    Just last week I had some serious trouble regarding my BlackBerry 9220 mobile phone. Suddenly, about 6 days ago my BBM setting got off. So what I did, I conducted security wipe out. And still the same. After I logged in my BB id and my password, of course normally BBM setting will follow. The problem is it doesn't push through. What I am talking about is the caption "Setting up BBM Setting". It doesn't pursue. Now I already went to globe center to troubleshoot and called the globe call center (I got my phone from Globe plan), but still they could not solve. Their diagnoses is that my phone may really have a problem that only BEC can solve. Now, I'll be going to Cebu on the 1st week of October. I am assured that BEC can accommodate this concerns as soon as I got their? Because, I may only spend 3 days in Cebu. Please let me know your feedback regarding this concern.     I bought curve 9360 few days back and it looks like a potential bomb to me,since it gets hot every time i use it for more than 15 minutes. or evenwhen i charge it, its battery gets very hot.

    currently trying to run the latest softwarre update on my BB and the screen has frozen at 12% while apparently backing up the social feeds. Have tried battery pulls, have taken out SIM, and SD card, and have rebooted without removing battery. On re-starting the screen starts up from zero again only to get stuck on 12% as before.     Open Blackberry Desktop Software Connect your device with PC using USB cable, without inserting battery.
    You will get three option Retry, Update Or Cancel, then click on update.
    Once it is to the stage of the update "initializing handheld", then insert battery.
    If this does not work, and you remain stuck on the backing up the Social Feeds database, go to the second method below.

    Secondly:

    Hello Team,

    I have a blackberry curve 9360 model and I am having problems using the trackpad to scroll. This is a weird issue -

    The Track pad works well ( I can click Scroll)

    The only problem is I cannot scroll beyond the screen

    eg -when we go to the Panel (Blackberry Main Menu) with all the icons you have multiple rows of icons displayed, the first screen when you open the Menu has 3 Rows of Icons displayed. Now when I use the trackpad to scroll to the 4th Row it moves the pointer but the 4th Row wouldnt scroll up to be displayed within the screen.

    Similarly, lets say if I want to go to a particular website I open the browser and desired website, but I am not able to see the page by scrolling which is beyond the screen.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also if some one can post the official full release of the Blackberry OS 7.1 it would be of great help, as I think its a software problem

    It may take you multiple attempts to get the ESC key sequence (press/release/hold) correct, so be patient. When successfully into Safe Mode, see what happens.If the behavior ceases, then think carefully...what happened just before this behavior started? A new app? An update? A Theme? Something else? Think carefully as the smallest change could be causal...and attempt to undo whatever that was.

    But if the behavior continues in Safe Mode, then you may need to consider more drastic actions -- WIPE, OS Reload, BBSAK Wipe/Reload, and the "Bare Bones" OS Reload Process. To prepare, you should be sure that you have a full backup to your PC...please review the Backup link in my auto-sig on this post for instructions.

    I recently purchased a Curve 9360 (which was water damaged) off of a friend of mine. only problem is the screen doesn't work. I have replaced it, but nothing happens.

    The keyboard and track pad light up as it normally would upon booting, and also the red LED comes on as normal. The only sign of water damage is on the battery. The other indicator is still white. from what i was told it was only slightly dropped in water (and not for a long time).

    Any ideas on why this may have affected the screen? the phone works fine - can make calls, the phone rings and can hear when message are received etc. Could this be a software problem at all?

    The only thing predictable about moisture intrusion into a BB (indeed, any electronic device) is that the results will be unpredictable. I've seen some come back up right away and be fine. I've seen others never work at all. I've seen still others run for a bit, and then die later. And every thing in between. If this process has not yet been conducted, then please referto this FAQ:

    Do everything it says, including waiting the maximum recommended time. Applying power to your BB between it getting wet and doing this process reduces the chances of success.

    I have a similar issue... I just bought a 9360 for a few days and now the camera is giving garbled photos

    Whenever I take a picture, the resulting photo is messed up: the whole picture is mostly pink, green, white, black or some other colors with bits and pieces of the pixelated image taken

    The strange thing is, the video recording is working fine... So I know it's not a hardware issue and he issue might specifically be the camera software

    I tried wiping the device; it didn't work... and reinstalling the OS; didn't work either

    Is there like a patch or a fix for this software?

    I have a new Blackberry Curve 9360, barely a few days old.

    I was sitting down when my phone fell at knee height onto carpet. The phone was on, with about half battery life, before it fell. When it hit the ground, the screen went blank. I tried a battery pull but this didn't fix the issue.

    When I plugged it into my wall charger, a red LED light turned on for around 30s then that turn off. A few seconds later, a battery with a lightning bolt through it appeared on the screen.

    I have no idea what the problem is. I've had another blackberry that fell on pavement while it was on and it didn't hurt the phone at all (except for a scratch).

    The only apps I have where the ones that come with the phone as well as ScoreMobile, ScoreMobileFC and The Weather Network. However, I highly doubt that these are the problem because my phone had been working fine with theses apps for a couple days.

    When I connected the phone to my PC, Desktop Manager could recognize my phone any longer. The error screen read "BlackBerry Desktop Software cannot communicate with the connected device". I do have the lastest update of Blackberry Desktop since I installed it today.

I get approx half way through the update and then an error message comes up saying retry or cancel. I press retry and I only get to the same point as before and the same error message appears.     Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community.

    You may need to start your software update without the battery inserted then reinsert the battery after the software load has started. http://bbry.lv/k9pwuZ

    This will remove your personal data, so make sure you have a backup to restore this from.

    If you still have an error connecting during the update, try only reinserting the battery once the software load reaches the "load JVM" stage.

    i'm not sure what you are asking then if you have returned the 9360.but if you are having battery issues you should look at the following:- are you in an area of weak signal?- do you have many apps running- are your apps updating frequently if not push (ie facebook updating the news stream ever 15 minutes)- switch off wifi and bluetooth when not in use

    Well, it depends...you knew that was coming, I hope!!

    IF your company also hasBlackBerry Enterprise Server/Solution (BES), then the BBs can fully integrate with Exchange for OTA sync of much information between the BBs and Exchange. If they do not have BES, and are hesitant because of the cost, then they should investigate BES-Express...which is FREE!! Note that, with full BES, the BBs must have a BES-level data account from the mobile service provider...with BES-X, only a BIS level data account is required.

    If your company cannot have BES, then further IF they present the email accounts to the "raw" Internet (e.g., no VPN required) in some fashion (e.g., Outlook Web Access, POP, IMAP, etc.), then using BlackBerry Internet Service, the BBs can manage email.

    If none of the above exist (e.g., there is no Internet facing email service), then the only integration with the BB can be via the Desktop Software, and no OTA functions whatsoever can exist.

    What you describe can be caused by moisture damage inside the device...if that's at all possible, then

    REMOVE YOUR BB BATTERY NOW!!!Run, don't walk, to this FAQ:

    Do everything it says, including waiting the maximum recommended time (perhaps longer...perhaps 5 days). Applying power to your BB between it getting wet and doing this process reduces the chances of success. Further, the only thing predictable about moisture intrusion into a BB (indeed, any electronic device) is that the results will be unpredictable. I've seen some come back up right away and be fine. I've seen others never work at all. I've seen still others run for a bit, and then die later. And every thing in between.

    If moisture damage isn't possible and/or the above does not resolve the issue, then I recommend that you attempt to boot into Safe Mode:

    It may take you multiple attempts to get the ESC key sequence (press/release/hold) correct, so be patient.     But if the behavior continues in Safe Mode, then you may need to consider more drastic actions -- WIPE, OS Reload, BBSAK Wipe/Reload, and the "Bare Bones" OS Reload Process.     Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

    I have a motorola atrix but I really want to switch to blackberry. I've always liked them but until recently I didn't have a stand alone mp3 player. My only issue is the model I'm looking at (Curve 9360) apparently has horrible battery life. Other than that it looks perfect for my needs. Does anyone have any advice or is the battery life really not bad? I've heard curves are notorious for amazing battery life and this model only lasts 12 hours at most.

    I have a BlackBerry Curve 9360.

    At one point the trackpad started having difficulty in clicking.

    Then one day it completely stopped clicking.

    It scrolls up and down and left and right, but does not click.

    I have tried:

    - a battery pull (about 50 of them)

    - a device whipe (3 of those)

    - a software downgrade (two of those in combination with a device whipe)

    - replacing the trackpad (3 different trackpads which can all click but not scroll?!)

    Please help me with this issue.

    I don't think it's a hardware issue do to the fact:

    - current trackpad -- scrolls but doensn't click

    - new trackpads -- doesn't scroll but clicks

    I have taken my device to two local repair shops but after telling him everything that I have tried, they were clueless on how to help me.

    As I suspect this to be a software issue.

    Perhaps could you advise me on how to 'clean' my blackberry.

    Maybe some earlier installed application has left some 'dirt' on my phone.

    If a Battery pull is unable to resolve the issue then as a next steps you can try Reloading the OS . But first do a Backup of your Device, for help refer to this Article :How To Backup Your BlackBerry.Once it is done you can reload your device software , for that refer to this Knowledge Base Article :

    KB11320: How to perform a clean reload of the BlackBerry Device software using BlackBerry desktop software for windows

    After reload don't Restore any applications from your Backup do a selectiv restore , sometime a bad app can also create such issue , So restore only your contacts and calender entries. If problem resolves then restore only BlackBerry Native application one by one , to see the results.

    If even after OS Reload those issue remains , then I am sorry to say that you have to contact your Carrier or your service provider to get it fixed.

    If you mean your computer-based Outlook client, there is no direct wireless sync capability between them. Rather, each must be configured to sync to a server, which will serve as the intermediary between the two.

    For BB-level wireless synchronization, refer:

    For capabilities between the Outlook client and various servers/services, you need to research those separately.

    Yes tried a master reboot, battery pull, everything possible... Seems like a LED screen problem and is quite common according to other forums! The phone is still under warranty so I'm going to return it to the outlet I bought it from.

    Hi thereI have purchased a brand new blackberry curve 9360. At first I had this heating up issue which when I updated the software got resolved. Now, my major concern is the battery life. The phone only lasts 6 hours with 2g, wifi off, gps and Bluetooth off. I also have no applications running.I have read a few threads online and i conclude that all curve 9360 users are having the same issue as me.I hope you understand this major issue and resolve this by sending out another software update through blackberry desktop manager as soon as possible. Apart from this issue, I seem happy with RIM and I hope you carry on maintaining these standards in the future.Please reply back to me as soon as possible.Also could you please report this to RIM’S manufacturer in order to resolve this issue?     I've got a Blackberry Curve 9360 and I've just unlocked it so I can use my Vodafone sim. I've put the sim in and I'm just getting "SOS" 95% of the time. I don't think It's a Hardware issue because when I was at work in a certain area I was getting an EDGE signal but whenever I'd move out of that area I'd get SOS again.

    Could it be something to do with Bandmodes and Frequencies? Hopefully someone can help!

    there is a lot of relevant information missing. What is the exact issue? Do you have error messages, log entries etc?if you are positive about the OS version difference causing the issue you can log that on JIRA, but i doubt you will get a lot of coverage from BBRY on it, they are all very busy with BB10.

With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.Best!

    Between 3G/4G and the liquid graphics the battery life is not as good as it used to be. My battery on my 9810 gets depleted at a rate of around 5-10 percent an hour depending on use.It's just a fact of BB life.

    I have had my Curve 9360 for just over 3 months and have always kept it in a case.

    Recently the screen only shows a full screen of random-coloured pixels. The phone itself is still responsive, but the screen only shows this image. I took it to a technician who tried replacing the screen but this did not fix the problem.

    Any idea what might be broken and if it would be covered under my warranty? My mobile provider (WIND) has been completely useless in helping me.

But, from your description, I'd surmise it to be a hardware-level problem, requiring hands-on technical support.Reluctance to deal with the authorized service channel does not negate that authorization...

    Whenever you feel anything unusual always the best practise is a battery pull restart , do it by removing the Battery while your device is Powered On wait a min then re-insert it back , after reboot see if problem resolves.

    Also make sure that you are closing all application properlyAlways try to Close Applications Correctly - Avoid using the End key to close applications as this simply minimizes the application and leaves it running in the background. Instead, press the Menu key, select the Close or Exit option to exit the application.

    Hi, looking to hopefully get a response with an issue I'm having with chargers for my 9360. I have my own 9360 and a work 9320. The charger I have for the 9320 has a Euro 2 pin adapter as well as the UK 3 pin adapter option and so I had planned to just carry the 9320 charger with me as I travel to Europe quite often.

    Unfortunately lately my 9360 has started to develop a problem with this charger such that is starts charging but after about 5 minutes it shows the charge full symbol on the battery symbol yet the battery status is only showing 50%.

    When I use the charger that came with the 9360, it charges up fine.:smileyfrustrated!

    Anyone got any ideas why this may be happening and how I can solve it apart from 'use the 9360 charger '! Not sure if I've got a problem with my 9360 as this is the second 9360 I've had with charging issues though the last one just suddenly could not take charge from any charger, even the one provided with the phone.

    Raghav55, not really the response I was asking for; fully aware of the outputs of chargers which is why I have checked the chargers outputs.

    My standard charger is 5v/750mA whilst the other is 5v/700mA which in general electrical terms is nothing. I do have another charger that is an even lower 5v/550mA which although working on on the 9320, does not give a proper charge on the 9360. 9320 is a 3.7V, 1450mA/h capacity whilst 9360 is 3.7v, 1000mA/h capacity so you would expect the lower capacity to accept the lower output charger but it is the opposite.

    And if you read the message, you would see that the problems I had previously resulted in a change of phone; my current 9360 did not have the previous chaging problem! As the phone is only 2 months old, I would not expect to need to buy a new battery.

    And as far as getting in touch with Blackberry Support, I thought this forum would do that!

    My niece had dropped my Blackberry Curve 9360 and the actual screen on the phone has cracked down the middle and all of the liquid from the LCD screen has leaked so I can not see anything on the screen of the phone. I have searched the internet and have found LCD screens that I can buy and can put in myself (or someone I know) but it says that I need the right version... I'm not sure how to find out what version I need without taking out the LCD screen, which I don't want to do just yet. If anyone can help at all, I'd be greatful.

    you will need to take apart your phone and remove the damaged LCD first as the part number is printed on the back. Just search for "blackberry curve 9360 teardown" or "how to replace LCD on Blackberry Curve 9360" and there will plenty of results for videos on youtube which will show you how.Once you have removed the screen you will be able to see which version of the screen you need to buy 001 002 etc.hope this helps

    Oh wow, yea you've got a lot there. You need to consider what you can get rid of or really need.

    And, you do need to remember, the 8900 model is over four years old, it was not designed to do everything which smartphones today can do with more advanced hardware and larger memory spaces.

    Databases... look at Options Status.

    Press the Menu key Database Sizes.

    Scroll through and note the three largest databases with numbers such as "123/56k" which are the top three with those numbers I've highlighted in red? Can you list those three here?

    Does reinserting the battery help? If not, you can rule out any software issue that may be causing this by backing up your device and doing a clean reload of your device software. http://bbry.lv/bpv7DT

    If this doesn't resolve the issue with the buttons, it could be hardware related and for this, you would want to contact your wireless provider or point of sale for other options.

    I am using BB Curve 9360. The problem is when i was tried to open BB Camera its showing "Could not star the camera. close other applications and try pening the camera again". I have already updated my BB OS 7 to 7.1 but problem is not resolve. Please help how to resolve this issue.

    KB15544 : " Could not lunch Camera application " error appears when opening the Camera on the BlackBerry smartphone.

    As you already Updated your device Software and If you're closing all application within your device properly then it is advice to perform a device Self Test which will reveal if the problem is within the Camera, If your Camera fail in selt test wizard then you have to Contact your Service provider to get it fixed .

    After the upgrade the phone now reboots everytime I try to view a video from the internet?

    You should probably do a clean OS reload...something may have gone wrong in the upgrade process.At the top of each device forum, there should be some "sticky" threads that discuss the OS levels available for many models. If they include your model, then please use those as reference as you proceed. Otherwise, you will have to dig through the official download portal for OS packages for your model:

    From a PC, you can install any compatible (e.g., for your exact BB Model Number) OS package to a BB via this procedure:

    Note that while written for "reload" and the Storm, it can be used to upgrade, downgrade, or reload any BB device model -- it all depends on the OS package you download and install to your PC. If that OS package is from a carrier other than the carrier for which your BB was originally manufactured, then delete, on your PC, all copies of VENDOR.XML...there will be at least one, and perhaps 2, and they will be located in or similarly to (it changes based on your Windows version) these folders:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    C:\Users\(your Windows UserName)\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

    Be sure that you remove, from your PC, any other BB device OS packages as having more than one installed to the PC can cause conflicts with this procedure.

    You may also want to investigate the use of BBSAK (bbsak.org) to perform the wipe it is capable of.

    You may also want to try this procedure to perhaps narrow down the precise causal item:

    Load your OS "bare bones"...if anything is optional, do not install it.
    If the behavior presents immediately, then try a different OS with step 1
    If the behavior does not immediately present, then run for as long as it takes for you to be sure that the behavior will not present.
    Add one thing -- no matter how tempting, just one.
    If the behavior does not present immediately, then again run for long enough to be sure it will not have the same problem
    Repeat steps 4 and 5 until all things are loaded or the behavior presents

    When the behavior presents, you know the culprit...the last thing you loaded.If the behavior does not re-present, then you know that either step 1 or 2 cured it.If the behavior presents no matter what, then you likely have a hardware level issue for which no amount of OS or software can cure.

    If you are on MAC, you are limited to only your carriers sanctioned OS packages...but can still use any levels that they currently sanction. See this procedure:

    Please can someone help. My curve has become very slow. Sometimes the timer appears in the centre of the screen, other times it just stops for a minute or so. I also had texts arriving several times a good while apart as if the phone is refereshing itself. It is up to date running 7.1.0 bundle 2039.

    It is because your applications are causing your blackberry to run slower, make sure you do not have any unnecessary ones on it. Or if you have multiple things running at the same time.

    Try to unplug the batery, replace the memory check the rest of the application. if less than 20MB remove the application that is rarely used. if still equal, the backup, then reinstall the os.

    My blackberry curve 9360 wont boot. I get a battery with red cross or it starts booting and after 2 seconds I get a black screen. I tried to reload the software but it can't reconect to the JVM after it starts reloadig the software.I hope you can help me.

    So, now it boots up and runs fine, but does not recognize your SIM card? Is there perhaps an error message? It's always better to diagnose from an exact and complete error message rather than trying to guess.Have you removed and reseated your SIM card? Sometimes that can help.Also, it's possible that your SIM went bad...you might need to talk to your mobile service provider about a replacement.Or, it's possible that your SIM card reader on the device went bad, in which case only in-person hardware repair can be of use.Good luck and let us know!

    Facing this issue since I bought the device since last Thursday. The issue is recurring, and even the successful account setup attempt never pops up email account message box on home screen and after some time the status is same - Invalid Account. Please Validate.

    I have spoken to the Starhub care but to no use. I know it's certainly not the device issue, somewhere Blackberry server or my Gmail server is at fault or I am not doing it the right way (now impossible as I have tried all the troubleshooting posts I managed to find on Google).

    It's very annoying now, why am I paying only for the BBM. I need email connectivity as well.

    Can anyone please help.

    i have a curve 9360 and my screen does not adjust up and down. Funny thing; i can use my trackpad and go up and down and i can click in links but they are hidden on a place in the screen. I can't see but i can click...
