    please help
    thanks....

    i have included the directory path in the
    classpath....
    still its not compiling .....
    please help
    thanks.... For example, if you have c:\myjava\packone\Text.classthen you need to have c:\myjava in the Classpath, NOT c:\myjava\packone.

    Oh, and make sure you have a Test.class file. It looks like you do not have any code in Test. I think javac will not produce a class file if there isn't anything to compile.

    Assume the current directory structure:
    C:\
    C:\packone...and that your classes are named Test GetTest.

    My guess is that you're compiling within the directory C:\packone using the command "javac GetTest.java", which is wrong; You must use a path corresponding to the package-name.

    Move your command-line cursor to C:\ and type "javac packone\GetTest.java" and you'll be fine...

    Hi --

    All official certification documentation is available on the http://metalink.oracle.com Support website.

    10.1.2 is not certified with JDK5
    10.1.3 is certified with JDK5.

    While it may appear to work on 10.1.2, we've not tested it so there's no guarantee of coverage across the container.

    We did have to some changes in 10.1.3 to work with JDK5 to do things like avoid some of the new reserved names that have been introduced.

    Cross posting is not really a problem in itself since the problem could be related to multiple forums; but it can be frustrating to try and help someone out and find out later that they had already got a solution on their other thread. Or worse, the OP doesn't ever reply because a solution was given on the other thread and the OP simply disappears.

    If you feel the need to post the same query to different forums, I suggest you post the complete problem in the most relevant one and then give a quick gist and a link to that thread in the other forums. That way, you'll reach the audience of all the forums but you'd also be letting them know the actual thread where the problem is being discussed.

    You can't use annotations - or at least not the kind you find in Java SE 1.5 and up.

    Check this link

    Essentially the BlackBerry supports the mobile version - Java ME - and up until recently at least that meant the equivalent of JRE 1.3

    What do these errors mean? Do I have my files in the wrong directories or something like that? What can be done to resolve such errors?

    Please help?

    Thanks.

    DB:3.32:Jbuilder Question kp

    Yes, basically, it does.

    May I suggest you start over:

    Copy the source files you want into another directory. Structure it something like this:
    ProjectName
    |
    +- java
    |
    +- classes
    |
    +- docSet the project Name to ProjectName, and allow JBuilder to adopt the directory of the same name. Set the output path the classes directory, and check that the source directory matches the structure given above.

    It isn't a requirement to set things up this way, but it saves getting in a tangle by having a strange setup, and besides, this works for other IDEs too.

    A note about packages.
    You should recreate the package structure under the 'java' directory. So if your source files were in package com.someone.foo, then you'd have a structure like:
    ProjectName
    |
    +- java
    |
    +- com
    |
    +- someone
    |
    +- fooJBuilder will duplicate this structure in the classes directory.

    There's no reason to include the source code in the deployed application. Only compiled class files go in /WEB-INF/classes. Any JAR files your application uses should go in /WEB-INF/lib. You should not be putting anything in the JDK directory.

    It sounds like \bin doesn't exist, which is just as well since it would be dumb to put javac in a \bin directory off the filesystem root. Something like "\jdk1.5.0_6\bin\j" might be more appropriate.

    Where did you actually install the JDK?

    DB:3.22:Cannot Reach Com.Sun.Javafx.Runtime.Sequence Package From Java 7k

    Hello!

    I'm trying to create JavaFX sequence from Java code, because creating sequences with large amount of data (more than 10000 elements) seems to be quite inefficient in JavaFX (leastwise takes almost a minute(!) when using insert ... into ...).
    The problem is that I get the following error message when trying to use SequenceBuilder from Java:

    {color:#ff0000}+Compiling 1 source file to C:\Users\Aacute;kos\Documents\NetBeansProjects2\PolylineProba\build\classes+
    C:\Users\Aacute;kos\Documents\NetBeansProjects2\PolylineProba\src\polylineproba\ArrayBuilder.java:11: package com.sun.javafx.runtime.sequence does not exist
    import com.sun.javafx.runtime.sequence.*;
    +1 error+{color}

    The sample code is very simple:
    {color:#333399}+package test;+

    import com.sun.javafx.runtime.sequence.*;

    +public class ArrayBuilder {+
    +}+{color}

    This is strange as the code completion sees all classes inside the mentioned package, but the compiler doesn't.

    Does anyone have an idea, why? (I'm using Netbeans 6.1 with JavaFX SDK preview 1.0.)

    Thanks,
    Akos

    DB:3.22:Cannot Reach Com.Sun.Javafx.Runtime.Sequence Package From Java 7k

    Hello!

    Normally you don't need to know the exact location of these files as you can add them to the project by adding a library. To do this in Netbeans: right click on the Libraries in the project tree and choose Add library. Then you should see JavaFXUserLib.

    If not then find and add them manually to the classpath:
    javafx-sdk1.0pre1/lib/Decora-D3D.jar
    javafx-sdk1.0pre1/lib/Decora-HW.jar
    javafx-sdk1.0pre1/lib/Decora-OGL.jar

    DB:3.16:Oc4j Wrapper Problem m1

    This is a BUG in OC4J. Some Times it gets confused when
    coimpling the Wrappper. It fixed it self whith out any change to
    the code!!!!!!!!!!

    Version 1.0.2.2.1 is acting flaky and it has it own set of
    problems. Some of my code that works fine under 1.0.2.2 and J2ee
    it doesn't work under the new version "1.0.2.2.1".

    - The new version has a problem with returning a serializable
    objects. Some work fine some just don't work. The funny thing is
    when it doesn't work I get a "java.lang.Exception". but when I
    comment out the try catch block, I get transaction rollback from
    a statless session bean. This bean just pull info from a
    ResultSet and puts it in an object that implements serializable
    and returns it. This session bean works ALL THE TIME UNDER
    1.0.2.2 and J2EE.

    - The ,default for entity bean, exclusive-write-access="true"
    under 1.0.2.2 is a big problem! In the same try catch block if
    you use stateless session bean to delete rows in a table, then
    use an entity to insert info in the same table, the entity still
    sees the deleted rows. This results in a duplicate key exception.

    - The default should be exclusive-write-access="false"!!!!!

    - UPGRADE AT YOUR OWN RISSSSK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Good luck

    DB:3.15:Compiling Complication. kd

    Hi JThomasJr,

    Thanks for your post in the MSDN Forum.

    As far as I know, the iostream.h header is deprecated in standard C in favor of iostream. If you want to know more about the differences between the two headers, please refer to the following link:

    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/8h8eh904(v=VS.90).aspx.

    In Visual Studio 2010, I have tries the #includeiostream.h. When I compile the project, I received the error like this: fatal error C1083: Cannot open include file: 'iostream.h': No such file or directory. While if I use #include iostream
    instead, it runs smoothly.

    If you develop and compile your C code in Visual Studio, I suggest you try #include iostream.

    I hope this reply is helpful to you.

    I had to change my code to use StringBuffer.

    I am new to Java, and having problems with running the application in the CMD window. I downloaded 1.4.2 and practiced compiling source files. They would compile fine, but when I go to run the actual application, I get the following error

    "Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: ExampleProgram"

    I know that the source code and .class file are good as I tested them on a different PC. Any ideas?

    Also, I am running Win98.

    Hi Experts,
    I'm trying to create a java program that I got from this forum in one of our databases; however, the program seems to be stuck compiling and never create and goes back to the SQL prompt . I'm not sure what it's stuck on!!

    This is the code that we're trying to create:

    pss@pssd CREATE OR REPLACE AND COMPILE JAVA SOURCE NAMED "OSCommand" AS
    import java.io.*;
    public class OSCommand{
    public static String Run(String Command){
    try{
    Runtime.getRuntime().exec(Command);
    return("0");
    }
    catch (Exception e){
    System.out.println("Error running command: " + Command + "\n" + e.getMessage());
    return(e.getMessage());
    }
    }
    }
    /We thought it might be insufficient Java grants for this particular schema, so we tried running it under SYS/SYSTEM but still to no avai and the code just hangs there.

    Alert log doesn't show anything. Any idea what to check and/or why is this happening?

    Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi,

    Setup:
    NetBeans 5.0
    J2SE 5.0
    NetBeans Mobility Pack 5.0

    I'm getting this error when compiling:

    MatArkiv.java:21: generics are not supported in -source 1.3 (try -source 1.5 to enable generics).

    In a normal Java project changing the sourcelevel is piece of cake, but in this J2ME project I'm completely stumped where to change this setting.

    Any help would be much appreciated!

    Kind regards,

    Mattis

    DB:3.13:Why Is Netbeans Compiling With A Sourcelevel Of 1.3? 8j

    I got a project where I already have DB handlers,
    controllers, facade and whatnot already in place
    which I want to use with the J2ME application.
    Well, i don't think any of that stuff will work in j2me...

    Does this mean I need one WEB project with servlets
    handling the response / requests and one J2ME project
    just for the WAP part?
    Communicating with servlets is the best way to exchange information with a j2me application. But there is no WAP involved. A j2me application can communicate directly with the servlet. No WAP browser is needed.

    Good luck!

    Why? If your planning on modifying the code, I don't believe your skills are up to it, if you can't even find your start point.

    DB:3.13:Re: Facing Problem While Compiling The Source Code Of Java mk

    hi ejp...

    Sir, i actually want to find the exact path location in the source code where exactly from which the JDK or VM is loaded.
    For example in the source code of JDK, there are some many C files and their header files and in that the exact code is written i.e from where the JVM and other things are loaded that are related to java.
    I would like to know exactly from which file it is being loaded and run.
    As there are around 4000 files , I could not find in the exact file.
    So i would like to know that file.
    Can I include some other class files from there if possible then How can i do that?

    please help in this .........

    int status = com.sun.tools.javac.Main.compile(args);

    This however results in a compilation error saying : javac: no source files

    If i specify a individual filename it compiles fine, but i am not able to compile using the wildcard character.

    To clear things out, you have a .class file and you want to compile it to a .java file?

    Do you actually understand what compiling means in Java terms? Don't you rather mean decompiling? If so, install Google at your machine. It's use is almost self-explaining. If not, then please elaborate your question [the smart way|http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html].

    Java People!

    My question is ...

    How do I compile source code (Hello.java) to an executable file (Hello) instead of compiling to byte code (Hello.class) with code that has buttons, checkbox, textfields?

    I have used gcj to do this with simple code, but it doesn't work on source code with buttons, checkboxes and textfields.

    Example:

    gcj --main=Hello -o Hello Hello.java

    This works fine and makes an executable file called "Hello".

    I just can't get it to work on source code with Buttons, CheckBoxes and TextFields.

    DB:3.11:Compiling Classes With Jdk1.5 Instead Of 1.4 jz

    When compiling this perfectly working piece of code under SJSC2EA2:

    private double eval(double t, int... p) {
    return ( p[0] * Math.pow(1-t, 3) +
    3 * p[1] * Math.pow(1-t, 2) * t +
    3 * p[2] * (1-t) * Math.pow(t, 2) +
    p[3] * Math.pow(t, 3));
    }

    I get this error message (between the dashed lines) from the compiler:

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    init:
    deps-jar:
    Compiling 2 source files to C:\Documents and Settings\mohsen madi\Desktop\sjstudio8\bezierAndPostscript\build\classes
    C:\Documents and Settings\Desktop\sjstudio8\bezierAndPostscript\src\BezPSNoComments.java:227: variable-arity methods are not supported in -source 1.4
    (try -source 1.5 to enable variable-arity methods)
    private double eval(double t, int... p) {
    C:\Documents and Settings\Desktop\sjstudio8\bezierAndPostscript\src\BezierPostScript.java:316: variable-arity methods are not supported in -source 1.4
    (try -source 1.5 to enable variable-arity methods)
    private double eval(double t, int... p) {
    2 errors
    BUILD FAILED (total time: 0 seconds)
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Of course, I right-clicked my project, selected proprties, and saw that:
    - in "Libraries", the Java Platform field is set to JDK1.5 (Default)
    - in "Build-Compiling", I added the "-source 1.5" in Additional Compiler Options, and
    - in "Run", I added "-source 1.5" at the VM Options field

    But non of that worked for me!

    Apparently, one would get the same message any time one uses a Java 5 feature like the "variable-length argument list" above or the "enhanced for loop".

    How can I make my project be compiled by JDK 1.5 to make benefit of the Java 5.0 features and not have it go to J2EE 1.4 apparently or wherever it goes?

    Thanks,
    Mohsen Madi

    Hi, I am new to this Java.
    I have a source code.
    It requires javamail and activation jar
    i have downloaded and copied the jar files to lib folder
    but it is not compiling.
    it gives the following error:

    sendmail.java:4: package javax.mail does not exist

    Please help me in this
    regards
    John

    DB:3.11:Javax.Mail 9j

    There are third-party programs that will wrap your program in a Win32 executable (.exe). I've never used one myself but have seen them mentioned here in the past. Search the forums if that's what your looking for.

    The Java method is to create an executable jar file. This is just a normal jar file except it would contain a manifest with the line

    Main-Class: sendmail

    in it.

    There are instructions on this site if you look at the docs for the sdk, alternatively search the forum for executable jar. It is asked quite often.

    Regards

    Hi,

    I've set my path as :
    set CLASSPATH= C:\B4075\test
    and I've tried to compile Encoder2jk
    which is kept in test
    using: javac -depend Encoder2jk.java
    but I was given a "bad filename" comment.

    I'm using Java 2 SDK Standard Edition V 1.4.0

    How should I solve this problem so as to compile the code?

    DB:3.10:Compiling Java Source Code 9j

    i have downloaded the jre version from ure site...when i go to the ms-dos prompt..and give jdk1.3..its gives a bad filename.i dont know what to do.the program is neither compiling nor running.

    Do not try compiling your java bytecode into machine code (EXE),
    Rather put all your .class files into a .jar file (Java executable file).

    Search the forums their are plenty places here where directions or links to directions for creating jar files have been provided.

    look at thread :

    most likely you did not specify the -Djava.security.policy property properly.

    DB:3.08:Compiling A Servlet Into Native Code Using Gcc??? 7c

    gcc can apperently compile java source code into native code. Has anyone ever done this for a servlet?? i.e. i want to write a CGI program in Java because I'm good at Java, but my host won't supporft Java Servlets.. I want to make a .CGI machine code file, just like i could if I wrote it in C.

    Any thoughts??

    THanks
    The PhatBarron

    DB:3.08:Compiling A Servlet Into Native Code Using Gcc??? 7c

    I don't think so. :-)

    CGI programs work by writing to standard output and reading environment variables.

    Servlets work by writing to a servlet output stream and reading servlet request properties.

    You'd have to do a lot of bridging to make one call the other.

    DB:3.07:Custom Action Block: Javawsapplicationmain [Error] - Error Creating Component : Addtwonumbers/Customactions.Simpleactions : Customactions.Simpleactions ac

    Hi guys,

    I'm trying to use the custom action block described in "Developing Custom Actions in SAP MII 12.2". I can deploy it successfully but whenever I open workbench the following error is displayed:

    javawsApplicationMain [ERROR] - error Creating Component : AddTwoNumbers/customactions.SimpleActions : customactions.SimpleActions

    I tried compiling the source code with Java SDK (32bits) 1.5 and 1.6, but no success. Any clues on that?!

    I've attached the Eclipse project (rename ActionBlock.txt to ActionBlock.zip) that generates the custom action block and the generated file (rename CustomAction.txt to CustomAction.jar) to this message if it helps.

    Regards,

    David

    Just to give you feedback. I was opening SAP MII workbench using .jnlp file as a shortcut on my desktop. The .jnlp didn't have reference to the newly deployed custom action jar, so it was showing that error. When I opened workbench via browser it worked! Problem solved!

    DB:3.07:Command Line Too Long. Using Rapc And Compiling From Source. 91

    Hi everyone,

    I am getting "command line too long" when compiling my app using rapc and compiling form source code.

    According to documentation found here, rapc accepts names of source files along other options. Unfortunately, I have too many source files, so when I am specifying all these source files I am getting "command line is too long" error in windows command prompt.

    Documentation also states that rapc accepts .jar file, which has to have compiled binaries. So my question is how to pre-compile my .java files from command line and package them in .jar? I can not find any documentation or examples on how to pre-compile source files correctly from command line.

    I am using SDK 6.0

    Thanks in advance for any hints, links to docs, or a good looking example command line :-) !

    DB:3.07:Command Line Too Long. Using Rapc And Compiling From Source. 91

    Solved this by specifying @sourcefile - a text file with list of all my .java files.

    Found this in Oracle Java docshere.

    Thanks everyone who looked into this.

    Hi there,

    Is it possible to compile java applications with the source files encoded in utf-8 format?

    DB:3.07:Compiling Utf-8 Source Java Files sm

    Thank you for your reply, but i have an error when i
    compile like that

    error: compiler message file broken:
    key=compiler.err.java.io.UnsupportedEncodin
    gException: utf8 arguments=null, null, null, null,

    1 error

    What is error mean??The following all work with the Sun jdk 1.4

    javac -encoding UTF8 MyClass.java
    javac -encoding utf8 MyClass.java
    javac -encoding utf-8 MyClass.java

    If the encoding is wrong then it produces the following error

    error: unsupported encoding: XXXX

    And that is not the error that you are getting. Which at the very least suggests that you are not using Sun 1.4. So it might help to know which version you are using.

    how can I compile my source code in mvl3.1 OS mode?

    DB:3.06:Compiling Source Code In Linux Mode k3

    correct you must use the MontaVista SW suite to build a kernel.

    When Linux is selected as the OS, EDK is only used to build the BSP, it is not used to compile source code.

    Hi radone,

    I just read your posting and suddently got an idea why your compiler was complaining about the period. In most C environment, there is a definition

    #define s_addr S_un.S_addr

    in some socket-related header file! Now you know where the dot is coming from.

    I am having a hard time compiling my .java files using javac. I know there aren't any errors in my code (it's too simple). I keep getting 'cannot read file, error 1'. Does anyone know what this error is and why I get it. Using the same compiling code on another file in the same directory works. (it's the only one that works)

    DB:3.04:Compiling z3

    i think its the problem with class path, u can set classpath temporarily using the command
    for eg: ' set classpath=%classpath%;c:\jdk1.3.1\bin ' , then compile ur .java file. and if u r still getting error, please paste ur java code ,then we can find out what is the error in it.

    java is the best....

    I'm trying to connect to a web service that uses
    complex-within-complex data types for its parameter.

    I am constantly getting errors trying to invoke the web
    service and it has been recommended by someone on this list (Mr.
    Andreyev) that I do the following:

    1. Use wsdl2java tool (CF_HOME/runtime/bin) supplying URL to
    webservice WSDL to create java code.
    2. Create java classes by compiling java code created in step
    1
    3. Create jar file(s) from classes in step 2
    4. Put jar file in CF classpath or just copy it to
    CF_HOME/lib directory
    5. Using cfscript create required objects, arrays and
    other arguments and supply them to web service method call.

    This is not as simple as it sounds (well, not to someone
    who's only interaction with java is in a cup).

    1. Use wsdl2java tool (CF_HOME/runtime/bin) tsupplying URL to
    webservice WSDL to create java code.

    This has been done. The tool created a series of subfolders
    under C:\CFusionMX7\runtime\bin which ends in a folder called
    schema

    Inside schema are six other folders that each contain 1 and
    111 .java files

    [EDIT] I think I have part of the problem worked out.

    2. Create java classes by compiling java code created in step
    1

    This has not been done.

    My command line in javac is: javac @filename -verbose -source
    1.4

    I get a total of 100 errors and 33 warnings

    All the errors are on this theme:

    C:\CFusionMX7\runtime\bin\...\AccommodationRoomT
    ype.java:10: package org.apache.axis.encoding does not exist
    public class AccommodationRoomType implements
    java.io.Serializable, org.apache.
    axis.encoding.SimpleType {

    The common theme in the error messages is:

    package org.apache.axis.something does not exist

    Am I not using javac correctly or is it just battling to
    compile the code generated by wsdl2java?

    Thanks
    Neal

    DB:3.04:Compiling *.Java For Cfinvoke 81

    Hi there Mr. Andreyev

    [EDIT]. You are a prince amongst men, sir. All .class files
    have been created
    This version of your line worked
    javac -source 1.4 -deprecation -classpath
    C:/CFusionMX7/lib/axis.jar;C:/CFusionMX7/lib/xml-apis.jar;C:/CFusionMX7/lib/saaj.jar;C:/C FusionMX7//lib/jaxrpc.jar;.
    @C:/CFusionMX7/runtime/bin/au/com/qantas/www/schema/allfiles.txt

    It threw
    warnings, not
    errors. I was reading them as the same thing.

    Thank you for your kind assistance. On to step 3!
    [END EDIT]
    Using the command line as you suggested threw up a new set of
    errors but I think I know what is causing them.

    The first time I tried your script I modified it as follows:

    javac -deprecation -classpath
    C:/CFusionMX7/lib/axis.jar;C:/CFusionMX7/lib/xml-apis.jar;C:/CFusionMX7/lib/saaj.jar;C:/C FusionMX7//lib/jaxrpc.jar;.
    C:/CFusionMX7/runtime/bin/au/com/qantas/www/schema/aCalypsoV1/*.java

    Note that there is a space between the period (.) and the
    start of the path to the java files.

    On running this i received back many many error messages
    pointing out that
    "as of release 5, 'enum' is a keyword, and may not be used as
    an identifier (use -source 1.4 or lower to use 'enum' as an
    identifier)"

    I then modified your line as follows
    javac -source 1.4 -deprecation -classpath
    C:/CFusionMX7/lib/axis.jar;C:/CFusionMX7/lib/xml-apis.jar;C:/CFusionMX7/lib/saaj.jar;C:/C FusionMX7//lib/jaxrpc.jar;.
    C:/CFusionMX7/runtime/bin/au/com/qantas/www/schema/aCalypsoV1/*.java

    This also gave me a bunch of errors in the vein of:

    "C:\CFusionMX7\runtime\bin\au\com\qantas\www\schema\aCalypsoV1\ContactDetails.jav
    a:38: package au.com.qantas.www.schema.CustomersV1 does not
    exist
    public void
    setEmailAddress(au.com.qantas.www.schema.CustomersV1.EmailAddres
    s emailAddress) {"

    The .java files that were created by wsdl2java were grouped
    into six folders under /www/schema
    Every error message references one of these other folders. It
    looks like the compiler is trying to reference them.

    I have these folders:
    www/schema/aCalypsoV1
    www/schema/AmadeusBookingsV1
    www/schema/ChannelsV1
    www/schema/CustomersV1
    www/schema/FinancialsV1
    www/schema/ReferenceV1

    I tried creating a text file with an absolute path to every
    single .java file in those six files in it (naming it
    www/schema/allfiles.txt) and modifying your script as follows:

    javac -source 1.4 -deprecation -classpath
    C:/CFusionMX7/lib/axis.jar;C:/CFusionMX7/lib/xml-apis.jar;C:/CFusionMX7/lib/saaj.jar;C:/C FusionMX7//lib/jaxrpc.jar;.
    @C:/CFusionMX7/runtime/bin/au/com/qantas/www/schema/allfiles.txt

    This threw a set of errors in this theme

    C:\CFusionMX7\runtime\bin\au\com\qantas\www\schema\ChannelsV1\Channel.java:32:
    w
    arning: as of release 5, 'enum' is a keyword, and may not be

    er

    Using -source 1.4 throws errors saying use source 5 or higher
    Using -source 5 or leaving it out altogether says use source

    I am stuck.

    DB:3.03:Can Not Compile Helloservlet3.Java With Servletutilities pf

    My guess is that you need to have an import statement for the ServletUtilities class. If it's in the classpath, then the webserver loads that jar and knows about the classes inside it, but your servlet still needs to import the ServletUtilities class to use it (unless they are part of the same package and are in the same directory hierarchy).

    I hope this helps,
    Val

    Maps in general don't have an ordering. TreeMap (an implementation of SortedMap) orders based on the entries' keys rather than values.

    To obtain the entries in a map based on the value of their keys you should:
    liUse the Map entrySet() method to obtain a set of the entries/li
    liUse this to construct an ArrayList ()/li
    liUse Collections.sort() to sort the list/li

    The last step involves implementing a comparator of the correct type, ie ComparatorEntryString,Integer, which simply compares the values of the two entries.

    and when i looked around i saw the asn1 folder inside D:\crypto-124\src\org\bouncycastle\ folder...

    but i think basically my question is how to compile file with the statement import *** something, right?

    any help are greatly appreciated. if any of u doesn't understand what my question actually is, please do tell me. thanks..

    DB:3.01:Newbie Question..Compiling With Org? 1d

    I think you need to add something to the classpath
    environment variable.Bad advice. Don't do that. Your Eclipse project will ignore the environment variable anyway, and it is really never a good idea to depend on the environment variable to be set.

    DB:3.01:Problem With Compiling Java Source m9

    Hello!

    I am new to Java. I would like to compile bigger Java source, downloaded from http://rsb.info.nih.gov/ij/download.html.

    Source contains files like compile.bat, Manifest.mf and build.xml.

    When I try to compile as a project in Netbeans, I get error linked to line:

    private static sun.tools.javac.Main javac;Can somebody help me with this problem? Thank you in advance!

    DB:3.01:Problem With Compiling Java Source m9

    you need to include a jar file called tools.jar in your classpath. That jar should be found in your jdk directory (i think it's under lib/).

    I used this tutorial,

    http://www.particle.kth.se/~lindsey/JavaCourse/Book/Part1/Java/Chapter01/simpleApplet.html

    However, I STILL get a red X on my personal webpage even after compiling everything here.. Another weird thing was, I couldn't even compile it correctly without removing the 'public' before the 'class'.

    System.out.println("Hello World!");
    }
    } HTML:
    applet code="HelloWorld.class" width="150" height="50"/appletAnd the error I get.

    DB:3.00:Error While Running Compiled Java Code 99

    Hi

    I have an evaluation license of the JDeveloper2.0 installed on my WindowsNT 4.0 workstation.
    I seem to have a problem running my compiled jave code. After compiling the source code(.java file) when I try to run the same I get a message saying

    "FileName not found in outpath classpath or sourcepath ".

    What does this mean and how can I rectify it?

    Regards
    Sree

    DB:3.00:Error While Running Compiled Java Code 99

    Your classpath tells Java run time where to look for the class files it needs. In JDeveloper the class path is set in your project properties. Select Project-Properties and check that the source and output paths correspond to your myprojects and myclasses directories.

    DB:3.00:How To Write A Java Interpreter? ff

    I've just finished reading the Core Java Technologies Technical Tips "Compiling Source Directly From a Program". Apparently, you can compile a Java source file from within Java code.

    I need something similar - AN INTERPRETER, where you can type a single Java statement and it is be executed.

    Example:

    java.util.Date date = new Date();
    System.out.println(date);Tue Jul 22 11:25:16 PDT 2003
    date = null;Any ideas how this can be done?

    DB:3.00:How To Write A Java Interpreter? ff

    Try:

    http://www.beanshell.org/

    Or:

    http://www.mozilla.org

    The JavaScript console in the newer Mozilla browsers support the Java. You can code Java directly in the JavaScript console.

    DB:3.00:Cdc Compiling Problem da

    I am compiling CDC source code (j2me_cdc_fp-1_0_2-src.zip) downloaded from sun java website in Ubuntu Linux. But now I have problem to pass it.

    I have jdk1.6.0_03 installed in my Ubuntu. When I start to compile this package, I got 24 errors like this

    +../../src/share/classes/sun/security/provider/PolicyFile.java:478: as of release 5, 'enum' is a keyword, and may not be used as an identifier+
    +(use -source 1.4 or lower to use 'enum' as an identifier)+
    + (PolicyParser.PermissionEntry) enum.nextElement();+

    I changed javac command option to add -source 1.4. Unfortunately I got new error like this

    +../../src/share/classes/java/io/ObjectStreamClass.java:245: cannot find symbol+
    symbol : method initCause(java.lang.ClassNotFoundException)
    location: class java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError
    +if (!(all || Serializable.class.isAssignableFrom(cl))) {+
    +^+
    Fatal Error: Unable to find method initCause

    Do I need to rewind to jdk1.4? Please show me way on this. Thanks in advance!

    Did you find a solution to this? I'm having a similar problem when attempting to use .class in a JavaME MIDlet.

    Thanks,
