    I have an access database which contain a form for user to input the records. For example i have three fields called Invoice No, Request date and Requestor name. Incase if i have only one date and name for one invoice
    then i dont have any problem. But i have multiple records for single invoice number in that case how i can add it to a table .
    If i have multiple records then how it will add it into table as different records for each date and name or do i need to create another table to input these records.
    Kindly help me to solve this issue.

    Just issue a delete statement to delete the rows. This will work no matter how many rows the table has:DELETE FROM DEPT WHERE DEPTNO = 20;Other methods are to use CTAS to copy the rows you want to keep to a new table, drop the original table and then rename the new table to the old name.Or you can create a partitioned work table and copy the rows you want to keep to it and then use EXCHANGE PARTITION to swap the work table segment back to the real table.The best/fastest method to use depends entirely on all of that info you did NOT provide: the number of rows in the table, the indexes and constraints on the tables, whether you have licensed the partitioning option, the DDL for the tables and indexes, whether you can do this offline or must do it online.

    Hi,
    I have a form (Item) with among other fields has a field called “ItemKey”.
    The form also has a command button which open a second form (continuous form) with among other things has a field called “ServiceKey”.
    The second form only retrieves records where ItemKey=ServiceKey.
    The control source for ServiceKey on the second form is “=[Forms]![Item]![ItemKey]”
    As I add new records the ServiceKey field does match the ItemKey however when I close the second form and reopen it again using the first form command button, my new records do not appear.
    If I look at the table my records are there but the ServiceKey is 0.
    What am I missing.

    I have a situation when select flag is N when I beleive it should be set to Y.
    My scenario is this.
    I have a master table A and detail table B with mutliple selection attribute.
    Table A has single selection attribute, when it is engaged records in B show up through PPR. Table A also has a switcher icon.

    I select record in A.
    I select records in B using it's multiple selection column.
    Then I click on a switcher icon in table A record which was selected.
    That takes me to another page.
    I print out select flag of those detail records of table B, their select flag comes up as N. I thought it should be Y since those records were selected.

    What am I missing?

    I have a child table that houses zero to x records for each parent. I need these records to display in one field on a report and I can't find anything on how to do this.

    I created a very large text field in the parent table, and I can add values to the field easy enough in the application (using replace), but the trick is when a user hits my delete button on that child record, how to get that specific text string (of unknown length and location) from the parent table's large text field.

    I've tried approaching this from a variety of ways and I'm struggling.

    Any thoughts on how to approach this?

    For the record, I AM storing all these values in a child table. I understand normalized databases just fine.

    Then I must be misunderstanding your table structure. From the description, it sounded as if the tables were not normalized (which happens a lot). But if in reality they are - then you should be in good shape. Anyway, I am glad you got everything working now.

    I am looking for your help again. I've run into a strange problem. When I am on an active call on my Cisco 7960 phone I can't receive another call. Another caller is getting a busy tone or is forwarded to a voicemail (acording to my configuration).

    When resumes are sent to employers, staff update List1 Resumes Sent. I want a workflow to identify each of the new applicants selected and to update each Applicant's
    Employers Receiving Resume column in List2 - it should save the existing text in the field and add to it the new Employer's name and today's date. (Thus keeping staff from having to manually update both lists).
    When an Applicant is hired to an employer, staff update List2 Hired To. I want a workflow to then find that
    UniqueID on List1 and update the Applicants Hired for Employer field - it should save the existing Applicants selected and add the new Applicant to the list. (Thus keeping staff from having to manually update both lists).
    Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have done many searches online and can't find a solution.I'm attempting to use designer to set up the workflows.

    There are two possible ways to achieve this.

    First one, as Dan mentions, is by using the Arithmetic operator. To elaborate on this further, lets pick an example. Lets say we want an email alert created if the free capacity on any of our VMs FileSystem goes below 20%. To achieve something like this, the following alert definition can be put together:

    Referring to the above alert definition:
    The first filtered entry will bring in the FreeCapacity metric:

    The second one, very similar to the first one, will bring in the Capacity metric:

    Next is where you would use the Arithmetic operation to do the math required, pay special attention to the highlighted sections:

    And then you have the Comparator to check the output of this arithmetic operation against the expected threshold value resulting into an email

    Hi,

    Without knowing more about your tables, it's difficult to say exactly what the problem could be. Two things, though:

    1 - How is the P3_OUTAGE_ID begin populated? Can you make the field visible and double check that it is actually receiving a value.
    2 - Your insert statement does not insert the OUTAGE_ID value. Presumably it should as your update statement implies that updates are based on this value being present on the table.

    I have done similar things to this - ie, having a hidden field that contains an ID that I want to appear on any new records. This method works fine.

    Additionally, as you are updating TWO tables, you should consider creating a SQL view and use an INSTEAD OF trigger to update the tables instead. It could be that the form is being based on the other table, which may not contain the OUTAGE_ID field itself - in which case, you can only really update this using a trigger on a view.

    In fact there are technical AND security reasons. If you develop SaaS Software, not every customer has the same requirements in ressources. Some of them grow fast, some not. So if one of your costumer needs his own server, you can just place the database onto better hardware.
    The second case is: if your contract will end, you have to hand over all of your customers data. Its much more easier to just make a dump of your database then seperating all of the needed from the not needed data by hand...
    Or for example one of your customers want to use its own hardware at his office, how do you move his data to the new location when its mixed up with the data of your other customers.
    Its just much more scalable then putting all the data in one hardware...

    When I retrieve 10 fields from the xml field like

    Okay, I don't think a Document ID field is going to help you. What you're going to need is a combination of custom fields and client scripts to populate those fields as needed.

    the article describes how to add for example marketingcampagnes and scores to a lead. However, let me describe my problem/situation in more detail:

    We send newsletters/mailings each month.
    A lead has reacted on the newsletter of December 2011 and hereacts with an inquiry.We make an offer for the lead, but after seeing this offer the lead doesn't want to make use of it and thus stays in our system as a lead. However, we send a new newsletter
    in January 2012, and this lead we made an offer for in December 2011, again reacts on the newsletter (the one of January 2012). We again make him an offer and this time he places an order and thus we want to move him to accounts.

    The problem occurs here.....we already had theDecember newsletter in the field "initiated by" and thus we can track the results from that newsletter. However when we want to keep track of this newsletter AND want to keep track of the results ofthenewsletter
    in January, this isn't possible, because when we add the newsletter of January to the "initiated by" field, the one from december is being removed.

    Maybe I'm overseeing something, but I really wouldn't know what......I hope you or someone else can help me in this matter.

    a costumer has internal multiple SIP Domains. I was now wondering how I would like to deploy the EDGE Server role.
    Do I need multiple Edge Servers?
    I can do DNS Records (SRV) for all Domains to the same A Record ? Or can I do this with SANs on one certificate? Or do I need mutliple Edge Servers ?

    You do not need multiple Edge server.  Multiple SIP domains should be listed in the certificate SAN field and you'll want to deploy SRV records for each SIP domain, as the Automatic Configuration performs lookups based on the domain of the user attempting to login to Office Communicator.  So each potential login domain needs to have a set of SRV records which all point to the same DNS A record, which should match the external FQDN of the Access Edge role.

    In search field i add a field of User Id LOV and attached the vo. UseridLOV :

    Issue is : IN LOV region of User Id when i click go it shows all records . But if i search a value with A% it shows no records eventhough it is having records starts with A.

    Why is it happening...Anybody help me.

    I have tested my lov it is working fine .Sometimes LOV doesn't work ,can you please remove and recreate lOV and add to your userid field

    I'm a newbie to Apex (4.0). I have a tabular form displaying 500 rows records in multiple pages. The row selector is selected by defaulted ie. all rows have been checked. Upon unselecting items in multiple page, the Multi Row Delete (Post Processing Request) only deletes the records selected on the page. It seems like the ROW SELECTOR does not keep track of the checkboxes on other pages. Any thoughts on how to solve this would be helpful.

    Tabular form that displays 500 records each in multiple pages. The Row Selector column is selected by default. The user will uncheck certain rows in certain pages. I would like to perform a Multi Row Delete for alll the records that were selected.

    Hello: I have a table that I need to add phone numbers to from another table.  The tables can be joined together based on a common ID.  Once joined, I would like to get the records from the populated phone number field into the unpopulated phone number field in the other table. My assumption is to use the insert into statement.  I haven't been able to figure out how to get the records over once joined.  Maybe joining isn't the first step by the values need to be brought over based on the ID fields matching.

    I have a fairly simple SSRS report with 10 fields that returns about 100 records. In this report, there are some records that have the same value in a PartNumber field. I need to count the number of duplicates records (based on that PartNumber
    field only) and display a count number. For example if there are 3 instances of PartNumber ABC, there should be a 3 in a separate column on each of these records.
    I found
    this post, which got me looking into functions like CountDistinct and Count. These work as advertised, but they don't do exactly what I need. For example, when I used the CountDistinct function with my datasource as a scope, it returned 73
    because there are 73 distinct records, based on the PartNumber field only.
    The SQL query that drives this datasource is pretty complicated, and it is going to be extremely difficult to add a field in that handles this. Therefore, I was hoping to do this in the report somehow.

    I would greatly appreciate any suggestions. Thank you!

    I am encountering a problem where I'm working with Master-Detail relationship and I have 2 different detail datablocks in a form. Each datablock contains multiple records and the data in each datablock(table) is independent of the other. (But there is a one to one relationship for the detail blocks). My problem is when I navigate from blockA to blockB I alway navigate to the first row in blockB. Although blockA has mutliple records I am only able to navigate to the first row in blockB and if I commit the record I overwrite the existing record in blockB.

    You have already given the 1-1 relationship bet master - BolckB. So you should see only ther related detail record to the master record.
    There is nothing related information betwwen A B.

    I have a shuttle item :P1_Refno in my report region. I would like to know how when multiple items are selected to get my query to filter on those items. My current query simply says:

    This will filter if only 1 selection is made but more than 1 it retuns nothing. Any help is much appreciated!

    A.D.'s post linking you to the (incredibly valuable) Roger's Access Library should get you going; but for just a quick and dirty solution you could create a new table by copying and pasting the existing one, design view only. Open the new empty table and
    add an Autonumber field. You can then run an Append query appending the existing table into the new one, and the autonumber will do its thing for you.
    Or, if you just want the numbers in an Access Report (to be printed or emailed or exported), you don't need to change tables at all; you could just put a textbox on the Report in design view. Set its Control Source to =1 (just the number one), and its Running
    Sum property to Over All.

    Scenario:
    I have a form with several fields that is used to add new stock records.
    The Record Source for the form is a table named Stock that contains among other fields a field with a Control Source of InventoryID.

    There is also a separate unbound “InventoryDesc” ComboBox on the form, which is associated to an IDField by using “Nz[InventoryDesc]”.

    Once the desired combo field is selected, I want the contents of the IDField (Field A) to display in the InventoryID field (Field B).

    Currently, I can accomplish this by inserting =[IDField] in Field B, but by doing so it also changes the Control Source which for updating purposes needs to remain as InventoryID.

    You would need to aggregate multiple MSIs into a single one. You can do so via writing your own setup.exe bootstrapper. If you check out major authoring tools on the market, they provide a bootstrapper which does what you want.

    The suggestion provided by Kame requires the user to enter the DOC value. In your case, you want the report to be printed depending on the record selected by user(which happens at runtime).

    In order to achieve, you need to write a pre-query trigger and assign the value of the empno to a global variable and then pass this global variable as empno parameter when the button to run the report is clicked.

    On it, I have a portal based on join_contacts_activities called "meetings" which is a Cartesian join, so that all meetings are shown.

    I also have Globals::gMyDeskEmployeeFilterID_MatchField as the match field to filter the portal

    I need to show all meetings as an option, so that employees can see other employee's obligations.

    I created as a dropdown list a subset of Persons to show only people who are employees using a global match

    I'm using filter: JOIN_Activities_Person_Cartesian::PersonID_fk = Globals::gMyDeskEmployeeFilterID_MatchField

    Is there a trick or gotchase to filtering a portal by mutliple field values separated by returns (using a checkbox set) in a global?

    Is there a CONTAINS match?

    Where I am having touble is that I can fiilter by ONE personID in the portal just fine...hand typed in a numeric field.

    But, if I try ti us the value list completed global to enter single or multiple key matches in a global, NOTHING shows at all in the portal.

    Also, even though the global seems to hold the correct return delimited PersonID's, the field DOES appear to combine the selected items into scientific notation (until I click on it) rather than separated values when I get more than a couple of user id's.

    Hi i am experiencing the following error

    FRM-40831: Truncation occurred: value too long for field ROWID.

    I have google this error and suggest me changing the key mode as well as changing each field to match the indexed coloumns.. This does nt work as my oracle form is based on mutliple tables and i dont understand why this is causing the error.

    Previously the oracle form could create records if records already existed in the db. I have change this so that i there are no records this allows the user to create new records which sounds simple enough but i keep on getting the above error.

    Any ideas why this is happening and what i could do to solve the issue apart from setting the key mode etc .

    I have an issue with a custom tool that has been developed, which is combined with poor data management on behalf of our Master Data team.

    When creating Info Records, they only use a plant code when the material is used in mutliple plants, otherwise they leave it blank (a practice I am looking to correct, it's just laziness)

    The problem I have is when trying to report on info records, I want to include both blank AND populated records.

    - Using * or ? only extracts records that have some kind of data

    - Leaving either the lower or upper limit blank either produces only blank results, only populated results, or no results at all

    What would be the syntax to search for all records, blank or not blank?

    Behind Plant press the multiple selection button. On the first line fill in "=" by using F2. Press the space bar in the content. On the second line fill in "*" or a specific Plant.

    By executing this you will get all records with no plant and the specific plant.

    Does anyone have any thoughts on how to find the unchanged records. Using the field keys is not useful because I still have to add the changes

    If field1 and field2 has each 146 records, the new field, ProjectName is inserted on record 147 in ProjectName filed and leaves 146 records blank and starts from 147.

    I've seen this from time to time, most typically when I plug my laptop onto a client network where a firewall is in use. I don't whether this will help you but what I do which usually makes it work is to reboot the PC.

    I think its something to do with network connectivity. Do you have a firewall in use in your office? Other than the reboot, which is a temporary fix, you might want to check out the interconnectivity between the circuit that you are on and the circuit that the database server is on.

    Can anyone else shed any light on this?

    I am trying to come up with a way to sum a field in a record set based on the following:

    f_Date f_Time f_number

    1/1/2013 01:00 100

    1/1/2013 02:00 125

    1/1/2013 03:00 75

    What I would like to do is to add the numbers in the f_number field based on the f_Time field. If the f_Time field is between 01:00 and 12:00 add the numbers in f_number field. If the f_Time field is between 01:00 and 17:00 add the numbers in the f_field then if the f_Time field is between 01:00 and 24:00 add the numbers in the f_field.

    The records in the f_Time field are from 01:00 to 24:00 as in 24 hours in a day.

    The date is duplicated in each record to facilitate someone exporting to Excel and be able to manulipate data better. I have set it up as a flat database but I am certianly open to setting it up differently.

    Any help anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated as I seemed to be stumped.

    In GCIN, make sure you enter the fields in Object Table 1,Totals Table, Actual Line Item Table, Plan Line Item Table and reactivate the tables through SE11.

    The issue however is, you would have to delete all the existing transactional / records with transaction code GCDE in all the tables and re-copy them once you're done. That's the only way you can have existing records in the new field(s).

    i am having in my database 'YEAR' field in that it contains data records of 2009,2010,2011 and may also add extra in future i.e; 2012, 2013. But i required only current year should be displayed from 'YEAR' field in ListBox.

    How can i work on it, please can anybody provide a solution to this.

    Hi Frank,
    What i did is , i bind the af:SelectOne rather than af:SelectItem, and was able to read all the labels in the dropdown, but the main problem is regardless of what value i select in the drop down it returns me the label of the 1st non null value of the drop down.Even i tried ti use getSubmittedValue() method without any luck ,do i have fire any trigger or something like that.

    I have an requiremnt

    1) To display the records in ALV grid( NOT OO ABAP).

    2) Need to select multiple records(need to avoid using control if possible while selecting multiple records)

    3) Need to add 2 buttons 1) EDIT 2) REPROCESS

    3) After selecting the multiple records, I need to select a column (only one) .

    4) then the user will click the EDIT button : Once clicked a POP UP needs to appear with field name and blank space ,when data is entered into blank space

    all the selected records will be updated.

    5) THen on clcikng REPROCESS all the selected records needs to do certain reprocessing and updated/changed values needs to be updated in the GRID.

    Let me know ..How to proceed ?

    Is there any standard program which has the similar functionalty ?

In this case, 'myfield' is a reference field, so I'm trying to return records where the reference field is empty. But no results are being returned, although I know there are records where the reference field is empty. Am I using the method incorrectly? How would I add a query condition to return records where a reference field is empty?

    I've got two files that I'm loading into QV. File A has a unique key (no duplicates), the other, File B, has duplicate records for each key. File A may have a match to one or many records on File B, or there may be no match. I want to add a field to File A to say whether there is a matching record/s in File B. I'm not interested in how many records are on B for a particular key, just whether there are any matching records or not.

    If I understand you, you can to use RIGHT KEEP statement for loading data, like as:

    Table_A:

    LOAD KeyField, .... FROM....

    Table_B:

    RIGHT KEEP(Table_A)

    LOAD KeyField, .... FROM....

    after loading this script you will get two tables:Table_B - all lines table B (as in source data)Table_A - only lines, which are exists in Table_B (by KeyField)

    I developed a .qvw file with QlikView Desktop release 11.2. You can see the document in attach.There are two tables:FATTI with 69 records (66 distinct records)PREVISIONI with 37635 records (10942 distinct records).
    KEY field associates tables.
    Values in FATTI.KEY and in PREVISIONI.KEY have not intersection.

    I add a table box "FATTI e PREVISIONI" with all table fields.

    I thought that the "FATTI e PREVISIONI" had 11008 record: 66 distinct records by FATTI and 10942 distinct records by PREVISIONI. Instead, the table shows 10942 distinct records, those in the table PREVISIONI.

    The problem is in the visualization of the table and in the export on excel: e.g. if you select a single value for VAL, your table is updated and shows the row (which is "hidden" without selections). Very strange!

    I am trying to make a query that gets items where a lookup field contains a value.

    DocumentCodeLookup is a mutliple select lookup field, code is passed as a parameter to the function. I thought I could use .contains but that only will accept a DocumentCode type.

    EDIT: Just noticed that if I only do the first query I get what I want.

    Here is the code that I am using now that seems to solve the issue but seems inefficient.

    The reason for the query to HandbookCodes is because it contains information that I need. Not sure if doing a join here would make this more efficient but I believe I have read somewhere that joins don't work well with LINQ to SharePoint, but at the
    same time the ToList() call worries me.

    This library will only contain 50 or so documents and will not be accessed very often.

    Hi,

    The duplicate check for contacts will only be done when you import contacts. So if you are going to import contacts you could use the external id. If contacts are going to be registered in CRM there will not be a duplicate check. The reason Oracle gives for this is that contacts can be marked as private, meaning they will only be visible to the owner. If there was a duplicate check you could never create the same contact as public (visible to all).

    I believe there are certain partners that offer a duplicate check program, it might be worth looking into that.

    Thanks for that. I have now arrived at a solution. I was attempting to build the characters text and format it at the same time (ie. each new part of the text was to be added then formatted). I simply could not persuade this to work, despite trying every
    combination of .begin and .end characters properties I could think of.
