    I dont believe what happened to me this night.

    I finally managed to run update to Plesk 10.1.1. After it was done, my Apache stopped to work. All my sites gone down. I paid for chat support $15, no body answered for 2 hours... Hours are passing... I have websites with thousands of clients...

    I was desperate... Then I found info on the net there was a bug in the latest version of Plesk (?!) and that I must upgrade PHP....

    You guys really dont care about your clients. I will be looking to change Plesk for cPanel or anything else as soon as possible.

    Please answereach of the following [admittedly tedious]diagnostic questions in a correspondingly-numbered list in your very next reply (no need to quote this post):
    1. What is the full name of your installed anti-virus application or security suite and
    when (approx. date) does your current subscription expire? What anti-spyware applications (other than Defender) are installed? What third-party firewall (if any)?
    2. Has a(nother) Norton application or a McAfee application EVER been installed on the computer?
    3. Did a Norton free-trial or a McAfee free-trial [PICK ONE] come preinstalled on the computer when you bought it? (Doesn't matter if you never used or Activated it.)
    4a. Is Internet Explorer6 (IE6), IE7or IE8 installed?
    4b. Is Firefox, Chrome or any other alternate browser installed?
    5. Are you in the habit of using "Registry cleaners" (e.g., Registry Mechanic; System Mechanic; RegCure; RegClean Pro; Advanced SystemCare; Registry Booster; McAfee QuickClean; AVG PC TuneUp; Norton Registry Cleaner; PCTools Optimiser; SpeedUpMyPC; PC Doctor;
    TuneUp Utilities; WinMaximizer; WinSweeper; Comodo System Cleaner; Advanced System Optimizer; CCleaner
    Registry Cleaner)?
    6. Have you ever had occasion to do a clean install of WinXP for any reason?

    7. Assuming you canstart WinXP in Safe Mode[1], open
    Add/Remove Programs make sure the Show Updates box at the top is checked (and leave it checked); then select the
    Name option in the Sort by box on the right. Now scroll down tell me if ALL of the following updates are listed?

    help me please

    DB:2.74:Computer Wont Start, Ican Run In Safe Mode, Startup Repair Wont Fix It Does The Windows 7 Repair Disk Run The Same Repair Options f3

    Hi,

    I see that you are facing issues booting the computer to normal startup.

    I will help you with this.

    Before we begin with the troubleshooting steps please answer the below questions:

    When you say repair disc are you referring to the recovery disc?
    What is the make and model of the computer? Are you able to boot to Windows Recovery Environment? What exactly happens when you boot the computer? Do you get any error message or error code?Do you have the Windows 7installation DVD? Have you made any changes to the computer prior to the issue?

    You may try these steps and check:

    Method 1:
    Step 1:
    Boot into safe mode and check if everything works fine.
    Safe mode starts Windows in a limited state, where only the bare essentials are started. If a problem doesn't reappear when you start in safe mode, you can eliminate the default settings and basic device drivers and services
    as possible causes.
    Advanced startup options (including safe mode)
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode

    Step2:
    If safe mode works fine next step is to perform a clean boot to
    A clean boot helps to verify if any third party application services or startup item is causing this issue.
    You may refer the following KB article to set the computer in clean boot:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
    Note: After the trouble shooting steps, refer to Step 3 from the clean boot link to set the computer back to normal start up mode.

    Method 2:
    If you can boot Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) then perform a startup repair from (WinRE) and check.
    To do so follow these steps:

    a) Insert the Windows 7 installation disc into the disc drive, and then start the computer.

    b) Press a key when the message indicating "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD" appears.

    c) Select a language, a time and currency, and a keyboard or input method, and then click
    Next.

    d) Click Repair your computer.
    e) In the System Recovery Options dialog box,
    choose the drive of your Windows installation and click
    Next.

    f) At the System Recovery Options Dialog Box,
    click on Repair your computer.

    g) Click the operating system that you want to
    repair, and then
    click Next.

    h) In the System Recovery Options dialog box, click
    Startup Repair.

    Refer the following link for more information:

    To know more about “Startup Repair” refer the following link:

    My Toshiba laptop was suddenlyperforming very slowly, so I restarted in Safe Mode to see if I could fix the problem. I decided to do a System Restore and left it running overnight. In the morning, Icould not start Windows at all. At one point I was able
    to begin Startup Repair (after holding down f8 during startup), but it never finished - just froze up. Now I can't pull up any startup options, pressing f8 or not. The screen is usually blank, unlessI start Setup Utility or Boot Manager, which don't seem
    to be helpful because there's nothing wrong with my startup settings. Sometimesthe screensays "Starting Windows" but never goes anywhere. I don't have a repair disc since startup repair is supposed to be built in, and I don't have another computer in the
    house runningWindows 7 from which I can create a repair disc. I guess I could ask a friend or even go buy a disc, but should I even bother?
    Is this even a Windows problem or is my machine complete junk? It's only 2 years old. What should I do now?

    I restarted and the same options came up.
    I clicked start normally.
    It said "Windows starting" and then it would restart.

    Is there anything I can do?

    DB:2.61:Computer Wont Start After Uninstalling Comodo Timemachine. Startup Repair Is Unsuccessful. zf

    Hello derik123derik12,
    Now your system is up, I suggest you try a System Restore point to before you uninstalled Comodo TimeMachine.
    To choose a System Restore point,
    · From the Desktop click the Pearl (start) button
    · In the Search Field type “System Restore” and hit enter
    · Once System Restore is open, select the option “choose a different restore point” and hit next
    Once on the next screen, pick a restore point to go back to when it last worked for you. Once you select the restore point, click next, then select finish, this will start the restore process.

    Then check and see if this helps to resolve your issue of not being able to start your computer.
    Check with Comodo to see if they have a recommended uninstallation of their product.

    Thanks,

    After deleting references to qmail, I was able to install Plesk. It even told me apache started ok.

    But when I tried to access the site, i get nothing.

    I opened up a terminal window, navigated to the apache/bin directory, and tried to run apache using ./apachectl startfpssl

    And it gives me an error complaining about no being find some perl file (script.pm or something) and refuses to start.

    DB:2.57:Vista Wont Boot After Power Outage fc

    After a power outage, my computer doesn't boot. I tried the start up repair option without success. I also tried rebooting, but that didn't work either. What do I do??

    Also, I have pictures and documents which I haven't saved to disk...are they automatically backed up?

    DB:2.57:Vista Wont Boot After Power Outage fc

    Data is not automatically backed up.
    What is on your Hard Drive, is on your Hard Drive.
    Information is below on how to save your Data.

    Power Outages can cause a lot of Hardware failures: Power Supply, Motherboard..

    Try making a Bootable Repair Disk, and try and access your Computer.
    If you can not access it, try reinstalling, if you have theRecovery Disk/s.
    Or, contact the Computer Manufacturer on how to access the Recovery Partition.
    If it will not boot and load from a CD or DVD, the problem is more deep-seated than a Software problem.

    As is the case with most computer/laptops these days, they do not come with the proper Vista Disk to do Repairs with; only Recovery Disks.

    As yours falls into the above category: Download the ISO file at the supplied link, and make a Bootable Repair Disk from it.

    Go into your Bios/Setup, or Boot Menu, at startup, and change the Boot Order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the Boot Order, then reboot with the disk in the Drive.

    At startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, to go into Bios/Setup, or F12 for the Boot Menu.

    When you have changed that, insert that Bootable Disk you have made in the Drive, and reboot.

    You can do a Startup Repair, System Restore, etc with it.

    Read all info at the website about creating and using it.

    http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/

    ISO Burner: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html

    It makes a very good Repair Vista disk.

    You can do a Startup Repair, System Restore, etc from it.

    It is not a reinstall disk.

    And the 32bit is what comes normally on a computer, unless 64bits requested.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Data Recovery:
    1. Slave your Hard Drive in another computer, and read/save your Data from there.
    2. Put your Hard drive in a USB Hard Drive Enclosure, plug into another computer, and read/save from there.
    3. Or, use Knoppix Live CD to recover your Data:
    http://www.knopper.net/knoppix/index-en.html
    Download/Save the above Knoppix Live CD ISO file.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm

    Download the Vista Burning software from the above link.

    After installing above ISO burning software, right-click on Knoppix ISO file Copy Image to CD.

    Knoppix does not install on your PC; just uses your PC's resources, RAM, Graphics, etc.

    Change the Boot Order in YOUR computer/laptop to make the CD/DVD Drive 1 in the Boot Order.

    Plug in a Flash Drive/Memory Stick, BOOT with the Live CD, and you should be able to read your Hard Drive.

    When the desktop loads, you will see at least two hard drive icons on the desktop (one for your hard drive and one for the USB drive).

    Click on the hard drive icons to open them up and figure out which drive is which.

    Right-click the USB drive icon and choose "Actions Change read/write mode" so you can write to the drive (it's read-only by default for security reasons).

    Now find the files you want to back up and drag and drop them to the USB drive. When you are finished, shut down the system and remove the USB drive.

    Cheers.

    I was using my laptop, then I had to restart it because I uninstalled a program I recently installed [meaning the laptop works fine even without it], then after restarting, I gott a blue screen error which says "critical_process_died" in the end, and Automatic
    repair couldn't repair my laptop [Lenovo]. The only 2 options are "shut down" and "advanced options." The Windows 8 came together with the laptop [it's pre-installed] so I do not have any CD.

    DB:2.55:Critical_Process_Died Lenovo. Windows8 Wont Start, Automatic Repair Doesnt Work x1

    Hi,
    Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

    It’s unfortunate that you are unable to start your computer, receiving a blue screen error which says "critical_process_died".
    I can imagine the inconvenience you have experienced.

    Let’s follow these methods and check if it fixes the issue.

    Method 1: Let’s perform CHKDSK from Windows 8 Recovery Environment.
    a. From the System Recovery Options, select Troubleshoot, select Advanced Options, select Command prompt.

    b. Type the following command, type “chkdsk /r” (without quotation marks).

    After it finishes, restart the computer and check if it starts.

    Method 2: Run Windows Defender Offline Tool by creating a bootable media on a different computer.

    You may refer to this link: What is Windows Defender Offline?

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-IN/windows/what-is-windows-defender-offline

    Method 3: Let’s try to perform system restore using command prompt.
    From the System Recovery Options, select Troubleshoot, select Advanced Options, and select System Restore.

    If the above fails, try to perform system restore using command prompt.

    a. In the same window, click on Command prompt type
    ‘rstrui.exe’ and click on OK
    b. Click on next in the System Restore windows
    c. Now choose the restore point of your choice, and try to restore your computer back to earlier state.

    System Restore disclaimer: When you use System Restore to restore the computer to a previous state, programs and updates that you installed are removed.

    If the issue still persists, I would suggest you to contact Lenovo support to restore the operating system from the recovery partition.

    http://forums.lenovo.com/

    Hope this will be helpful. If you still have further queries, please reply us and we will be happy to help you.

    OK, assuming that chkdsk has finished, try to reboot the computer into Windows, what happens? What, if any, error messages do you get? Write them down carefully. If it won't boot into full Windows, then try to boot into Safe Mode, what happens? Again, write down any error messages that you get.

    Let us know what happens. Good luck.

    DB:2.53:Apache Wont Restart cd

    Try running apachectl configtest which will show any configuration errors.

    Whats likely is that after removing the vhost.conf file, you didnt run /usr/local/psa/admin/bin/my_apci_rst to update the configuration chain, and Apache wont start because its missing the vhost.conf file it thinks it needs.

    Anytime you add, or remove, a vhost.conf file, you must run /usr/local/psa/admin/bin/my_apci_rst to update the configuration.

    Hi, Josephbenipayo,

    Because the thread you replied to has been inactive for a long period of time, you would not have received a reply. Splitting the thread and creating one for you.

    Unplug all peripheral devices from the system - printer, microphone, speakers, etc...

    Change restart settings in safe mode. If your computer is stuck in a loop where Windows fails, attempts to restart, and then fails again repeatedly, restart your computer in safe mode and select the
    Disable automatic restart on system failure checkbox.
    Reboot and begin tapping F8 key to enter Safe Mode
    For more information, see
    Advanced startup options (including safe mode).

    Reinstall. If no other options have solved the problem, and you are sure that your computer's hardware is functioning normally, you might need to reinstall Windows. A
    custom (clean) installation of Windows will permanently delete all of the files on your computer and reinstall Windows, so only use this option if all other recovery options have been unsuccessful. After the installation, you will need to reinstall
    your programs and restore your files from backup copies. For more information, see

    Installing and reinstalling Windows‌‌.

    DB:2.51:Apache Version In 8.4? jz

    Hi -

    I still have this problem with mod_jk.so . After the 8.4 update which seems to have gone ok, apache wont start because

    Syntax error on line 209 of /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf: Syntax error on line 1 of /etc/httpd/conf.d/jk.conf: API module structure jk_module in file /usr/lib/httpd/modules/mod_jk.so is garbled - expected signature 41503232 but saw 41503230 - perhaps this is not an Apache module DSO, or was compiled for a different Apache version?

    It is possible that I updated apache through another respository - which could of course be source of the problem. The Plesk updater said my apache install was up-to-date.

    httpd -v outputs:

    Server version: Apache/2.2.8 (Unix)
    Server built: Jan 22 2008 14:30:01

    How can I find out if this is apache distributed with Plesk?

    Thanks,
    Juergen

    I have a Windows 7 machine and it is stuck in a startup repair loop after replacing the motherboard and the hard drive and reinstalling windows. It appears that using Windows Update has triggered this problem. I am attempting to follow the instructions
    in Article ID 927525 to diagnose this problem. I am at the stage of disabling devices and drivers.

    DB:2.51:Windows 7 Wont Start - Startup Repair Fails f8

    Hi,
    1. Are you able to boot in
    Safe mode?
    2. Did you try performing
    system restore from
    system recovery options?

    I would suggest you to try the steps provided below and check if it helps.

    Method 1: Check if the issue is caused by some of the hardware malfunctioning on your computer. I suggest that you disconnect all the External devices connected to your computer, except the mouse and keyboard and check if you can
    able to boot.

    Method 2: Check the link given below which talks about the rebuilding of the Boot files run the rebuild BCD command and check if that helps.
    How to use the Bootrec.exe tool in the Windows Recovery Environment to troubleshoot and repair startup issues in Windows
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927392

    Sure, nothing major. Basically, a day prior to the problem I had added the feature to be able to Preview domains before DNS Propagation. Theres a thread here about it. For some reason, when I added a new domain, it killed Apache.

    So with my troubleshooting I started back tracking to see what had changed on the system. I deleted the domain and right away Apache restarted. So I deleted the DNS entry I had added in my domain *.s1.viocon.com and also renamed the conf file under /home/httpd/vhosts/.skel/0/conf and everything is still fine. Im not sure why this caused Aapache to not start and I havent looked into it yet. I just want to keep the server up and running at this point. The first minimal outage for that server since it went up.

    Windows 7 would not boot. It kept giving me the startup repair or start normally options. Neither helped. Tried safe mode, which hung after listing a few files. Tried the repair disk I created on first booting up the laptop (Samsung didn't supply any windows

    DB:2.50:Sql 2008 Express R2 Installation Failed, Wont Uninstall js

    We have a machine where the installation for the components Database Engine Services, SQL Server Replication, and Management Tools failed. SQL Browser and SQL Writer on the other hand were installed successfully. Then we thought of re-doing the whole installation
    process after uninstalling things. In the list of installed Programs and Features, there were entries for the SQL Browser and SQL Writer as expected. There's also a third entry which is for SQL Server 2008 R2 Setup and we picked it to be uninstalled first.
    However it popped a message that it cannot be uninstalled because SQL Server 2008 R2 Database Engine Shared, R2 Common Files, Management Studio, etc. are installed. We then decided to do a repair on it but at the end it also reported a failed repair
    for the Database Engine, Server Replication and Management Tools. So now we're left with no way to repair them and no way to uninstall them. Any idea how this can be resolved? Summary/Install Log is given below...

    Ive got a new 2.0 standard install. Every time a user makes a change in their control panel, Apache stops and fails to restart. The only way I can get it going again is by launching httpd with the ./httpd command from /usr/local/psa/apache/bin. The normal start|restart|stop commands wont work from psa/rc.d. When executed this way, I get the error [warn] NameVirtualHost my ip:443 has no VirtualHosts. If I comment out this line from httpd.include, a -HUP restarts it just fine over and over. The problem is, when httpd.include is rewritten after a change made in the control panel, down I go again. What am I doing wrong? Method 1: Try to boot “Last Known Good Configuration”.
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Using-Last-Known-Good-Configuration

    Method 2: Check if the issue is caused by some of the hardware malfunctioning on your computer. I suggest that you disconnect all the External devices connected to your computer, except
    the mouse and the keyboard and check if you have the same issue in Safe mode.
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

    Method 3:If
    the issue does not exist in Safe Mode then try to set your computer in
    Clean Boot state.
    By setting your system in clean boot state helps in identifying if any third party applications or startup items are causing the issue.

    Was the issue preceded by a power interruption, aborted restart, or improper shutdown? (this includes plug pulling, power buttons, removing the battery, etc.)

    Does the afflicted system have a working CD/DVD drive (internal or external)?

    Do you have a genuine bootable XP installation CD (this is not the same as any Recovery CDs that came with your system)?

    What do you see that you don't think you should be seeing and when do you see it?

    In the case that If there is two group running together at the same timeframe (eg: both backup start at 8PM), and the first group backup completed at 9PM, will the bootstrap backup kick start for the first group? or it will wait until the second group completed (9:15PM), and the bootstrap will perform the backup at one shot.

    How does this algorithm work?

    What is the full command that I can verify the bootstrap backup status?

    Best Regards,

    CS

    DB:2.47:Queries About Networker Bootstrap pf

    Hello Chin,

    Here i will give you a example, it might help you understand better.

    Lets consider NetWorker server name is "abc" (which has only one instance) and placed under group "xyz".

    Scenario 1:

    If this client instance for abc is placed under group xyz, which scheduled to start automatically every day(sheduled to run), then the bootstrap backup will happen only after xyz group completes. No bootstrap backup happens for other groups.

    Scenario2:

    If the abc is placed under group xyz, which is not scheduled (or set to skip) to start automatically every day. Then after every group completes bootstrap gets backed up.

    Considering your scenario,

    1. Client A (first group) scheduled backup completed.

    2. Networker will perform the Bootstrap backup.

    3. Client B (second group) scheduled backup completed.

    4. Networker will perform the Bootstrap backup

    This holds good, if the netwoker sever is not placed in scheduled group.

    Regards,

    Prajith

    Hi,

    I am assuming that in your IfModule is having the issue.... can you past your IfModule in here.... Also check if you have given "MatchExpression /*" in it hence your if module would look something like this

    For Single server

    IfModule mod_weblogic.c
    WebLogicHost 127.0.0.1
    WebLogicport 7001
    MatchExpression /*
    /IfModule

    OR

    For cluster

    open a console connection and run the command

    Open another console

    The first window will tell you what is going wrong.

    I believe I understand your issue is your computer will not load to the main screen where you see your icons, is that correct? I will do all I can to help you correct this issue.

    First thing I would like you to do is a hard reset:

    1. Remove all connections from the front and back of the computer including the power cable.

    2. Once everything is disconnected, press and hold the power button for about 20 seconds.

    3. Once that is accomplished only hook up the keyboard, mouse, monitor and power only.

    When all that is been done turn the computer on and see that happens, please respond back with your results.

    Upon power up, screen gives 2 options: 1) Start normally, or 2) Run Startup Repair.

    When Start Normally is selected, system hangs on black screen with the Microsoft logo and scrolling green bars.

    If startup repair is selected, the repair process runs for a while, reports that there are no errors, then hangs up on the same screen as above.

    Problem first appeared after computer was improperly shut down while on a wireless network. Subsequently, the computer may have been improperly shut down again while running Startup Repair.

    DB:2.44:Windows Vista Wont Start On My Toshiba Laptop Even After Running Startup Repair. 3k

    Try a System Restorefrom using this Disk, ifyou can not do it from Safe Mode:

    Restore Point:

    Try tapping F8 at startup, and from thelist of startup selections, select Safe Mode by using UP Arrow Key to go there thenhit Enter.

    Try a System Restore once there, to pick a Restore Pointbefore your problem..

    Click Start Programs Accessories System Tools System Restore pick a different time Next etc

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    If Restore does not work and you do not have a Microsoft Vista DVD, make a Bootable Repair Disk to do a Startup Repair:
    Download the ISO file at the supplied link, and make a Bootable Repair Disk from it.
    Go into your Bios/Setup, or Boot Menu, at startup, and change the Boot Order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the Boot Order, then reboot with the disk in the Drive.
    At startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, to go into Bios/Setup, or F12 for the Boot Menu.
    When you have changed that, insert that Bootable Disk you have made in the Drive, and reboot.
    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html
    Above link shows what the process looks like, and a how-to, as it loads to the Repair Options.
    Neosmart contains the contents of the Windows Vista DVD's "recovery center," as we've come to refer to it. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and just serves as a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, one could
    re-create this installation media with freely-downloadable media from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK kit, a multi-gigabyte download); but it's decent of Microsoft to make this available to Windows' users who might not be capable of creating such a thing
    on their own.
    Read all info at the website about creating and using it.
    http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/
    ISO Burner: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html
    It makes a very good Vista Startup Repair Disk.
    You can do a Startup Repair, System Restore, etc from it.
    It is NOT a reinstall disk.
    And the 32bit is what comes normally on a computer, unless 64bits requested.
    Cheers.
    Check to see if the following helps.
    Method 1:Try selecting Disable automatic restart on system failure from the Advanced Boot menu options to know the error.
    a.Restart your computer and start pressing the F8 key on your keyboard. On a computer that is configured for booting to multiple operating systems, you can press the F8 key when the Boot Menu appears.
    b.Use the arrow keys to choose Disable automatic restart on system failure in the Windows Advanced Boot Menu Options, and then press Enter.
