    Hello all,

the migration from Confixx 3.3.3 to Plesk 9.2.1 doesnt work. If i take Plesk 8.6 there is no problem at same Server.

Is here anybody how could Help me ?

    thanks

    DB:4.44:Migration Confixx 3.3.3 - Plesk 9.2.1 k9

    Hello,

Please, note that the current version of Migration Manager for Plesk 9.x does not support the migration from Confix:
    http://download1.swsoft.com/Plesk/PPP9/Doc/en-US/plesk-9.2-migration-guide/63279.htm

As the workaround it is possible to migrate to Plesk 8.6, and then to migrate to Plesk 9.2.

    Regards,
    Maria.

    Hello,

I have 2 windows plesk servers, one has plesk 9.2.3 (with Plesk migration agent manager installed) and the second is a new one with Plesk 9.5.2 , I want to migrate all data/accounts from the old server to the new.

So I login to plesk, and go to Migration Manager , I do complete all the settings and when I press Next button I get
    always the same error:

Error: No migration agents found. Data migration is not available.

why is this happening? should I open some specific ports to firewall or something ?

    Ideal scenario for your upgrade.

    1. Get a new server and install Centos 4.3 on it.

    2. Install Plesk 8 on this server.

    3. Get a temporary Plesk key from Sw-Soft

    4. Use the migration manager on the new built server to migrate all of your clients to this server.

    5. Point your DNS to the new server.

    6. If all looks good you can scrap the old server and switch your old IPs to the new server as you had them before.

    It works.

As i said, i had a hard drive partition dev/sda1 which was full. Only 1Gb on it.

Why ? Maybe because of trying to migrate all domains in one time, and manual interruption after one night, because migration seemed not to work.

    What i did :
I deleted some log files (not sure they were on the full partition), and deleted the migration directory and all its contents with Putty (it made me remember when i was young, working on command line lol). Then, i had about 300 Mb free on dev/sda1.

    Tried migration :
Connection to old server : ok
Selection of only one website : ok
Migration : seems to work, but no file on new server ; only databases

Ill ask help on another subject if i cant find why.

When I migrate these customers Plesk tells me that the transition is done without problem, but in fact it just doesnt do anything. These clients stay in need of transitioning.

Ok so the first thing you should know about PCI testing is that the methods that the QSAs are using are very very inaccurate if they do network based checking. It absolutely *will* indicate problems that dont exist on PHP, apache, ssh, bind, ssl, etc.

If you are running the latest updates from CentOS you are fine on all counts because RHEL/CentOS operate off of a back-porting of fixes model. In fact this will even be indicated on the PCI vulnerability report, if the QSA has not redacted the information from their vulnerability scanner (usually Nessus, which you can download from www.nessus.org).

So first go through the vulnerabilities indicated, and verify that you are running the latest revs of those packages from centos. Submitting that information to your QSA should be enough to certify those vulnerabilities are closed.

    Hello

When I run /etc/init.d/named start it is already running, just Plesk doesnt show it as running.

    I also ran /usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/websrvmng -v -a

It looks like a DNS propagation issue. The problem seams to be clients are being directed to the default page on the new server, before its updated its DNS records, to display the right content and not the default page.

This seams to only an issue with migrated domains, when I create new ones everything is fine.

Any ideas on how I can force the server to display the correct content if the files and site are already set-up.

    Kind regards,

    20100628090520684

    20100628090818540
    20100628090819324

The first rsession 20100628090817906 has conflict for reseller res1 described in rsessions/20100628090817906/conflict_description. This conflict means that target Plesk server already has reseller with name res1 as in source dump, but with different guid. By default current reseller is preserved, i.e. reseller res1 isnt restored from source dump. And because source dump at rsessions/20100628090817906/info.xml contains nothing else instead of this reseller, customer doesnt see any changes after migration.

Workaround: remove reseller res1 from target Plesk server before migration.

DB:3.66:Plesk 9.5.2 - Error: No Migration Agents Found. Data Migration Is Not Available. ms

Yes, it works by the root. But will be good if it can be done by the usual not privileged user, as it was at 8.x plesk. Root using may be difficult at production servers. Ive watched the migration*.log and dont saw something needs. My temporary solving of this problem is make migration by root, unfortunately.

    Hello,

my old Plesk installation with 7.5.4 is gone, but I have a full backup

Now I reinstalled my root server with Plesk 9.2.3 and tried to migrate my backup.

Here is what i have tried:
    1) copy the backup to new installation
    2) Plesk (clean install) - Migration Manager - choose local file, pointed to the backup file and started
    3) after waiting about one hour (my backup is 74GB) the Please Wait screen disappears and forwards me to the main plesk desktop, but there are no resellers, clients but the disk usage has grown up about 74GB...

After some research on my server, I found some logfiles, but the errors arent very useful.
First log I found is the pmmcli.log at /usr/local/psa/PMM/logs.

    Code:

    DB:3.65:Problem Migration From Plesk 7.5.4 To 9.2.3 38

Thanks for your advice... I found this thread right after posting and started the migration...

The conversion from 7.5.4 to 8.x ran over 8 hours... And it took some finger-crossing that both backups fitted on the same harddisk (74GB + 67GB on a 150GB partition - thanks for compression!)... Now the conversion from 8.x to 9 is running...

    I hope that works

After all: 2 days (counting) for trying to restore an backup from an older version is no fun... Seems like Parallels has spent many time on an migration agent for older versions, but didnt do so for migration of backups...

The new Migration manager in PLESK v9.2.1 does not work when migrating from PLESK v7.5.4 (running on RedHat Linux) to PLESK v9.2.1 (also running on RedHat Linux). Using the manual method of backing up on the PLESK v7.5.4 system and then using the pre9-backup-convert utility DOES NOT WORK EITHER.

The problem seems to be that the pre9-backup-convert utility only recognizes backups from PLESK 8, and not from earlier versions, such as PLESK 7.

Hopefully this will be fixed in a later release of PLESK 9.

I think this is an outrage!
Have you ever heard about backwards compatibility?

Most hosting providers supply access to 9.x Plesk Panels
I decided to use Plesk 10.x for my new dedicated server and now I am stuck.
Once moved a domain to this server and you cant go back anymore.

The path to the font you wish to use..

Depending on which version of the GD library PHP is using, when fontfile does not begin with a leading / then .ttf will be appended to the filename and the library will attempt to search for that filename along a library-defined font path.

When using versions of the GD library lower than 2.0.18, a space character, rather than a semicolon, was used as the path separator for different font files. Unintentional use of this feature will result in the warning message: Warning: Could not find/open font. For these affected versions, the only solution is moving the font to a path which does not contain spaces.

In many cases where a font resides in the same directory as the script using it the following trick will alleviate any include problems.

    ?php
// Set the enviroment variable for GD
    putenv(GDFONTPATH= . realpath(.));
The y-ordinate. This sets the position of the fonts baseline, not
the very bottom of the character.
// Name the font to be used (note the lack of the .ttf extension)
    $font = SomeFont;

    DB:3.50:Migrating From Plesk/Sitebuilder 8 To 9? 9p

Im getting tired of waiting for the release of Sitebuilder version 5 and am planning on doing some
    server upgrades.

I have Plesk CP 8 and Sitebuilder 4.5 running on 2 Windows Server 2008 machines.

I want to install Plesk 9 on 2 new fresh Windows Server 2008 machines, less the Sitebuilder.

I want to put Sitebuilder 4.5 on a machine of its own so when Sitebuilder 5 is released I just have to upgrade
one machine. Ive learned from past experiences, as many know, that there are always a few bugs in upgrades.

I want to protect our Plesk servers so hence the offloading of Sitebuilder from the logical machines.

Question is: Is there a migration tool that will migrate both Plesk CP 8 and Sitebuilder 4.5 data in one easy task?

Ive used the migration tool for Plesk 8 many times and know that the Sitebuilder data isnt moved with it.
This causes havoc with our customers and sure dont want them to loose their Sitebuilder data.

Since the Plesk 8 migration to Plesk 9 is easy... How do I accomplish the task of taking the Sitebuilder 4.5
data from the Plesk 8 machines and put it on one single machine.

Also, along with this were going with a dedicated SQL server. So, in all were going from 2 physical machines that
handled everything, Plesk, Sitebuilder, and SQL to 4 machines: Plesk Server 1, Plesk Server 2, Sitebuilder Server, and SQL server. I think I might need a bit of help If anyone has any suggestions please post them.

    Thanks!

    Hi

Im new to this forum, I currently use plesk 9.3 on a linux platform and looking at moving to windows server using plesk 9.5.

The company im looking at moving to have said and i quote:

I have just had a word with the tech, with Plesk Linux, they wont be able to migrate the data due to different OS. They also informed me that in particular Plesk 9.3 does not have a powerful Backup/restore facility. They can help you with the migration process if Plesk allows them to do so.

Is this true, how easy is it to move my current plesk 9.3 setup and clients over to windows plaek 9.5.

When migrating the data, what information can actually move across - is it the entrie account including emails setting, website, horde emails etc..

According to Migration Guide http://download1.parallels.com/Plesk/PPP9/Doc/en-US/plesk-9.5-migration-guide/63279.htm you can perform this migration. Use this documentation for performing migration.

    1. Does the plesk migration tool transfer email accounts (including emails on server), login and databases?

    2. Are SSL Certificates transferred?

    3. How reliable is the plesk migration tool?

    DB:3.45:Client Migration cz

Weve used the migration tool to bring domains across from RaQ550s, other Plesk 7.x machines, and Ensim. So far, it has been very reliable, and a fun timesaver.

Mail accounts come over with no trouble. Databases make it perfectly when going from Plesk to Plesk. Logins and admins are handled well.

Weve not yet tried bringing over a site with a SSL cert, so be sure and post how that works out. Should not be a huge issue to transfer over even if it doesnt come in with the migration...

    DB:3.42:Problem Migrating A Server - Plesk 11.0.9 - Debian Squeeze 3z

    Hello,

I want to migrate a Plesk install from one server to another :

    Server 1 : Plesk 11.0.9 / Debian 6.0 - 64 bits / 4 customers / 9 domains
    Server 2 : Plesk 11.0.9 / Debian 6.0 - 64 bits

On both, one Ipv4 shared address and one IPV6 exclusive address

Ive tried the migration using the migration manager of Plesk, and a backup of the first server with command line tools. The best I have succeeded to do is to restore server settings and license, customers, subscriptions and domains, admin settings and domains. For the domains, Ive recovered mail addresses with the content of the mail boxes, and the databases. Ive never been able to restore the content of the websites. When I look in the domains panel of Plesk, I see no no web hosting indicated.

What can I do to fix that ?

    Thank you

    Hi

I migrated about 25 websites from Plesk 7.5 to Plesk 8.3. Noticed that some sites are not loading, takes a very long time to bring up the default server parked page.

    Have checked the following
    1. DNS is correct and propagated
    2. Tried to type in specific address www.domain.com/filename (says file not found)
    3. Checked file permissions
    4. httpd.include exists and looks correct
    5. Tried to remove the domain, recreate manually and FTP files, same result...
    6. Restarted apache (/etc/rc.d/init.d/httpd restart)
    7. Mail is being delivered for all the migrated domains
    8. Server load is low (average idle 97.96%)
    9. Doesnt seem to matter whether sites have PHP code or not

All the other sites (existing before migration) are loading perfectly.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

DB:3.40:Plesk 8.3 (Centos 4) Not All Sites Loading After Migration j1

The problem was that the httpd.include file didnt have a ServerAlias www.domianname entry. Strange that only some of these migrated files didnt contain this entry...

    Hello !
I tried some weeks ago to patch plesk from 9.2.3 to 9.3 but was not able to do it. I did not really pay attention to this but yesterday I tried again and again was not able to patch.

In the update panel (Plesk panel) I have two lines with the releases Parallels Plesk Panel 9.2.3 and Parallels Plesk Panel 9.3.0 but none of these work.

    I get things like :

there is no way to do this. Plesk10 has a whole new structure. Migration manager can convert your data from old to new structure but not back to old structure. your only way is to create user domain etc on the old server and migrate FTPdata, Databases, mail etc manually

    DB:3.37:Migration From 8.2.1 To 9.2.1 Hangs On 50% z7

    Hi,

Ive migrated a couple for Plesk 8.2.1 / FreeBSD 6 servers succesfully to Plesk 9.2.1 on Ubuntu 8.04 through the Migration manager. I only had to edit a small file (/usr/local/psa/PMM/agents/PleskX/PleskStructure.pm) and was all good to go.

Ive migrated thousands of domains so far, but now Im having an issue with another Plesk 8.2.1 / FreeBSD6 server migrating to Ubuntu 8.04 / Plesk 9.2.1 server.

Every domain I try, the progress bar in migration manager stops at 50%.

I dont want to upgrade my old server to 8.6.0, though this is recommended. Due to all kind of upgrade/problems/reasons with Plesk and FreeBSD, I really dont want to get into again :|

    Anyone with a solution?

    Hans

    DB:3.37:Migration From 8.2.1 To 9.2.1 Hangs On 50% z7

Yes! Did was the issue, thanks so much!

Ive exported the psa dump file, edited the file to remove al \0 chars, reimported it in psa and now the migration works. Thanks very much!

    DB:3.37:Migration From 7.5.3 To 10.0.1 dp

    Hi,

Im a novice when it comes to upgrades and migration. I need to migrate data from a live Plesk 7.5.3 panel to a new clean Plesk Panel 10.0.1
I tried running the migration planning tool on the 7.5.3 panel, but I think the response was basically telling me that it could only check Plesk 8 or 9.

What is the recommended method for migrating data from 7.5.3 to 10.0.1 - is this supported by the migration manager?

Your help in this matter is greatly appreciated as the old (live) server is due to go out of service on 31-Dec.

Yes, according to http://download1.parallels.com/Ples...plesk-switching-administrator-guide/65902.htm you can perform migration from 7.5.3 to 10.0.x version.

Before we wanted to de-migrate from Expand back to Plesk because Expand only supports Plesk 9.x.

We were warned that this is not supported because:

    1. Although you can de-migrate Linux mail servers (and content?) you cannot de-migrate Windows mail servers.
    2. You cannot de-migrate DNS.

With PPA we have some hope that we will be able to upgrade our old servers.

The question is, with PPA, can you migrate your DNS from Expand to PPA?

Yes, the migration tool moves all zones into PPA DNS servers

also might be helpful to contact support team. they will provide you with help in case of active support option on your license. but they can really help to solve this

    Hello,

First, Id like to provide my configurations. Both servers are on Godaddy.
Source server: Windows Server Standard without Hyper V Service Pack 2, Plesk: 9.2.3, Status: Accessible, Migration Agent: Downloaded from the 10.4.4 Panel and installed to source server.

Target Server: Windows R2 Standard Service Pack 1, Plesk:10.4.4, Status: Accessible.

    Problems:
    1) Migration ends successfully, all the domain information, e-mail accounts and e-mail transferred but the user accounts. I would have made it via FTP in 1 hours instead of 6 hours time. Tried to use famous http://kb.parallels.com/en/9679 but it always ends prematurely with Closing ZipArchive ./PMM-logs.zip failed: Cant open file: Permission denied wherever I try to run it as Administrator.

    2) Can not find any way just to migrate server configuration including user accounts and domains. As this is the first time Im using Plesk 10.4.4, I understand it has got nothing to do with the good old Plesk but something new. On the other hand, I am expecting Plesks Migration Manager to handle this change by itself. So, I wonder is there any way to have PMM just get the configuration; i.e. user accounts, domains and e-mail configurations and define in 10.4.4.

    3) Help videos related to migration show some interface like the 9.x version of Plesk with a left hand administration menu. How can I access it?

    4) Anytime I login to system with admin account; I face the domain name Im forced to register for admin. Is this the reason that PMM is not displaying users (that should have) migrated from the source server? Should I be logging into the Plesk from some other port and start migration from there? Really confused.

    Thanks in advance.
