    it takes 24-48 hours for a new box to be correctly added to your account. you should sign out of the app and back in also if your doing this remotely.

    Using the online DVR manager, just tried to schedule a third recording for a time when two recordings were already scheduled and showing as scheduled in the online scheduling guide. I received the following notice: "The selected DVR is in use and not able to accept additional recordings at this time."

    There has been no dates released, as the nextguide version needed for the SA area's hasn't even gone into any public rollouts anywhere. Talk of the beta isn't even on the web.

    Until your area receives a newer I-guide, (guessing S28) then it will not be available.

    you need to call comcast and activate it and make sure they have the right box on your account, it will also take a few days for dvr manager to work.

    You are most likely on a Scientific Atlanta / Cisco equipped cable system.

    The rollout of these features is just starting this summer. The first step is for your system to receive Guide 2.0. Once Comcast notifies you that you will be receiving Guide 2.0, then you know you will be getting close to receiving these features.

    Right now, a handful of area's are on Guide 2.0 with the AnyRoom DVR option. Stand alone DVR's will be getting it over the next year.

    If you have a Motorola DVR, then it would be an account coding issue that a Comcast support agent can fix with a call.

    I have 2 DVRS. One I call FAMILY ROOM and other DOWNSTAIRS. From my computer DVR Manager i usually set to record on DOWNSTAIRS DVR. I have set DOWNSTAIRS as DEFAULT DVR. BUt now when I schedule it puts it on FAMILY ROOM DVR. And it switches my default DVR to FR. This is frustrating the heck out of me. I never used to have this problem. I can usually switch back by first cancelling the FR recording then it goes to Modify and I can change to DOWNSTAIRS DVR.

    Side note what is TV CONTROL in DVR manager....it has on and off button but no explanation.

    I can confirm on the new format tv listings page the record is sending to the desired DVR here also. The change channel feature doesn't seem to work but I don't care too much about that. Sometimes that feature doesn't work and the next day it does, so it's worth waiting a day and trying again on the channel change.

    DVR Manager is available in my area (southern Vermont), according to Comcast, but my DVR, according to Comcast tech support, does not support DVR manager. It's a Cisco DVR. Has anyone else experienced or solved this problem?

    Only recently the DVR manager is availabe to selectCisco area's. Right now it is only available if you order the AnyRoom DVR option.

    Stand alone DVR's will get the upgrade by the end of the year in most areas. Comcast will notify you of the new guide 2.0 upgrade. Once you have the guide 2.0 installed on your DVR, then you know it will be very soon that the DVR manager will be available to you.

    Until guide 2.0 is installed in your area and on your equipment, it is not yet available.

    You can contact Comcast about ordering the AnyRoom DVR, and you most likely get it when that installation takes place.

    I have had hd/dvr for almost a year now and my dvr gets full with hardly any recordings?? its quite aggravating when you have to reset box more than 4x a day and it still doesn't fix the dvr it is 92 percent full with barely any recordings, not happy with this at all.

    Are you trying to record from the TV Listings page? Are you clicking record and it is taking you to your DVR manager page but not setting the recording?

    The service also is not available in all markets that have cisco SA cable boxes .

The DVR manager has the record schedule from my old DVR and it thinks the new one is 100% full. When I try to record something online, it says that they DVR is no longer part of the system (I think it's looking for the old one). I tried the manager on my XFinity app on my phone, and that isn't seeing it at all.

    When did you connect your DVR? It sometimes can take up to 24 hours to fully sync.

    I tried to set up the DVR manager and right after this, my DVR stopped working entirely. I have had my cable boxes swapped out, the boxes "reset", etc. My DVR still does not work with the new boxes. When I try to manager my DVR devices i get a message saying that a sync is in progess, yet I have not tried to sync my new boxes to the DVR manager. Could my DVR issue be related to my sync issue with DVR manager?

    Have you tried the following:

    Dvr syncing usually takes some time about 24-48 hrs?

    Try to rename the DVR's name in DVR manager and see if that helps?

    Have you called 1-800 comcast or 1-800 xfinity to see if there might be some accounting code not set correctly?

    Thanks for the help. I've got it working now. The page you described is not the one I was seeing. I got an "advertisement" for the DVR Manager, asking me if I wanted the app for ipad or android. However, there was also a link saying "Check to see is the DVR Manager available in your area." I had not clicked on this because I knew it was available (Very strange wording.). However, that was the link to use after all. It took me into the DVR Manager that I was familiar with.

    For our Comcast areas in Florida where we use Cisco and Scientific-Atlanta branded cable boxes, the DVR Manager feature is not yet active (except for the Panama City, FL area). Apologies for the delay. We currently expect to have this feature added to the remainder of our Florida locations in early 2014. Thanks for your patience.

    The DVR Manager feature is available with our new X1 Experience (details at the link below). The X1 Experience requires a professional installation with new cable boxes.

    It may be up in the Chicago area, but doesn't really work very well. Try to move a series between DVRs on the website, ERROR. Try to cancel a series (to then recreate it), ERROR. Great potential, poor implementation.

    That is not possible. All you do with the app is watch on demand type videos with the play now feature or you can schedule recordings through it.

    make sure you have your zip code in there correct and not have it set to auto. Also you can check it if you go to menu, menu, set up, remote access set up. If its there you can delete it and then try to resnych.

    Thanks JayinAlg, I had the same issue with the 'loading' icon spinning forever. It is apparently beyond Comcast's capabilities to indicate that the service is not available instead of having customers grow old waiting for the alleged 'download'. Regrettably, Atlanta appears to be a market that is not in Comcast's pipeline for enhanced features like DVR manager. More vaporware.

    It might be overheating, make sure there is plenty of open space on all sides of the box, and that the box is not sitting on anything that generates heat.

    The drive, electronics or power supply could be failing.

    You can take the box to the local office for a swap, bring the remote with.

    Sorry, it is impossible for the external drive to connect and read the files from the drive and make them useable to a pc. The same with a Tivo, the drives are "married" to the device and can't be moved to another device and make them useable. These files do have some copy protection flag and formatsto prevent these files to be useable to anything else.

    The Studios have alot to do with how much these files are locked down and not able to copy off a drive or from device to device. They make it almost impossible to do anything with these files.

    With Tivo's multiple DVR's on the same account can move files from box to box or to a pc, as every device has the same "key" to keep the copy protection sync'd between the devices. Premium's and certain shows always have some copy protection that makes them impossible to move or play on another device. On the Tivo's you can't share these files to another user with their own Tivo, but they can be stored on a server or other storage device and then copied back when they are to be played.

    There are other solutions for archiving, justnot with a a Comcast DVR. The intent of a Comcast DVR is casual time-shifting and nothing more. Comcast Motorola equipped area's never were able to add a extra drive on those DVR's, which is over 80% of the Comcast systems.

    Priority manager just gives recordings priority over others if there is a conflict, I do not believe if you change the record option to delete as space is needed it would not delete series or shows that have higher priority, it most likely deletes the oldest first. I have never had to use this as I dont use my dvr for archieving just for time shifting and recording and watching.

    If that was the case you could do that on your cable box.

    your area most likely has not been upgraded to the newest dvr manager software to do what you want.

    it has been 57 days since you posted it would be 45 days for my DVR to be supported by DVR manager.

    If I swap devices I obviously lose anything already in my DVR's memory plus the massive inconvience of waiting in line and having all the account codes changed, pulling out the existing unit from my entertainment console and rewiring the new one. (I asked specifically when I first picked up this unit if DVR manager was supported. I was told WITHOUT ANY DOUBT by the personnel at the COMCAST OFFICE that is WAS SUPPORTED.     DVR Manager is expected to be available to all of our Scientific-Atlanta and Cisco branded DVRs by the end of the year. We have already started the site by site activation (DVR Manager requires some additional new guide software and some infrastructure to be activated).

    I live in St. Paul, MN. I tried to set up My DVR Manager 5 days ago. It said it would take 24 hours to sync. I'm still receiving the following message: "You're now ready to schedule DVR recordings from anywhere.Syncing in Process. DVR Manager is currently syncing with your DVR."

    Is there something wrong? Why is it not syncing properly?

    Apologies for the issue you described. DVR Manager is available in Northbrook, IL and works with the MotorolaDVR that youhave.

    Not yet. Very soon.

    We have already started to deliver additional features in several locations where we use Scientific-Atlanta and Cisco branded cable boxes.

    The Comcast areas in Pennsylvania where we use Cisco and Scientific-Atlanta branded cable boxes are targeted to receive this guide update during the first three months of 2013.

    Our next new deployments are in New Mexico and Texas; those areas are scheduled for this month.

    There have been a few minor issues with a small number of cable boxes that we have discovered during extensive lab testing and our initial customer trials.

    We have adjusted these things in order to have a better overall customer experience. The recent storms and some competing priorities coupled with the necessary software adjustments are some reasons why we have been delayed our next locations were moved to this month. Apologies for the delay and thanks for your continued patience.

    Got following message trying to set up DVR Manager -

    Right now compatible boxes are on Motorola equipped cable systems.

    Scientific Atlanta / Cisco equipped systems are being upgraded, and most should be done by the end of December. Both guide upgrades and backend work is necessary for these features to be available.

    Comcast will notify you as soon as your specific area is done. Some SA / Cisco area's can get these features now if the AnyRoom DVR is ordered.

    My online DVR Manager says "This DVR has no recorded programs", even though I have lots of shows recorded. It even says its "17% full".

    Anyone know how to resolve this?
