubleshooting says that the printer is disconnected from the wireless network (which begs the question how network computers found it in the first place - i suspect they are finding the one computer in the network that is connected physically to the printer, but that's just a guess). When u run the wireless set-up wizard, the printer finds the proper network, but always asks for a WEP key. However, the network I'm on uses WPA2 Personal security. Is there a way to change the WEP security the printer is defaulting to over to a WPA format so I can connect?

    DB:2.62:Wep Code z1

Page 36 of this wireless guide for the Officjet 7410 indicates WPA2 is not supported. Sorry.

    http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c00389927.pdf

The network will either need to be changed to WEP or WPA for it to work. I recommend using WPA as it is more secure than WEP.

Presumably you have set up the WEP key in the router? If so, go to Control Panel All Control Panel Items Network and Sharing Center Set up a new connection or network Manually Connect to a Wireless Network Next. Type in the Network Name (SSID), select Security Type and type in the key. You may also want to tick ‘Start this connection automatically’ and ‘Connect even if the network is not……‘ Next. Subsequent connections will be automatic.

Enter your router. Go to the "Wireless" tab. Look around for the spot where you set your encryption to WEP. Nearby you will see the passphrase and "key 1". "key 1" is the WEP key that you need to enter into your computer to make the wireless connection to your router.

DB:2.62:Officejet 7410 Not Connecting Via Wifi And Will Not Scan 37

I'm not sure if this post is in the right place, but here goes:

I have an OfficeJet 7410 which was connected to my home network so that I could print/scan wirelessly to/from it from any computer in the house. This had been working well for a while. I am running Windows XP SP 3.

We lost power for a few days during Hurricane Sandy (fortunately that was our only major issue), and when power was restored the 7410 would not connect to the wireless network (we have FiOS). I have checked it and the unit identifies the correct system ID (and I have entered the WEP key), but when I try to install it from the desktop computer, it cannot find the 7410 (the laptop also was not able to find the 7410). The only way I have been able to get the desktop computer to detect the 7410 is to connect it to the router with an ethernet cable (this does not help with the laptop). I also cannot log into the printer wirelessly if I put the IP address into my browser (I am able to do so when it is connected through ethernet). Not sure if this is a firewall issue.

When the 7410 is connected to the router with the ethernet cable, I was able to print to it with no issues. However, I cannot scan from it. When I try scanning, I get the error message "When attempting to scan, Could not find the required user interface file (Please reinstall scanning software)". I have uninstalled and reinstalled the HP software, but I still get this message. I have also followed the instructions here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00516936tmp_task=solveCategorycc=usdlc=enla... but that has not resolved the issue.

This morning I uninstalled the printer with the hope that reinstalling it would fix the scanning issue, but now the computer does not seem able to find the printer, even if it is connected by ethernet.

Hopefully I have given enough information. Any thoughts/comments/suggestions would be appreciated.

I had this same type of problem a while ago. The Cisco DOS drivers require some type of PCMCIA card and socket service to be running. This support is not native to your PC BIOS and needs to be included in your config.sys file. Check w/ your PC vendor to see if they've provided DOS card services for your machine.

    Cheetah12,

Once again, thank you very much for trying to help. However, this printer is critical to our business. I have already reserved another printer at one of our local stores and will be picking it up in the morning. Needless to say, it is NOT an HP printer.

For the record - I've personally been in the IT industry for 37 years, both hardware and software. Hardware error codes should NOT be that hard to determine, and should NOT require the personal information your escalation requested.

We will also be recommending another brand of printer to our clients in the future.

Again, I want to thank you for your attempts to help. I don't place the blame on you at all; rather it is the HP service policies which don't provide you with the necessary information for simple questions such as this. Thank you for your time and your attempts to escalate the problem. But escalation is NOT something you should have had to do.

    NoProblemAtoll wrote:
I know this is an older thread but being it is a top Google result associated with the "Remove and check cartridge on right" error it justifies adding a helpful suggestion for other. Our findings have been HP Printers are very biased against refilled \ recycled cartridges. I own a total of (5)x HP 7310 and HP 7410 printers in my IT Consulting office. These are feature rich MFP’s with an abundant supply of ink available at generously economical prices. On the face of it, it sounds like a good reason to keep a bevy of last gen printers around. EXCEPT the printers work great with the $30-$50 brand new HP brand 96 cartridges from Office Depot or Staples. Unfortunately if you try and buy some recycled cartridges off ebay the Printers detect the recycled\refilled cartridges as a previously depleted HP cartridge that may not be genuine and the units suddenly turn on you. Miraculously the "Remove and check cartridge on right" only manifests itself with non-HP brand cartridges or cartridges that have been refilled. (We have even tried to re-fill out own refreshly depleted cartridges with like results.) Think of it as an HP service reminder conveying you forgot to pay HP their $30-$50 profit on your ink this go round. Remember you need HP Branded ink cartridges (HP = Homogeneously Proprietary). It’s like an intention flaw written into the firmware. Best guess (purely on conjecture) is there is a check in the firmware/drivers for if the cartridges has been previously installed, previously depleted, max install count, and expiration date validation. If it encounters a condition it doesn’t like you get this nondescript error.

    [advertisement snipped]

The above post is filled with conjecture and speculation, but is not based on fact. TheOfficejet7410 is not programmed to reject refilled/remancartridges. It will check cartridges electrically for various things and will reject cartridges that fail. Typical failures would include a crackedprinthead(caused by rough treatment - dropping thecartridgeeven a few inches for example), or open electrical connections caused by debrison thecartridgecontacts. Cleaning thecartridgecontactsas shown in the document here may resolve the issue in case of poor electrical contacts.

A cartridge that has been previously used in a different printer will likely be marked as empty, but the printer will happily print with a cartridge detected as empty.

The reality is that the quality of refill and reman cartridges are very variable, but generally poor. The study here has a study conducted by a testing facility, here isanother study.

My personal experience has been similar. I donated an HP all-in-one to my son's high school years ago. Sometime later I got a call from the teacher complaining that it was not printing properly. I went and took a look and found they had put in a renam color cartridge that was not printing one of the colors*. They tried another cartridge, which also had a problem and then finally the third cartridge worked. I asked why they used renam cartridges and he said they bought these because they were cheaper. I asked if they were 1/3 the cost....

*The color missing had nothing to do with the printer - blotting the bad cartridge on a damp tissue gave only two of the three colors that would normally be present.

I think WEP errors that you are seeing on the Controller has anything to do with the clients dropping connection. May be the clients have some problem staying up or there are holes in the wireless coverage. Signal interference can also make the clients to drop connectivity.

    Hi,

I have WLAN working on PEAP.

I need to understand the working of the Broadcast key and Unicast Key.

It's mentioned in many doc's that during PEAP negociation,

    1. RADIUS Server and Client derive Unicast Key

2.RADIUS server delivers Unicast WEP Key to Access Point.

3.Access Point delivers Broadcast WEP key encrypted with Unicast WEP key to Client.

4.Client and AP activate WEP Key and use broadcast and Unicast WEP keys for transmission.

    Questions

    1. The question is how does RADIUS server deliver Unicast WEP Key to client?

    2. How does the Client and RADIUS server exchange the Unicast WEP Keys?

    3. What role does the broadcast Key do?

Is it that AP and client talks to each other using Broadcast WEP key and the client session with RADIUS with Unicast WEP?

    Hi Mehdi,
Sorry for the delay in reply.
Above all, Windows 7 Ultimate is a different edition as Windows 7 Home Premium - it has more functions and it is expensive.
As you have a Windows 7 Home Premium (HP) license, it can only be used on Windows 7 HP system so it is by design that you cannot active your current Windows 7 Ultimate system.
Currently you have 2 options: get a key of Windows 7 Ultimate and input to your system to activate it, or reinstall Windows 7 Home Premium and active it with your key.
For how to get a key for Windows 7 Ultimate, you will need to contact your local Microsoft Customer Service via phone. Of course you could directly get a retail copy in a store and use that key.
For how to reinstall system, generally laptop will provide a reinstall disk or a recovery partition. As you do not have much experience about this, you could contact your laptop manufacturer and ask them for helping reinstall the system or at least sent
    you a manual.
Also it is a Windows 7 system so actually you should post to Windows 7 forum:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/home?forum=w7itprogeneral
But I think that everything they could provide are already provided above...We
are trying to better understand customer views on social support experience, so your participation in this
interview project would be greatly appreciated if you have time.

    DB:2.58:Wep Key Rotation fp

I would like to setup WEP Key rotation on my AP 1200. I see the broadcast-key rotation, however I'm not sure if this is the parameter I need to set. Also is there a way I can actually verify that my WEP key is getting rotated?

    DB:2.58:Wep Key Rotation fp

Don't forget you can only configure rotating WEP keys if you're using an enterprise authentication model. If you've just punched in a key into the AP that's static WEP and it cannot be made to rotate, the broadcast key rotation checkbox won't make this happen.

    DB:2.57:Orinoco Problem (Pcmcia Problem?) a1

    Hi all,

I installed Arch Linux 0.7.1 Noodle on a laptop with a Orinoco pcmcia card. When I boot, I see the sit0, wifi0 and wlan0 interface, but I am unable to set a WEP key on the wlan0 interface. The error message is Invalid argument when I issue the iwconfig wlan0 key 1234567890 command.

I saw following thread: http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php? … oco+hostap however could not get it to work...

    Any ideas?

    DB:2.57:Orinoco Problem (Pcmcia Problem?) a1

Hmmm, fixed it by using my Cisco Aironet card.

With the orinoco, I get a sit0, wifi0 and wlan0 interface. I cannot configure the wlan0 interface for WEP (I.e. I cannot configure a key on it).

With my Aironet, I immediately get an eth0 interface which works... The orinoco works in another laptop without problems...

DB:2.57:Difficulty Changing Wep Key On D-Link Router 18

Hi I hope someone can help. I am trying to change my WEP key for my router. I have a D-Link sky router. Having gone to 192.168.0.1 and finding the current key, I change it to something else, click apply and get the message "Invalid Session Key, please try again"

Not sure what this means and can not find anything on it from the forums.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Becky

DB:2.57:Difficulty Changing Wep Key On D-Link Router 18

    Hi Becky,

What is the reason you are looking to change your WEP key? Are you having any issues with your current one?

When you have been logging into the router and attempting to change the key, are you:

Typing in a passphrase and clicking generate? This would then create 4 unique codes in the boxes below and you can select which one you would like to use.
Typing in your own key to one of the boxes and then clicking Apply?

    Thanks,

i cant locate and figure out what my wep key is on my router.

    DB:2.57:Re: I'Ve Lost My Network Key / Wep Key (?) 3s

Simply log into your router's admin interface and get it. But I recommend you drop WEP like a hot potato, it's not secure and can be easily broken. Use WPA2-PSK if you can, if not WPA-PSK.

If you don't know how to log into your router or have lost hte password, tell sus what make/model it is and we may be able to help. Usually you point your web browser at http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1, less commonly http://10.0.0.1. If it has been changed, use the default gateway/router IP address configured in your TCP/IP settings on your computer.

If all this fails, resset your router to factory defaults using the instructions in your manual, and configure it from scratch.

DB:2.57:Wireless Set Up For Hp7410 kp

I recently changed my wireless network to incorporate a new wireless router provided by my ISP.

Before the change, my 7410 recognized the network, was configured for WPA2 authentication and worked consistently.

My new router network has a new SSID but is also configured for WPA2. Every device from my previous network connects successfully using the WPA2 key, exccept for my 7410.

My 7410 finds the SSID but will not recognize the WPA2 configuration. It is forcing me (both through the menu on the device and through the software via a computer networked by ethernet) to enter a WEP key for wireless configuration. Unfortunately, there is no WEP key because the wireless network is WPA.

Using the software in the advanced tab I can manually input the WPA information, but it does not take. After getting the message that the changes have been made, when I select "Advanced Status", I see the network information I entered, but there is no active connection, and IP and DNS are both "Unconfigured".

My network uses both Windows and Mac devices. I am writing this on a Mac running OSX.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

i am trying to find where the wep key is saved on my macbook any suggestions.

    DB:2.56:Wep Key Recovery fm

Tell him to bring in the router and reset (hard reset) and then set it up again. The irony here is that hackers are able to bypass the WEP key in under a minute while you cannot connect at all. You do know WEP is for all intents and purposes, no security at all?

Everytime I turn off my computer for about 1 day, I always have to reenter my WEP Key 1 to gain access to my wireless network, soI basically lose my connection. If I was to turn off my computer just for an hour, then turn it back on, my connection will still be active and I do not need to enter the WEP Key. I have a 128 WEP encryption so the WEP key is very long. Is there anyway the the system will remember the WEP Key all the time? Running Windows XP. Thanks

I am trying to connect my HP c309a to my exsisting network. I currently have 6 devices connected wirelessly to the network , so i'm very certian the WEP is correct. The printer see the wireless router, then askes for the WEP,... then after entering the correct WEP, it returns with "Invalid WEP Key"... Please help.. Thank you

DB:2.56:Hp C309a Will Not Accept My Wep 71

First and foremost, do NOT use WEP. It is not secure. Plus, it can cause connection issues like this.

Change your router to WPA and be able to select your own password. Make a strong one, at least a dozen characters, numbers and letters, upper and lower case.

DB:2.56:Hp Officejet Wep Key Help? j7

First of all WEP is not at all secure. If you can, change to WPA or WPA2 with a long (13+ character) password.

If you cannot do that, make sure you are using WEP - Open, not WEP - Shared.

    Hi,

Many older devices do not know anything other than WEP - even some older HP laptops (of nx series) can only use WEP.

    Regards.
