    DB:3.12:Enabling Xts For Ws-At In Eclipse. 81

    Hello Everyone,

    I am trying to run the quickstart example of WS-AT referring to http://www.jboss.org/jdf/quickstarts/jboss-as-quickstart/wsat-simple/

    This example works perfectly when I start jboss AS 7 server using cmd: For Windows: \bin\standalone.bat --server-config=..\..\docs\examples\configs\standalone-xts.xml

    But it does not work when I start the jboss AS 7 server within eclipse IDE and try running the same example. It gives errors.

    Do I need to enable xts when I start server from Eclipse?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks Regards,

    Chirag.

    We have an APN at our company and we have been issued with the modems - K4201-Z.

    I am running the latest VMB software on my machine - 10.3.405

    The APN settings is configred in Standard mode in the software.

    When I connect the new modem it automatically go to Quickstart mode.

    In Quickstart mode I can find the option to configure our APN Settings.

    Is there a way to disable Quickstart mode or where should I go to configure our APN.

    Thanks

    I'm having all kinds of problems trying to get the WSE 3.0 quickstart samples up and running.  I've installed IIS on my XP dev machine.  Afterwards, I installed the WSE 3.0 using the VS2005 developer option.  I ran the Setup.bat and then aspnet_regiis /i /enable.  When access the virtual directories of the samples using IE, I can see the supported operations list and access the WSDL.  When running the samples from VS2005 I get the below errors in the client command window.  All seem to be related to access denied issues.

    DB:3.01:Wse 3.0 Quickstart Sample Troubleshooting ca

    Hello Shannon,
    I can understand your frustration. IIS is returning these 401 errors. We need to find out why. Have you tried running Filemon/Regmon or Process Monitor while reproducing the problem after an iisreset to see if there are any missing permissions access the registry, files, or when attempting to compile dynamic assemblies? Are you getting this error on ALL of the quick start samples?
    Do you know if you are going through a proxy server to hit these web services? I assume you have everything hosted on the same machine. If so then go into Internet Explorer - Tools - Options - Connections Tab - LAN Settings, then make sure you have Bypass proxy server for local addresses. Maybe your proxy server requires authentication and these samples don't configure that authentication.
    Also, what authentication do you have configured for all the virtual directories that get created? I think it configures anonymous access.

    DB:2.74:No Joy Trying To Get Started With Errai Ui jd

    I've been trying for days now to get a basic errai-ui project off the ground, with no luck. I must be doing something very wrong, but can't figure it out.

    I initially tried modifying my GWT app, but I've decided to start over. No matter what I do I end up with missing dependencies and projects that won't load.

    First, I can't find any errai-ui maven archetypes. All the archtypes use the old GWT way of rendering.

    The errai-UI demo that is well publicized on the web (http://vimeo.com/44141164) doesn't seem to actually work at all. When I try to run it in dev mode with "mvn gwt:run" it appears to run, but the web page never loads. It looks like there is no container running as there is nothing listening on port 8080.

    So I figured I'd start with something simple. I used the "bus-quickstart" archetype like so: mvn archetype:generate -DarchetypeGroupId=org.jboss.errai.archetypes -DarchetypeArtifactId=bus-quickstart -DarchetypeVersion=2.1.0.Beta1 -DarchetypeRepository=https://repository.jboss.org/nexus/content/groups/public/

    This runs okay, but doesn't use errai-ui. So I started by modifying the pom.xml to depend on errai-javaee-all, instead of the individual artifacts, and no other changes. When I run this in dev mode I do see jetty starting up, but when I load the URL I get this error:

    This is quite similar to the errors I get when I tried to use errai-ui from scratch. I get told that I'm missing imports, or that a method cannot be found.

    Does anyone have a simple errai-ui demo that works? I would really appreciate seeing it actually work outside of a video. I'm sure one I get it working I can modify it to my needs, but I'm starting to suspect that there is something wrong in the released jar files.

    Thanks,

    Michael

    DB:2.61:Add Jboss 7 Running In Domain Mode To Eclipse Ide da

    Hi,

    It is pretty straightforward to add a JBoss server runnign in standalone mode (7.1.1). However I can't seem to add one running in domain mode. Using a wizard you point it towards the JBoss home folder and then the config file but Eclipse seems to expect that it will always be runnign in standalone mode (a file in /standalone/...) and I cannot successfully point it to domain.xml.

    Is it possible to do this?

    Thanks

    Hello Nikhil

    It's possible to use PS as 'standalone'. In this PS does not use an ASCP plan reference.
    There is a section on this in the ASCP User's Guide (Chapter 13 - Running Production Scheduling in Standalone Mode Without ASCP).

    DB:2.60:Two Jbossesbs - What Should Be The Jndi-Url? 7x

    I have two Windows XP boxes called developer and psc. Each box has JBossESB-server-4.2.1GA. I am currently struggling with the custom_action quickstart. I can get the quickstart to work on each machine, however when I try to get it to work across machines I get naming exceptions and communication exceptions.Here is what I did:I configured the jboss-esb.xml file on psc to have this jms-provider name="JBossMQ" connection-factory="ConnectionFactory" jndi-context-factory="org.jnp.interfaces.NamingContextFactory" jndi-URL="developer.manassas.progeny.net" I did not change anything on the developer box.I have JBoss running its default instance on each box.On the psc box I run ant deploy and then ant-runtest. I expect to see something at the developer box. I don't. Instead I see errors at the psc box.In playing with the jndi-URL property in jboss-esb.xml, it doesn't seem like anything but localhost works, however I have seen examples in the various JBoss forums that don't use localhost. What am I missing? This is frustrating because it seems like it should be so easy. Thanks for any helpPhil

    DB:2.60:Two Jbossesbs - What Should Be The Jndi-Url? 7x

    More information:I decided to simplify my test environment. I went back to just one ESB. I wanted to see if I could get the custom_action quickstart to work if I changed the jndi-url from localhost to the IP of the current box.I had assumed this would work, however it did not. I got the same communication exceptions as before. This does not make any sense to me.

    DB:2.60:Oracleas Infrastructure Install Db Config Agent Error 8s

    Typically windows oas installs are straightforward. I'd say go back through and check your prereqs.
    4.1 Check System Requirements

    Your computer must meet the following requirements.

    Operating Systems Supported

    *

    Windows 2000 with Service Pack 3 or above
    *

    Windows Server 2003 (32-bit)
    *

    Windows XP is supported only for the following scenarios:
    o

    J2EE and Web Cache without OracleAS Infrastructure
    o

    OracleAS Developer Kits

    You can install other Oracle Application Server installation types on Windows XP, but they are not supported on Windows XP. The installer displays a warning, but allows you to continue with the installation.

    If you are running Windows XP with Service Pack 2, please see Document ID 280874.1 on the OracleMetaLink site (http://metalink.oracle.com.).

    *

    Microsoft Windows XP Professional x64 Edition
    *

    Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Standard x64 Edition
    *

    Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Enterprise x64 Edition
    *

    Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Datacenter x64 Edition

    Note that Oracle Application Server is not supported on Windows operating systems that include Terminal Services. For example, Windows 2000 with Terminal Services is not supported.

    Oracle provides 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Oracle Application Server for Windows. The 32-bit version runs on Intel x86, AMD64, and Intel EM64T processors. For additional information, visit OracleMetaLink at http://metalink.oracle.com.

    Note: All products and components except OracleAS Infrastructure are certified on AMD64 and Intel EM64T processors.

    4.2 Set the User to Belong to the Administrators Group

    The operating system user performing the installation must belong to the Administrators group.

    Note:
    The user must be listed directly in the Administrators group. The user cannot belong to the group indirectly (for example, by being a member of a group that is part of the Administrators group).

    To check if you belong to the Administrators group:

    Windows 2000, Windows 2003, or Windows XP

    1.

    Display the Computer Management dialog:
    *

    Windows 2000 or Windows XP: Right-click My Computer on the desktop and select Manage.
    *

    Windows 2003: Right-click the local computer icon on the desktop and select Manage.
    2.

    On the left side, expand Local Users and Groups, and click Users.
    3.

    On the right side, right click the user and select Properties. This displays the Properties dialog.
    4.

    In the Properties dialog, select the Member Of tab.

    If you are not a member of the Administrators group, get an administrator to add you to the group or log in as a user who is a member of the Administrators group.
    4.3 Check Environment Variables

    The operating system user who will be installing Oracle Application Server needs to set (or unset) the following environment variables.

    Table 2 Environment Variables
    Environment Variable Set or Unset

    ORACLE_HOME

    Must not be set.

    ORACLE_SID

    Must not be set.

    TNS_ADMIN

    Must not be set.

    PATH

    Must not be longer than 1023 characters.

    TEMP

    Optional. If unset, defaults to C:\temp.

    4.3.1 How to Set Environment Variables

    This section describes how to set environment variables in Windows:

    1.

    Display the System Control Panel.

    Windows 2000: Select Start Settings Control Panel System.

    Windows 2003: Select Start Control Panel System.

    Windows XP: Select Start Control Panel then double-click System.
    2.

    Select the Advanced tab.
    3.

    Click Environment Variables.
    4.

    To change the value of a variable, select the variable and click Edit.

    We recommend to utilize NTP to make sure there isn't clock issues. I'm assuming you're putting the Metadata Repository on the same box, correct?

    Hi WildFlyers,

    first of all, thank you for the very good job done on WildFly ! I was surprised today to see that the 8.0 Final was already here, so I downloaded it and made some tests.

    I am facing a strange issue while trying to run some JSF applications, I don't know if this is specific to JSF or not, but here are the symptoms:

    I am using OSX Mavericks with Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 23.1-b03, mixed mode) .

    WildFly 8.0 Final

    I am trying to run the quickstart/greeter application: git clone https://github.com/wildfly/quickstart.git ; cd quickstart/greeter; mvn clean package; cp target/*.war $WILDFLY_HOME/standalone/deployments

    Everything deploys fine, and seems to run, but when I try to navigate to different views, the application server gets the request but takes to long to send the response. If I click STOP on my browser, sometimes, the pages is rendered correctly. So I suspect something about proper socket termination.

    Is this issue already known ? How I can help you investigate it?

    I runned the same configuration on a Red Hat EL6 and OpenJDK and everything works fine, no delay, no blocked responsed.

    Greetings

    Hi , Are you trying to use standalone report server or In process report server ? . For standalone report server check the status from $INSTANCE_HOME/bin directory , and type ./opmnctl status . Can you see standalone server up and running (This is for stand alone report server) . Also can you log in to EM , and see report server's under reports. Thanks !!

    DB:2.53:Re: Report Server (Development Mode) dc

    Hi , Please refer to following MOS ID "In-Process Reports Server Down in EM After Starting WLS_REPORTS Managed Server (Doc ID 1360266.1)". And I quote :- "After starting WLS_REPORTS managed server the in-process Reports Server status is shown as DOWN in the Enterprise Manager console "."This is the expected behavior.An in-process Reports Server requires less maintenance than a standalone Reports Server because, unlike the standalone Reports Server, it starts automatically in response to requests from the client."Thanks !!

    Hi Everyone,I'm trying out this software and found a couple of glaring holes in the quickstart documents when running the software on linux. Specificaly Red Hat Enterprise 4.1) You need to state how to set the JAVA_HOME enviroment variable in the /etc/profile file so that everytime you reboot the server can start without errors. Also I had to download my own JRE due to not being able to find the one that was supposed to be included with the linux download.You can set this by adding the following to your /etc/profile file:JAVA_HOME="/path/to/your/jre"export JAVA_HOME2) You also need to state that if your using the bundled database that you MUST open port 9432 for postgres along with the 7080,7443 ports for the server and agent. Not opening the database port will cause the server to crash.Just giving some feedback and to help out anyone else with these problems.- Vince

    DB:2.53:Update Quickstart Docs az

    I ran into this same problem, the full hyperic server package comes with the jre-free agent, the platform specific agents must be downloaded seperatly. I deploy on RHEL, and would love to see pre-made agent packages myself (for a local yum repository).

    Hi All,

    I have the VMware vCenter Converter Standalone running and trying to do a p2v, the first one went ok and no issues. on the second one. the conversion seems to be done with no problem or errors but when I try to boot the guest on the VMware Infrastructure Client I get this error:

    Error Loading Operating System.

    I read the forums and used the live CD and went in the rescue mode and mounted the / and /boot and tried to do a #grub-install --root-directory=/mnt/sda1 /dev/sda (assuming my /boot is on /dev/sda1)

    but since the PATH and the env is not set i get bunch of errors trying to find grub and other commands to make a long story short no amount of debugging has done any good yet either.

    Any other suggestion is greatly appreciated.

    best regards,

    Kathy

    DB:2.51:Error: Jvm Option Is Invalid: -Server 1z

    We have downloaded the 'Oracle Application Server MapViewer 10.1.2 Kit and Quickstart' that was released on 10-January-2005.

    The start.sh script included in this kit to start OC4J is:
    #!/bin/sh
    #cd oc4j/j2ee/home;java -server -Xmx384M -Djava.awt.headless=true -jar oc4j.jar

    This errors with:
    The JVM option is invalid: -server
    Could not create the Java virtual machine.

    Note: The java version installed on the server is 1.4.2 and OS is IBM AIX 5.2L.

    The OC4J does start with the command:
    java -server -jar oc4j.jar

    Any thoughts on the option '-server' and is this required for running of mapviewer with the standalone version of OC4J?

    DB:2.51:Error: Jvm Option Is Invalid: -Server 1z

    -server option is used to start jvm in server mode.
    in your case what's offending is probably the option -Xmx384M ( i think that option has different format on different jvm implementations).

    in any case, -server is not required to run mapviewer.

    as you suspected .... i had several environment issues that were causing problems.

    DB:2.50:As7 - How To Configure Https Connector For Ssl 7f

    I'm completely new with using JBoss and have started with AS7. My platform is Windows 2003 x64 and I'm running JRE6 (with JDK 1.6.0_25) and the final AS7 download.

    I'd like to configure SSL support but am having difficulty finding instructions that relate to AS7 and/or understanding how I go about it!

    Running in 'standalone' mode, I've edited ...\standalone\configuration\standalone.xml adding the following [bold]:

    subsystem xmlns="urn:jboss:domain:web:1.0" default-virtual-server="default-host"

    connector name="http" protocol="HTTP/1.1" socket-binding="http" scheme="http"/

    connector name="https" protocol="HTTP/1.1" socket-binding="https" scheme="https" secure="true" /

    virtual-server name="default-host" enable-welcome-root="true"

    alias name="localhost"/

    alias name="example.com"/

    /virtual-server

    /subsystem

    The socket binding is already in place (8443).

    The server will start with the above change. I can access both http://localhost:8080/my.jsp and http://localhost:8443/my.jsp

    However accessing https://localhost:8443/my.jsp doesn't - the browser waits for a very long time then presents a "cannot display web page" error page. It doesn't look like any errors are logged for this.

    Obviously in the world of SSL I need a certificate so I've created a keystore using "keytool -genkey -alias tomcat -keyalg RSA" and copied the file to "...\standalone\configuration\standalone\server.keystore".

    Using examples I've seen, I specificed this using the following additional attributes for the connector definition:

    keystoreFile="${jboss.server.home.dir}/configuration/server.keystore" keystorePass="changeit"

    But, the server fails to start with an error in the log "Unexpected attribute 'keystoreFile'".

    I understand that AS7 is a complete re-write and some of the information, such as the connector XML element attributes, on the web may be out of date so if anyone can supply configuration instructions for SSL I'd very much appreciate it!

    Thanks in advance, Adam

    Hello Friends,I'm a JBossESB newbie!I could run the first 2 quickstart apps quite successfully. However, the third one, "helloworld_db_registration" did throw some errors (excepts pased below).I checked the readme file and it says:"This example assumes your jUDDI registry is running and it connects directly to the database to register the component."So, my stupid, basic question: What does that mean? How do I start/run jUDDI registry?Thank you for the help.

    Do you have the ESB Server (or a JBoss AS with the ESB deployed) running on the machine? If you do, then the standalone should have access to the registry, if you don't... you'll get errors like this.

    Original title:Failed security update for Office 2007 suites KB2596856
    When I try to install the recent update KB2596856, I get error code 8007064. Here are the things I've tried to no avail, not necessarily in this order:

    I tried running Windows Update after a clean boot, got the same errorI tried downloading the standalone update, but it shows the message "An error occurred while running detection."I tried the standalone update after a clean boot and in safe mode with networking, but I get the same message.I tried Microsoft Fix It, but I still get the same errors in Windows Update and the standalone.I tried disabling Windows Update service, then cleaned out the folders %windir%/SoftwareDistribution/DataStore and %windir%/SoftwareDistribution/Download (I backed them up elsewhere), then re-enabled Windows Update service. I got the same errors upon attempted
    update. So then I restored the folder contents I had cleared.
    I've run out of things to try. Help me make Windows Update happy again.

    Hi,

    I am trying to run jBPM 5.2 in standalone mode. I wanted to access the the Process Running state through entire different application.

    1. I am aware of the REST API but are those REST API avaliable if i run jBPM in standalone mode ? I think it wont be avaliable.

    2. Are there any API from where i can access a Remote jBPM5 Engine and get the running process information.

    3. Also do i need to store all the process related information into Database so that the remote client will be able to access it ? (JPAProcessInstanceDbLog )

    Thanks.

    DB:2.48:Jbpm 5 Standalone Mode xx

    Yes the persistence is enabled as I need the process related information across the stop and start of the application .

    Are you planning to access the engine via an application server . If yes I think the above approach is plausible. But without persistence , I wonder how can this work in a production environment.

    DB:2.48:Where Is Cxmlhttprequest2callback Declared? a7

    I'm trying to apply the IXHR2 quickstart example in a basic experiment that creates a C class that will perform an HTTP GET. I'm running into errors about undeclared identifiers right off the bat.
    Here is the Quickstart example I'm using...
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-US/library/windows/apps/xaml/hh770550

    Here is my simple C class. I added it to a project I created using the Blank App C metro app template.
    // try_http.cpp
    #include pch.h
    #include try_http.h
    #include wrl.h
    #include wrl/client.h
    #include wrl/implements.h
    #include MsXml6.h
    #include Windows.h
    using namespace Microsoft::WRL;
    using namespace Microsoft::WRL::Details;

    try_http::try_http(void)
    {
    }

    try_http::~try_http(void)
    {
    }
    void try_http::try_get ()
    {
    //http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-US/library/windows/apps/xaml/hh770550
    DWORD dwStatus = 0;
    ComPtrIXMLHTTPRequest2 spXHR;
    ComPtrCXMLHttpRequest2Callback spMyXhrCallback;
    ComPtrIXMLHTTPRequest2Callback spXhrCallback;
    }
    I get 4 erros compiling all reported for this line:

    ComPtrCXMLHttpRequest2Callback spMyXhrCallback;
    Error1error C2065: 'CXMLHttpRequest2Callback' : undeclared identifierc:\users\dfran_000\documents\visual studio 2012\projects\httpexperiment\httpexperiment\try_http.cpp301HTTPExperiment

    Error3error C2133: 'spMyXhrCallback' : unknown sizec:\users\dfran_000\documents\visual studio 2012\projects\httpexperiment\httpexperiment\try_http.cpp301HTTPExperiment

    The Quickstart example doesn't actually tell you what any of the headers or namespaces you need are, and I only got this far by searching for other similar questions, but it seems that I'm still lacking whatever header is needed for CXMLHttpRequest2Callback.
    Anybody know?
    Thanks!

    DB:2.48:Where Is Cxmlhttprequest2callback Declared? a7

    Go to the sample and Browse Code:
    http://code.msdn.microsoft.com/windowsdesktop/XML-HTTP-request-GET-sample-681d6b1e/view/SourceCode#content
    It's in XMLHttpRequest2Callback.h and .cpp.

    DB:2.48:Errors Running Quickstart In Standalone Mode kz

    Let me give you my trail, to expose my thought process, or help me correct my thinking:1) Started here: http://wiki.jboss.org/wiki/ESBGettingStarted2) I then downloaded jbossesb-server-4.2.1GA.zip , which bundles in JBoss AS 4.2.1 since I wanted the easiest possible route to the QuickStarts.3) Back on the Getting Started page: "If you are deploying the ESB Server, the ESB is already configured with the application server.", which implies "Don't need to do anything here."4) The next step listed after that is to run the QuickStarts. No mention of needing to execute [JBOSS-ESBHOME]/bin/run before running the QuickStarts via ant.This is especially misleading, since the QuickStart debug echoes "Starting JBossESB... "In addition, the readme.txt files in the QuickStarts (in general) refer to "standalone mode" and ".esb archive mode" without really explaining what each option is. The help-quickstarts target is slightly better, but IMO (again, as a newcomer to JBossESB (but not JBoss AS)) it still assumes too much prior knowledge about JBossESB and how its various components interact with the AS.

    I have committed the first phase of the reworked quickstarts, the changes involved are as follows.Each quickstart now contains *both* jbm and jbmq definitions. The appropriate definition will be automatically included in the .esb archive or deployed separately (via deploy-jms-dests) if running standalone. They also contain an appropriate deployment.xml to correctly force the deployment/undeployment order. DB:2.47:Bpmn2 Errors In Quickstart p9

    I've been taking a closer look at jBPM and BPMN2 and noticed that I still can't get all of the SY quickstarts to display without errors, specifically the "bpm-service" has multiple errors.

    I get 27 BPMN 2.0 Modeler errors like this:

    DescriptionResourcePathLocationTypeExpression and Language must not be blankProcessOrder.bpmn/switchyard-quickstart-bpm-service/src/main/resources/META-INFUnknownBPMN 2.0 Modeler

    These are mentioned in SWITCHYARD-1148 as "bogus", and the issue should be fixed in 0.6, but obviously I'm still experiencing it (using the nightly tools build, 0.7 something something). I tried the nightly build of the BPMN 2.0 Modeler as well as the "stable" 0.1 release referenced in https://docs.jboss.org/author/display/SWITCHYARD/Installing+Eclipse+Tooling, no difference. Same issue using the JBoss Developer Studio 5.0.1 GA.

    There is one more error that occurs in the BPMN 2.0 Modeler:

    DescriptionResourcePathLocationTypeItem Definition has no structureProcessOrder.bpmn/switchyard-quickstart-bpm-service/src/main/resources/META-INFUnknownBPMN 2.0 Modeler

    Under Eclipse, but not under JBoss Developer Studio, I also get two "regular" errors:

    DescriptionResourcePathLocationTypeFeatureNotFoundException: Feature 'script' not found. (platform:/resource/switchyard-quickstart-bpm-service/src/main/resources/META-INF/ProcessOrder.bpmn, 20, 23)ProcessOrder.bpmn/switchyard-quickstart-bpm-service/src/main/resources/META-INFline 20, column 23ProblemFeatureNotFoundException: Feature 'scriptFormat' not found. (platform:/resource/switchyard-quickstart-bpm-service/src/main/resources/META-INF/ProcessOrder.bpmn, 19, 73)ProcessOrder.bpmn/switchyard-quickstart-bpm-service/src/main/resources/META-INFline 19, column 73Problem

    This is using the newest version of everything (Eclipse Juno, JBoss Tools, SwitchYard tools, BPMN 2.0 tools), plus some other configurations I tried that didn't change much of anything.

    Since it seems to work on your machines, what am I doing differently?

    DB:2.47:Bpmn2 Errors In Quickstart p9

    The "Expression and Language must not be blank" validation errors produced by the BPMN 2 modeler and do not impact the actual execution of the BPMN 2 process at runtime. You can ignore them, although it would be nice if we could actually define a language for each expression to avoid this warning. I'm not sure about the other three errors (Rob or Brian can comment) but those are also editor generated and will not impact execution of the process.

    DB:2.46:A Handy Method For Quickstarts Deployment xj

    Hello everyone,

    While playing with the quickstarts, I found a handy method for their deployment is missing which we have in JBoss ESB. In JBoss ESB, you can deploy its quickstarts by just typing 'ant deploy.' In SwitchYard, however, you need to copy manually target/switchyard-quickstart-*.jar to ${AS7}/standalone/deployments after running 'mvn package,' which I find a bit tedious. I'd love for SY quickstarts to have this kind of handy deployment method.

    Here is my humble proposal; use cargo-maven2-plugin and add the plugin's settings to each quickstart's pom.xml. The deployment path can be specified in the quickstarts parent pom.xml. The pom.xmls would look like below:

    [quickstarts/bean-service/pom.xml]
    build
    plugins
    ...
    plugin
    groupIdorg.codehaus.cargo/groupId
    artifactIdcargo-maven2-plugin/artifactId
    version1.2.3/version
    configuration
    container
    containerIdjboss71x/containerId
    /container
    configuration
    typeexisting/type
    home${jboss.as7.home}/standalone/home
    /configuration
    deployables
    deployable
    location${project.build.directory}/${project.build.finalName}.jar/location
    typefile/type
    /deployable
    /deployables
    /configuration
    /plugin
    /plugins
    /build

    DB:2.46:A Handy Method For Quickstarts Deployment xj

    Yep, "mvn package" should be enough. I normally use "clean" because I like to build from a fresh workspace and "install" because I'm just used to doing that for runtime builds. :-)

    We have downloaded the 'Oracle Application Server MapViewer 10.1.2 Kit and Quickstart' that was released on 10-January-2005.

    The start.sh script included in this kit to start OC4J is:
    #!/bin/sh
    #cd oc4j/j2ee/home;java -server -Xmx384M -Djava.awt.headless=true -jar oc4j.jar

    This errors with:
    The JVM option is invalid: -server
    Could not create the Java virtual machine.

    Note: The java version installed on the server is 1.4.2 and OS is IBM AIX 5.2L.

    The OC4J does start with the command:
    java -server -jar oc4j.jar

    Any thoughts on the option '-server' and is this required for running of standalone version of OC4J?

    DB:2.46:Error: Jvm Option Is Invalid: -Server 11

    Can you do a sanity check? Add the following line
    which java; java -version
    right before the line that starts oc4j in start.sh
    Also run the command from the command line.

    Let us see if these two java are different.

    That usually means the dependency is inaccessible due to wrong setup of repositories.

    Have you fiddled with the Maven repositories settings in JBDS?

    Anyway it would help if you describe what artifact descriptor can't be read. ^ (org.jboss.co... what..)

    DB:2.45:Unable To Debug With Cq5.4 pj

    After upgrading from CQ5.3 to CQ5.4, we are no longer able to use CRXDE to debug our codebase.

    Setting breakpoints and stepping through JSP code works just fine, but if we put breakpoints on Java code in our code bundle, or try stepping into it, it doesn't work. Sometimes CRXDE will hang, other times we seem to be stepping through the code (the current call stack and variables window reflects stepping through the java code), but don't get anything in the source code window.

    After having single-stepped through JSP code, CPU usage will spike for a while after resuming code execution, but will quickly return to normal (i.e., this is normal behaviour during page rendering). If I try single-stepping into a Java method, however, CPU usage will spike to ~35% for about thirty seconds, then ~55% (with ~85% of that spent in kernel mode) for about 90 seconds. This is on a 2.67GHz core i7 CPU, so that's quite a lot of CPU consumption.

    After this long period of CPU burning, the source code view will change from the JSP file I was stepping from, and to the Java file I tried stepping into, but with "source not found" and an "Edit Source Lookup Path" button.

    If I try adding a source path, CPU usage will spike up again in the same way as during the initial single-step attempt.

    After resuming execution, if I reload my page to hit the JSP breakpoint, I get the same kind of CPU spike, before the source code view finally changes from the "source not found" Java window to the JSP file the breakpoint was set in. After resuming and then realoding the page again (not having single-stepped into any Java code), I seem to get into a repeated cycle of the 35%-then-55% CPU usage, with several cycles taking place before the IDE indicates that it's ready to single-step (i.e., highlights the line with the breakpoint). The IDE doesn't frozen during this period, I could scroll the source view around and activate menus etc.

    If I detach and reattach the debugger and reload my page, the breakpoint is hit as expected, and the IDE immediately reflects that it's ready to single-step. If I only step through JSP code and then resume execution, the next time I hit the breakpoint it's still instantaneous - so it would seem that it's the attempt to step into Java code that messes up some debugger state(?).

    The CPU consumption happens within the javaw.exe process spawned by CRXDE, the java.exe process running the CQ5.4 instance is at almost idle CPU consumption.

    The first time I start debugging after having started the CQ5.4 instance, I get the following on the console output:

    ASSERT FAILED: ../../../src/share/back/SDE.c : 274 - bad SourceDebugExtension syntax - position 25 - expected '*'

    ASSERT FAILED: ../../../src/share/back/SDE.c : 274 - bad SourceDebugExtension syntax - position 39 - expected '*'

    I've also tried setting up a clean CQ5.4 instance with a barebones test project (using "New Project" in CRXDE, then using CRXDE-Lite following the steps in http://dev.day.com/docs/en/cq/5-4/howto/website.html to create design, template and component). Even with this clean setup, I still can't trace into Java code - I don't get the long periods of high CPU usage before the "source not found" window pops up, but there's obviously a lot less code and content in the clean 5.4 instance than our normal development instance :-)

    I've tried wiping the %HOME%\.crxde folder, just in case. It reduces the length of the CPU-spike period, but otherwise makes no difference.

    There's no problems debugging our old CQ5.3 instance with the same CRXDE and JDK versions that we use for CQ5.4 (there's obviously been quite some changes to our codebase since we upgraded to 5.4, though).

    When building bundles for our dev, test and prod environments we build with Maven, but on our development machines we build from inside CRXDE - so the source code definitely should be available.

    The problems happen happen on a variety of setups, spanning both Windows and OS X machines. Specifics for my setup is:

    Intel Core i7 M620, 2.67GHz

    4GB ram

    Windows 7 SP1, 64-bit

    CRXDE 1.0.1, 64-bit

    Tested with our development CQ5.4 instance ("some hotfixes, large codebase and some gigabytes of content") as well as a clean CQ5.4 without any hotfixes. The CQ5.4 instance has been tested with both JDK 1.6.0_26 (64bit) and JDK 1.6.0_30 (32bit).

    DB:2.45:Unable To Debug With Cq5.4 pj

    Same issue here. When trying to debug on a jsp in CQ5.4 everything works fine, but when I try to step into a java class, I got thrown a "source not found" instead of my java code, although the call stack reflects the line we hit well and the variables update ok. I would be able to work even if the debugger doesn't take me line by line through the code, only by looking at the line the call stack hit, but I get the annoying "source not found" windows which I continously need to close to see my code. Any help would be appreciated.

    DB:2.45:Jboss-As7-Quickstart Domain Mode(Distributed Data-Grid) Problem m9

    Hi,

    I can't make the jboss-as7 example in the Infinispan-quickstart to work. I am working on Windows 7. Examples are downloaded from https://github.com/infinispan/infinispan-quickstart . Clusterted cache, embeded cace , CDI examples and local mode of JBoss 7 example are working, but domain mode of JBoss example is not working.

    I was tesing with JBoss versions: jboss-as-7.1.1.Final and used jdk1.6.0_26.

    Create a distributed data-grid using domain mode

    1) Edit `domain/configuration/domain.xml` and add a cache
    cache-container name="jboss-as7-quickstart" default-cache="jboss-as7-quickstart-cache"
    distributed-cache owners="1" mode="SYNC" name="jboss-as7-quickstart-cache" start="EAGER"/
    /cache-container

    2) Edit domain/configuration/host.xml, copy server-three to create a server-four, and change the port offset to `350`. Set both server-three and server-four to `auto-start="true"` and server-one and server-two to `auto-start="false"`.

    3) Start the domain by running `bin/domain.sh`
    I see exceptions in console as follows:
    [Server:server-three] JBAS014775: New missing/unsatisfied dependencies:
    [Server:server-three] service jboss.binding.jacorb (missing) dependents: [
    service jboss.jacorb.orb-service]
    [Server:server-three] service jboss.binding.jacorb-ssl (missing) dependent
    s: [service jboss.jacorb.orb-service]
    [Server:server-three] service jboss.binding.messaging (missing) dependents
    : [service jboss.messaging.default]
    [Server:server-three] service jboss.binding.messaging-throughput (missing)
    dependents: [service jboss.messaging.default]
    [Server:server-three]

    4) Package the app by running `mvn clean package`

    5) Deploy the app using the management console at http://localhost:9990
    And I can not deploy the app successfully.

    Did i make a wrong configurations of the jboss cluster?

    Thanks in Advance

    hornetq-jms-client.jar

    jboss-jms-api.jar

    I've also tried adding the following to the classpath as well:

    hornetq-core.jar

    The server starts up with no errors (stand-alone/non-clustered), and I get the InitialContext fine.

    This is all I saw in the documentation. What am I possibly missing?

    The first thing I recommend you do is upgrade to a later version of HornetQ.

    Aside from that...

    The class org.hornetq.api.core.logging.Logger is not shipped in HornetQ 2.2.5 (or any version from what I can tell). However, there is a org.hornetq.core.logging.Logger in hornetq-core-client.jar.

    The class org.hornetq.api.core.SimpleString is in hornetq-core-client.jar.

    I've downloaded the wildly quickstart from https://github.com/wildfly/quickstart/tree/master/ejb-remote and it runs fine.
    However, I don't want any dependencies to jboss in my client.
    The only examples I've found for calling a remote ejb running on wildfly has dependencies to jboss. You need jboss-ejb-client.properties or EJBClientConfiguration, a dependency to jboss-ejb-client and a dependency to jboss-ejb-api_3.2_spec.
    I thought it was possible to do this with the standard JavaEE API without any specific appserver dependencies in my client.
    Am I wrong?

    DB:2.41:Call Remote Ejb On Wildfly 8.0 Without Jboss Dependencies In Classpath 88

    Thank you for answer!

    I'm kind of new to remote EJB's, and I was under the impression that there was a unified way to call them through the jee-api for all the different application servers.

    So basically each appserver has it's own invocation-protocol and InitialContext-factory and in order to invoke remote EJB's you need different client-api's for every different appserver you want to call? I guess this applies to remote spring-beans as well?

    The article mentions that:
    The QuickStart Tutorials are installed with the Windows Software Development Kit (SDK) and Microsoft Visual Studio 2005, provided the QuickStart Samples setup option is selected during setup.

    Hi,

    increse ulimit on your server.

    Linux kernel by default limits to 1024 open file handles, open sockets / connections are also threaded as open file handle.

    you can check how many are open and from where by typing

    lsof

    for how to change it see: http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Too_many_open_files

    default limit is really low, and for any server does anything remotly intestesting it should be incresed.

    Hi Samuel,First Question - Is this installation running on Windows or Unix. If it is running on Windows i have one answer for you.Try to install the Microsoft Virtual Loopback Network Adaptor and assign any IP Address, and start the server. This should work, if not disable all the adaptors except Microsoft Loop-back adaptor and try it.(FYI : This is not the loop-back adaptor 127.0.0.1)Procedure to create the Microsoft Loop-Back Network Adaptor:Goto ControlPanel -- Select "Yes i already connected the hardware" -- Add new Hardware Device -- Install hardware which i manualy select from list -- Network Adaptors -- then on the Leftside panel select Microsoft and on the right side - select Microsoft Loopback adaptor and finish it.If it prompts, you may need to provide the OS CD's.you are done with the Adaptor installation. then goto controlpanel, double click network connections and select the Microsoft adaptor and assign the IP address, and add this in you hosts file. ( "c:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts" )It worked for me, when i tried, and once i faced problem with connecting to external nw etc. you have to try various options.GoodLuck.

    DB:2.40:Release Mode Errors j3

    Your question is very general...

    I think that you use an array where the array argument is not initialized properly.

    When you know where your access violation happens, you can use write(9,*) variablesto create the file fort.9 and "debug" your code. Its not elegant, but it helps.

    DB:2.40:Two Singleton Services Running In A Merged Setup In Wildfly 8.1.0 Final a9

    I created a singleton service based on the quickstart example (). For a single cluster group, things work perfectly. i.e., only one cluster node runs the service and when the same goes down, another cluster node takes over. We observe that in the case of split brain, while the groups splits into two, two singleton services run (this is expected). However, if the groups merge, we expected one of the singleton services to stop which wasn't working as expected. Rarely did one of the singleton service stop. In simple terms, we had two singleton services running in a merged setup. Is this a known issue? if yes, do we have a workaround.

    PS: We used the default standalone-full-ha profile and we didn't modify the cache properties.

    DB:2.40:Two Singleton Services Running In A Merged Setup In Wildfly 8.1.0 Final a9

    That shouldn't be. Upon merge, a singleton master re-election should take place, and any master should stop.

    The workaround for this is to preempt the multiple master on split by requiring a quorum when building your singleton service.

    Hiya,

    I have been using the MC56F8037 processors on a brushless motor controller board I have made. I have been using Quickstart and am still running the classic Codewarrior IDE. All this is still working well. I was having a bit of a look today to see if any upgrades to Quickstart have come about, so that I might change to the newer Codewarrior and finally lay my old Windows machine to rest. It seems that there is a new version of Quickstart, along with a new motor control library. It mentions that MC56F8037 processors are no longer supported by version 2.6 of Quickstart.

    I am in the process of revising my motor controller board and have considered a change in processor. Is the MC56F8037 on the way out? Should I switch to something else, such as the 56F832x series? They appear to have similar functionality.

    In your application, instead of targeting AxServicesInterface.asmx file inside the AX Web Services stand alone installation, point your URL to the same file within the Ax Web Access directory. For example, if you have AX Web Services and Ax Web Access installed in default locations, the stand alone Ax Web services URL is http://server/AppXtenderServices/AxServicesInterface.asmx. You need to change it to http://localhost/AppXtender/AxServicesInterface.asmxThe AX Web Services AxServicesInterface.asmx file is always installed inside Web Access (WX) and it presents Ax Web Services integrated with Web Access

    DB:2.39:Using Standalone Jta 1.2 With Deltaspike Jpa 9f

    Hi,

    I'm trying to use JTA-and-Hibernate (quickstart/jta-and-hibernate at master jbosstm/quickstart GitHub) with Apache DeltaSpike JTA (http://deltaspike.apache.org/jpa.html). I'm able to use transactions in my test-case using the TransactionManager, but I want to have DeltaSpike JPA working.

    Please se line 52 and 53: https://github.com/apache/deltaspike/blob/master/deltaspike/modules/jpa/impl/src/main/java/org/apache/deltaspike/jpa/impl/transaction/BeanManagedUserTransactionStrategy.java

    How can I bind TransactionSynchronizationRegistry to java:comp/TransactionSynchronizationRegistry? - mine is bound to java:/jboss/TransactionSynchronizationRegistry. Ref. line 70 in https://github.com/jbosstm/quickstart/blob/master/jta-and-hibernate/src/test/java/org/jboss/narayana/quickstarts/jta/TestCase.java.

    Cheers,

    Ove

    Hi Tom!

    Thanks for following up on me. I'm doing fine. I choose to use Spring Data CDI together with DeltaSpike JPA, because it supports JTA 1.2, which DS guys don't want at this point. They implement their own custom (portable) Transactional support.

    So far so good

    Cheers,

    Ove

    From the docs it wasn't clear from what I read on if the rest interface was available if you're running in stand-alone mode?

    If so is there a pointer to some docs I can read regarding that setup?

    thanks

    Can SAP's JDO implimentation be run in standalone mode. If yes what is the value for property:

    'javax.jdo.PersistenceManagerFactoryClass'

    Thank you

    DB:2.39:Jdo Standalone Mode z3

    Hi Nagendra,

    never tried running SAP's JDO in standalone mode, but looking into the docs, it seems to be possible: a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/7d/d864d0bccb46beb817c7beab160383/frameset.htm"link/a.

    As for the PersistenceManagerFactoryClass you could try using the com.sap.jdo.jca.cci.SAPJDOConnectionFactory class.

    Hope that helps.

    Hi all,

    I'm using v4.4.1ES2 in standalone mode. Since this is standalone mode, there are lots of errors generated in relation to the integrated mode (sync with ICM, etc). Is there a way to turn that off so that only relavant error messages are displayed?

    Thanks!

    DB:2.39:Where Can I Start With Jbpm-Designer? 1j

    Hi,

    I would like to start working with jbpm-designer. I have the source code into my Eclipse and maven install executes well. I have deployed it on Tomcat and I got no errors either, but when I try to login I don't know how to do it.

    What user and password should I use? Also, do I need to configure something else in Tomcat?

    In summary, I would need some more technical documentation about jbpm-designer and how to deploy it, I am specially interested in running jbpm-designer in standalone mode.

    Thanks in advance. Sebastian.

    DB:2.38:Configure H2 Server Mode Database m9

    Hollo, I is testing the H2 database in wildfly 8 with the greeter example including in the QuickStart demos. In the Web-INF/greeter-quickstart-ds.xml, I changed to "jdbc:h2:tcp://localhost/~/" from "jdbc:h2:mem:", then restart the server, it reports a "File Not Found" error. Should I make any other change in the settings?

    datasource jndi-name="java:jboss/datasources/GreeterQuickstartDS"

    pool-name="greeter-quickstart" enabled="true" use-java-context="true"

    connection-urljdbc:h2:mem:greeter-quickstart;DB_CLOSE_ON_EXIT=FALSE;DB_CLOSE_DELAY=-1/connection-url

    driverh2/driver

    security

    user-namesa/user-name

    passwordsa/password

    /security

    /datasource

    I didn't change anything in the persistence.xml:

    persistence-unit name="primary"

    !-- If you are running in a production environment, add a managed

    data source, this example data source is just for development and testing! --

    !-- The datasource is deployed as WEB-INF/greeter-quickstart-ds.xml,

    property name="hibernate.show_sql" value="false" /

    Thanks for any info and help.

    This is the original datasource setting:

    And I changed it to

    Then I got a "File not found" error. Do I also need to change anything in persistence.xml? I didn't. And this is the file:

    DB:2.38:Cannot Import Existing Xp Mode Vm Into Player 37

    Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. Have an existing version of XP Mode running under Microsoft Virtual PC; want to move that over to VMware Player (VMware-player-4.0.4-744019.exe).

    Install VMware Player; installation seems fine. Try to import XP Mode, it tells me that it needs Standalone Converter. Asks if it should install; I approve. Installation returns error message: "VMware vCenter Converter Standalone product cannot be installed."

    Close VMware Player. Download Standalone Converter VMware-converter-all-5.0.0-470252.exe from Website, install; installation seems fine. Open VMware Player, try to import XP Mode, it tells me that "VMware vCenter Converter Standalone product is not configured properly for use with VMware Player. Uninstall VMware vCenter Converter Standalone and try again."

    Tried various combinations of uninstalling/reinstalling either/both products in different orders, running as administrator; nothing works; always get these same error messages. Any suggestions? Thanks.

    DB:2.38:Cannot Import Existing Xp Mode Vm Into Player 37

    Yes, thank you; the manual installation outlined in that thread worked for me.

    I wonder what it is about my configuration that caused the integrated installer to fail.

    DB:2.38:Standalone Versus Domain Mode am

    Are most people running in Standalone or Domain Mode for production environments? Based on my initial findings from an every shrinking JBOSS support community, most people are running in Standalone Mode. Anyone else seeing the same thing? Thoughts? Comments?

    DB:2.38:Standalone Versus Domain Mode am

    It is quite possible many will eventually or are in the process of moving to Domain Mode installations; however, the majority of individuals who respond (and there aren't very many) to my questions refer to their Standalone Mode installations. I've had a lot of issues running in Domain Mode, specifically with regard to monitoring the JBOSS EAS server.

    For example, I cannot connect to "server-one" or "server-two" via JMX on their assigned ports 4447 and 4597 respectively using the remoting URI (e.g. service:jmx:remoting-jmx://host:port). I have posted this specific issue/question here on these forums as well as several JBOSS IRC channels and nobody can answer the question; however, there is an endless supply of community help if I am having this same issue (or any issue really) in Standalone Mode.

    The reason for my question (and perhaps over generalized statement) is that if the majority of the EAP community is on Standalone Mode, then I would argue it makes more sense for me (and my organization) to focus on Standalone Mode since there is a larger body of community help.
