The thing that jumps out about your crash is that it is happening while C3D is trying to do something with the ribbon.

So you may have improperly configured your ribbon. Or you may be discovering one of the reasons why the ribbon was disabled by default in C3D 2009, I don't know. Haven't messed with the ribbon myself.

a program called one key theater .. This is the problem .. I removed it and [...] then its done ..

    Thank you for the feedback!

But i have a question when i was drawing line but it was not only line its hard to explain

since i do not know the program , there was kind of lag

Even if it's hard to explain, you have a command-line that reports what command you started ... try to repeat what you did and then copy the content of the commandline to a textfile and upload this file. Plus describe at what step you had a time lag.

    Specs : 8 gb ram / Geforce Gt 630 m and i5 .. Which one should i prefer ? 2012 or 2013 can be alright ?

    How big are your drawings?

Will you work more 2D or more 3D?

What types of drawings will you create?

Okay, so I have figured out what is happening. As my file grows, the system gets slower and slower until ultimately it crashes and gives the Fatal Error, Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0x0008, exception which varies acccording to what I am doing. Apparently, something on my computer cannot handle the file after it gets too large.

ADT stands for Architectural Desktop which is what you mentioned you
    were
using. I am not sure what else could be causing this. When did it
    start
    and
have you imported data from other applications into the file?

No, I worked till saturday in the evening and everithing was OK. Sunday
    in
the morning this trouble come out as soon as I tried to run the first
rendering, after having changed some material maps (I usually use to map
materials with JPG images). The file was exactly the same, I did not add
    a
single line since the day before, only created and saved new views and
changed material maps. Sunday I succeded in solve the situation by using
    the
step by step procedure I described before, and only "lost" a layer
    material
(in other words I discovered that render would run without problems if I
turned the "general_matte" layer off, or if I detached the material map
    from
    it).
But today I had the some trouble, and I was forced first to erase some
objects (blocks) and then to detach the material map from other layers,
    and
in spite of this I can not have renderings, anyway!

Well, could I have any result if I completely uninstall Architectural
Desktop and install the software again?

    Thank you....

I've been running Autocad 2000 for months. For some reason, today, when I
start to boot up a drawing I get an error message that states: Fatal Error:
Unhandled access violation reading 0x0004 Exception @ 4e9489h. I am then
kicked out of Autocad. If someone knows how to correct this I would
    appreciate it.

    DB:4.27:Re: 89

I'm using AutoCAD 2000 (actually Map 4) on one project to get the bugs
    and migration issues sorted out.

Today, when opening a drawing, I got a "Fatal Error: unhandled access
violation reading 0xffffffff exception at 659ad126h". Checking several
other drawings, I found one other that results in the same error. All
others load fine. Using recover on the two drawings results in the
same error message. The second of the two drawings is in R14 format
    and opens fine in R14.

I've tried the .bak files, and they also trigger the error. I've
restored the files from backup tape, and these also error.

Shortly before this happened I'd installed the Q2 VIP Express Tools,
the Heidi driver update GDI6.HDI and plotted my first drawing in R2000
(not the drawing that caused the error).

I've not tried re-installing ACAD as after finally getting all the
customization in place I'd consider that a last resort.

System: Pentium Pro 200, 128MB RAM, 1.4GB free on the ACAD partition,
423MB free on the drawing file partition. Elsa Winner 2000 PRO/X.
Drawing 1 is 905KB, Drawing 2 is 68KB. Both are very basic 2D
    drawings.

All of them. Here's a link, I installed all of the 2007 updates and service packs for Land Desktop and Civil 3D. Make sure you read all the readme's because I think some service packs need to be installed before others.

There is a tech document in the Autodesk Knowledgebase on how to remove ALL
Autodesk data from your PC to perform a CLEAN install. I would bet if you
followed that, reinstalled 04 and then 09 that all SHOULD be fine.

    Hi,

one additional idea: create a new user for your Windows (with admin permissions), login with that new account and try AutoCAD to start.

Yet another Unhandled Access Violation error!

FATAL ERROR: Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0x119659 Exception at 36020db4h

    AutoCad LT 2002 Windows 2000

This is an intermitent error and only occurs when I insert a block into a drawing. But not all the time. It seems to happen about every 5th insertion. Also can happen when I use the copy/clip insertion method. The drawing I am inserting is 2002 drawing. I close Autocad and restart it, and I can insert this same drawing.

Any help would be great. Thanks!
    SuperDanny

    DB:4.23:Re: 9k

    Neil,

The shared block path should not be causing the crash. Have you ran Audit on
the drawings to make sure there are not any corruptions in your files or
blocks? If the problem does not occur when running locally then you could
look at your network client or network envioronment. If machine 1 is having
that many problems I would investigate why as it should not be crashing. I
have seen a temaplte or block being used in an office get corrupted then
start migrating though everones CAD stations so make sure your data is good.

    Fresh Information.
Machine 1 has had a regular history of crashes and is used heavily.
Machine 2 has not seen CAD use in ages until this week. The Machine 2
crashes only occur when both machines have CAD running.
As we use a common server file for our blocks could this be an issue?

I am using AutoCAD Map 3D 2013 and have had similar problems with "fatal error Unhandled Access....".

Almost all of my work is in 2D so I don't need to use the 3D features in the program.

After making one simple change in the 3D Performance area, the fatal error no longer occurs.

Tools Options tab "System" 3D Performance; Performance Settings Panel "Adaptive Degradation and Performance Tuning"

Un-select the "Adaptive degradation" option and press OK to close panel, then select "Apply" under the Options panel. Exit the panel.

This has resolved the problem so far.

try deleting the following from the registry (NOTE: MAKE BACKUP OF REGISTRY BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING)

We have AutoCAD LT 97 and only 2 out of at least 10 computers are having this problem. It is affecting work progress and my mental ability to handle this program and work in general.

I keep getting messages like ---
Fatal Error: Unhandled Access Violation Exception @ 58d4a0h while attempting to start a new drawing using a template that I made on this computer and saved on the server.

Fatal Error: Unhandled Access Violation Exception @ 540023h
This one happened when I had just finished dimensioning out something and right clicking.

Fatal Error: Unhandled Access Violation Exception @ 58d496h
I think that I was trying to switch from one drawing to another.

    And most resent
Fatal Error: Unhandled Access Violation Exception @ a9323a8h
This one happened while trying to exit out of AutoCAD.

All of these errors have happened in the last 3 days and I am not being able to get my work done like I would like to.

Well, I just tried the install on the laptop - no dice. It did the same thing, installed fine and then decided to error after the first few opens. The laptop is running SP2 and no antivirus/spyware programs so that isn't the problem either.

As far as a reason against SP2, on my desktop I have had nothing but problems with it in past installs. Too many problems to go into at the moment but I'll go into detail later on if its required.

So its either looking to be the CD or there's some underlying problem with my computing. Who knows.

Burning of the phosphors only happens on monitors that have a static display
like the old ASCII dumb terminals and monitors used in process control. But,
after 5 or 6 years of 8 hrs/day, 5 days/week, most monitors start to lose
their brightness or they develop some other sort of internal illness. On new
monitors the brightness is set at about 50%. Some of our 5 year units have
brightness cranked to 100% and they are still noticeably dim. Yet we have 3
seven year old monitors that still have a bright display.

As far as closing a drawing it is on the close of the drawing not the close

it is read only you cannot move the file save over the file or any thing in

I have this problem occuring all time. It's not the polyline boundary
definition (the actual polyline information), I think it just a problem
incorporating the complex entity that is the polyline into the surface
object. I found the only way to fix this is to delete the suface and start
    over, using the same boundary!

It happens like this. Open Land desktop, open drawing that is mostly lines and labels with 1 xref, then when we make a new line sometimes it will cause the fatal error and a message would say Fatal error would you like to save any changes and we would click yes. Another msg would say cannot save changes and land desktop exits. It happens about 50 percent of the time with a handful of drawings and on different computers. There is nothing different or special about these particular ones compared to drawings that have no problems.

    Hi,

I am unable to reproduce your crash. I also have SP2 installed.

Can you provide us with some more information? Do you get the crash when you
are dragging or is it after you actually press the mouse button to accept
    the new location?

One thing that would help us out immensely would be if you could narrow your
drawing down to just a single wall and slab (if those are the two objects
that actually are causing this problem). I may not be hitting the same
points that you do when you osnap, so maybe that's why I can't reproduce it.

    Mosby,

Something must have changed a week after the installation. I would suggest
backing up your customized files then going to add/remove then select the
Repair option. Hopefully that may resolve the unknown conflict. The reason
I mentioned a DWG viewer is we had a same error message crash from a
customer that installed a 3rd party viewer and uninstalling that viewer
resolved the problem. I am also not certain that your problem is related to
an upgrade as it could be something else such as a driver, file change, or
other application even Internet Explorer but I always install from scratch
as a general rule for applications and operating systems.

Could this be a bad RAM chip or is the program trying access a part of memory that is being occupied by another program running such as Norton Antivirus?

    DB:3.86:Re: dk

Having received a drawing file and some additional information from the
user, I believe that this problem has been resolved in ADT3 sp3 (the user
was still working with sp2). I've suggested that they install the latest
update, and get back to me if the problem still occurs.

If you are using ADT3 and experiencing problems, please use the AecVersion
command to check whether you have the latest patch installed. If you do,
the final number displayed for each file will be 378. If it's any lower
number (318, 324, 325 or 355), you should install sp3, which is available
    through http://support.autodesk.com/.

If you are using ADT3.3, the final number will be 376. ADT3.3 already
includes the fixes that are in sp3 for ADT3.

That sounds a little confusing. 64-bit OS but only 4 GB RAM and running a 32 bit application for rendering? Off hand I'd say running out of memory. The given RAM is on the low end for even basic Win7 office work, let alone engineering software. And as mentioned, rendering to file is a RAM-hungry operation, inside a 32-bit application under a 64-bit OS I'm not sure you would have access to any extra RAM.

Must be an installation issue. Could someone from Autodesk pass a memo on to these gurus that in today's workforce most installations are done through a network and the local machines do not have ADMIN RIGHTS. Autodesk can't expect all users to have admin rights, and often times this is corrupting installation files. IT doesn't really care, so maybe Autodesk should start. I get this when gripping polylines or close / save drawings.

I also have zero subassemblies to choose from. They didn't install at all, so I'm basically defaulting back to 2011 and waiting for service pack 1. I'm pretty sure any draftsperson or designer that produces work that's incorrect andalways is wrong and needs revisionsdue to ignorance would be FIRED. Hi Himanshu,

I had been working with AutoCAD the day before and everything was fine. I asked IT if they had done any automated updates and they said they hadn't. There are other techs in the office that still have CAD working.

IT did come down though and after determining that the Administrative install of CAD worked fine on my computer they wiped my profile andAutoCAD startedworking again.

The last 6 months with 2011 have been pretty rough.A lot of my time is spent waiting for someone in IT to reinstall or wipe my profile... which is all followed by me having to setup all of the standards. Very frustrating and time consuming.

Thanks for the quick response though Himanshu,

I'm running AutoCAD LT 2004 in Windows XP. It had been running perfect before. Today, anything that I try to do, like drawing a rectangle, will abort the program with the message: "Fatal Error: Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0x0054 exception at 72c214h".
The machine was checked for virus and none was present. The only change were Microsoft Updades.
Is there a Microsoft Update that would conflict with
    AutoCad 2004 LT.
Could anyone help me to debug the problem ?
    Thank you.

After using ACLT'04 for several months, I also am now getting the above mentioned Fatal Error...I have tried uninstalling Webroot's Spy Sweeper and Norton SystemWorks...reinstalling ACLT...I still get the error...I now suspect it may be a adware / spyware problem I now have following an unauthorized use of my machine...has anyone else seen this ?

    DB:3.79:Re: ks

I've seen this before, (it *is* because Office is installed after AutoCAD),
and once it happens, you need to uninstall/reinstall AutoCAD *after an
Office app has been run (to get past the EULA)* to clear it up.

I have also seen this happen when you install a retail version of Office
first, and never run an Office app (to accept the EULA) before installing
    AutoCAD.

I have had the following Fatal Error: Unhandled Access Violation Reading

    An Automatic Save begins...

I am running Windows ME on a P3- 866 with 256M RAM... Any assitance would be

Also why doesn't Autodesk have any patches, or if they do where are they...
they only have a patch for upgraders, that I can find.

DB:3.79:Re: Fatal Error: Unhandled Access Violation Reading ac

    Al:

Unhandled Access Violations can be caused by many things including
hardware problems, software problems, file version conflicts, Windows
Registry issues, or a combination of those things. Video problems
file corruptions are probably what I've seen the most often.

In addition to all the other good advice Mr. Saadallah gave, there's a
couple of other things that can be important. A lot of times, folks get
a random error then choose to "Save Changes" as they're failing out of
a drawing, only to get repeated errors trying to reopen or recover the
drawing, or when they're working with it later. Chances are high
they've saved the error right into that drawing file in the form of
corruption. I always try to advise people to keep multiple recent
copies if a drawing is important not to save changes when erroring out
unless the changes are 'mission critical'.

Another very common cause is fragmentation within your Windows swap
file/virtual memory area. The routine defragmentation that everybody
does "religiously" once a week or so doesn't touch that area. Something
I've recommended to people that's fixed a number of these problems is to
do a defragmentation that includes the swap file area (only AFTER a
thorough Scandisk) then set up a FIXED size large swap file (so that
computations don't push Windows to expand the swap file to include a
fragmented area). The specific way to do that in each version of
Windows is a little different from the others so if you haven't done it
before, be sure to get help before you start.

These suggestions don't fix all UAV errors but along with driver issues,
do fix alot of the most common causes.

Well for AutoCAD 2014 I would have verified first the service pack, is this up-to-date? And if you do a reinstall ... have you reinstalled the material libraries too?

For AutoCAD 2015 ... did you migrate the settings when you first started 2015, so it imported something from your 2014-settings? If so, it might also be the profile that has defects. You can use the "resetting to defaults" option (in the Windows start menu == Autodesk section) to make the AutoCAD profile clean (if you have done any customizations then please back them up before resetting).
