In my observation, Firefox has been releasing more updates than before. What is the reason behind that?
in firefox release version notes Interesting points that I found were you are fixing bugs and reporting new bugs with the every release, why do you release the product in the market if you know the issues ? with every release? What is the reason behind that?

Does this conclude here ? NO . Firefox crashes most of the times, sometimes flashplayer has been crashed , many times firefox is not reponding . Why can't these be fixed permanently?

DB:3.82:Why Firefox Has Been Releasing More Updates These Days kz

Firefox updates every 6 weeks, and has been doing this since Mid 2012. This is part of Rapid Release, https://blog.lizardwrangler.com/2011/08/25/rapid-release-process/.

The only known bugs we ship with are either affect a very small portion of users, or aren't reliably reproducible for us to fix (if you look at the release notes there are only 4 known bugs, and they have been the same for many releases and almost nobody is affected by them).

As for your Firefox crashing and freezing, try resetting it, Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings. Flash is a separate issue that Adobe has to fix, there is nothing Mozilla can do about that that we haven't already done.

    What\'s the status on SP3 ?

    It\'s been about a year since SP2

Novell should be releasing updates on a far more regular schedule like

    Firefox, Chrome, Windows Updates, etc

Still no announcement on GW 2014 release in spite of being up to beta

10 on the product. Again, a more frequent patch schedule would

alleviate some concerns of need to have a perfiect prodcut prior to

I\'ve been testing 2014 for quite a while and keepoing on top of the

Yes, this has been debated. Your best bet is to bring this up with

There were some show stoppers along the way. I think we are past them

DISCLAIMER: This thread is currently under construction, and will be edited for the remainder of today. Please excuse any blank spaces or crossed-out placeholders for items expected to be announced.

Today is Microsoft Tuesday --- the SECOND Tuesday of the month --- on which Microsoft is expected to release its monthly cycle of Windows critical/security updates. Based on previous history, they should become available at 1 P.M. [USA - EasternStandard Time]

Please use Windows/Automatic Updates to determine which updates are applicable to your particular system.

And as a reminder, there should be no more updates for XP [aside from the MSRT, which Microsoft will continue to provide for XP through July 14, 2015]...

    -------------------

Adobewill be joining-in today, with updates for Flash [16.0.0.257]. And Mozilla should be releasing Firefox 35.

    DB:2.91:Updates 1/13/15 - Microsoft Tuesday, Flash, Firefox k8

One of the optional updates I was offered was for .NET Framework 4.5.2 . This program/version was apparently released [for manual download] back in May, 2014... but only just now was added to [automatic] Windows Updates.

I had something called .NET Framework 4.0 CLIENT on my system... which I believe is a partial version of .NET. When I saw the 4.5.2 among the optional updates, I debated whether to install it or not. I figured it was probably best to do so.

It appears the limited Client version I had was removed. The full 4.5.2 version --- for the sake of backwards compatibility --- includes (some) files for .NET versions 1.0.3705, 1.1.4322, 2.0.50727, 3.0, 3.5, and 4.0.30319.

No sooner did these get installed, when Secunias PSI advised me these versions had vulnerabilities! And sure enough, when I went back to Windows Updates, it now found 4 additional important updates for .NET (that werent there prior to my going for the optional update)!

Perhaps I should have just left things alone with the Client version I had. Regardless, I have no desire to risk UNinstalling 4.5.2 at this point.

DB:2.87:Cannot Properly Update From 7.0 To 7.01. What Is Going On? f7

    Hello!

I notice that FIREFOX has been releasing browser updates quite frequently as of late. I have been updating my browser as they come along ... until 7.01 came out. It not only does NOT fully install on my IMac (iMac 10,1 - 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor - less than 1 year old) ... but is being incredibly vexing:

I did the usual update process for 7.01 when presented with the SOFTWARE UPDATE WINDOW (as I recall; less than 1 WEEK after I rcvd an UPDATE for 7.0, which installed normally enough) - but the 7.01 dropped a Firefox icon on my desktop, which I put in my APPLICATIONS FOLDER. This did not MOVE the icon. Inexplicably it only COPIED it to the folder - leaving a FIREFOX icon still on my desktop. I then put THAT ONE in a special FIREFOX folder that I keep for general Firefox info, etc. SAME RESULT ... only COPIED icon to that folder. ALSO a Firefox "volume" appeared on my desktop. Normally these disappear upon exiting my system and coming back. in THIS CASE, both the Firefox ICON - AND the VOLUME icon remain - for weeks now. I can't REMOVE them without taking them to the trash, which I am loathe to do, fearing I would LOSE FIREFOX COMPLETELY from my system.

I find that FIREFOX 7.o is what my system is still running - it does not seem to recognize the 7.01 that arrived, in any way.

Meanwhile, I continue to get the SOFTWARE UPDATE (for 7.01) window appearing when I open my (7.0) browser). I tried AGAIN to install from that - and only got MORE icons growing on my desktop.

By the way, I have a YAHOO/ATT eMail - AND a YAHOO Homepage. YAHOO often causes interfering and/or site-specific browser problems. THIS may be a factor. I have NO idea.

MY GUESS is that something(?) did not complete - or get recognized in the INSTALL PROCESS (with the install window/process/move to app. folder sequence.

    WHAT I NEED is:

    1) to be able to successfully, completely UPDATE to 7.01 -and

    2) have these fool icons quit reappearing (and multiplying upon dragging them to folders).

I assume that once 7.01 IS fully installed, that all of this nonsense will stop; I will not see "NEW UPDATE TO 7.01" windows appear / I will NOT have "sticky" icons crowding my desktop / my SYSTEM WILL then SHOW "FIREFOX 7.01" as my current browser.

WHAT IS GOING ON? WHAT DO I DO FROM HERE?

I am at a complete loss (baffled, frustrated, kicked to the curb).

I am not familiar with sophisticated programmer / developer terms/shorthand. PLEASE, anybody answering this (thankyouthankyouthankyou!!!) write clearly and simply, so I am not stumped by being told to do something that I cannot figure out the meaning of ... I see that kind of answer in some other posts I viewed, trying to find what to do, though none of those posts were exactly my scenario.

All I want to do is get 7.01 to fully install, as/per the usual installation package process that appears when an UPDATE is downloaded.

    THANKS!!

p.s. assuming that I will get an eMail when I get a response.
I will NOT be able to FIND this - or whatever the correct page is- to hunt daily for responses.
    My eMail is:

chances are problems with ubisoft servers. Don't worry 360 version of GRAW2 has simalar problems you have. (however might be to do with internet connection but can't be sure)

Still you are gettting worked up about a small matter.

The best thing to do is contact Ubisoft with the problem and they can try and fix it.

Having a rant on a PS forum will do nothing towards solving the problem

Ok, This has been happening more and more recently and it has gotten to the point of absurdity. I have a lot of Apps, 7 Gigs worth. Recently, when I update a Game, the update remains in the "Updates" section of the App Store. I only update using the actual Ipod Touch 2nd Gen. After I update, it still tells me that I didn't, so I download the update again, and it is still there.

More and more games are doing this, and they are filling my update page with stuff I have already updated 3 times. They just wont go away. They are the same exact updates, it is not like the Developers are releasing new updates everyday. I can not figure out what it going on.

For Example, "Modern Combat: Sandstorm" released an update today fixing the broken Multiplayer. I have already tried TWICE to download it. Each time, the update downloads fine, but it remains in the stupid Update page that is now absolutely cluttered. From what I can tell, the updates are actually downloading and being implemented in my games, they just wont go away from the page. Any Help before I continue to ramble???

    DB:2.74:Updates Remaining After Updating. da

yh, im getting this problem, it seems that it downloads and installs fine, but after this process reverts back to its previous version, hence the update popping up again. for example, this morning i tried updating 'mbox mail' to the v3.0 to find that the icon had not changed (there was an icon change in the update) and when i opened it up again it said v2.1.2 at the bottom, not v3.0 like the update said. i tried again and even deleted and reinstalled it, but no luck.
could apple please fix this in thier next update as this is getting very annoying. thanks

In the last couple of months I have been getting Firefox update notices in the bottom right hand corner of my desktop.

When clicking on a few of these updates, all with different numbers or versions, my computer gets infected with programs I do not want. There are NO options to not get these unwanted programs.

So I don't know if these are genuine Firefox updates, or not.

I am wondering if you at Mozilla are aware of this..because, as for me, I will not tolerate this type of activity.

    DB:2.69:Too Many Firefox Updates da

    Chosen Solution

If you are getting other software bundled with a Firefox "update" it's malware or some third-party program, not Firefox.

Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware can help, also run through your installed programs list and see if there is anything along the lines of "update(r)" there and remove it. Firefox updates never show up in the lower right hand corner, so this is something else.

You can always disable any addons that you are not using. Use Tools - Add-ons

I often use an old slow XP myself usually without major problems.

Progress is such that browsers will tend to become faster, but will also tend to need higher powered machines. A 2002 machine is bound to struggle with a lot of modern software.

If for instance you disable your FlashPlayer (shockwave) that will prevent firefox using some animations/videos and almost certainly speed up some page loads. Use Tools - Add-ons.

You could also consider turning off use of javascript
    Use Tools - options

That also allows you to turn off automatic image loading and block some popups.

In preparation for the upcoming code freeze and release of Milestone 2 I will be releasing some updates to our base build projects.

Once these are completed I will update richfaces /trunk to use them, and update the svn_externals to point to them.

I have released all three modules listing above, updated trunk ( including svn:external links ) and committed the updates.

Everything was building, and passing all tests. Please let me know if you have any issues with the build.

I recommend a full update to get all changes.

I'm not going to work on the mock release of M2 in a development branch ( not 100% sure you can release from a development branch ). You may see some tagging, and various updates from that.

Naddie,Install the Nightly Tester Tools extension. Restart Firefox, then go to Tools--Addons. Click the Extensions tab. You should see a "Make All Compatible" button at the bottom of the pop-up. Click it, then restart Firefox again. All of your "incompatible" extensions should now work. You can also do the same thing with any themes that don't work.Take note that this is NOT the same extension that is available from the Add-ons site. It's actually the original, the new "Lite" version does nothing and is not worth downloading.posted from Firefox 3.0a2pre for Windows inside a Parallels VM window on Mac OSX (yes, all my extensions and themes work!)

    Hi all,

I've been trying to download the Firefox 3v3.5.9 and 3v3.6.3 updates but it keeps failing. I'm able to download MS, Adobe, Quicktime, etc...and other Firefox updates but these versions just won't come down. The message I get indicates that these patches do not exist.

    Anyone else seeing this?

    Thanks

    DB:2.57:Firefox Updates Won't Download m1

You can try a couple things,

    1. You can just manually download the file (you can use the path specified in the patch, or just go get it. Then rename the file to match that of the name that LANDesk gave it.

    2. You can go to the SQL database and run the query below, find the "Type" column and change it from a "0" to a "4", which will make it a custom def. After it is a custom def, you can go and delete it, and then redownload content, that might work...

    select * from vulnerability where vul_id = 'FIREFOX3v3.5.9_ENU'

If it is just this one patch, the first would be my suggestion. If you have several, I would do either.

The new software update for E72 in India is quite disappointing.

The original transition-effects of E72 have been removed.

Adding multiple songs to a new playlist doesn't return any success message and it also allows duplicate addition of songs.

Many more failures in this update like apps don't close on hitting the disconnect key which used to. (e.g.. Gallery)

I wonder if some testing is done before releasing the software updates for end-users!

This was being done multiple times for each row (as multiple fields had a check) I simplified this routine so that it was much faster and viola! It works in a reasonable speed. The logs still have lots of confusing stuff, but I guess that's normal. Thanks!Joe

It randomly seems to change what order stuff is displyed in the toolbar - bookmarks are now at the end instead of next to the reload button, but more seriously, all my Mint KDE icons have been replaced by ones that look much worse. Firefox is now V30, the latest, though when I initially installed Mint 17 last week I think it came up with Firefox v28. Why does Firefox lose its nice integration with Mint KDE when it updates? Can I go back to the version that is compatible with Mint 17 KDE and if so how? And how do I then stip Firefox updating itself and spoiloing things.

PS, this never happend in Mint 13, when Firefoox behaved wonderfully. Please leave good things alone or I will be tempted to change my browser.

I'm not sure it Firefox will use KDE icons.
On Linux Firefox is a GTK+ application and the icon pack as installed under GNOME is used AFAIK.

DB:2.53:Issues After Recent Windows Updates 7k

I have recently been encountering problems after installing recent updates with the system freezing whenever I close either Firefox, or IE - I have to force close windows by holding power button in and then reboot.
My desktop runs Windows 7 Home 64 bit.
No problems with desktop for over a year until I installed all the Important and optional windows updates in March when "freezing issue occured". Tried resetting firefox, no success, and could not manage to get any recent resore point to work. I ended up recovering
my system from a full Acronis back up that I did in January. I ran windows update (after sorting 8024800A problem with help from these forums) and only installed the numerous Important Updates (lots of them as I had gone recovered my system via Acronis). I
did not install the optional updates that included Nvidia , printer and various other windows updates. All was well with no problems and I did full Acronis back up on Monday 8 April.

The latest batch of Windows Updates became available on Tuesday and I adopted following approach:
    a) Installed all Critical/Important updates - with resore point successfully created
    b) Installed all optional updates, including large nvidia 9500GT update with resore point successfully created.
Insttalling b) took a long time as nvidia update was large but all updates (a b) were shown as being successfully installed.
The freezing problem when closing firefox or IE then cropped up again!
    I then tried the following:
    1) Firefox reset - no impact
    2) Running restore point created before intalling optional updates per b) above. Failed.........
    3) Rolling back nvidia driver.......failed

I then decided to recover my system to its stable state, pre updates, using the backup that I did on Monday.
    Acronis recovery successful.
I then ran windows update which now included Nvidia 9500GT in the Important category (previously optional - methinks another release providing games support for Bioshock etc!), along with the usual Optionals for windows and printers.

I believe that Nvidia updates are the source of my problems and have only installed the non NVidia important updates so far.
    Everthing currently stable.

As I only perform basic browsing, email. word, excel type tasks on this pc I do not need a graphics card that can support latest games releases and am planning on following the "if it a'int broken, dont fix it approach!! My old video driver seems to be stable
and is not causing problems, and my printer is also working well with no problems.

Does the fact that a Nvidia 9500GT update ( 200mb) is now being shown as being important, rather than optional, imply that I am at risk if i do not install? My instince tells me that intalling it will cause me more grief!

Is it "safe" to ignore optional windows, printer etc updates and Important/optional nvidia updates so long as i continue intalling Critical/Important Windows updates?

Would appreciate feedback re my proposed approach to updates, and on the problem encountered.

Is there a way of removing the Important Nvidia update from the list as it seems that I will have to continue ensuring it remains unticked whenever plan to install future important updates.......

Many thanks in avance (apologies for somewhat long post)

DB:2.53:Issues After Recent Windows Updates 7k

Thanks for info re suggested methods to resolve. I am hoping that system stays stable and that I will not have to try methods that you set out - fingers crossed.

Would appreciate feedback on my proposed approach to ignore "Important NVidia update" that I believe is causing problem and Hide it in Windows Update.

Firefox 5 updated for me last night (23 June 2011), and since then I am getting continual problems with Flash crashing out on almost every page it's on. I have checked for futher updates for both Firefox and Flash, but there are none.

It was fine until the update, doesn't anyone test updates before releasing them any more? If I wanted my browser to run slowly and crash all the time, I would have stuck with IE9!

DB:2.53:New Update To Firefox 5 Makes Flash Crash All The Time! 9m

    Helpful Reply

I'm having this problem too, started around some version 4 minor, up untill now. After every single update to Firefox ( and those are a lot ), Flash freezes.

Please note this is NOT a Firefox bug. It is a problem with Flash which they are not able to fix. It goes even this far that the Firefox team decided to run plugins in a separate plugin container so at least your browser doesnt crash. ( see also: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/The%20Adobe%20Flash%20plugin%20has%20crashed )

Of course it's just ridiculous that Macromedia won't fix this issue so other developers of completely separate software have to resort to these kind of measures just too keep the error reporst low.

Another problem is that Flash won't use the proper update feature of Firefox ( thus auto-updating after every new version of Firefox ) but instead keep using stand-alone updates.

The only thing you can do is after every update to Firefox, go to add-ons, check for updates and update Flash manually. There is sometimes a couple of days between a FF update and a Flash update.

Best thing should be to ditch Flash altogether, but unfortunately too many sites and CMSes rely on Flash being installed :(

    Thank you

    Here's how I reverted to 7.1.5:

    1. Back-up your computer's hard drive (so if there's problems during the re-installation later, you have everything saved).
    2. Put in your original 10.4 disk, reboot, and hold the "C" key down to boot from the CD.
    3. Do an "Archive and Install". This will save the previous system files to a folder called "Previous System" and re-install 10.4.0
    4. Once 10.4.0 is installed, use Software Update/downloading to bring all your software back up to date, EXCEPT for QuickTime!

WHY does Firefox keep releasing Betas and not a final new version? Whenever Firefox has a new version, my Norton password utility stops working. Granted, I have everything Norton except the password utility disabled, but I DO need that. I've learned not to update Firefox until Norton updates its stuff to be compatible with the new Firefox. Some time ago I checked with Norton to see if they'd updated yet, and was told they would not update for a Beta. Since that time, ALL Firefox updates have been Betas. Since I can't afford to lose my passwords, I don't dare update Firefox. Why in the He-- can't Firefox release an actual new version so that Norton will update compatibility, so I can update my Firefox? Right now I'm stuck on Ffx 23, and if they keep releasing nothing but Betas, I'm going to have to stop using Firefox.

DB:2.52:Cannot Update Firefox Becuse Norton Will Not Update Password Utility For Betas 1z

Mozilla always has 4 concurrent channels of builds running. One Release channel and 3 channels for pre-release builds which are in different stages of the process leading to release.

    Release

    Beta

    Aurora - 2nd alpha stage

    Nightly - 1st alpha stage

The latter 3 are intended primarily to be used by users who test the pre-release builds.

Whichever version the user installs is the channel they are updated within. Beta users are updated to the next Beta version (which comes from Aurora), within a few days of a Beta version becoming the new Release version - every 6 weeks.

    Hi!
Since the update to 30.0 I have NO navigation buttons; NO search area, (for the website's address); NONE of my addons function I'm still trying to deal with issues that the last update to 29.0.1 messed-up! I can't even see what was on the previous web page because I don't have any "arrow" buttons!
I started using Firefox exclusively about 6 years ago because it was more secure I could "make it my own" by arranging everything the way I wanted it, but something's wrong here, because since v. 29.0 Firefox has been one annoying problem after another.
In 29.0 29.0.1, even right-clicking selecting "customize" didn't work---it just opened a blank page that said "about: customize", that's it---no info or instructions---just a blank page!!
Sorry if I sound 'testy', but "Updates" are supposed to improve things, or add new features to an already existing product or service; these last 3 updates have me totally frustrated, because they didn't improve anything instead of adding features it wiped away everything that was there!!!
I apologize for being a bit 'ranty', but I'm out of patience with Firefox.
PLEASE---if someone has a solution, post it quickly before I decide to switch browsers.
Thank you for reading my post---again, sorry for my demeanor, but I get upset when I can't even click an arrow button to see what was on a previous web page---grrr

I'm SO VERY grateful for your kindness patience as you guided me through a very frustrating couple of days; unfortunately, sometimes it's hard to find people who are willing to share their time for things these days, but BOTH of you were AWESOME!

jscher, I did the 'safe mode' procedure first, but I still didn't have things back to normal; however the experience was a valuable learning tool---if I have issues in the future I know I can use this method to troubleshoot, so "Thank you"!

I checked my email late last night was so frustrated because I thought Firefox was in my past I detest ALL other browsers with a passion; then I read cor-el's instructions even though it was 2 AM I decided I'd give it one more try, so i followed the un-install-re-install procedure from Mozillazine, low behold it worked!!!!
So far everything is back to normal the only issue I still have, (that even has Adobe baffled), is a bizarre Flash-related error problem that effects 4 sites ONLY..weird, huh?!

Anyway, thank you BOTH for helping me restore Firefox---Friday the 13th turned out to be 'lucky' for me!

    Hi all

I am looking into creating a new mobile app that has multiple sections (14 in total).

What's the best way of going about this?

I don't mind releasing the app with all the content in each section having an unlock code but how does this work?

I'm thinking I will have to create 14 versions of the app (each with a different free section unlocked) + 14 additional section update apps.

Can I get these updates to tell my main app that they have been purchased pass a unlock code (rather than an app being installed on the users' device)?

If not, can I create a self-destroying app to update an encrypted file that the main app can read?

    Hope someone can help...

    Cheers

Adobe AIR does not natively expose those APIs today.

You could roll your own approach. somehow.

Or you could use Native Extensions w/ AIR 3 to expose the APIs of the underlying store.

I expect that over the course of the next few months this will be a hot topic in the native extension front.

While I was on the internet, a box opened saying firefox needed to install some updates - I said OK - even though I rarely have luck with ANY updates, and this has proved to be no exception. After the update completed, everything froze or stopped responding. I tried to "end task" in task manager and even task manager stopped responding. I did a system restore to yesterday (before the update) but Firefox would not run - I have uninstalled, re-installed, system restore AGAIN, restarted my computer (not necessarily in the order listed - I've been dealing with this since 11:33 this morning - it is now 2:41 in the afternoon) and still firefox will not run. I even went to the "firefox.exe" and clicked it and it will not run. In one of these pages, it would not let me send feedback unless I upgraded. I have not closed the browser since the last install, in which I re-installed 3.6, which is the only reason I am still on the internet using firefox; however, internet explorer is still open, too. Earlier, when I would "send error report" a window would open with "more information". The first time (earlier this morning) I clicked "more information", it took me to your website and I downloaded the "upgrade", AGAIN. Now when I click "more information" it says "cannot find" and then some long file name. There are reasons I do not do upgrades and this is just proving me right. l don't know if I will be able to re-open my web browser using firefox after I close this session, but PLEASE fix your update so I, or anyone else, don't have to go through this again! I cannot provide crash id's as there are too many and I have work to do. Hope you can fix this and thanks for listening.

I don't understand why Firefox keeps putting out these updates/new versions, etc. They obviously cause so many problems for people after they install the updates -- and then Firefox never seems to offer any solutions to these problems. Do they NOT test their product/updates before releasing them? Why not leave well enough alone and save people the constant hassles that result from these updates???

DB:2.50:Why Do The People At Firefox Not Offer Solutions To The Problems Their Products Create? 17

    Question owner

Yes, I realize that Firefox is free, but that doesn't really negate the validity of anyone's frustrations. I just wish they would warn people better about the problems that the updates can cause before asking people to update. Most people rely very heavily on their computers for work, etc. and not everyone has the time or ability to easily undo the problems that the updates cause. Again, if it was just a one-time thing that I've had to deal with, I wouldn't mind as much.

What factors affected the release of this Security Advisory?

A sufficient number of wireless service providers must make a security software update for BlackBerry smartphones publicly available to customers before RIM will publish full details of the software update in a Security Advisory. RIM delivered the software updates to its wireless service provider partners. Where a wireless service provider may not have then provided the software updates to all customers, this policy is intended to protect those customers from increased risk of exploitation.

Within two weeks of learning of the vulnerabilities that this Security Advisory addresses RIM tested and delivered fixed software to our wireless service provider partners for their Technical Acceptance process. During the Technical Acceptance process, RIM monitored update availability for nine affected devices available through nearly 500 carriers globally until an availability level was achieved that allowed us to be confident that disclosure of the security vulnerabilities addressed by the software update would protect the interests of the majority of our customers.

command? When I was trying to integrate updates into os image via third party tools there was a Windows Update Downloader which downloaded all updates for both x86 and x64 into single folder called Windows Update Downloader with subfolders for Security Updates,
Non-Security Updates . . . Afterwards when integrating those updates to windows image, tool was smart enough to integrate only appropriate updates (x86 updates to x86 image and x64 updates to x64 image).

I tried to use these already downloaded updates as input for DISM - I created one folder with all these updates for both architectures but I was very surprised to see DISM adding x64 updates to win x86 image and vice versa. How on Earth it does not know
that those can not mix and match. After 110 updates errors were everywhere.
From now on I prefer to use DISM to manipulate with images. Third party tools I have been using until today are user-friendly but very unreliable and very slow. Maybe I am wrong?

DB:2.49:Lock Entries Since Long Time mx

    Hi Experts,

It has been observed in SM12 that there are lock entries from long time, usually it should not be lock for more that 5 secs but it locking the object for about 7-8 hours.

When the data flowing from third party system to SAP CRM system it is locking few tables for the update and it is not releasing for long time.

We are not facing this problem when the flow is minimum (say 1 request per second) and if we increase the data flow say (2 request per second) then we are facing this problem.

Could you please let me know due to what factors these lock are not releasing. Is it fault in code?

Or its due the increased flow. If its due to the increased flow what measures should be taken to resolve this problem.

    Thanks!

    Nagaraju

That note wont be helpful for you becuase it was for an ERP system. But the issue was with the SQL query in the program. May be if you report the issue with SAP, they will be able to help.

    DB:2.49:Windows Server Updates z3

    Hi,

Why not install SP2? SP2 fixes many bugs and improves the security of the system. You’d better install SP2 first and then install other available updates.

If you prefer to use SP1, just check for updates and install all available updates.

    Hope it helps.

I have a Silverlight app I am releasing to a number of users, and 2 IE6 users have a serious issue where the app causes the browser to hang on any attempt to send an update to a Data Services endpoint. The request IS received as the requested updates are
made to the database. Reading data from Data Services is no issue, and maybe 30 or 40 other installations have no problem like this, also it has been tested with IE6 in the development office with no issues.

One user has McAfee and the other has Symantec, so it doesn't seem likely to be a scanner issue. Using Firefox on one of the machines I did not encounter the problem. I tried connecting via http and https and the issue appeared in both protocols when using
IE6. It occurs at all points in the app where it attempts to write data.

I wonder if SL on IE6 relies on the user having received a Windows Update which is missing from these machines. I can only think the issue has something to do with Post Tunnelling as that is the only qualitative difference between read and write requests to
    Data Services.

Well, this worked on my desktop! But my problem is on my laptop. :-) I'm running XP, but there was no "Username" under Documents and Settings under the C drive. I did a search for those file names and it wasn't there. I found Mozilla Firefox folder under: C\Documents and Settings\ All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Mozilla Firefox. There are 2 - 1 is Mozilla Firefox (shortcut) and the other is Mozilla Firefox (Safe Mode). I did a Mozilla Firefox search and this is all that showed up.

When I click on the shortcut link (the 1st one), it opens up 2 screens of Firefox. One is the "this is embarrassing" screen. The other is "Choose your Persona" screen. I closed it and reopened and it took me to my home page.

If you can't switch to a proper security suite and you absolutely need all the browser integration bells and whistles, then you can downgrade to the ESR version of Firefox. It's a special version intented for organizations. It gets security patches regularly, but it only changes major versions once per year.

    http://www.mozilla.org/firefox/organizations/all.html

New major versions of Firefox have been released every 6 weeks since March 22nd, 2011.

    https://blog.mozilla.org/futurereleases/2011/07/19/every-six-weeks/

Every new major version contains security fixes. By sticking with an old version like 20.0.1, you're putting your system at risk.

    Chrome's release model is similar.

Internet Explorer for Windows XP is 2 major versions behind and will never be updated. In theory, it's supported with security patches for as long as Windows XP is supported, but not so much in practice.

Maybe someone can help me. I uninstalled Firefox 4 after 1 minute of usage for these reasons:

    1. They got rid of the "save and quit option"

    2. When I quit firefox with multple tabs open, it doesn't stop me (it only stops me when i close the window).

    3. They don't provide a little down arrow next to the back and forward buttons that let's you see a page history list like in firefox 3.

    4. They don't provide a way to keep your bookmarks toolbar just text, and your navigation toolbar just icons at the same time like in firefox 3.

    5. Firefox 4 is glitchy. I've noticed that going back and forward doesn't always work properly.

    6. Keyword search didn't work properly (see my other post)

    7. It was faster with some sites, but slower with others. Really slow with sites that have entry options.

I know firefox 4 was in beta mode recently. Maybe Mozilla should have had more public opinion before releasing it.

The constant pop-ups asking to update to the next version of Firefox are quite annoying. Particularly when they sometimes come every week or two. Just when I've learned and become comfortable with one version a completely different one comes along and makes my browsing experience slower and most annoying. I've found that updates are also sometimes released before there has been time to fully check them out and I prefer keeping older versions for several weeks before updating. Also, by doing this, I can avoid the chaos of multiple unnecessary updates when 2 or more occur within a month and I can avoid loading so many new versions so quickly. I would like to disable these annoying automatic updates and to be able to load new versions whenever I am ready to receive them. I don't need a pop-up in my face every time I use the browser. I prefer having this control over my computer, and not you (no offense). Is there a way to disable these updates and pop-ups? AAAARRGHH!!!

The constant pop-ups asking to update to the next version of Firefox are quite annoying. Particularly when they sometimes come every week or two. Just when I've learned and become comfortable with one version a completely different one comes along and makes my browsing experience slower and most annoying. The "Remember Password" extension has been reported to cause issues with the passwords disappearing, so if you have this extension then remove (uninstall) it.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools Add-ons Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools Add-ons Appearance

When I open Firefox and the page is finished loading, Firefox then revs and revs, spikes the CPU usage, in the Task Manager it is the only program acclerating, it sounds like it is dowloading a spiraling worm, carving a ton of info into my hard drive. Firefox is frozen and I cannot click on anything, nothing in Firefox responds. I don't have Firefox set to automatically update. I have read on other posts that the recent versions of Firefox have and auto-update of the something codes or codex or something, I thought I could wait this out but it has been 8 months now that Firefox has been more and more unusable.
Anyways this spiking, reving and freezing then happens every 10 minutes the first hour of use, then every 45 minutes after that, 3 seperate times, then after 2 hours this happens every time I click on a link. The problem gets incrementally worse the longer Firefox runs.
I have tried all the advice from the posts here, I have disabled and uninstalled every Add-On I had.
I have run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and SuperAntispyware, and Norton Power Eraser, I have no malware or spyware. I have the most recent versions of Firefox, Adobe, Java and Flash. And Windows is up to date. I always keep them all up to date. I do not have hardware acceleration on, etc...
I can only suggest that Firefox change these auto-update things that were added to Firefox about 3 or 4 versions/updates ago. They are not working.
I sincerely suspect that someone from Google Chrome may have infiltrated Mozilla Firefox.
Please someone get the fix to this asap, as dozens of us cannot stand this anymore.

    Hi,

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.
Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.

To Reset Firefox do the following:

Go to Firefox Help Troubleshooting Information.
    Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

Further information can be found in the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article.

Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!

I am using Chrome as my browser and as the browser evolves, I have noticed more problems with Swap File usage not being released. This problem also applies to Thunderbird (a Firefox-standalone email program) that I use for some email. I wonder if this is
    a WindowsXP SP3 issue, or a program/browser-specific issue? Thanks

DB:2.44:Different Programsbrowsers Not Releasing Memory Used kc

Can you clarify what you mean by "swap file usage not being released"? Are you monitoring some value that is meant to measure memory consumption of a process? If so, what application are you using to monitor the memory, and what values are you looking at?
Also, for chrome, what process are you looking at? Assuming it's chrome.exe, keep in mind that chrome uses a process isolation model for its tabs, and multiple chrome.exe processes tend to live and die in a browsing session. There is one "main" or "controller"
process, the first one, that would seem to make the most sense to monitor.
At any rate, generally, if, the longer an application runs the more resources it consumes, it may be indicative of a memory leak in the application. It could also be expected behavior of the app - the longer an app lives or the more one does with an app,
the more things an app may be keeping track of. The more things an app keeps track of, the more memory it may need to use. Hopefully an app would have some strategy for releasing memory associated with tracking things long term, to eliminate situations where
an app that is run for an extended period of time ultimately runs out of resources (or worse, affects the entire system in that fashion). But that would be a characteristic of the application, rather than the OS.
Are you experiencing performance issues or the like as a result of what you notice, or are you just making an observation?

update, does the file contains the hotfix related to the bug?

    Generally, no.
This is a process not unique to Microsoft, but applies to all software development activities. Anytime an issue is found in a piece of code, a branch of that code is built in the development efforts to repair that fix. The focus in that branch is only on
that fix. Once the fix is implemented, then the fix is rolled back into the main branch for final regression testing before release.
If, during that effort, another issue is identified, another branch of that code is initiated to address the separate issue.
These two branches are released to you as separate updates. They'll be merged together in the next service pack.Lawrence Garvin, M.S., MCITP:EA, MCDBA, MCSA

    Where is our Update ATT?

Why does it takes soooooooo long to get a simple update?

I reinstalled a new system 10.9 on another partition and it won't let me use Safari or update software using a proxy server. Firefox works fine (I am using it to post). I am very disappointed that this wasn not fully tested BEFORE releasing Mavericks. Any solutions would be greatly appreciated.

ttgreen1950This solved my problem....FINALLY.The only thing that I did in additin to your steps is that I deleted all of the old keys for my proxy server and then reentered the settings. This problem was driving me nuts since upgrading to Mavericks. If I could award 1000 points I would. Actually I did not see an option for "This sovled my Problem".I can't thank you enough

    DB:2.44:Gran Turismo 5 Updates A Suggestion f8

Since the launch of Gran Turismo 5 there have been a lot of updates the latest one surpasing 600MB.

Now there are those who are without PSN who wont be able to bennefit from these updates without having to be connected to PSN. Heres a simple yet cost effective suggestion.

Bring Out another GT5 title but this time rename it like GT5 Extension since that what it is and then releasing that on disc will allow those who dont have PSN to upgrade there copy of Gran Turismo 5 and will also be able to apply the updates without PSN.

It would be very considerate to help those without PSN and theres quite a lot of people without it

Simple answer. Get official playstation mag to stick the updates every month on the cover disc.

No need to thank me for thinking old school!
