What needs to happen is that all the boxes are on the same line connected together, but it shouldn't matter as to what locations they are in.

In my house, the main line comes into the 2nd bedroom. There it splits to one DCX3200M and the line continues to the master bedroom. There it splits 3 ways, one to a DCX3200M, one to a cable modem, and one line to the living room. The line going to the living room then splits to a DCX3400M (server) box and to a eMTA voice modem.

So as you can see, the line get's split a lot, but they are all connected together.

    Hi Everyone,

I am up to switching my comcast hd dvr boxes w/ comcast anyroom + slave/s. Upon reading the limitations of

    anyroom dvr

(e.g being able to stop and pause and continue watching programs on diff. rooms, however, cannot delete or set-up recordings w/ other rooms/slave unit.

    vs stand alone hd-dvr

(e.g. much the same funcation as the anyroom dvr and funcations as itself. but able to delete, st-up recording, pause live tv (program).

my set-up right now is 3-HD DVR (1st dvr $8.00 waived by comcast as part of loyalty for a year, 2-dvr's $16+ / each per month.

while having Anyroom (complete triple play package)

    - 1 Anyroom DVR (as master)

    - 2 Slave Units

    Rougly the same cost $30-35.

I guess my real question should be, Is it worth switching from stand alone DVR to Anyroom DVR with both having their advantage and disadvantages. Like I said the equipment cost is not much of a difference.

    Thanks a lot.

DB:4.92:Stand Alone Hd Dvr Vs Anyroom Dvr + Slave sc

The main difference is you will only have two tuners to record from on the master DVR, that's it. Now you can record 6 different shows across the 3 DVR's with your existing setup.

You will still be able to watch 1 channel of live TV or On Demand on each of the slave boxes while the master DVR is tied up recording from it's two tuners. You will be able to play recordings on the slave boxes from the master DVR, while it's tied up recording more content.

Many subscribers who are big on DVR's need more than those two tuners on the master DVR.

Currently I have 2 HD DVR's (one which is included in myHD Preferred XF Bundle package) 1 regular HD non DVR box.

I want to keep one of my DVR's, but drop the other DVR regualr HD non DVR box for an Anyroom DVR + 1 Anyroom slave box.

We have one main DVR and one anyroom receiver. The main DVR works just fine. The anyroom receiver constantly shuts off on its own, resets itself when it's turned on, says the DVR service is unavailable or that the HD service is unavailable. Once the box is reset by Comcast or reset by unplugging and plugging it back in....it works just fine. We leave the box on every night, and it either turns off during the night, or it gives us the "to be announced" message on every channel and the HD and DVR service don't work. This has been going on for over a month. Techs have been out here way too many times....and they can't fix the problem.

The box and cables have been replaced, a splitter was replaced, the faceplate was replaced, two wires in the wall were switched....nothing is fixing the problem.

Just wondering if anyone has had this problem, or if anyone has suggestions to fix this problem.

And it would solve the problem of the Motorola software on the CISCO boxes causing software bugs, as well. And it would be out in a month or two.

I use a satelite non-DVR box to watch recorded content from my main DVR using the Anyroom DVR service. Problem is that the audio is out of sync with the video. Play that card if you wish, but you won't get a great deal of support from me. X1 is cool and it has potential but it could be LIGHT YEARS better than it is and my days of defending X1 are over...If you like X1 in it's current form that is great. It seems that I'll just be wasting my time getting Comcast out. Thoughts?

Mark and this issue is not caused by pushing play after that ad breaks? If it is than rew a few frames then press play.

I have never had ongoing sync issues with the full DVR, but many have stated otherwise!

When I transcode a dvd movie for downloading to my iphone (using Handbrake freeware) and play it on the phone, sometimes I get the very same sync issue, usuually after pause and restart. on the iphone i exit the viewing and resume viewing and the issue is fixed. I suspect that this is caused by the mp4 type of recording where there are two+ streams and one takes longer than the other to process and put to the screen to view/hear. So one, probably the audio, is looped-delayed to a standard delay to match the video. I can't prove that this is the same issue but every time i've had my X1 to out of sync to audio it was after i had rewound/paused/5 minutes back/etc trickplayed. Each and every time it happens I just pause for a moment then restart and the problem is fixed.

First, I live in a Scientific Atlantla market. I have an HD DVR box in the living room, an HD non-DVR box in the bedroom and a basic cable box in the family room. I'd like to get an AnyRoom DVR so I can watch my recorded shows wherever I want (I know I'd need to get a digital box for the family room). Do I just go down to my Comcast office to pick up an AnyRoom box? The last time I asked they claimed they didn't have any left. If I hear that again can I order one online from Comcast?

    Thanks,

I just had my Comcast system installed today. I got the AnyRoom DVR package with one main DVR and two additional boxes. I can record with no problems from the main DVR. The programs always show in the "Shared Recordings" list and I can access them from the other two boxes.

When I record on the other two boxes, it does not work. I can go through all the motions of setting up the recording of the channel and time and it even looks like it is recording because there is a red dot on the channel in the guide. But when I hit "My DVR" I don't see the recording in the "Shared Recordings" List. I even get prompted when the recording is finished however, there's no way to access this recording.

I've talked to customer service and have had the boxes rebooted and pinged several times to no avail. What is going on here?

I believe though that the other units can only record to a VCR, not the hub DVR

The AnyRoom satellite box is a full HD cable box, it would replace any stand alone cable box on secondary TV's in the home. The only difference is that communicates withthe Master DVR, using MOCA, to play recordings stored on the Master DVR.

We have two X1 DVRs (two DVRs, not a DVR and Sattelite) and for about a year now we've had them separated completely. They could each record their own stuff and not see each other's recordings. It took many phone calls and hours on the phone with Comcast to achieve this last year. For about a week now it's gone back to sharing again. We don't want this. Before we had to go through a whole thing with getting the Anyroom billing codes turned off on the boxes and finally it took. I've called and they say the billing codes are still off and they have no answers. Has anyone run into similar issues with a similar setup?

DB:4.00:Had X1 Anyroom Disabled For A Year, Now It's Back On Again And Will Not Go Off. 3a

Yes, but it still will show combined saved list. I'm guessing most who want the separate setups are for guest houses or sub leasing.

Something wrong. Does it not show the shared recordings until the 3200m is plugged in for hours? The comcast guy said just let it load till it's loaded everything and it should work, but it's been like 3 hours and still nothing there. How do I make the shows show up in the shared recordings list on the 3200m box?

DB:4.00:Anyroom Dvr, Recorded Shows Not Showing Up On The 3200m Box 88

When the boxes are not talking to each other, the first thing to check is if the little "house" icon on each box is lit. On the slave boxes, the house will be lit if it can communicate with the master DVR.

Checkthat first, after rebooting the slave boxes.

It this is recurring, and you are lose the house icon, then the MOCA signal is week and a tech will need to get back out there.

I was a UVerse subscriber and was very happy with the service, especially the ability to schedule and watch recorded shows in any room I had a box. Unfortunatly, my family moved to a new house that did not have the higher download speeds that we had at out old home. So, with no other options I called Comcast. Talk to a sales rep, tell him what I want and that I have no need for phone service, but do need TV and internet, and he sets me up with a double play and 50Mbs download. During the conversation, I had talked extensively to him about having Anyroom DVR functionality and would that be available to me. He said that I should get it because it was available in my area. I was happy with the price, options and the availability of having it installed quickly so I agreed to go with Comcast.

Two days later the tech arrives and does a great job installing the DVR box, secondary non DVR box and the modem. I ask him if the anyroom DVR is working and he said no not yet, but you have all the hardware required and that Comcast just needs to flash the update to the cable boxes.

I call tech support and get the run around from some offshore help desk guy that keeps repeating that in order for my DVR to work I need to just reboot it. I kept trying to explain to him I didnt have a problem with the DVR, I needed the Anyroom DVR functionality I was told I would have. He says once again, that if I reboot the DVR I will get that functionality. I rebooted and, suprise, no change in functionality.

At this point I can sense he is not grasping the scope of my request so I call customer sales since I will then at least not be talking to someone with a limited understanding of my language.

At this point I get a sales rep who was very pleseant, but informs me that the only way I can get Anyroom DVR is by switching to a Triple Play package that I have no need for. I explained to him I don't need phone service and the extra $40 that comes with it, just to get something that I was assured I would get by both the original sales rep and the install tech. His reply was that I don't have to use the phone service..... :-| !!! I explained to him that paying $40 a month extra just to get Anyroom DVR functionality is insane!

I find it very dishonest that Comcast would not allow me to get Anyroom DVR unless I shell out a substantial amount of money per month to upgrade to a phone service I have no need for. I feel like I have been lied to from the start regarding this.

It would be extremely doubful these days with so many expensive DVR's and settop boxesin place to pull everything out and replace it. In the 80's 90's they used to when boxes were cheap, but it would be rare especially in a large system.

I could seethem doing it in a small system that they would shut down the existing SA headend and tie the system to a nearby Moto headend, but there are not many area's that can be done with. The larger the system, the less chance of it ever happening.

Most major MSO's run both brands of equipment in different areas.

You would never seen an official answer from Comcast on major equipment changes. Comcast is concentrating on getting the new features on the SA systems, it's easier and cheaper the change the software than the hardware.

TV 1 is in the living room. This would be where the primary DVR.

TV 2 is in a bedroom. The networked box will be here.

If someone is watching a recording or live tv in the living room, will another person be able to watch live tv or On Demand in the bedroom?

From what I read I know thatyou can watch different recordings on different TVs at the same time. So I am assuming that if a recording is being watched in the bedroom, someone else can watch LIVE tv in the living room. Is this assumption correct?

We are scheduled to have this guide available in another market before the start of the summer. You should be hearing some official announcements about that location very soon.

In some areas (Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Mississippi, Tennessee, Louisiana, Texas, Minnesota and New Mexico), we plan to deliver On-Screen Guide 2.0 http://www.xfinity.com/onscreenguide2 this year to the Cisco RNG series (RNG 100, 150 and 200) of cable boxes.

The long term plan is to get all of our newest cable boxes (regardless of hardware manufacturer or geography) onto a common guide starting in 2013 to provide a more consistent experience.

We don't currently have plans for On-Screen Guide 2.0 or 3.0in Indiana in 2012.

Now, however, my main box does not have sound other than for a few seconds after plugging into outlet.

DB:3.74:Re: Anyroom Dvr Hub Not Showing Recorded Shows On Terminals m7

you should have had them check for you while they were there.

check the connections on the box, you might have to unplug that one again

    Here is what you do.

unplug the master box. wait two minutes then go unplug all the slave boxes

now plug in the master box let it reset, wait for some guide data to load

now go plug in one slave

now do the next and let them all synch up. If that does not work check your connections at the box and tv. If you have that routed through an AV receiver take it out of there and go right to the tv with the hdmi if that works you know there is an issue running it that way and you should leave it that way and run an optical audio cable from the box to the receiver for sound,.

The opinions expressed by me on this forum are mine only as a customer. I do not work for comcast nor do I represent them in any way.

On 8/20/12 I upgraded my Motorola DVR DCX 3400 to an AnyRoom DVR - Motorooa DCX 3400m. I am not able to schedule recordings on it.

With my old DVR I could schedule recordings on my iPhone and on the Xfinity tv listings website. With the new DVR, the Xfinity iPhone app only recognizes the satellite cable box but not the DVR.

DVR manager on the xfinity tv listings website gives me the following message "DVR Manager is available in your area. However, we areunable to detect a compatible DVR in your household."

On the DVR, I tried remote access setup and for the past 24 hours it displays a message that "remote acativation is in progress" and that I should enter a code at xfinity's website. However when I go there I once again get the message that "DVR manager is available in my area etc".

I called Comcast several times yesterday but was unable to resolve this and just reached dead ends with the people to whome I spoke.

    My zip code is 01970.

Please help me to get this resolved.

    Thanks,

Per your instructions I did the unplugging and plugging in the order you suggested. Unfortunately the results were the same as before. Perhaps the tech can replace the dvr as it may be defective.

On the iPhone app I cleared the application and restarted it. It still only recognizes the satellite box. It is the only set listed in the iPhone app. The dvr does not show up there.

Read my experience titled X-1 and HD DVR. I wish I had read these forums as I would likelyhave kept the old DVRs. However, I do have to say that many of the X1 features are nice. Just keeping my fingers crossed that the mentioned problems dont happen.

Although customer service says you cant run x1 and another DVR on separate TVs, someone in one of the X1 forums said he does. Also, make sure they dont inadvertently deactive any of your DVRs as all data is apparently then gone forever.

Or, to put it another way, can I pause any non-recorded TV program on any of the the Anyroom devices?

DB:3.72:Anyroom Dvr Package- High Level Concept da

    Hi again,

Nope. Can't specifically find anything in the docs that says the Terminal set top box can pause a non-recorded program. Seems all the documentation is focused on recorded stuff. Unfortunately, if the Terminal set top box cannot buffer a non-recorded program to allow pause/rewind/fast-forward, well, I guess that means only one thing-- ditch the Anyroom system and go back to the standard DVR or back to DirectTV.The vids claimthat AnyroomDVR "Puts the power of your DVR in any room in your house". Unfortunately, that now appears to be an incomplete statement.I orginally thought the HUB DVRserved as a complete broadcast pointserving content to theTerminalset-top includingnon-recorded channels. It's a shame. The concept is great but it missed the mark just a bit. Now, it they had included some storage in the Terminal set-top boxes, (maybe a mini-DVR)so that the user could pause/rewind/fast-forward, then they would have a prettey good system. I though the system was going to eliminated having a full DVR for every TV.

DB:3.69:Av Receiver Not Compatible With X1? km

I have the X1 primary DVR in one room and one of those AnyRoom boxes that doesn't pause or rewind in the other room. In the room with the AnyRoom, I have a Sony AV Receiver (STR-SE501) powering the audio. This receiver will not work with playback of any recorded programs. Depending on what channel was recorded, the audio is either out of sync, suffers from constant dropout, or completely non-existent.

This is an old receiver. Probably 14 years old. I guess I'm willing to accept that it's not compatible with X1 (although it did work fine with the previous Comcast DVR), so if that's the case, I'm wondering a couple things:

    1) Will Comcast ever make their new hardware compatible with AV equipment like mine? I'm guessing not, so...

    2) Does anyone have any recommendation for a new AV receiver that actually works with the AnyRoom DVR?

    Thank you!

    -sam

DB:3.69:Av Receiver Not Compatible With X1? km

So latest is that I tried a 2nd TOSLINK cable. No luck. Same issues. Neither cable showed any kinks or obvious damage (and they work just fine for playback of live TV).

I then used the L/R composite outs from the AnyRoom to connect to the receiver, and that works fine. Audio and Video now seem to be fully functional.

I don't know much about AV systems, but I'm assuming I'm no longer getting true surround anymore -- although I am getting sound out of the rear speakers. Maybe that sound is just duplicating the L/R channels that the fronts are putting out?

I assume/hope that if I did get a new receiver that had HDMI inputs and outputs (mine predates HDMI) then I could use those to get surround back?

Thanks for all the advice so far!

I have 3 X1 DVR boxes in my home each with it's own hard drive. And I just had the new Cloud DVR activated yesterday. The comcast person on the phone said he was able to activate all 3 DVR boxes but after testing this it seems only one of my DVR boxes is working with the new Cloud DVR feature. Only recordings on one of my DVR boxes are showing up in the cloud. It seems like the other 2 are just recording to the local hard drive. I Like this new cloud DVR feature and it seems to work very well for at least one of my DVR boxes. So the question I have for any Comcast techs here is which is true? Can the cloud DVR feature work with more then one DVR box in a home? Or does the cloud DVR only work with one main DVR and the companion boxes that you use with "Anyroom DVR" which I currently do not use?

Also like I said I do not use "Anyroom DVR" however after I had the cloud DVR activated now all 3 of my DVR's with hard drives got a update for "Anyroom DVR". Anyroom DVR should not be working in my case because I have 3 DVR's with hard drives not the companion boxes . So now each DVR is seeing each others recordings and they do not even playback from the other boxes. So I am trying to get comcast to remove the Anyroom DVR feature from my account. I have a ticket number with comcast about this Anyroom DVR issue. I am just wonderoimg how long this going to take? Comcast must have added the Anyroom DVR codes to my account or something.

Also the comcast guy on the phone told me with cloud DVR it's now 1TB of storage instead of the 500GB that you get locally on the hard drive. Is this true? Also he told me Comcast will soon announce a brand new DVR that can record 6 shows at once and watch a 7th and will also be cloud only. It will not have any local hard drive.

I was on the phone with comcast what seemed like 3 hours

I'm looking to determine which DVR featuresshould work in my area (Marlton, NJ - 08053). It's a market with SA/Cisco set-top boxes. I have two DVRs: an SA 8300HD and a Cisco RNG200N, along with another Cisco RNG150N set-top box. The features that I'm interested in are:

    - AnyRoom DVR

    - DVR Manager

    - Caller ID

I previously had the HD Premier XF bundle and none of the above features worked; I assumed it was either because of the bundle I had or the older 8300HD DVR. I recently called Comcast to get a set-top box for a new TV, and the sales rep suggested I upgrade to HD Complete XF, which would give me AnyRoom DVR and DVR Manager, and he sent me out another DVR box - but still the above features don't work. I've been bounced around the call centers for over a month now, and no one has been able to tell me what services should work. From my research, it appears AnyRoom DVR isn't available (so there's no benefit to me in the upgrade), but I've been told by some Comcast reps that theythink DVR Manager should work, but have no way to verify.

Could someone please tell me what services should work or not? Is there some department in Comcast which actually knows which service is available? It's bizarre that Comcast sales rep will sell a service without knowing if it actually will work!

    Going out of my mind!!

Does anyone at Comcast know what the heck they are doing anymore?

Ok I keep my boxes fairly current and just redid my package to get a better deal. I added AnyRoom DVR as my wife wanted the ability to shift watching something the DVR in the living room recorded and watch in the bedroom.

Tech came out, did the line test (all solid and strong), added the filter to the line. Also noted our cable model was old so put in one of the latest ones. Great. A week earlier our bedroom HD box (older long silver model) was starting to act flacky and have green screens so I went to our local Comcast service center and got one of the brand new HD boxes (Pace 150N). Wife likes the size and HDMI works great.

    Back to DVR.

Living room DVR is one of the newer black boxes (3400m I think) and like I stated DVR works great and no issues.

New box in bedroom gets an error DVR is disabled, so I called and confirmed it's on the account. Yes sir it is. From reading the forums I unplugged all boxes, waited 15 mins and plugged in main DVR and let it cycle and pull all information back down. Then plugged in new HD box and let it sit as well. Still not able to press the DVR button.

Tried the iPad App (Xfinity TV) and the new box doesn't show up as a box that can be managed. Tried the MyDVR website as well and same issue. Main box shows, no other box listed.

Sorry so long winded so my questions:

    - Does the secondary DVR box need to have an internal HD for storage?

    - Is a certain box required to use AnyRoom DVR? (Tech stated all my boxes will work)

    - Why wouldn't the latest box not be supported?!?

About to drop AnyRoom DVR as this shouldn't be so hard. I've already used a vacation day to be home, and spent at least 2 hours troubleshooting.

    Cable Box: SCIENTIFIC ATLANTA SARN200N

Long Story: We recently installed an HD/DVR in our home which we picked up at our local Comcast office. Upon installing, I noticed that there were DVR programs already on it. Iassume thisreceiver had been someone else's and hadn't been wiped clean by Comcast before reissuing to us. No problem. I deleted theirrecordings/schedulesand set up my own. I also noticed that the channel guide was not the blue one I've seen before with Comcast service. This channel guide was COOL. It was much easier on my eyes (black background, soothing colors for each type of show, yellow highlight) and showed 9-10 shows (as opposed to the 4-5 on the blue guide). The filters were easier to use. We both liked it SO MUCH BETTER. Our assumption was that this black guide was the "HD" channel guide and that the blue guide was for people who didn't pay extra for the HD. (You know what happens when you assume, right?)

After a few weeks, the guide disappeared and was replaced by the blue one. As did everything I had DVR'd since installing the receiver. :-( I phoned Comcast and after several attempts to send codes and reestablish the channel guide we had become accustomed to. I wanted the "HD" guide back. The CSRs were unable toget the "HD" guide backand a service technician was scheduled to come to our home.

The service technician said he had seen this black guide before, but VERY rarely and only on a new installation. He said the blue guide is the standard guide and he didn't know where the black one came from. A call to another technician with a longer time at Comcast came up with the idea that this black guide might be the "old AnyRoom" guide. But how did it get on my receiver and where did it go?

Here is the theory: We (the technician and I) think that the receiver had not been wiped from the previous customer who had AnyRoom. Hence the programming in the receiver was old. A programming update was sent out on the day the black guide disappeared. We think the programming update recognized that there was oldsoftware on the receiver, wiped it clean of my DVR programming AND of the black guide. Boo hiss.

So the question remains: Can I get that pretty black "HD" guide back? Somehow? Anyhow? Does anyone have suggestions on ways I can customize the blue guide to make it more like the black guide?

I'd really like if Comcast could take the suggestion to change away from the blue to this one instead. Or perhaps make the guide something you can select from various templates and the black guide could be one of them.

Has anyone else experienced this situation with a lingering AnyRoom guide, or lingering programming in general?

I know this is a long post. I'm sorry. That's just how I am.

Well drat. That guide format is far better than the current one. Please pass on this one person's opinion. The black/purple/yellow/white with more lines of channels is much easier to see and use.

I have a 1 TB external hard drive connected to a Scientific Atlanta 8300 HD DVR. I love having so many hours of recording capacity especially during the Olympics. How many hours of HD recording capacity come with the Anyroom DVR equipment that is being rolled out in Palm Beach Gardens, FL? Is it possible to connect an external drive to the Anyroom DVR equipment? What are the brands and model numbers of equipment for this area? Does the customer get a choice of equipment?

DB:3.50:X1 Anyroom Dvr And Terminal Install Lessons Learned a1

I recently had a 2nd DVR and Terminal box installed for the Anyroom system. I wanted to cover some of the things I learned during this install.

The install was completed by a Comcast Contractor, he had done a few X1 installs but not many. The first thig he did was to remove the Anyroom POE filter from the back my original X1 DVR and install it just before the main splitter coming into my house.....(as I was to discover later, this was going to cause me some problems)....

He then went ahead installed the 2nd X1 DVR, and Terminal Box. He then activated the boxes and both seemed to work well.

After the installer left was when I discovered that my 2 DVR's did not act independently, and I also noticed that both new boxes had Oct versions of the STB Timestamp and my original DVR had Dec 2013 STB time stamp. I tried rebooting both boxes, and repowering but no change. I also tried paring the Remote on the new DVR and it didn't work.

I then discovered that in order to get both DVR's to work independently I had to install the Anyroom POE filter on one of the DVR's. I went ahead and removed the Anyroom POE filter from the Main line feeding into my splitter and before installing it into the back of the new DVR I went ahead and rebooted the DVR and Terminal Box. After the reboot, the new DVR now showed the Dec 2013 STB Timestamp, and the Remote was paired to the DVR. The Terminal Box also showed the Dec 2013 STB Timestamp. I then went ahead and installed the POE filter on the DVR I wanted to isolate.

I don't know why the New version of the STB Timestamp, and DVR pairing worked after I removed the POE Anyroom filter which was installed on my main feeder line.....but it did.

I also noticed this morning that the new XRE Server version 1.038.1 is on my Terminal, but neither DVR....I tried restarting the DVR's, but that didn't get the new version installed.

As it sits right now I have Ground Block POE filter which was installed yesterday by Comcast, and a Anyroom POE filter installed on 1 DVR.

I am curious if either of these 2 filters are blocking some of the updates that are trying to be sent to my DVR's????

    Has anyone else noticed this???

the other boxes are not dvr's they are slave boxes that access the main dvr. What do you mean how do you tell the remote what to do? The remote will change the channel or if you press dvr will acces what is recorded on the main dvr, from there you can press play pause ff rewind etc. The remote does what it always did. I think you think you have more than you do here. The remote does what it always did. is this your first dvr? If not it works exactly the same way.

I don't see the need for Constant Gaurd- do you use it yourself? If so... why? Also, while anyroom DVR may be overrated, it's just the simple fact that I've been waiting for it FOREVER. While an extra DVR would solve the issue, it's an extra $10 a month more than an HD box. Was $15 more than a set top (before they opted to get rid of that all together) and in my opinion the way EVERYTHING has gone up in the past couple years it's gotten rediculous. The least they can do is get their box availability correct across the board. I live in a high income area, where Comcast really started off. There's no reason why they should skimp on fixing this area up to be able to recieve these options.

    How to uninstall Constant Guard:

Please follow these instructions to UN-install Constant Guard:

Copy and paste the following link in your Internet Explorer browser – http://downloads.idvault.com/comcast/cleaner/constantguardcleaninstall.exe

    Select “Run” when prompted.
The tool will ask for permission to close all browsers. If prompted, select “Yes.”
The cleaner will note “Completed” when it has.
Restart your computer. It is the Restart which actually completes the software removal

    DB:3.48:Anyroom Dvr Networking Question ak

We have recently switched back to Comcast after 3 years with U-Verse. One thing we really liked about U-Verse was the whole house DVR, so we are getting the comparable (?)AnyRoom DVR service from Comcast.

How are the TV's networked? With the U-Verse service, the modem/router (or gateway) required a separate coax, and each STB could receive content either via coax from the outside splitter, or, via CAT5 from the gateway.

Is the network for the AnyRoom DVR service achieved via coax, or are the network connections achieved by connecting the DVR and sattelite STB's to the modem/router? Wired or wirelessly?

I want to be prepared for installation in a couple of days so that the installation is quick and there are no unexpected obstacles.

    DB:3.48:Anyroom Dvr Networking Question ak

AnyRoom DVR works over coax with something called MoCA. You don't need to prepare for anything and the main thing the installer needs to do is to install a MoCA filter at the point where your service is connected. This prevents your DVR sending its recordings to your neighbors and avoids interference.

DB:3.47:Motorola Anyroom Dvr - Season Pass Limits And Clipping dd

I am making the switch to Comcast from DirecTV. I will have the AnyRoom DVR (Motorola) and have just a couple questions...

    1) Will comcast dvr allow me to "clip" programs? For example, I have a show that the network has set to go from 9:01-10:02pm. Since it goes to 10:02, with direct I cannot record two programs that start at 10:00 because for those two minutes there is an overlap and my box only has two tuners. Direct has no way to tell it to "clip" one of the second programs to fit and no way to end the first program two minutes early. (i can only start early or end late, not vice versa).

    2) Does comcast have a limit to the number of season passes that can be set up at one time? With direct, I can have 50 season passes set up. If I want to add a new show to the recording list, I must delete an older pass first. This is frustrating because it's easy to get 50 season passes built up in a household of 4, especially considering there is one set for summer shows and one set for fall shows.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Are you saying that if I set up a pass for a certain show to record every new episode - if that show changes days or has a special showing on a different day or time it won't actually record it?

DB:3.47:Signed Up With Current Promotion Last Week - Comcast Not Honoring ca

Last week, I signed up for XF Starter Double Play for $89.99/mo. for 24 months. The package is currently being advertised (as it was last week) with "AnyRoom DVR Included". Talked to a rep over chat, who confirmed there were no charges for the DVR (or HD) for this promotion. Read the TCs, which also didn't mention any charges for DVR. (TCs for other packages included a line that adding a DVR was $7.99/mo.).

I only have one TV and I provided the modem. The rep I talked to confirmed my charges would only be $89.99/mo. plus taxes. Lo and behold, first bill comes the next business day, and there are charges for HD and DVR.

Talked to another chat rep, he tells me the package doesn't include DVR. Got escalated, new guy tells me he sees the promotion and understands that it's not making sense. Agrees I shouldn't be charged for the DVR, but he can't get the billing to system to take it. Escalates again and tells me I'll be getting an email.

Get an email from the escalation team telling me that equipment is billed separately and that my DVR is currently on promotion for $10/mo.

    So Comcast, here's my question:

If "AnyRoom DVR Included" doesn't mean that AnyRoom DVR is included, then what does it mean?

DB:3.47:Signed Up With Current Promotion Last Week - Comcast Not Honoring ca

I had success going to Twitter (@comcastcares). @ComcastMike issued a credit for the DVR for the first month and removed the "code" from the account so I won't get billed in the future.

Still getting billed for HD. Doesn't seem to be a way around that one. Seems to boil down to nefarious doublespeak on the part of their advertising. Apparently, "X1 HD DVR Platform Included" means that the box I have has the ability to view HD, but the HD channels aren't included. Total BS and dishonest marketing, but that's Comcast for you.

Crossing my fingers that ATT can get U-Verse TV and up their broadband speeds in my area by the time my 2-year contract is up. I'm also wondering how this will all play out when Comcast manages to f-up and revert to the wrong bill in the near future. Seems inevitable, right? Then I'll be out of my 30-day grace period and stuck in the contract. Speaking of which, I never received a contract or TCs.

If your on the many NJ Scientific Atlanta / Cisco systems, Comcast would keep the existing equipment and update the software.

The high costs of equipment would prevent the bean counters from wanting to spend the big $$$ for replacing SA with Motorola. It is not necessary, eventually they will get the software working for AnyRoom and the other web based features..

Cable boxes were alot cheaper in the 80's and early 90's when you would see systems change brands of equipment.
