DB:3.53:File Adapter: Multiple Records, Multiple Types To Multiple Db Tables zm

    Hi there,

I have a proof-of-concept scenario which I am trying to model in ESB:

I have a single flat file with one invoice header record and multiple invoice lines.
I want to read this file via the File Adapter, and insert the different records into different database tables: the invoice header in an invoice table, and the invoice lines into a line item table.

If I tackle the lines in isolation no problem (i.e. single file with only invoice lines in to the invoice lines table). Things break down when I add the invoice header into the mix.

Does anyone have an example of this or something similar?
Would I need to use seperate database adapters for the two tables, or is this achievable with a single database adapter?

    Thanks in advance!

DB:3.53:File Adapter: Multiple Records, Multiple Types To Multiple Db Tables zm

    Thanks for that Abhi.

I actually tried that, but I'd find that I would only get the header record added properly; the multiple invoice lines would not get written to the invoice line table properly.

I found that I would either get the same invoice line added many times, or I would get null values.
I played around with the for-each statement, and I even tried creating my own xsd for the data file (instead of using the native format tool).

Any ideas what the issue might be?

    Thanks,
    Richard

    Hi,

I am doing a scenario in which i have a single file which may contain different record types say type A,B,C.

I want to separate all records of type A, all records of type B, also all records of type C into different files.

so i will have 3 files of type record A,B,C in destination.

I am using File adapter on both sides.

I think one way may be using ccBPM.Can you please inform me how to achieve it using BPM.

If there is any other way Please mention.

    Hi all,

    3. recordTypes = Header,Item

Then I get this error -

DB:3.34:How To Load The Split Records Into Multiple Flatfiles? s8

Suppose i have 1,00,000 records are there in my table, in that i want to split 100 records into 1 file, next 100(101 to 200) records into another flat file like upto 1 lakh records need to split in seperate flat file for each 100 records

How can we achieve this, Can anyone suggest on this ?

DB:3.34:How To Load The Split Records Into Multiple Flatfiles? s8

as per my understanding, you're expecting to load alternative 100 records into each file. that mean, initial 100 into file1, next 100 (101-200) into file2, next 100 (201-300) into again file1 and so on till end of source records.

if my understandin is correct as you expected, then this can be achieve easily with Sequence Tx. provide end value as 200 and enable "cycle" option in Seq Tx. then using Router Tx route the records using below group conditions.

File1 Records: condition should be NEXTVAL=100

File2 Records: condition should be NEXTVAL 100

Then connect the rows to appropriate Targets.

DB:3.24:Is Batch Insert Possible In Oracle Soa ? da

    Hi All,
I have a requirement to read a file containing multiple rows and then insert those records in DB with pure INSERT statement and not using procedure.

And my implementation would look like FILE ADAPTER (to read the file) - MEDIATOR (for transformation) - DB ADAPTER (to write in DB)
I am able to read the file successfully using file adapter but when I am trying to insert, its always inserting the first record alone.
The transformation xsl in mediator is transforming the first record alone even though there is for-each loop.

I know we can use BPEL to iteration through the records and insert into DB one by one. But its there a way to perform batch insert in DB, as we do in normal java code.

    Hi,
Currently I have a mapping developed in Windows. The mapping was later exported to OWB on AIX. However External table rejects most of the records in AIX into bad record file.
The input file multiple types of records. However all other external tables are able to read from it. Only one external file has this problem. Also the external table started reading once the following changes were done.
Use Float External instead of Decimal External.
    Use Character instead of Integer.

Can any one explain what the problem is because this is not observed in Windows based environments.

    DB:3.17:External Table Not Loading 3x

I presume there is a mismatch between the data type in the external table and the data actually in the file - either a type mismatch or a field length mismatch.
Can you check the data rejected by the external table against you external table definition?

Hi Gurus,I have few basic questions regarding JDBC Receiver Adapter. I have searched the possibilities of using JDBC receiver adapter with databases like DB2,Oracle 10g, Sybase 15, SQL server 2008.But Not able to figure out the best way to implement it. Here is my understanding first.1. JDBC Adapter using direct SQL statements like INSERT,INSERT_UPDATE,DELETE2. JDBC Adapter calling Stored procedure to send the data. For Ex, If a message contained 1000 records, How JDBC adapter really works in both the cases. assume all the mapping is straight fwd. 1. JDBC Adapter generates 1000 SQL Statements to send the data to database. 2. JDBC Adapter calls the stored procedure 1000 times to send the data? Which one is best practice? In other forum I saw some thing like calling stored procedure only once for multiple records. Looks like the records are combined into CLOB data type(Creation of single XML file for all the records) and passed into Stored procedure(So its like XML parser to SP). My requirement is: I have hierarchical structure which is passed from SAP and needs to be updated in multiple tables in target DB.header section in 1 table and detailed section in other 2 tables. Single message from SAP will have multiple records. Can you pls suggest me which option is good and how to implement this in better way and how it really works.Appreciate your help.

    DB:3.13:Jdbc Receiver Adapter Questions 7a

if you standard approach insert / update/insert_upodate/delete statement PI uses 1000 connection to send data to Data base.Even if you use Stored procedure also more or less same only. because 1000 message are considered as a 1000 indivudual messages in PI .Use packaging concept at sender level and collect all messages and send as a one message then only you cam miminize the number of JDBC calls, this case your db team has to develop stored procedure to accept string as a input.

DB:3.10:How To Do The Record Level Commit In Db Adapter 73

I believe you are polling a file and inside the BPEL, inserting the records into the database using the database adapter.

so according to your requirement you can do any one of the following things...

    1. Instead of using the database adapter for inserting the record, you can call a Stored Procedure which it takes the record fields as input and it inserts the record into the table and does a commit at the end. when you follow this approach, make sure your data source is defined as Non-XA, otherwise you will face some errors.

    2. If you are using the database adapter insert operation only, inside the BPEL, for the partnerlink of the database adapter, go to the properties and for the property "idempotent", give a value of false.

by doing this, what happens means, after calling the database adapter from BPEL through the invoke activity, the transaction is committed and from the next activity i mean after the invoke, a new transaction will be started but it will use the same thread though

    3. If you are using the database adapter insert operation only, inside the BPEL, for the partnerlink of the database adapter, go to the properties and for the property "NonBlockingInvoke", give a value of true.

by doing this, what happens means, the database adapter insert operation will happen in a separate transaction and it will be committed, inside the BPEL after the invoke activity, a new thread and transaction will be started

    4. Also, if you are using the database adapter insert operation, don't follow the steps as mentioned in either 2 or 3, you can simply put a dehydrate activity after the invoke activity.

According to your requirement, all the four approaches works. But my personal feeling, don't go for 4, instead 1 is better, 2 or 3 is also good.

    Hope this helps,
    N

They are quite helpful for me to find my way in this unfamiliar territory. The environment for this test is a VM (Oracle 5 preconfigured image) on a Windows 7 box, connecting over the network to our Dev database. On the Dev server, i can CREATE TABLEs in my own SCHEMA, but not DIRECTORYs. I also cannot run SQL*Loader on that server.SQL*Loader takes 20 seconds, give or take three.Through the examples, SQL*Loader was able to provide a script. External TABLEs, Executing the script resulted in:ERROR at line 1:ORA-12840: cannot access a remote table after parallel/insert direct load txnSo, i removed the append hints, but the script started taking a good deal of time:Directory created.Elapsed: 00:00:00.05Table created.Elapsed: 00:00:00.06Table created.Elapsed: 00:00:00.138 rows created.Elapsed: 00:00:10.87After that it just seems to hang. I assume it is faster for me to use SQL*Loader.

    Hi All,

My requirement is to use Advanced Adapter Engine for File To File scenario without using Mappings, Receiver/Interface Determination and Agreement.

I have developed and it is working for single record (Sender Text file and Receiver Text File), but if i provide multiple records then it is not working.

    Here is my data types,

    Then in Integration Directory,

Created Sender and Receiver Communication Channel,

I am able to get the output file.

But if I provide multiple records its failing and I am getting the error "Message processing failed. Cause: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: java.lang.Exception: Exception in XML Parser (format problem?):'java.lang.Exception: Message processing failed in XML parser: 'java.lang.Exception: Consistency error: more fields found in XML structure than specified in conversion parameters! I am getting error,

I have seen similar thread yesterday. Repeated thread with the same requirement would cause experts confusion and you might not get the appropriate answer.

If you dont want mapping and use pass through scenario that means moving the file from one location to another. You dont need ESR objects. Just create ID objects as I already explained. You can provide dummy sender and receiver interface name and namespace.

If you are doing file to proxy means then you need mapping. Here input source could be text data file or XML. If you have text file then you need to do File content conversion. In your case you dont need FCC.

Please search SCN for file to file without mapping. You can also see the other threads reply about doing in Integrated configuration.

    Hope that helps.

You need to write wrapper on top of your stored procedure. Please refer to sample "samples\tutorials\122.DBAdapter\JPublisherWrapper". This talks about an alternative workaround suitable for use when dealing with PL/SQL RECORD types.

DB:2.98:Esb Not Processing File Containg Many Records? 3p

In my ESB service I have created an Adapter Service designed to poll for the arrival of a file. The file contains multiple records of the same type.
I have defined the service such and also defined it to process the records in batches of 10. The Routing Service then calls an Database Adapter service defined to call a stored procedure.

When I then create the file (containing multiple records of the same type) the ESB service picks the file up and it 'appears' to work correctly.
However, it is only the first record that gets processed and only one record inserted into the database.

Anyone for any ideas as to what might be going wrong?

(I am developing this on my laptop running WinXP)

DB:2.98:Esb Not Processing File Containg Many Records? 3p

I re-worked this at the weekend and it worked!

I looked at the Lesson: File Adapter Comma Separated Value example that can be found here: http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/integration/esb/index.html

The only difference between what I was doing and what was shown in this example is the publishSize. I had it set to 100 and the example had it set to 1. I re-built the ESB service from scratch using 1 for the publishSize. I also re-built the batch file (just in case!) and it's working!

In the transform activity (xslt) you need to use the for-each expression for the repeating element.

right-click the target root node that repeats, select node, and there should be an option of for-each

    This will make it repeating.

in a specific record structure? Also AELPS is a specific TAG or a field VALUE. In another words does AELPS figure in the output?

Yes and no. I f you mean reading multiple files as one-single-payload to a process, you can not use this. But the file adapter reads all the files (depending on the number of agents) almost at once, processing each file, or each line in the file as a process instance.

    Hi All

I have a problem with file content conversion in receiver file adapter.

I get data from proxy in 3 levels. I have claim records and each claim record have multiple work order records. Each work order record has multiple line item records.

    Claim record1

    Work_Order1

    Line_Item1

    Line_Item2

    Line_Item3

    Work_Order2

    Line_Item4

    Line_Item5

    Line_Item6

I have the following file content conversion:

    Recordset Structure: Claim_Record,Work_Order,Line_Item

    Content conversion parameters are:

    Claim_Record.fieldSeparator = ,

    Claim_Record.endSeparator = 'nl'

    Work_Order.fieldSeparator = ,

    Work_Order.endSeparator = 'nl'

    Line_Item.fieldSeparator = ,

    Line_Item.endSeparator = 'nl'

My problem is, data is written into the file without this hierarchy.

All claim records are written in sequence followed by all work order records, followed by all line item records.

Can file adapter's file content conversion handle 3 levels of data? If not, what is the solution for this scenario?

    Please help!

DB:2.95:Problem With File Content Conversion In Receiver File Adapter dd

    Hi Chandra Shekar,

The best possible way is to change the receiver file structure rather than manipulating cc for each hierarchy.

    Claim record1

    Work_Order1

    Line_Item1

    Line_Item2

    Line_Item3

    Work_Order2

    Line_Item4

    Line_Item5

    Line_Item6

Maintain one node for claim record and one for each work order1 and work order 2

in the fields (for ex: Line_Item1) try mapping this way.

Source - remove contexts - split by value - target

    try this,

DB:2.95:Processing Delimited File With Multiple Format Records zz

    OK,

then you don't have too much options...

the problem is that before apply the filter ODI tries to upload the data into the C$ table and, as there are multiples formats, some columns is getting "wrong datatype" (or some error of this kind).

My question about the initial character was because if they were always the same, you could use a feature from JDBC Driver to file but only works to initial characters.

In your case, it will be necessary to create a temp table with 3 columns like:

Filler1 - Before the record type column
    Rec_Type - the record type
    Fille2 - the other columns

Filler1 and Filler2 columns should has the necessary lenght to get all data from record.

Now you can filter the record type but will need a "substring" function to separate the embedded into filler1 and filler2.

    Make any sense?

Hello I'm new to SSIS. I'm trying to load data from a fixed width text file into multiple tables in SQLSVR2005 . However, there's 5 different types of records in the text file, and the first 2 characters of each record let me know which type
of record I'm dealing with. Depending on the type, I've got to process the row completely differently.
Any ideas on how I can go about loading this data conditionally?

edit: I forgot to add, that each record type is a completely different format (but all records are the same total length).

    DB:2.93:Conditional Bulk Insert? 89

Ok then this makes sense... thanks to Reza.
    Reza,
I hope am not sounding irrational, Though i am still wondering if I am missing something on this thread, id we dont know the width of columns in advance is there a way to break the rows down into columns as required using derived transformation,
i am still thinking and cant come to a conclusion what sort of expression to write for the same, until we know what sort of data to expect or we know the column width, is there a way to turn around that.

    Abhinav
Yes that's what his solution explains.
    1. Break down the rows in the flat file by Conditional Split Transformation. Example if I want to look at all type 01 records, use expression SUBSTRING([Column 0], 1, 2) == 01 and direct that to Output 1. use SUBSTRING([Column 0], 1, 2)
== 02 and direct that to Output 2.
    2. Break down all your outputs with Derived Column Transformation. Use expressions like SUBSTRING([Column 0], 3, 60) and insert that into column named Description with type string. Do that for every column for every output. I can do this
because I know that all rows that get passed to each Derived Column Transformation have the same fixed length widths.

I get all that now. The part that I don't understand now is if I want to direct a particular output to multiple tables. Any ideas on how to accomplish this? Let's say my 01 records are actually representative of 2 different tables that
share one of the columns in common (used as foreign key in one and as primary key in the other). Because I can't just make more conditional splits per table and I can't send Derived Column output to two separate destinations.

DB:2.91:Db Adapter: Polling For New Records Returns The First Record Multiple Times ms

I Polling for New or Chnaged Records against DB2 on iSeries. The DB Adapter returns the first record from the Table multiple Times. If the Table has 5 records it displays the first record 5 times. I am using BPEL 10.1.3.1 Can anyone help me with this.

DB:2.91:Db Adapter: Polling For New Records Returns The First Record Multiple Times ms

    Hi there,

please check out the DBAdapter trouble-shooting guide:

    http://download-east.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31017_01/integrate.1013/b28994/app_trblshoot.htm#CIHFEHFA

I am copying an entry from there into here:

A.1.21 Some Queried Rows Appear Twice or Not at All in the Query Result

    Problem

When you execute a query, you may get the correct number of rows, but some rows appear multiple times and others do not appear at all.

This behavior is typically because the primary key is configured incorrectly. If the database adapter reads two different rows that it thinks are the same (for example, the same primary key), then it writes both rows into the same instance and the first row's values are overwritten by the second row's values.

    Solution

    *

Open Application Sources TopLink TopLink Mappings. In the Structure window, double-click PHONES. On the first page, you should see Primary Keys. Make sure that the correct columns are selected to make a unique constraint.
    *

Save and then edit the database partner link.

Click Next to the end, and then click Finish and Close.
    *

Open your toplink_mappings.xml file. For the PHONES descriptor, you should see something like this:

    primary-key-fields
    fieldPHONES.ID1/field

    fieldPHONES.ID2/field
    /primary-key-fields

    Thanks

DB:2.91:Multiple Records Update Using Jdbc 1a

    Hi sap Gurus..

How to bupdate multiple records/b in MS SQL 2000..using ireceiver JDBC adapter../i

    Help me please..

    kumar

DB:2.91:Multiple Records Update Using Jdbc 1a

    Hi;

There are two ways to do this .

    First

    StatementName1

    dbTableName action=UPDATE

    tablerealDbTableName/table

    access

    col1val1/col1

    col2val2new/col2

    /access

    key1

    col2val2old/col2

    col4val4/col4

    /key1

    /dbTableName

    /StatementName1

Here keep the occurance of StatementName1 0...unbound

    Second

    StatementName6

    anyName action= SQL_QUERY | SQL_DML

    accessSQL-String with optional placeholder(s)/access

    key

    placeholder1value1/placeholder1

    placeholder2value2placeholder2

    /key

    /anyName

    /StatementName6

Here use SQL Query in the action tab to update teh table based on the place holder values

action= SQL_QUERY | SQL_DML This structure enables you to transfer more complex SQL statements to the database directly using the adapter. You have the option of using placeholders in these SQL statements, which can be listed in the subsequent keyblock. This makes it easy to generate complex, parameterisable SQL statements.

    Details on the structure:

#9675; The name of the structure is arbitrary. Unlike in the usual statement types, no table name or stored procedure name is expected in the default setting.

#9675; If the SQL statement represents a query to the database (SELECT), choose Action=SQL_QUERY.

#9675; If it represents a call from the SQL Data Manipulation Language (UPDATE, INSERT, DELETE), choose Action=SQL_DML.

#9675; The first element in the structure must have the name access and contain a valid SQL call for the respective mode, optionally with placeholders (see below).

#9675; If you use placeholders, these must be listed in the element with the name key. The names of the placeholder elements must be identical to those used in the SQL string (where they still have the $ character). In the above example StatementName6, the strings $placeholder1$ and $placeholder2$ contained in the SQL string are replaced with value1 or value2 before the SQL statement is executed.

DB:2.90:Inserting Multiple Rows Into Database Table Using Jdbc Adapter - Efficiency dx

I need to insert multiple rows into a database table using the JDBC adapter (receiver).

I understand the traditional way of repeating the statement multiple times, each having its access element. However, I am just wondering whether this might be performance-inefficient, as it might insert records one by one.

Is there a way to ensure that the records are inserted into the table as a block, rather than record-by-record?

    Hi

i have a basic question regarding how file sender communication channel ( where we poll for a particular file pattern either using file/ftp types in a particular subfolder ) or a sql sender communication channel - ( selecting records from a sql source ) would work in a scenario with two active XI instances and j2EE file and sql adapter services running on both of the J2EE servers ?

    1. How would the file polling from both J2EE servers - avoid a conflict looking for the same file pattern ? Is there any inbuilt mechanism from SAP to make multiple instances work with the file polling - without a confict ?

    2. Simlar question for SQL sender type communication channel ?

If SAP does have a mechanism to handle multiple instance scenarios for file and sql sender adapter based communication channels, is there a link/document on this ?

DB:2.90:Xi-Multiple Instance Scenario -File Sql Sender Communication Channels ca

    Hi Karthik,

    Please see my comments.

I am just wondering aloud - what will happen if we use a select for update clause in the sql sender adapter communication channel -

Gouri: Yes you can use select + update. In fact that is the right way.

will this ensure that polling from one J2EE instance will lock the selected records so that the second instance does not select the same set of records from the sql server ? Or should we not use a select for update and use a simple select statement ?

Gouri: Yes. SQL DB will ensure that same data will not be picked by another node. As I mentioned earlier use serilizable option from advanced mode.

    Hi,

I am planning for an interface, where I would receive a data file into specified directory. I am supposed to upload data into staging table and then process this data. This data file would contain multiple records.

Initially I thought to use ESB, to read data file using File adapter and dump data into staging table using DB adapter. In next stage it should call Pl-SQL procedure to process all loaded records. My trouble starts here. When data file with multiple records is passed to ESB it processes it line by line, so my PL-SQL procedure gets fired multiple times (as many rows as in the file).

Anybody has worked on this scenarios? Any help appreciated....

DB:2.88:Processing Datafile Using Esb &Amp; Bpel jp

Is there a way to retrieve and stage all of the records before you invoke the stored procedure? I would imagine that this can be codified in your BPEL process. Once the records have been read and the data staged in the table invoke your procedure just once to process all of the data.

I am trying to integrate a comma seperated file to an Oracle database. The files contain multiple record types each of which have different number of fields and a different order of datatypes within those fields. The order that the records types are listed in the file determines the relationship between them, e.g.

The file could contained the following record types in the order shown:
    Segment
    Fixture
    Position
    Position
    Segment
    Segment
    Fixture
    Position
    Position

So there is a parent-child relationship between the Segement record and the Fixture record that immediately follows it and similarly the position records are child records to the Fixture record.

How can I create datastores that represents this relationship when there is no parent field in the child record types?

    Hello,

We have a BPEL process reading the datafile through file adapter and upserting into DB using DB Adapter. Our requirement is

If there are 10 records to process and two records (record 5 and 9) fail while inserting/updating for some reason(i.e data type mismatch, column length mismatch etc..), at the end of the process you should see 8 records in the destination table and two records in error table.

I know there are solutions of this :

*1) Multiple calls to DB:* Use a While loop in a BPEL process and Invoke DB adapter for each record and use exception handling(Catch all block).

*2) Invoke Store Procedure:* to prevent multiple calls to DB, create a stored proc on DB side to iterate and insert the records and the stored proc should also return the IDs of failed records back as error response so that you can insert those failed records to a log table or in log files.

Can you suggest which solution is best in terms of performance and why ??
Also we need to perform some business validation (i.e NOT NULL check, date format check etc..), Where should we perform this.. at DB level or BPEL process level?? and why..

    Hi Exerts,

    thanks,

DB:2.83:Posting Multiple Records From File To Idoc xm

    Hi Dhanush,

You need to change the occurance of idoc to 0 to unbounded ie need to opt idoc packaging.

Just download the xsd of you idoc to the desktop and change the occurance tag as "xsd:element name="IDOC" type="COND_A.COND_A02" maxOccurs="unbounded" /" and then reimport it into External definition and use it in your message mapping and then map it with you source structure.

DB:2.83:Sending Multiple Files Using File Adapter ss

The scenario I am implementing requires multiple files of different names to be picked up by my adapter. I dont want to create different file adapters for each file. I tried using the "Additonal Files" option in the sender file adapter in my configuration, but am not able to do the same. Any idea as to how the configuration for multiple files for same adapter isto be done?

DB:2.83:Sending Multiple Files Using File Adapter ss

are you really sure about this requirement? in XI you have to create a sender agreement for each communication channel, where you specify the message interface of the sender. each communication channel can only be used in ONE sender agreement, so you can only send one interface through a specific file adapter and i'm wondering how you achieve this when you have different extensions thus different content? If you receive XML, you would not need content conversion, if you receive txt or csv, you will need content conversion to put the data into a XML structure... (unless you receive XML with "wrong" extension txt).

So could you give some more detail on what you are doing?

    best regards

DB:2.82:I Want My File Adapter To Poll Multiple Locations In Soa 10g 9k

    Hi,

In 10g it is not possible as 11g.
Depending on your 10g version you can try and add the property Recursive="true" inside the jca:operation tag (wsdl).
That will allow you define a folder, and the polling will be for that folder and it's subfolders.
You can also try do something like: PhysicalDirectory="C/abc;D/xyz". Don't think it will work but...

    Otherwise, consider some other alternatives:
    1. 2 adapters pick activity (like suggested before).
    2. 2 processes that polls different direcotries and copy files into third directory.
    3. Mount a directory to the other directory.
    4. Just use 2 processes...

    Hi Rahul,

You need to change the occurrence of the Target Message in Signature tab as 1. Also the MT of the target should have 1:1 occurrence.

    Source MT (0--Unbounded) -- removeContext -- SplitbyValue -- TargetMT (1 --1)

As you are not using multiple Message Types / Service Interfaces, you should not need Enhanced Interface Determination.

DB:2.80:Lkm (File To Sql) And Multiple Csv Files dd

    Hi-

It is not possible to load FILEA then FILEB then FILEC into Target developing a single interface as ODI approach is not row by row.

Furthermore, this not recommended: when working with file Sunopsis loads everything in memory so if you try to run that huge amount of data in a single execution you may meet some performance issue (then no data at all will be loaded).
So 1 source=1 interface seems to me a good solution.

For the alternate way, you can use your source as delimitted/fixed files instead of .csv if possible to get this format. In this way you can load millions of records in a single execution by using a single file.

Also LKM_File_SQL is NOT RECOMMENDED when using LARGE VOLUMES. You can use bulk copy method by using LKM_File_Oracle(SQLLDR Bulk utilities).

Enable failed message routing for the port.
    Read up on it here:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa578516(BTS.70).aspx
One way to use it is to enable failed message routing on your DB2 send port and then add a sendport that filters on ErrorReport.MessageType == FailedMessage. That sendport can do the same thing as any send port but I tend to use the FILE-adapter and dump
    the message.
Another way is to add a receive port to your orchestration. That port is set to receive failed messages.

DB:2.77:Error Message Trying To Write Multiple Records Types To Flat File Target sz

Another solution could be to divide this task in two (or more) mappings. The first loads your data in a temporary table and uses a numeric indicator (populated by a sequence, for example) that can be used by the second mapping (which will download this table to a file) for the correct ordering (by using order by).

    Step 1: Chose 'fixed-length'
    Step 2: Uploaded the file
Step 3: Chose File contains 'Multiple records of different types'
    Step 4: Nochange

In Step 5 I am not sure what value to enter for 'Condition-Value' although
I know the line with 'A' is of one Record type and the line with 'B' is of another record type.

Could someone please suggest me a way of doing this.

    Thanks in advance !!

    Hi Riko

Thanks for your reply. Basically In step 5 I need to enter the end-position and click scan,

So if suppose my input is like this
    H208261776 A080331 0000096917HOUSING REPAIRS3 23172007
    D208261776 BHR21001145 00000946003717754 3
    H208261693 A080327 0000009047HOUSING REPAIRS3 13472007
    D208261693 BHR24001175 00000077003727259 3
    000000105964

Then entering end-position as 1 and clicking scan will automatically create the conditon values for me like this

    H RECORD1
    D RECORD2
    0 RECORD3

But in the file which I posted originally I couldnt decide on which end-positon to give.

Based on what you selected when you posted, I assume you are using Access 2010. So the only thing that matters here is HOW you determine duplication.

DB:2.77:Creating Schema From Fixed Length File zs

    Hi
I am creating a schema in a write adapter from a fixed length file
I have multiple records of different types and I am using first few characters to scan for different records.
The problem is that when the schema is created, it always contains 1 field less in each record type(each choice). This is always the first element( the field which is used to compare the choice). for example if the one of the complex types(choice) has 10 elements, then instead of generating 10 elements C1 to C10 in the schema, it generates 9 elements C2 to C10

    Is this the expected behavior?
If not then is there a way around other than manually adding the fields?

    Thanks

    DB:2.77:Multiple Records To Process f7

    Hi All,

if we have multiple order records from a single source(file ex), and need to process, how it would be different apart from single record process?

    Thanks in advance

    DB:2.77:Multiple Records To Process f7

I do not understand why to take as one playload, it is thousands messages, i want one to process at a time so that if one record files, it can go to next. SXMB_MONI also shows the particular record.

    Scenarion - details (FILE-XI-IDOC)

    One record in source file

    Multiple records in source file

To simplify File to XML i created XML file for now, so with one record in source.

    order

    record

    header

    /header

    line-item

    /line-item

    /record

    /order

Mutiple records in source file as below

    order

    record

    header

    /header

    line-item

    /line-item

    /record

    /order

    order

    record

    header

    /header

    line-item

    /line-item

    /record

    /order

Wiht one record it is working, when i added one more record it is giving error, we can tweak xml structure, but actual file structure is the way i had to process.

    Thanks,
